  1. Apparatus (1) for curling a lock of hair comprising:
    - a gripping means (2),
    - a housing (10) attached to the gripping means and having an inner wall (13), said housing (10) comprising:
    - a mandrel (12) attached to the housing (10) by one of the ends thereof and substantially surrounded by the inner wall (13),
    - an insertion opening (15) for inserting the lock of hair, said insertion opening (15) being formed through the inner wall (13) and an extraction opening (16) for extracting the curl, said extraction opening (16) being formed through the inner wall (13) at the free end of the mandrel (12),
    - a winder (17, 17') capable of being driven in rotation about the mandrel (12) intended to wind the lock of hair about the mandrel (12), said winder (17, 17') comprising a hollow body (21, 21')
    - having a surface of a body of revolution,
    - forming with the inner wall (13) an outer winding chamber (50) outside of the hollow body (21, 21') into which the lock of hair is inserted through the insertion opening (15),
    said winder (17, 17') surrounding the mandrel (12) at least partially along the length thereof in order to form therewith an inner winding chamber (40) inside the hollow body (21, 21') from which the curled lock of hair can leave the apparatus (1) through said extraction opening (16),
    said hollow body (21, 21') having, on the free end (210, 210') thereof, an opening (6, 6') intended to allow the lock of hair to move to the inner winding chamber (40),
    characterised in that said hollow body (21) comprises at least one part having a revolving frustoconical shape (21b) of axis of revolution (R) having a narrowed end (171) relative to the mandrel (12) and a flared end (172) relative to the mandrel (12).
  2. Apparatus according to the previous claim, characterised in that said mandrel (12) has a cylindrical shape with an axis of revolution (R) and in that said inner winding chamber (40) and the outer winding chamber (50) are substantially concentric to said axis of revolution (R).
  3. Apparatus according to one of the previous claims, characterised in that the radial distance (d2) of the space between the narrowed end (171) of the hollow body (21) and the mandrel (12) lies in the range 2.5 mm to 4 mm, preferably in the range 3 mm to 3.5 mm.
  4. Apparatus according to one of the previous claims, characterised in that the angle of the cone (β) lies in the range 5° to 30°, preferably in the range 19° to 21°.
  5. Apparatus according to one of the previous claims, characterised in that the winder (17, 17') has, at the front of the opening (6, 6'), and at the edge of the hollow body (21, 21'), at least one hook (19, 19') oriented such that it protrudes and extends towards the outside of the winder 17, 17' intended to grasp a lock of hair.
  6. Apparatus according to the previous claim, characterised in that the winder (17, 17') has, at the front of the opening (6, 6'), and at the edge of the hollow body (21, 21'), two hooks (19, 19') on either side thereof, said hooks (19, 19') being arranged opposite each other and are symmetrical relative to a plane of symmetry (P) passing through the axis (R).
  7. Apparatus according to the previous claim, characterised in that the ratio of the distance (b") between the ends of the hooks (19) to the width (161) of the insertion opening lies in the range 2 to 3, preferably 2.67.
  8. Apparatus according to one of the previous claims, characterised in that the hollow body (21, 21') has, on the rim of the opening (6, 6'), a ridge (61) extending towards the outside of the hollow body (21, 21').
  9. Apparatus according to one of the previous claims, characterised in that it comprises heating means (30) for heating the winding chambers that are arranged in said mandrel (12).
  10. Method for using an apparatus for curling a lock of hair according to claim 5, characterised in that it comprises the following steps:
    - (i) inserting a lock of hair to be curled longitudinally through the insertion opening of the appliance,
    - (ii) rotating the winder, a hook on an edge of the winder grasping the lock of hair then, allowing the lock of hair to be wound inside both the inner and outer winding chambers,
    - (iii) continuing to rotate the winder so that the entire portion of the lock of hair wound inside the outer winding chamber is moved and wound inside the inner winding chamber.
