Definitions
- the present invention relates to a mirrored window pane for use in vehicles, in particular rail vehicles such as Trains or trams, as well as a vehicle equipped with such window panes.
- the window pane has a transparent, structured and electrically conductive metallization.
- Rail vehicles for passenger transport will have availability of current communication services such as Mobile voice communication, mobile data communication, etc. on the basis of GSM, UMTS and in the future also on the basis of Long Term Evolution (LTE), a fourth generation mobile radio standard, will be increasingly demanded.
- Good network coverage and corresponding reception quality are therefore also important in vehicles, especially in public transport, e.g. Trains, trams, etc. in demand.
- Mirrored window panes in these vehicles represent an obstacle to good reception.
- the mirroring is used as sun protection and is intended to prevent a vehicle from being heated up undesirably by heat radiation.
- the mirroring of the window panes not only reflects the heat radiation or sun rays, but also other electronic magnetic waves such as electromagnetic waves for mobile communication services of radio communication devices.
- the vehicle therefore has a high transmission loss for electromagnetic waves and acts like a Faraday shear Cage.
- the attenuation is around 30 dB.
- the shielding is therefore approx. 99.9%.
- intrain repeaters are known from the prior art, such as from http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intrain-Repeater known to overcome the passage loss. Intrain repeaters are used to improve communication between a mobile device (e.g. mobile phone, tablet PC, smartphone, etc.) and a radio communication device that is located outside the vehicle (e.g. cellular network, etc.) and to enable a communication connection that is as free of interference as possible .
- a mobile device e.g. mobile phone, tablet PC, smartphone, etc.
- radio communication device e.g. cellular network, etc.
- window panes for use in vehicles (for example motor vehicles, etc.), by means of which the reception quality for mobile devices (for example cell phones, etc.) in the interior of a vehicle is increased - even without the use of a repeater.
- This window pane is provided with an electrically conductive, transparent layer.
- This layer is applied, for example, by means of metallic vapor deposition Disc applied, the layer being structured during vapor deposition.
- the structure of the layer is designed in such a way that signals from certain radio communication devices (for example GSM, UMTS, radio waves, etc.) can pass through as freely as possible at certain frequencies.
- signals from these window panes are not transmitted in a frequency-selective manner, as a result of which, for example, radio communication devices located in the interior of the vehicle can be disturbed.
- wireless Internet access is now offered in these vehicles, for example.
- the vehicle or the train is equipped with wireless local area network or WLAN technology, so that the mobile data services or wireless internet is available in all wagons of the train - even if the train is traveling outside areas that are for these services have sufficient network coverage.
- an appropriate infrastructure or radio communication device such as WLAN hotspots, is installed inside the vehicle.
- signals from radio communication devices that are located outside the vehicle and use the same frequency range are used by window panes, such as in the scriptures DE 195 03 892 C1 or EP 2 586 610 A1 described, not kept away from the interior of the vehicle. These signals can then disrupt the radio communication device inside the vehicle or the services offered. Furthermore, communication services offered in a vehicle, for example, which are offered to passengers free of charge, could also be used from outside the vehicle. In addition, radio communication device radio communication system outside the vehicle can be disturbed by the radio signals of those installed in the vehicle.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of improving the reception and connection quality of radio communication devices used in vehicles - regardless of the attachment of the radio communication device.
- the main aspect of the window pane according to the invention is that the window pane is designed to be frequency-selective.
- the corresponding properties of the window panes allow signals or frequency ranges of communication services, the radio communication devices of which are located outside the vehicle, to pass through as freely as possible. This means that communication services can be used without significant losses due to damping when passing through the window pane. It is thus possible, for example, to use communication services from GSM, UMTS, and in the future also LTE radio communication devices in the interior of the vehicle without interference. It is also conceivable that signals from GSM-R (GSM-Railway), DVB-T, radio waves or BOS radio such as TETRA can pass the window pane as freely as possible.
- window pane Another advantageous aspect of the window pane according to the invention is that the special frequency-selective design signals or frequency ranges of radio communication devices (for example WLAN), which are located inside the Vehicle are attached to be locked. This enables undisturbed operation of these radio communication devices in the interior of the vehicle and further reduces interference with radio communication devices arranged outside the vehicle. In addition, use of these radio communication devices located in the interior of the vehicle from outside is made considerably more difficult.
- radio communication devices for example WLAN
- the window pane Due to the corresponding filter characteristic of the metallization, the window pane has an effect similar to a bandstop for certain frequency ranges specified by radio communication devices used in the interior of the vehicle. Furthermore, heat radiation is prevented by the metallization. The interior of the vehicle is thus better thermally insulated and is e.g. better protected from heating up by sun exposure.
- the metallization is structured by a pattern with at least two different structural elements.
