Definitions
- the invention relates to an adapter for a self-loading firearm, which is designed to attach at least one additional device and has two adapter sections extending in the longitudinal direction of the weapon, namely a tube-side and a housing-side section.
- the invention also relates to a self-loading firearm equipped with such an adapter.
- positional designations such as “top”, “bottom”, “front”, “back”, etc. always refer to a weapon in a normal firing position, in which the core axis is horizontal and the shot is fired away from the shooter.
- Various designs of adapters for attaching at least one additional device or additional device such as, for example, a laser sighting, (night) aiming device, optics, lighting device, bipod, grenade launcher or the like, are known, including so-called Picatinny rails. The latter often extend in a straight line over the hand protection and / or the weapon housing and are fixed to it, for example, by fastening means, such as screws.
- an additional device in particular a rear sight, to an additional mounting rail attached to the firearm.
- the DE 10 2013 2008 770 A1 shows an assault rifle with a U-shaped forearm which is rigidly connected to the housing via an elongated tubular nut and a sighting carrier which extends over the length of the forearm and the housing.
- the visor carrier is connected to the fore-end along its entire length to promote stiffness, and its rear end is fixed to the housing with screws.
- US 5,343,650 B1 shows an adapter rail, which is firmly attached to the breech housing of an assault rifle and extended to the front.

- the adapter component is provided as a hand guard that has Picatinny rails on its side surfaces.
- the adapter component is pushed onto the barrel and the gas take-off mechanism and is fixed to the sleeve by means of a clamping pin by means of a non-positive clamping, so that movement in the longitudinal direction is excluded.
- a locking lug engages with a complementary recess on the housing and serves to orient and align the hand protection during assembly and to prevent rotation.
- the object of the present invention is to provide an alternative adapter and a firearm with an adapter which is of simple construction and which ensures the functional reliability of at least the additional device (s) attached to it.
- the generic adapter has the features of claim 1.
- the generic firearm of claim 20 is characterized in that it is provided with an adapter according to one of claims 1 to 19 and a holding device on the gun barrel or housing for fixing the adapter and a counter profile on the gun housing or barrel Formation of a floating bearing for a longitudinally movable guide of the adapter.
- the adapter according to the invention and the generic firearm guarantee the functionality of the at least one additional device attached to it, in particular a sighting device. If, for example, the tube emits heat to the housing during continuous fire and this expands or warps, which could occur in particular with plastic housings, or if the tube itself warps, the additional device remains - due to the special adapter mounting - of about caused tensions largely spared. If the additional device is a sight, for example, the point of impact changes little or not at all when the barrel is shot hot.
- the longitudinally movable floating bearing compensates for any axial displacements to the fixed bearing.
- the longitudinal fixation takes place by (fixing) the adapter to the holding device on the pipe, in particular in the vicinity of the pipe nut. In the area of the pipe nut, the part with the lowest vibration is located when the shot is fired.
- the pipe-side adapter section then surrounds the pipe without contact.
- the adapter can be provided in several parts. However, it is preferably formed in one piece and fixed with its tube-side section and the housing-side section is guided in a longitudinally movable manner via the floating bearing on the housing.
- One piece is easy to handle in terms of production technology and avoids additional components and fastening elements. Since the floating bearing guides the adapter transversely but longitudinally on the housing, alignment that is unaffected by different thermal expansion coefficients of the housing parts (and / or of the tube) and the optics carrier or the adapter is ensured. Overall, the movable guide on the floating bearing on the housing ensures good shot precision even in continuous fire and when the pipe is hot-shot.
- the pipe-side section can be designed as a rail. However, it is preferably provided as hand protection, which at least partially encompasses the tube and the section on the housing side at least partially encompasses the housing on its upper side (claim 2).
- Overlap in the sense of the invention means that in the case of the housing-side section, this is at least partially formed with sections complementary to the surface of the housing, so that it can be easily pushed onto the housing during assembly and is securely mounted on the housing.
- the housing thus forms an additional guide option during assembly and increases stability.
- the pipe-side section preferably extends with its hand protection in the assembled state along the pipe, approximately from the gas outlet to the housing, and surrounds the pipe without contact (claim 3). Among other things, this measure sure that the hand protection remains unaffected by vibrations in the front area of the tube, as it is spaced from it.
- the pipe-side and the housing-side section are at least partially formed on their top and / or their side surfaces with one or more grooves for fastening at least one additional device.
- the pipe-side adapter section can also have such fastening grooves on its underside (claim 4).
- the pipe-side and the housing-side adapter sections are at least partially designed as picatinny rails on their top and / or their side surfaces.
- picatinny rails For the tube-side adapter section, this also applies to its underside (claim 5). This measure increases the flexibility when attaching different additional devices, since these can be variably mounted in different positions on the respective Picatinny rail. Additional Picatinny rails on the side further increase flexibility, since additional devices can also be fitted to the respective adapter in a ring-like manner.
- the adapter can be designed as a straight, horizontally arranged rail.
- the pipe-side section preferably merges in steps into the housing-side section, lateral bridge sections in the step region connecting the two sections to one another (claim 6).
- Such a, in particular symmetrical, bridge construction of the adapter ensures stable mounting of the optics or sighting device mounted on the adapter.
- a step-like design, which increases towards the weapon housing, is particularly suitable for weapon-specific configurations, in the manner of an assault rifle, such as the applicant's G36 rifle.
- one of the two adapter sections comprises passages on both sides for the introduction of fastening means, in particular screws and / or bolts (claim 7).
- the passages can be designed as recesses, recesses and / or bores.
- the fasteners are introduced there in a known manner.
- spring-loaded bolts, pins or screws can be provided, or other suitable fastening means.
