Definitions
- the invention relates to a combination suction system that has a hand unit with a suction fan, an energy store and a dust filter, and a floor unit with a floor nozzle, the floor unit having a receiving shaft into which the hand unit can be inserted.
- the hand unit often also referred to as a battery or table vacuum cleaner, is small and compact and suitable for quickly vacuuming crumbs or similar dirt particles from a table or from seating furniture. However, if, for example in a dining area, crumbs are to be sucked up from the floor after a meal, this is only inconvenient to do with a hand unit.
- the hand unit can be inserted into the base unit.
- the floor unit has a floor nozzle that is more suitable and usually wider for vacuuming a floor, which is then coupled to the hand unit and through which the hand unit sucks up dirt.
- the floor unit has a handle which, due to the longer design of the floor unit, can be comfortably guided while standing for vacuuming the floor.
- a disadvantage of such a combination suction system is often that the suction power of the hand unit in the floor unit is not sufficient to achieve a satisfactory cleaning effect.
- Combination suction systems are known in which a rotating brush roller is arranged in the floor nozzle to compensate for the insufficient suction power. However, this only increases the cleaning effect on certain floors for which it is suitable.
- the pamphlet JP 2 627275 B2 discloses a combination suction system comprising a hand unit and a floor unit, wherein both the hand unit and the floor unit have a fan.
- the problem here is that the two blowers can only be operated alternately, which significantly reduces the suction power of the combination suction system.
- the base unit has a further suction fan and a further energy store, with the suction fan and the further suction fan being arranged one behind the other in a suction air flow when the hand unit is used.
- the further suction fan is arranged downstream of the suction fan.
- the suction power of the hand unit used can be increased during operation in the floor unit. Due to the suction fan of the two units arranged one behind the other in the suction air flow, the achievable negative pressure is added, which results in a higher speed of the suction air flow in the area of the floor nozzle, which leads to an improved suction power.
- the output of the suction fan and / or the further suction fan can be varied.
- a variable power for example adjustable via a pulse width modulation control (PWM control) of the motors of the suction fan, can be used to set a suction power as required. In this way, energy can be saved when the full suction power is not required.
- PWM control pulse width modulation control
- the suction fan or the further suction fan are switched off completely if the energy store or the further energy store is not sufficiently filled.
- a hand unit inserted in the receiving shaft is electrically connected to the base unit.
- the suction fan of the hand-held unit can for example be supplied with power from the further energy storage unit of the base unit if the energy storage unit in the hand-held unit is no longer sufficiently charged or its charge is to be saved for separate operation.
- the energy store of the hand unit it is also possible for the energy store of the hand unit to be charged via the further energy store of the floor unit when the hand unit is inserted into the floor unit.
- Rechargeable batteries (accumulators) are suitable as energy stores or further energy stores.
- the electrical connection can also be used to control the hand-held unit via an operating element on the floor unit.
- a rotatable brush roller can be provided in the floor nozzle of the floor unit.
- the cleaning effect of the combination suction system can be further increased by this brush roller.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic representation of a combination suction system.
- a combination suction system according to the invention is shown in a schematic sectional drawing.
- the combination suction system comprises a hand unit 10, which is inserted into a floor unit 20 in the situation shown.
- the base unit 20 has a receiving shaft 27 into which the hand unit 10 can be inserted and from which the hand unit 10 can be removed again.
- the receiving shaft 27 can be covered with a closable flap. Provision can also be made for the receiving shaft 27 to be arranged in such a way that the hand unit 10 latches in a receiving shaft that is open on one side.
- the hand unit 10 can be used as a separate unit. It has a suction fan 11 which is connected to an energy store 12 at least via a switch or possibly via a control unit 13. At the lower area of the hand unit 10 there is a suction nozzle 14 which has a small opening cross section for the selective suction of crumbs and dust or other dirt. Within the hand unit 10, the suction nozzle 14 is connected to a dust chamber 15 in which a dust filter 16 is arranged in front of an outlet opening of the dust chamber 15. The outlet opening is coupled to the suction fan 11. An air flow guided through the suction fan 11 leaves the hand-held unit 10 at an air outlet 17.
- the suction nozzle 14 of the hand unit 10 When the hand unit 10 is inserted into the floor unit 20, the suction nozzle 14 of the hand unit 10 is coupled to a floor nozzle 24 of the floor unit 20. An air stream entering the floor nozzle 24 thus passes through the suction nozzle 14 into the dust chamber 15 of the hand-held unit 10, so that dirt particles sucked up by the floor nozzle 24 are also separated in the dust chamber 15.
- the sucked in air flow leaves the hand unit 10 after passing through the suction fan 11 from the air outlet 17 and enters a further suction fan 21 through an air inlet 25, which is arranged in the base unit 20.
- the air flow, which is further accelerated and compressed by the further suction fan 21, leaves the base unit 20 through a further air outlet 26.
- the suction fan 11 and the further suction fan 21 are thus arranged one behind the other in the suction air flow, as a result of which the negative pressures generated by them add up.
- a higher negative pressure leads to a higher speed of the air injected at the floor nozzle 24, whereby the suction power is increased.
- a further energy store 22 is arranged in the base unit 20 to supply power to the further suction fan 21. Even if the energy store 12 and the further energy store 22 are shown in the schematic drawing of the figure with the same cross section, the larger installation space of the base unit 20 offers the possibility of using an energy store with a higher capacity. An increased weight of a more powerful further energy storage device 22 is no longer a problem in the floor unit 20, since an increased weight of the floor unit 20 is supported on the floor nozzle 24 during use.
- the floor unit 20 also has a further control unit 23.
- the further control unit 23 is used, among other things, to control the output of the further suction fan 21 so that its output can be controlled as required.
- the hand unit 10 is connected to the base unit 20 via an electrical connection 28.
- the electrical connection 28 exists between the control unit 13 and the further control unit 23.
- this connection can be used to exchange control information between the hand-held unit 10 and the base unit 20 , control unit arranged on the base unit 20 can be switched on and off or regulated.
- energy can be exchanged between the hand-held unit 10 and the floor unit 20 via the electrical connection 28.
- the energy store 12 of the hand-held unit 10 can be charged by the typically more powerful additional energy store 22 of the floor unit 20.
- the suction fan 11 and / or the further suction fan 21 are also supplied with power when the respective associated energy store, the energy store 12 or the further energy store 22, is empty.
- the suction fan 11 and the further suction fan 21 can be designed as radial fans. Due to the pneumatic series connection of the suction fan 11 and the further suction fan 21, a design as an axial fan is also advantageous. With such a design of the suction fans 11, 21 as axial fans, there is the possibility of reversing the direction of the motors of the fans, whereby an air flow is guided into the dust filter 16, which can be used to clean (“blow out”) the dust filter 16.
- vacuum sensors or switches can be provided in the suction area in front of the dust filter 16 and / or behind the dust filter 16 and / or in the area of the air inlet 25.
- the vacuum switches or vacuum sensors can be used to implement an automatic power control in which the power consumption of the suction fan 11 and / or the further suction fan 21 depending on The surface on which the hand unit 10 or the floor unit 20 is used is automatically optimally set.
- a differential pressure determination via vacuum sensors can also be used to automatically determine the degree of filling of the dust chamber 15.