- the pattern or structure of the metallization, which is formed by the structural elements, is ideally optimized in such a way that there is low attenuation in the desired passband areas and high attenuation in the desired blocking areas.
- the respective structural elements are e.g. stimulated to vibrate. In the area of the resonance frequency of the respective structural element there is an increased reflection of the respective radio signals. The transmission of these signals or this frequency range decreases simultaneously. I.e. the corresponding frequency range, which is defined by a suitable choice of the structural element or its parameters (e.g. length, width, etc.), is strongly attenuated or blocked.
- Corresponding structural elements or structuring of the metallization in a simple manner enable largely interference-free reception of signals from respective radio communication devices, which are installed inside and outside the vehicle.
- the desired frequency ranges are either let through or blocked by the structuring.
- the metallization of the window panes provides better thermal insulation for the interior of the vehicle.
- an insulation distance is provided between the structural elements.
- the exact resonance frequencies of the structural elements are detuned by the proximity to neighboring structural elements.
- the insulation distance represents a decisive influencing factor for detuning the adjacent or adjacent structural elements.
- Detuning is understood, for example, in electrical engineering to mean a relative representation of a frequency ratio, one of the frequencies being predetermined and regarded as fixed.
- the predetermined frequency is usually a resonance frequency e.g. of the structural elements used in each case.
- the detuning thus describes in standardized form how a current frequency deviates from the expected resonance or filter frequency.
- the degree of detuning is influenced by the insulation spacing or its width. Furthermore, the insulation spacing also influences a degree of coverage of the metallization and thus the transmission at frequencies in frequency ranges outside the restricted areas determined by the structure.
- a special design variant of the window pane according to the invention is ideally provided with cross-shaped and rectangular, in particular square, structural elements for the pattern of the metallization.
- the cross-shaped structural elements are advantageously repeated periodically in two spatial directions such that the horizontally and vertically oriented ends of the cross-shaped structural elements point to or are adjacent to each other, and that the rectangular or square structural elements of the empty spaces lying between four cross-shaped structural elements be formed.
- a lower barrier band can be determined by a length of the cross-shaped structural elements and an upper barrier band by a side length of the rectangular or square structural elements.
- the corresponding frequencies are then reflected more intensely in the region of the respective resonance frequency, and transmission of these frequencies or the associated frequency ranges through the window pane according to the invention is thus greatly reduced.
- the exact resonance frequencies of cruciform or rectangular structural elements are detuned by the proximity to neighboring cruciform or rectangular structural elements.
- the degree of detuning can be influenced by an appropriate choice of the insulation distance between the structural elements - i.e.
- the cross-shaped and rectangular or square structural elements are changed in their respective lengths or the width of the insulation spacing is varied so that the detuning between adjacent structural elements is compensated for.
- the structural element parameters e.g. Shape, length of the structural elements, width of the insulation distance, etc.
- an optimal structure of the metallization can be found for the desired frequency ranges to be let through and to be blocked, through which an optimal reception quality for communication services of radio communication devices inside and outside the vehicle is made possible.
- the metallization is additionally provided with a fine structure.
- the fine structure allows the properties of the window pane in the optical and thermal range to be improved in a simple manner. Ie radiation in the visible frequency spectrum and / or heat radiation are better reflected or the transmission is reduced. Furthermore, with the help of the fine structure, a visually appealing appearance of the window pane can also be achieved. For example, targeted lettering or shapes (eg logos, etc.) can be applied to the window pane.
- a preferred embodiment of the present invention provides that a so-called wireless local area network or WLAN can be used as the radio communication device arranged in the interior of the vehicle.
- WLAN technology and infrastructure e.g. WLAN hotspots, etc.
- WLAN hotspots etc.
- the signals or the frequency ranges of the WLAN used are blocked by the window pane according to the invention.
- wireless networks WLAN according to IEEE standards 802.11a / h and 802.11n
- two license-free frequency ranges from the ISM bands have currently been released - these are the ranges from 2.45 GHz to 2.48 GHz and from 5. 2 GHz to 5.8 GHz.
- Signals or the frequency ranges of signals from radio communication devices according to the GSM, UMTS or LTE mobile radio standards are advantageously provided as passable signals from radio communication devices which are arranged outside the vehicle.
- mobile communication services such as voice telephony, transmission of short messages, etc. with mobile devices (e.g. mobile phone, smartphone, etc.) can be used in vehicles over an entire route with optimal reception quality and almost interference-free.
- GSM-R a GSM standard which has been adapted to the railway
- DVB-T VHF radio waves
- / or BOS radio eg TETRA
- Figure 1 shows schematically and by way of example a section of the mirrored window pane according to the invention with an exemplary pattern structure of the metallization.
