Definitions
- the invention relates on the one hand to a lid part of a metallurgical melting vessel for covering an opening in a cavity of a pan part of the metallurgical melting vessel.
- a splash guard in the form of bead elements consisting of a sealing compound is usually provided on the upper edge region.
- This additional sealing compound can reduce the risk of the lid part caking directly with the pan part.
- these bead elements must first be applied with a large amount of personnel and, on the other hand, they must also be removed from the metallurgical melting vessel later, together with the processing, which can even increase the cleaning effort.
- the object of the invention according to independent claim 1 is to further develop generic cover parts of metallurgical melting vessels and related metallurgical melting vessels in such a way that at least the aforementioned disadvantages can be overcome.
- the object of the invention is achieved on the one hand by a lid part of a metallurgical melting vessel for covering an opening of a cavity of a pan part of the metallurgical melting vessel, the lid part according to the invention having a collar part which can protrude into the cavity of the pan part in order to reduce the risk of fading on the metallurgical melting vessel to reduce.
- This collar part which protrudes into the cavity, can not only be structurally very simply prevented that the lid part and the pan part bake together critically due to solidified metal melt. Rather, the risk of bear formation per se can be significantly reduced in the present case, as a result of which subsequent cleaning work, both with regard to the lid part and with regard to the pan part, is ideally completely eliminated.
- a preferred embodiment variant provides that the collar part is designed so as to protrude beyond a socket part contact surface formed on the underside of the cover part such that the collar part projects into the cavity of the socket part when the cover part is properly placed on the socket part.
- the upper edge region of the socket part can thereby are shielded by foaming and / or splashing parts of the metallic melt, whereby the risk of fogging can be reduced to a minimum.
- the pan part contact surface is preferably formed by the lower lid edge of the lid part.
- the length of the collar part is selected such that it is arranged above the metallic melt and does not dip into it.
- the object of the invention is also achieved by a metallurgical melting vessel with a pan part comprising a cavity for receiving a metallic melt and with a lid part for covering an opening of this cavity solved, in which the cavity is at least partially delimited by a wall of the pan part, wherein according to the invention the metallurgical melting vessel has a spray protection device extending into the cavity with a collar part which, when the cover part is properly placed on the pan part, is at least partially radially inside next to an inner wall side of the wall is arranged.
- the transition area between the pan part and the lid part is particularly well shielded from splashing metallic melt.
- the wall of the pan part consists, for example, of a refractory lining. Or this wall is coated with a fireproof spray compound or the like with regard to its inner wall side in order to protect the metallurgical melting vessel in the area of direct contact between the metallic melt and the pan part against excessive thermal stress.
- bearings on a lance element or the like guided through the cover part from the outside inwards for blowing process gases onto or into the metallic melt can be significantly reduced or, ideally, they can be avoided almost completely.
- the metallurgical melting vessel can be used excellently in gas inflation processes.
- the collar part by more than 1/6 or more than 1/4 of the inner wall side height of a wall of the socket part into the cavity of the socket part protrudes, since baking of metallic melt in the transition area between the pan part and the lid part can thereby be prevented.
- a critical deterioration can almost be ruled out if the collar part protrudes more than 200 mm, preferably more than 500 mm, into the cavity of the pan part.
- the collar part is arranged at a distance from an inner wall side of the wall of the socket part such that an intermediate space is formed between a collar part outer side of the collar part and an inner wall side of the wall. Heated gas can get into this intermediate space, so that even the uppermost or the most distant edge region of the pan part can be heated well.
- a particularly preferred embodiment variant provides that the collar part has an outer collar part diameter which is smaller than an inner cavity diameter such that a gas convection space is arranged between an outer collar part side and an inner wall side of a wall of the socket part.
- the collar part has a sufficiently smaller collar part outer diameter than the cavity inner diameter, good gas convection can always be achieved between the collar part and the wall of the socket part, as a result of which both the upper edge region of the socket part and the collar part can be heated particularly uniformly.
- a sufficiently large gas convection space between the collar part and the inner wall side of the pan part can be guaranteed if the collar part is spaced from an inner wall side of a pan part wall by more than 100 mm, preferably by more than 200 mm.
- the collar part is spaced from an inner wall side of a pan part wall by less than 400 mm, preferably by less than 300 mm, it can always be avoided that splashing parts or the like of the metallic melt reach the upper edge region of the pan part.
- the collar part can be integrated in a structurally simple manner into the metallurgical melting vessel if the collar part is cylindrical and in particular is arranged concentrically around the central axis of the cover part or of the metallurgical melting vessel.
- the collar part is preferably arranged concentrically around a lance element, such as, for example, around an oxygen lance element or the like, so that not only can the pan and lid part become excellent, but also bear formation in the region of the lance element can be prevented or at least significantly reduced ,
- the spray protection device or the collar part can be designed in different ways on the metallurgical melting vessel.
- the spray protection device or the collar part can be realized in a particularly simple construction on the metallurgical melting vessel if the collar part is fixedly arranged on the cover part.
- the cover part in which the fastening elements consist of chains which are preferably adjustable in length. This ensures that the collar part protrudes into the metallurgical vessel in an optimal manner and to an optimal extent, depending on requirements and / or process control.
- the collar part is preferably formed in one piece with the cover part.
