Definitions
- the present invention relates to a modular connector.
- Modular connectors are used in a wide variety of technical applications.
- the modular plug connectors are based on the technical principle of forwarding several different signals or currents, including electrical currents and / or fluid flows and / or light, via a plurality of plug modules and mating plug modules which are connected to one another when the plug and the mating plug of the modular plug connector are connected.
- a connector module and a mating connector module form a pair of connector modules via which a certain desired signal or a desired current or a desired fluid flow or a desired light or a desired luminous flux, which is, for example, a luminous flux for optoelectronic data transmission, can be passed on.
- a typical application of a modular connector concerns the supply of a system with different signals or different currents with a system control remote from the system.
- An example of a modular connector is from the EP 1 353 412 A2 known.
- the DE 102 43 899 A1 shows a connector for connecting electrical devices, in particular for connecting electronic immobilizers in automobiles. To protect against theft, the connector has additional pins that are made of a shape memory alloy.
- the CN 101 378 160 A shows a two-pin connector with locking tabs formed on the side of the connector body.
- the US 3,801,954 A shows a connector with a locking element, which is made of a shape memory material, here Nitinol.
- the EP 2 728 677 B1 shows a locking system that works with a shape memory material, which can assume a locking and a release state depending on the temperature.
- the plug and mating plug can be disconnected under load, in which, among other things, the plug module and the mating plug module of the plug module pair (or the plug module pairs) from one another be separated, which transmits the high electrical current, a high risk in the form of an arc caused by the separation result.
- an unintentional disconnection of the connector and mating connector can also result in a system stop, for example, which can lead to production damage in an industrial production system.
- the modular plug connector according to the invention has a plug with a plurality of plug modules and a mating plug with a plurality of mating plug modules, in each of which a plug module and a mating plug module form a pair of plug modules.
- the plug and the mating plug can assume an interconnected state, in which the plug module and mating plug module of each of the plug module pairs are connected to one another.
- the connector and the mating connector can assume a separate state, in which the connector module and mating connector module of each of the connector module pairs are detached from one another.
- the modular plug connector according to the invention is characterized in that at least one of the plug module pairs has at least one locking device which, when the plug and the mating plug are connected, can assume a locking state in which it prevents the plug module and the mating plug module of this plug module pair from being detached from one another, and one Release state in which connector module and mating connector module of this connector module pair can be detached from each other.
- the plug module pairs has at least one such locking device, in the connected state of the plug and mating plug, loosening or unintentional loosening or disconnection of the plug and the mating plug from one another can advantageously be prevented, namely by the fact that the locking device in the connected state assumes the locking state or is transferred to the locking state in which the locking device prevents the plug module and the mating plug module of this pair of plug modules from being detached from one another.
- the provision of the locking device which is only provided on at least one of the plug module pairs, can significantly reduce the effort required to secure the connection of the plug and mating plug.
- the installation space to be provided for securing the connection can also be significantly reduced, since the locking device can be spatially limited to one or at least one pair of plug modules.
- At least one pair of plug modules has at least one of these locking devices, with which, when the plug and mating plug are connected, the plug can be released in a simple and practical manner and the mating connector can be prevented from each other.
- a complex external attachment of locking devices can advantageously be avoided when using the modular plug connector according to the invention.
- the expensive use of known plug-in devices, in which a comparatively large amount of cost-intensive noble metal is generally processed, can also be advantageously dispensed with.
- the use of known plug-in devices can be particularly advantageously avoided in the installation area.
- the locking device can either be provided on the plug module of the plug module pair or on the mating plug module of the plug module pair or distributed over the plug module and the mating plug module on the plug module pair.
- the modular connector in the connected state of the plug and the mating connector, there is at least one pair of plug modules as a power line or as at least one power line and / or at least one pair of plug modules as a light line or as at least one light line and / or at least one pair of plug modules as a fluid line or designed as at least one fluid line.

