Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrical plug connection for the detachable electrical connection of a power source, preferably a battery pack, to an electrical working device, the plug connection comprising at least a first electrical line for transmitting electrical power and at least a second electrical line for transmitting signals.
  • the plug connection consists of a plug with a plug body and one or more first plug contacts and a socket with first contact sockets, the plug contacts of the first electrical line being arranged inside the plug body.
  • Signal lines are required for communication between the electronics of a battery pack and the motor controller of an electrical working device, which are to be provided separately from the electrical lines transmitting power. Since the electrical lines for power transmission have to transmit high currents, appropriate line cross-sections are provided. The number of electrical lines to be connected via a plug connection leads to a considerable overall size. Large, clumsy plug connections are usually a nuisance when working with electrical equipment and impede work.
  • the U.S. 2007/0032102 A1 discloses a contact with a countersink formed in the contact surface.
  • the invention is based on the object of specifying an electrical plug-in connection for connecting a battery pack to an electrical working device, which is small, can transmit high electrical power and is mechanically and reliably secured in a simple manner.
  • the plug contact of the second electrical line is designed as an external contact that transmits signals in the area of an outer contour of the plug body.
  • the electrical contacts required for signal transmission can be shifted outwards from the center of the plug-in connection, as a result of which the diameter of the plug-in connection can be kept small.
  • a signal-transmitting mating contact on the socket is assigned to the signal-transmitting external contact of the plug-in body, with the configuration according to the invention being such that the signal-transmitting external contact and the signal-transmitting mating contact form a mechanical latching connection and the signal-transmitting mating contact being designed as a spring tongue.
  • the external contact for transmitting signals is arranged in a simple manner on the outer circumference of the plug body, so that the interior of the plug body can be used exclusively for the plug contacts of the electrical power transmission.
  • the signal-transmitting mating contact on the socket is preferably designed as a spring tongue, which not only ensures reliable electrical contact between the signal-transmitting external contact and the signal-transmitting mating contact, but also mechanical locking is achieved in a simple manner.
  • the signal-transmitting external contact has a latching recess, which is associated with a latching lug on the signal-transmitting mating contact.
  • the latching lug is preferably formed by the free end of the mating contact which transmits signals.
  • a ramp to be formed in front of the external contact in the insertion direction of the plug body.
  • the latching lug of the mating contact slides on the ramp of the plug body when the plug is inserted, whereby the user receives haptic feedback as to how far the plug has been inserted due to the increase in the plugging force to be applied.
  • the user can easily determine whether the plug is fully inserted into the socket. This is reported back to the user by exceeding a maximum insertion force and/or by a negative force (tractive force) generated by the design of the ramp.
  • the plug body of the plug advantageously has a plug end facing the socket and a connection end held in a plug housing.
  • a parting plane is expediently formed between the connection end and the plug housing, with the connection end and/or the plug housing having coupling fingers which protrude through the parting plane. If, in a particular embodiment of the invention, the interior of the plug body and the interior of the plug housing are filled with an injection molding compound, a mechanical connection between plug body and plug housing is produced via the injection molding compound. Since the coupling fingers protrude beyond the parting plane into the other part, a secure mechanical connection is achieved between the plug body and the plug housing, which can also withstand high pull-out forces.
  • the socket has a peripheral wall that delimits a receptacle for the plug body.
  • the mating contact is located radially outside the receptacle and protrudes into the receptacle with a free contact end through a receptacle slot in the peripheral wall. Due to the radial displacement of the mating contacts to the outside, the size of the connector can be kept small.
  • the contact end has a stop tongue, which delimits an overhang of the contact end protruding into the receiving space.
  • the overhang of the mating contact protruding into the receiving space is thus structurally fixed.
  • the plug-in contacts of the first lines transmitting electrical power are offset from one another.
  • the contact sockets are offset from one another. This staggered arrangement of the plug contacts or the contact sockets creates space in the connection area, which opens up a wide range of connection options for the electrical lines to the plug or to the socket.
  • the plug contacts are advantageously designed as contact tongues which interact with contact sockets designed as contact terminals.
  • the mating contact of the socket has a contact area for making electrical contact with the external contact.
  • An opening is advantageously formed in the contact area of the mating contact, as a result of which the electrical contact can be improved.
  • the contact area advantageously has a highest elevation. With its opening edge, the opening determines an opening surface which advantageously lies at a height distance below the highest elevation. When the highest elevation is on a contact surface, the opening surface of the opening is at a distance from the contact surface. It is advantageously provided that the width of the opening is wider than the width of the external contact. In the case of contacting, the external contact lies within the opening surface in a plan view of the opening. The highest elevations of the contact surface that still exist next to the opening are next to the external contact. In a side view of the external contact, there is an overlap between the mating contact and the external contact.
  • the external contact consists of a base body with two longitudinal edges. Since the width of the external contact measured between the longitudinal edges is smaller than the opening width of the opening, the longitudinal edges come into contact in at least one contact point on an opening edge of the opening in an electrically contacting manner.
  • a contact point at the front in the direction of insertion and a contact point at the rear in the direction of insertion are provided on each longitudinal edge. A total of four effective contact points can thus result, which ensures good electrical contact with interference-free signal transmission.
  • dirt and other interfering particles are reliably removed, which promotes reliable electrical contacting.
  • the geometric design of the opening is advantageously provided in such a way that an edge section of the opening edge of the opening bears against the external contact in an electrically contacting manner.
  • a front edge section of the opening edge in the insertion direction and a rear edge section of the opening edge in the insertion direction preferably rest against the external contact. In this way, two edge sections can be used for reliable electrical contact with interference-free signal transmission.
  • a plug connection 1 according to the invention is shown, which in the exemplary embodiment for the detachable electrical connection of a connecting line 16 to a power source, e.g. B. a battery pack 2 is provided.
  • the connection line 16 connects the battery pack 2 to an electrical working device 3, with the same plug connection as between the connecting line 16 and the battery pack 2 being provided between the connecting line 16 and the working device 3.
  • the plug-in connection 1 according to the invention is independent of the application between a battery pack 2 and a working device 3 given as an example and can also be provided for the detachable connection of other electrical connections.
