Die Kulissenführungen 12.1 und 12.2 sind vorzugsweise bogenförmig gestaltet, derart dass das Übersetzungsverhältnis sich über den Verstellweg ändert, so dass bspw. für schmale Rücken eine genauere Verstellung möglich ist als für breite Rücken. Alternativ zu den Kulissenführungen 12.1 und 12.2 können auch nicht dargestellte Umlenkhebel eingesetzt werden. Eine alternativen Ausführung der Vorrichtung 1 umfasst anstelle des Formstückes 2.1 für die Herstellung von Büchern mit geradem Rücken ein in Figur 3 dargestelltes Formstück 2.2, mit dem der Rückenbereich 30 mit dem Ausheben aus der gestreckten Lage der Buchdecke 29 gerundet wird. Um unterschiedliche Formate und Konturen des Rückenbereiches 30 mit einem Werkzeug zu erzeugen, besteht das Formstück 2.2 aus mehreren ineinander verschachtelten Elementen, wobei das Basiselement 15 gleichzeitig zur Aufnahme des Formstückes 2.2 in der Vorrichtung 1 dient. In diesem Basiselement 15 ist ein erstes Formelement 16 verschieblich gelagert, derart dass das erste Formelement 16 gegenüber dem Basiselement 15 in Aushubrichtung A aus diesem angehoben werden kann. Dazu sind rampenförmige Führungen 18 oder Kulissen vorgesehen, welche aus dem Basiselement 15 und dem ersten Formelement 16 selbst gebildet sind, so dass eine relative Verschiebung des Basiselementes 15 und des ersten Formelementes 16 zueinander in Längsrichtung T ein Verschieben in Aushubrichtung A bewirkt. Auf gleiche Weise ist ein zweites Formelement 17 in dem ersten Formelement 16 gelagert, wodurch sich der in Figur 4 im Querschnitt gezeigte Aufbau ergibt und die Verstellung des Basiselementes 15 und der Formelemente 16 und 17 beliebig zueinander erfolgen kann. Zur Verstellung sind die Formelemente 16 und 17 über Koppelelemente 20 jeweils mit Schubelementen 19 bzw. 21 verbunden, welche in gleicher Weise wie die Schubstangen 11.1 und 11.2 des vorangehend beschriebenen Formstückes 2.1 von den Verstellantrieben 10.1 bzw. 10.2 betätigt werden.