- plug module pairs of the modular plug connector in the connected state have to be designed as at least one power line or as at least one light line or as at least one fluid line.
- at least one plug module pair of the modular plug connector can also be formed from a so-called blind module and a counter-blind module, which only occupy one unused slot or module space in the plug or mating connector.
- not all slots or module locations of the connector and mating connector of a modular connector are used.
- a dummy module or counter-dummy module which is not used to transmit electricity or light or fluid (such as air), in particular to prevent undesired moisture penetration or to meet other security requirements or compressed air, for example).
- the connector modules are preferably received or firmly received in a holding frame of the connector and the mating connector modules of the mating connector are received or firmly received in a retaining frame of the mating connector.
- the plug modules and the mating plug modules can be detachably received in the respective holding frame or can be fixed and detachably received.
- the locking device changes from the released state to the locked state and when the modular plug connector or the plug module pair decreases with the locking device from the locked state to the released state, or the locking device is set up for this purpose when the temperature of the modular connector or the pair of plug modules with the locking device increases from the release state to the locking state and when the temperature of the modular connector or the connector module pair decreases with the locking device from the locking state to the release state.
- the locking device can change from the release state into the locking state, thereby preventing the plug and the mating plug from being inadvertently separated from one another, particularly advantageously when high electrical currents are transmitted via the plug module pair.
- the modular connector is under load, so that, in particular, a risk from unintentional disconnection of the connector and mating connector can be effectively avoided.
- the main danger is that the disconnection creates a dangerous arc.
- a condition-dependent securing of the connection of the plug and mating plug can be realized particularly advantageously, which effectively increases personal protection, so that the handling of the modular plug connector can be made possible not only for experts but also for other users.
- the network quality is also improved by effectively avoiding unintentional disconnection of the plug and mating plug.
- the locking device is set up with the locking device when a predetermined temperature of the modular plug connector is exceeded or when a predetermined temperature of a plug module pair or the plug module pair is exceeded to go into the locked state.

- the predetermined temperature is preferably within a range of 5 degrees to 10 degrees Celsius above the ambient temperature.
- the locking device can be designed to form or establish a positive and / or non-positive connection between the plug module and the mating plug module in the locked state.
- the locking device can be set up to press the plug module and the mating plug module together.
- the locking device has at least one element made of a shape memory alloy.

- the element expands from the shape memory alloy (as above out) and due to the expansion, the locking device changes from the released state into the locked state and when the temperature decreases, in particular when the temperature decreases by the predetermined amount, the element from the shape memory alloy (as explained above) contracts or contracts again and the locking device moves from the locked state to the released state by contracting.
- a predetermined dimension for example 10 degrees Celsius relative to room temperature or ambient temperature
- the predetermined degree of temperature increase or decrease which depends not only on the material properties of the shape memory alloy used but also on the thermodynamic properties of the modular connector, is typically within a range from 5 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius.
- a very compact locking device and therefore also a very compact modular connector with a very compact or small size can be realized particularly advantageously, which can be realized particularly advantageously without complex mechanical actuators.
- the temperature of the connector module pair or the temperature of the modular connector - e.g.

- the locking device assumes the locked state in particular in that the movement element forms or establishes a positive or non-positive or a positive and non-positive connection between the connector module and the mating connector module.
- the closing signal can in particular be in the form of a "zero signal”, so that if the actuation system is not activated with a voltage or a signal, the locked state is assumed or maintained.
- the opening signal can also be in the form of a “zero signal”, so that if the actuation system is not activated with a voltage or a signal, the release state is assumed or maintained.
- the plug module preferably has the actuator system and the mating connector module has a receptacle in which the connecting element can be received in the closed position, or the mating connector module has the actuator system and the connector module has a receptacle in which the connecting element can be received in the closed position.

Fig. 1A weist ein Steckermodulpaar 20 eine Arretierungseinrichtung 22 auf. Fig. 1D ). Fig.1C ).
Fig. 2B ) als Stromleitung 42 ausgebildet.
Fig. 2D ) und einer Schließposition (vgl.