- the collar part itself is not formed in one piece, but rather consists of more than one, particularly preferably three or four, preferably uniform collar part elements which, when put together, form a collar part which essentially encloses the entire circumference of the cover part. It is very preferred if a small gap, preferably a gap with a dimension of more than 5 mm, preferably more than 10 mm, remains between these collar part elements in the installed state, in particular thermal expansions of the individual collar part elements, very preferably different thermal expansions across the collar part circumference to record.
- the collar part elements are attached to the cover part such that a pivoting movement of the collar part elements relative to one another is made possible. In this way it can be achieved that caking or bearings of different thicknesses can easily be compensated for by swiveling the collar part elements apart over the height of the collar part.
- the collar part is not attached concentrically to the cover part, but rather eccentrically, in order to make it possible to counteract asymmetrically occurring effects on the collar part during operation of the metallurgical vessel.
- the reaction and / or stirring gases are introduced into the cavity not via a centrally and vertically arranged lance, but rather via a laterally offset and / or obliquely arranged lance, an irregular or at least asymmetrical bath movement takes place within the cavity as well as an asymmetrical reaction behavior of the bath surface, finally also the slag on the bath surface or in relation to splashes emerging from the bath surface.
- the collar part can also have different wall thicknesses over the entire circumference, in order to counteract, in particular, asymmetrical influences from the process control. Where greater exposure to heat and / or a stronger build-up is to be expected, it may be preferred to provide a thicker design of the collar part, for example a collar part wall that is preferably 10% thicker compared to the smallest wall thickness of the collar part. In this context, an embodiment is particularly preferred in which one or more segments of a collar part segmented over the circumference of the collar part have a different wall thickness than the other collar part segments.
- pan freeboard for example, both for VD (vacuum degassing) operation and for VOD (vacuum oxygen decarburization) operation.
- the metallurgical melting vessel 1 shown essentially consists of a pan 9 and a lid part 3, the pan 9 being arranged within a tank 10.
- the metallurgical melting vessel 1 is, by way of example, a component of a VOD system (not shown here) Use of the metallurgical melting vessel 1 is not limited to such a VOD system.
- the metallurgical melting vessel 1 serves to produce a metallic melt (not shown), which is located in a cavity 4 of the pan 9.
- the cavity 4 is accessible at the top 5 of the pan part via an opening 6, this opening 6 being delimited by an upper edge region 7 of the pan 9.
- the system 2 has a pan 9 with a refractory wall 8, which in turn can withstand the extremely high temperatures of the metallic melt.
- the pan 9 is arranged inside a tank 10.
- the wall 8 has an inner wall side 11 which faces the cavity 4.
- the inner wall side 11 in this case has an inner wall side height 12 which extends from the inner side 13 of the bottom region 14 of the pan part 2 to a support surface 15 for the cover part 3 at the upper edge region 7 of the pan part 2.
- the cavity 4 also has an internal cavity diameter 16, which in this exemplary embodiment is constant from the base region 14 to the upper edge region 7.
- the lid part 3 serves to close the pan part 2 or its cavity 4 and accordingly it is placed from above on the upper edge region 7 of the pan part 2 or on the support surface 15 provided there.
- the metallurgical melting vessel 1 has a spray protection device 25, which in this exemplary embodiment is implemented as a collar part 26, which is formed on the cover part 3 and can protrude into the cavity 4 of the socket part 2.
- the collar part 26 is here cylindrical in shape on the cover part 3 and in this case extends circularly and concentrically around the central axis 29 of the cover part 3 and also of the metallurgical melting vessel 1
- the collar part 26 protrudes by about 600 mm beyond the underside 20 of the cover part 3, so that it protrudes far into the cavity 4 when the cover part 3 is properly mounted on the socket part 2 and thus shields the transition region 28 spatially well against the metallic melt.
- the collar part 26 formed by the cover part 3 is located radially further inward next to the inner wall side 11 of the wall 8 of the pan part 2.
- the collar part 26 protrudes by approximately 1/6 or more of the inner wall side height 12 of the wall 8 of the pan part 2 into the cavity 4 of this pan part 2, as a result of which in particular the upper edge region 7 of the pan part 2 on the inner wall side 11 from splashing of the metallic melt is well protected.
- a gas convection chamber 32 which acts effectively in this regard is configured on the metallurgical melting vessel 1, since the collar part 26 has a collar part outer diameter 33 (see Figure 2 ), which is smaller compared to a cavity inner diameter 16 such that the gas convection space 32 is formulated between a collar part outer side 30 and the inner wall side 11 of the socket part 2.
- the gas convection chamber 32 ensures that, in particular, the upper edge region 7 of the socket part 2 on the one hand and also the collar part 26 on the other hand can heat up particularly uniformly, so that solidification of the metallic melt can be prevented there to a critical extent.
- the collar part 26 is arranged along its circumference at a constant distance of more than 200 mm, preferably 275 mm, from the inner wall side 11 of the socket part 2.
- a distance that is variable over the circumference preferably from 200 to 400 mm, can be set for an eccentric arrangement.
- the uniform heating of the collar part 26 and the upper edge region 7 prevents bear formation both on the outside and on the inside of the collar part 26 and between the inside wall 11 and the collar part 26.
- a lance element 34 for blowing oxygen can be guided centrally through the cover part 3, which protrudes into the collar part 26, the collar part 26 concentrically surrounding this lance element 34.