- Figure 2 shows an example and schematically a rail vehicle with window panes mirrored according to the invention.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic and exemplary section of the mirrored window pane FS according to the invention, which can be used in vehicles F such as rail vehicles.
- the window pane FS shown as an example has a transparent and electrically conductive metallization ME, which is frequency-selective due to a structuring.
- the structuring of the metallization ME on the one hand signals from and to radio communication devices such as mobile radio networks according to the GSM, UMTS or in the future according to the LTE standard or possibly also signals from GSM-R networks, DVB-T, VHF from the window pane FS Radio waves or BOS radio system such as TETRA, which are located outside the vehicle F, are transmitted.
- signals from and to radio communication devices such as wireless LAN are blocked if they are arranged inside the vehicle F.
- the exemplary window pane FS is structured by a pattern with at least two different structural elements SE1, SE2.
- An insulation distance IS is provided between the structural elements, which has no metallization ME.
- the exemplary embodiment shown as an example comprises the pattern of the structuring of a first structural element SE1, which is designed as a cross-shaped structural element SE1.
- the cross-shaped structural element SE1 is periodically repeated in two spatial directions - horizontally and vertically - with the ends of the cross-shaped structural elements SE1 lying next to one another pointing both to one another in the vertical and in the vertical spatial direction.
- a second structural element SE2, which is isolated by the isolating distance IS, is formed from the empty spaces which arise between the cross-shaped structural elements SE1.
- the second structural element is rectangular or as in Figure 1 shown square.
- Such a metallization for example, enables frequency-selective blocking of two frequency bands with significantly different medium frequencies - such as the two license-free frequency ranges from the ISM bands of 2.45 GHz - 2.48 GHz and from 5.2 GHz to 5.8 GHz, which are used for the operation of wireless networks or wireless LAN.
- a lower barrier band is essentially determined by a length of the first, cross-shaped structural element SE1.
- the length of the cross-shaped structural element SE1 is in the order of half a wavelength of the selected lower frequency.
- the cross-shaped structural elements SE1 are excited to oscillate in the selected frequency range by an incident radio wave. In the region of a resonance frequency of the cross-shaped structural elements SE1 there is an increased reflection of the incident radio waves or the signals of the radio communication device from which this frequency is used. This reduces transmission at the same time.
- An upper stop band is used in the example in Figure 1 illustrated pattern of the metallization ME realized by the second, rectangular or square structural element SE2.
- the upper stop band is determined by a side length of the second structural element SE2.
- the side length is, for example, in the order of half the wavelength of the selected upper frequency.
- the pattern is identical for both spatial directions due to a continuous, repeating arrangement - periodicity - of the structural elements SE1, SE2. With this e.g. achieved a similar effect for two orthogonally polarized, incident radio waves.
- the exact resonance frequencies of the cruciform and rectangular or square structure elements SE1, SE2 are then e.g. detuned by the proximity to the respectively adjacent cruciform and rectangular or square structural elements SE1, SE2. An essential influencing factor on the respective detuning is thus formed from the insulation distance IS between the structural elements SE1, SE2.
- the cross-shaped structural elements SE1 and the rectangular or square structural elements SE2 are changed in the respective side lengths until a detuning of an adjacent or adjacent structural element SE1, SE2 is compensated for.
- the isolation distance IS can also influence a degree of coverage of the metallization ME and thus a transmission of signals at frequencies outside the selected stop bands become.
- the parameters such as side length, etc. of the structural elements SE1, SE2
- structures of the metallization ME can be found for the frequency range to be blocked in each case or for the corresponding radio communication devices arranged in the interior of the vehicle F. This means that the metallization can be optimally adjusted to the requirements of which radio communication devices or which frequencies are to be let through or blocked.
- the metallization ME of the window panes FS can also be provided with a fine structure, by means of which the properties in the optical and thermal range are improved.
- a fine structure for example, an appearance of the window panes FS can also be designed accordingly. For example, attractive structural patterns, shapes, lettering, logos, etc. can be realized.
- the mirrored window panes FS can be arranged distributed over the vehicle sides in a vehicle F. In this way, the reception conditions are optimized or improved both for the radio communication devices arranged outside the vehicle F and for the radio communication devices arranged inside the vehicle F.
- the window panes FS according to the invention are particularly suitable for use in rail vehicles, in particular in trains and / or trams.
- the window panes according to the invention can also be used in other vehicles (e.g. buses, etc.) and in buildings with mirrored windows.

Description
US2004/107641 ;US2010/288116 ; K. Mitchell et. al. "Research to Demonstrate the Ability of Close-coupled Frequency Selective Structures to Enhance the Spectral Efficiency of Radio Systems in Buildings," BAE Systems 31-03-2004 offenbaren dann weitere ähnliche Strukturen die eine Frequenzselektivität aufweisen.
