Definitions
- the present invention relates to a roller shutter system comprising at least one roller shutter, a guide for laterally guiding the roller shutter and a roller shutter box, in which the roller shutter can be wound up.
- Modern and in particular energy-efficient buildings are increasingly equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows to allow more light and solar heat into the building.
- the windows can be provided with a roller shutter system, since lowered roller shutters form, among other things, an additional heat-insulating layer in the region of the windows.
- the outer walls of low-energy buildings are typically clad with thermal insulation, e.g. with a 12 cm thick Styrofoam layer.
- the floor to ceiling windows can be opened.
- a so-called French balcony to the building in the area of the window. It is in the French balcony is not a balcony in the true sense, but rather a railing or another balustrade element, which is attached to a floor to ceiling windows on the building and only minimally protruding from the facade.
- a French balcony must be firmly anchored to the building in accordance with the relevant building regulations and generally accepted rules of technology. This means that in some cases very expensive constructions, in particular through the insulating layer and past the roller shutter system, have to be attached to the building. These are on the one hand very costly and on the other not always easy to manufacture.
- An object of the present invention is therefore to provide a simple way increased safety and comfort in floor to ceiling windows.
- the balustrade element provided in the roller shutter system, so that the balustrade element does not need to be attached as before by means of complex structures outside the shutter system on the building needs.
- the guidance of the roller shutter system comprises two pairs of guide rails, one of which is assigned to the balustrade element and the other pair to the roller shutter, it is also ensured that the roller shutter is actuated in the usual manner and, in particular, lowered completely despite the balustrade element can.
- the roller shutter system according to the invention can also be manufactured in a simple manner and reliably installed in a window opening of a building wall, whereby the guidance of the roller shutter system is flush with the building wall or an insulation layer additionally attached to the building wall that the management of the shutter is perceived as part of the building wall. Furthermore, the roller shutter system can be attached to the window floor of a window.
- the balustrade element is arranged in an area of the guide which is at a distance from and opposite the roller shutter box. This leads to a stiffening of the entire shutter system and thereby also allows a more accurate guidance of the shutter in its guide rails.
- the roller shutter box is arranged in the region of an upper end of the guide, in particular arranged above the window, while the Ballustradenelement is arranged in the region of a lower end of the guide.
- the balustrade element is firmly anchored in the guide, e.g. screwed into this, glued and / or pressed. This allows the balustrade element to take over the function of a conventional French balcony in a simple and reliable manner.
- the balustrade element By anchoring the balustrade element in the guide, the balustrade element is fixed in the second pair of guide rails. As a result, the safety of the roller shutter system is additionally increased since the balustrade element can not be moved along the guide rails, eg from bottom to top.
- the balustrade element can be made of different materials as well as in different forms. It can e.g. be made of glass, bulletproof glass, Plexiglas, frosted glass, plastic, stainless steel, aluminum or steel and be designed in the form of a disc or plate or alternatively in the form of a lattice railing. This allows the architect or contractor or builder to choose from a variety of materials to give the building its desired look.
- an insect or pollen guards out in the second pair of guide rails, i. So in the same pair of guide rails, in which the balustrade element is arranged, an insect or pollen guards out. This can be raised or lowered as needed, and prevents insects or pollen from entering the space behind the shutter system, e.g. Allergy sufferers to allow a more pleasant stay in the room.
- the insect or pollen protection grid can be wound up in the roller shutter box in addition to the roller shutter.
- a shade may be disposed in the second pair of guide rails which is disposed in the second pair of guide rails instead of an insect or pollen protective grid or in addition to an insect or pollen protective grid.
- the insect or pollen guards let down so far that it rests in the closed state on the balustrade element, so as to ensure that no insects or pollen between insect or pollen grid and balustrade element can pass through.
- a third pair of opposing guide rails is arranged in the guide.
- the insect or pollen guard is placed in the third pair of guide rails and can be lowered in the third pair of guide rails so that it can then close with a guide end, which is located in the region of the lower end of the guide.
- a blind may be disposed in the third pair of guide rails which is disposed in place of an insect or pollen protective grid or in addition to an insect or pollen guard in the third pair of guide rails.
- the roller shutter is mounted by means of springs or seals in the first pair of guide rails.
- the insect or pollen protection grid and / or the blind can be mounted by means of springs or gaskets in the second pair of guide rails or in the third pair of guide rails.
- the piping ensures that the respective guide rails or the roller shutters and the insect or pollen guards are not damaged by abrasion caused by intensive use.
- the piping also contributes to a better seal between the shutter and the guide, thereby reducing heat exchange.
- the roller shutter can be wound up or unwound by means of an associated drive motor in order to pull up or lower the roller shutter.