- screws or grub screws these can engage on the opposite side in a known manner in a counter thread provided there.
- One and / or both adapter sections are preferably provided with one or more, in particular lateral recess or opening (claim 8), which extend, for example, rectangular or oval. They can also be designed as so-called “keyholes”. This enables ventilation of the pipe and in particular heat dissipation from the pipe to the outside after the shot is fired. An additional device or a target aid can also be attached here.
- one and / or both adapter sections each comprise on their rear side at least one guide element for guiding, centering and securing the adapter when mounted on the firearm (claim 9).
- the guide element can in particular be designed as a protruding extension, nose, pin or the like.
- the extension is preferably formed on the housing-side section as a dovetail profile (claim 10).
- the dovetail profile is used to optimize the floating bearing.
- this dovetail profile ensures a transverse but longitudinally movable movement of the adapter relative to the weapon housing.
- the dovetail guide is the only contact surface between the adapter and the bolt-carrying weapon housing and is preferably provided as small or as small as possible to reduce elastic movements on the housing.
- the housing-side section preferably comprises cutouts extending on both sides in the longitudinal direction for actuating a charging lever (claim 11).
- the overlapping of the housing-side adapter section over the bolt-carrying weapon housing is preferably provided in such a way that symmetrical recesses for actuating a loading lever of the firearm are provided on both sides in the housing-side section of the adapter.
- the adapter can overlap the housing, which in turn increases the stabilization of the adapter and facilitates its assembly and, on the other hand, enables the functionality of the charging lever and the operability of all essential elements.
- the housing-side section preferably comprises one or more recesses for mounting at least one adjustable sighting device, in particular a folding rear sight arrangement and / or folding grain arrangement (claim 12).
- a recess is particularly preferably provided at the front and rear end of either a Picatinny rail or a rail without grooves to provide a sufficiently long line of sight.
- recesses can also be easily milled out.
- a folding visor arrangement can be folded in when an additional device is attached, so that its assembly is not hindered.
- the adapter can completely cover the tube and can be made in one piece.
- the adapter preferably comprises, on the tube-side section, a cover which can be pivoted between an open and closed position about a hinge axis (claim 13). This measure allows easy access for disassembly, inspection or cleaning of a gas piston and a piston rod of a gas pressure loading mechanism.
- the cover can be pivotably mounted on a hinge pin with corresponding recesses on the lower part of the tube-side section.
- the adapter preferably comprises an insert for its stabilization and reinforcement, which can be inserted and fixed in particular between the bridge sections (claim 14).
- the insert can also extend beyond the bridge sections.
- the insert is preferably provided in the area of the bridge sections.
- the insert can be designed as a block.
- the insert preferably comprises an elastic element, in particular with a latching lug for fixing the cover (claim 15).
- the cover can be designed such that it is closed in the direction of the section on the housing side and is simply pressed by the user over the latching lug, so that it is held in its locked position by the elastic element.
- opening the lid it can be opened upwards with a slight counter pressure against the locking lug.
- the elastic element is preferably provided in one piece with the insert as a shaped spring (claim 16). Alternatively, it can also be provided as a separate component which is correspondingly mounted on the insert.
- a one-piece training can be created easily and inexpensively in terms of production technology.
- the insert part can be injection molded from plastic, in which case the integrated spring can also be made from plastic. Overall, however, the shape and choice of material of the insert and its spring can be configured as desired.
- the insert can preferably have a gas piston guide extending in the longitudinal direction and / or a bearing for a gas piston spring (claim 17).
- the use can be determined in the area of the bridge sections.
- it can have passages, for example, which are in particular aligned with passages in the adapter and can be fixed there by means of transverse pins or transverse bolts or, if appropriate, also screws or other suitable fastening means.
- the insert preferably comprises on its rear side at least one guide element for guiding and centering on the housing during assembly (claim 18).
- the guide element can be provided, for example, as a guide lug or other extension and then protrudes in the direction of the housing when the adapter is pushed on and locked, and engages with a recess on the front of the housing during assembly. If a gas piston guide is provided, the guide lugs or the guide element ensure that the gas piston guide in the housing is extended.
- the holding device for fixing the adapter is preferably provided as a sleeve which can be fixed on the tube, in particular in the region of the tube nut, or as a sleeve-like section integrally extending a tube nut (claim 20).
- a sleeve can be firmly attached to the pipe, in particular at its rear area near the pipe nut.
- a transverse groove can be provided on the tube, for example, so that the tube sleeve can be fixed on the barrel by means of a tangential pin or bolt.
- the sleeve can have transverse grooves on its upper side for fastening the fixed bearing of the adapter.
- the holding device can also be provided as an elongated tube nut which is extended over a sleeve-shaped section. Circumferential annular grooves can then be provided in the sleeve section, which enable the adapter to be fixed positively in the longitudinal direction via transverse screws and non-positively in the transverse direction.
- At least one counter profile for receiving at least one of the guide elements of the adapter and / or insert element is preferably provided on the housing or on the tube (claim 21).
- a complementary counter profile facilitates the orientation and alignment of the respective guide elements and thus the adapter or the insert.
- the counter profile is particularly preferably complementary to the dovetail profile of the extension on the adapter for longitudinally movable mounting in the manner of a floating bearing.
- a dovetail profile enables a connection with only a small connection area.
- the counter profile can also be provided as a separate part, which is fastened to the housing in a suitable manner.
- the counter profile can be made of plastic or metal or a plastic-metal composite part.
- the counter profile can be spherical in order to reduce the points of contact, which can further reduce housing influences.
- the counter profile can have a wedge-shaped or slit-like configuration with which the dovetail profile of the adapter engages, so that an almost line-like guidance further reduces the contact surfaces.
