  • Therapy tables with a frame device, a hip support section for receiving a hip area of a patient, an upper body support section for receiving an upper body of the patient and at least one support element which is arranged in the area of the hip support section and can be locked with respect to the hip support section or immovable with respect to the hip support section are known from the market .
  • the patient lies with the upper body on the upper body support section and with his hip on the hip support section.
  • the patient can hold on to the support element during the treatment and a Back pain can be treated, for example, by pivoting the upper body support section.
  • Lockable with respect to the hip support section or immovable with respect to the hip support section means here that the support element is either completely immovable in a position in which it can be gripped by the patient to support the patient or can be brought into such a position and in this position is either completely immovably fixable or in this position offers a resistance to displacement or pivoting, this resistance being sufficient to move the upper body support section by being supported on the support element relative to the hip support section when the patient rests on the upper body support section and hip support section.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a therapy couch that is structurally simple and therefore inexpensive to manufacture and which can be used advantageously for the extension or traction of the human spine, in particular for use in spinal decompression or spinal decompression can.
  • spinal decompression the intervertebral discs, which are arranged between individual vertebral bodies, are relieved or decromimated. The decompression ensures an increased supply of the intervertebral discs with nutrients and fluids, which has a positive effect on the well-being of the Patient, especially if they have disc problems.
  • the object mentioned at the beginning is achieved by a therapy couch according to claim 1.
  • the therapy couch according to the invention is characterized in that the hip support section is fixedly connected to the frame device in an operating position of the therapy couch and that the upper body support section can be displaced relative to the hip support section via a pressure movement of the patient against the support element along a displacement axis by the patient's physical strength.
  • the therapy couch according to the invention can be manufactured inexpensively and works efficiently. It is envisaged that in an intended position of the patient on the therapy couch, the displacement axis can be arranged parallel to a section, preferably to the predominant course, of the patient's spine. The displacement axis is preferably arranged horizontally at least in one operating position of the therapy bed.
  • the hip support section offers a fixed anchor point for the patient's hips, while the upper body support section can be displaced or moved via a pressure movement of the patient during which he presses against the support element.
  • the relative movement between the hip support section and the upper body support section relieves or decompresses the intervertebral discs in the patient.
  • the patient can then stop the pressure movement, as a result of which the displaceable upper body support section returns to its starting position and the intervertebral discs return to their original load condition, that is to say are compressed again.
  • This unloading and loading can be over be repeated for a longer period of time, which leads to an increased supply of the intervertebral discs with nutrients, which has a beneficial effect on the patient's well-being.
  • the therapy bed includes a force-limiting device, via which the support element can be locked with respect to the hip support section.
  • the force limiting device is designed such that it holds or locks the support element in a position opposite the hip support section until a force acting on the support element exceeds a force limit. If the force acting on the support element exceeds the force limit, the support element moves with respect to the hip support section.

  • the force limiting device can, for example, comprise a pressure cylinder which can be designed hydraulically or pneumatically. It is also conceivable that the force limiting device comprises a spring which is designed with a pretensioning force.
  • the spring can be designed as a compression, tension or bending spring.
  • the force-limiting device is designed in such a way that when the force limit is exceeded, the support element can be displaced away from the upper body support section. It is advantageous if the support element can be pivoted. It is particularly advantageous if the support element is pivotably connected to the force limiting device.
  • the force limiting devices described above make it possible to limit a force with which the patient moves the upper body support section away from the hip support section by means of his pressure movement to a certain force limit. This can efficiently prevent overstressing of joints, ligaments and muscles.
  • the upper body support section is tensioned along the displacement axis via a pretensioning device towards the hip support section.
  • the upper body support section thus moves reliably into its intended starting position when the patient does not exert any pressure on the support element or the support elements.
  • Such a tension of the upper body support section via a pretensioning device towards the hip support section can be implemented, for example, via a pretensioning device which comprises a spring and / or a pressure cylinder.
  • the support element can be locked in various pivoting positions. It can thus be ensured that the support element is always aligned in the ideal position with respect to the upper body support section.