- the drive motor allows weaker people, such as small children to operate the roller shutter.
- the roller shutter controlled by a timer can be moved up or down at predetermined times, which contributes not least to an increase in burglar resistance.
- the insect or pollen protection grid can be driven by a motor.
- the insect or pollen protection grid can be coupled to the roller shutter or moved independently of the roller shutter.
- At least one motion sensor is provided to detect whether a person or a vehicle approaches a building equipped with the roller shutter system or with the roller shutter systems from the outside.
- the sensors can be arranged so that they cover a safety-relevant surrounding area and that they cause an automatic shutdown of the shutters upon detection of a person or a vehicle in the safety-relevant environment area.
- the roller shutter system is a fire protection roller shutter system, which prevents by the appropriate choice of material in case of fire that the fire can spread quickly.
- a building 10 is shown, which is equipped with several shutter systems.
- the building 10 shown is a row house. However, it could also be a row center house or a freestanding building.
- the building 10 has an entrance door 12 and a plurality of windows 13, 14, five of which can be seen in the figure. On the rear side of the building facing away from the front door 12 at least one further window and possibly a patio door is provided.
- windows 13, 14 are two ground floor windows 13 and three windows 14, which are located on the first floor and are each formed floor-deep.
- the ground floor windows 13 and the floor to ceiling windows 14 may each be equipped with shutters 16, 17.
- the shutter systems of the windows 14 are each 2.6 m high and depending on the window between 1.2 m and 3 m wide.
- the exact dimensions of the roller shutter system can be adapted to all standard windows or to custom-made.
- Each of the first-floor windows 14 is provided with a shutter system which includes a balustrade 24 which performs the function of a French balcony.
- the balustrade element 24 is a glass pane that extends across the width of the window 14 and is firmly anchored in a guide 26 of the shutter system.

- the insect or pollen guard 20 is disposed in a third pair of guide rails 62.
- the insect or pollen guard 20 is in the Fig. 7 pulled down and rests on a guide end 64.
- the closing element 48 is arranged on the balustrade element 24 in such a way that a form-fitting closure between the balustrade element 24 and the second pair of guide rails is ensured, so that, for example, no rainwater can get into the guide 26 of the shutter system.
- the balustrade element 24 is arranged in the shutter system so that it is still visible outside the building 10 when the shutter 16 is closed.
- the guide end 64 may be inserted in the guide system to seal the shutter 16, the insect or pollen guard 20 and the balustrade 24 also horizontally in the region of the lower end of the guide 26 with respect to the guide 26, to ensure at this interface, that no insects or pollen can penetrate into the living space.
- the Fig. 8 shows a section along the section line D: D of in Fig. 7 shown shutter system.
- the roller shutter 16 is mounted by means of two piping 46 in the first pair of guide rails 52. Furthermore, from the in Fig. 8 shown section that between the insect or pollen guard 20 and the third pair of guide rails 62, two more piping 46 are provided.
- the Fig. 9 shows a section along the section line E: E of in Fig. 7 shown roller shutter system, ie a longitudinal section through a roller shutter system.
- the arrangement of the shutter 16, the guide 26 with its guide rails 52, 54, 62 of the balustrade element 24 and the insect or pollen protection grid 20 are shown.
- this is installed in the third guide rail 62.
- the guide 26 is made of a high-quality aluminum, but can be made of a variety of materials, as long as this material is suitable for use as a roller shutter guide.
- the side parts of the guide 26 are preferably extruded in one piece, so that the side parts of the opposite pairs of guide rails 52, 54, 56 are each realized in one piece by means of a profile.
- the side parts could also consist of a plurality of individual components (such as two or three pairs of individual guide rails 52, 54, 62) which can be glued together, welded or assembled as desired during the assembly of the guide 26.
- the guide 26 or the pairs of guide rails 52, 54, 62 can be made in any manner known to those skilled in the art.
- the balustrade element 24 may also be disposed between the roller shutter 16 and the insect or pollen protective grid 20, or the insect or pollen protective grid 20 may be disposed between the balustrade element 24 and the roller shutter 16 so that any desired arrangement of the pairs of guide rails 52, 54, 62 can be realized.
- a shutter 21 may also be arranged in the second pair of guide rails 54, should three pairs of guide rails be provided in the shutter system, a shutter 21 may be arranged in the third pair of guide rails 54, 62, the shutter 21 may be replaced by an insect screen. or pollen guard 20 or in addition to an insect or pollen guard 20 in the second and third pair of guide rails 54, 62 are arranged.
- each roller shutter 16, 17 each have a drive motor 18 (FIG. Fig. 10 ), eg a tubular motor, can be assigned by which the associated roller shutter 16, 17 can be automatically lowered or raised.
