Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sound absorber for free hanging in a room with a sound absorber element forming a cavity, and with a sound absorber element holding frame having at least one attachment point for the suspension of the sound absorber and at least two opposite bearing surfaces, on each of which a front end of the Sound absorber element abut.
  • Cylindrical sound absorbers are known from EP142651 1 A1. At the upper and lower ends of a hollow cylindrical Schallabsorberelements a cover is mounted, which together form a frame by means of a central rod to mechanically stabilize the sound absorbing element and to provide a suspension. Disadvantageously, such sound absorbers do not achieve the required sound reduction.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object, starting from the above-described prior art, to improve a sound absorber in its sound reduction.
  • this sound absorber should be easy to manufacture in production and be inexpensive.
  • the invention solves this problem by the bottom-side cavity opening of the cavity of the sound absorber element is open to the outside of the sound absorber, for which purpose the frame-shaped frame extends along the longitudinal side of the sound absorber element and ends in a support surface for the bottom end side end of the sound absorber element.

  • the sound-transporting gas is thus in direct contact with the inside of the sound-absorbing element and thus with both the outside surface and the inside surface of the sound-absorbing element, which can be used for a high level of soundproofing.