- the drive motors 18 In order to allow a particularly rapid lowering of the shutters 16, 17, the drive motors 18 have a rotational speed of more than 16 revolutions per minute.
- the drive motors 18 are controlled by a central switching device 36.
- the drive motors 18 are connected for this purpose via a wireless connection, such as a radio link, with corresponding control outputs 34 of the switching device 36.
- a connection by electrical lines is possible.
- the shutter system comprises three mounted on the outside of the building 10 sensors 22, in the present embodiment, motion detectors that are positioned so that they can monitor a safety-related environment of the building 10.
- the depth of the safety-relevant surrounding area should be selected as a function of the closing speed of the shutters 16, 17 such that the shutters 16, 17 can be completely lowered upon detection of a suspicious person who has entered the safety-relevant surrounding area before the suspicious person the shutters 16, 17 can get. It makes sense that the sensors 22 should therefore monitor an approximately 5 m to 15 m deep surrounding area.
- the number of sensors 22 is not limited to three.
- the sensors 22 also need not necessarily be attached to the building 10. It is also possible for the sensors 22 to be located on objects in the area of the building 10, e.g. Posts, trees, walls, fences or adjacent buildings.
- the senor 22 can distinguish between humans and animals, so that erroneous triggering of the shutter system by animals can be avoided.
- Motion detectors capable of this are e.g. known from the military field.
- sensors may be used to monitor the building environment, such as pressure sensitive mats or photocells, which may be placed at selected access points or potential breakpoints to detect the approach of a suspect or suspect vehicle to the building 10 to be protected Shutters 16, 17 lower in time.
- the sensors 22 are connected to the central switching device 36.
- this is a wireless connection, such as a radio link.
- connections by means of electrical lines in question are possible.
- the shutter system can be controlled by means of a trigger device 38 connected to the switching device 36, e.g. a key switch, activate, i. So turn on or off.
- a trigger device 38 connected to the switching device 36, e.g. a key switch, activate, i. So turn on or off.
- the sensors 22 are activated and the monitoring of the safety-relevant surrounding area of the building 10 is started.
- the shutters 16, 17 are moved down when arming the system by an adjustable amount.
- the amount by which the shutters 16, 17 are shut down when the system is turned on is controlled by means of an adjustment means 40 included in the switching device 36, e.g. Rotary knob, adjustable and should move in a range of about 10 cm to 50 cm and be, for example, about 20 cm.
- an adjustment means 40 included in the switching device 36, e.g. Rotary knob, adjustable and should move in a range of about 10 cm to 50 cm and be, for example, about 20 cm.
- the partial lowering of the shutters 16, 17 signals on the one hand the armed state of the system.
- the shutters 16, 17 can be closed more quickly from this partially lowered position when a suspicious person approaches the building 10. Nevertheless, in the armed state sufficient light can still pass through the windows 13, 14 into the building 10 in order not to significantly affect the quality of life within the building 10.
- the switching device 20 of the present embodiment further includes a timing circuit 42 that allows all shutters 16, 17 or only selected shutters 16, 17 to automatically fully descend or drive up at pre-programmed times, thereby simulating the presence of residents.
- a timer 42 is also referred to as a vacation circuit.
- the switching device 36 It is possible to arm the switching device 36 while activating the holiday circuit 42 at the same time.
- the shutters 16, 17 are completely lowered at predetermined time intervals or partly raised again, i. So up to the specified focus.
- the sensor 22 If the penetration of a suspicious person into the safety-relevant surrounding area of the building 10 is detected by one of the sensors 22, the sensor 22 outputs a corresponding signal to the switching device 36.
- the switching device 36 in turn outputs a corresponding signal to the drive motors 18 to completely shut down the shutters 16, 17.
- the switching device 36 can be coupled to an alarm system 44, which is activated by the switching device 36 upon detection of a suspicious person in the safety-relevant surrounding area and outputs a visual or audible warning signal or notifies a building supervisor, a security company or a police department.
- a deactivation of the armed shutter system can, as already mentioned, in principle be achieved by a corresponding actuation of the trigger device 38.
- the switching device 36 in this case ensures that the shutters 16, 17 are fully pulled back up. Such deactivation of the system may occur regardless of whether a suspect has been detected, ie, the shutters 16, 17 have been completely lowered or not.
- the switching device 36 may be configured to have the shutters 16, 17 at least for a predetermined time period or up to a predetermined time , eg until the next morning, remain in the fully lowered state and only then driven back up in the predetermined by the holiday circuit 42 rhythm or down.
- the holiday circuit 42 and the control outputs 34 for the drive motors 18 are integrated in the switching device 36, but of course can also be integrated into separate circuits (not shown).
