Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of wall slabs intended in particular to form a suspended ceiling or a wall wall.
- the invention relates more particularly to a wall slab consisting of a frame and a fabric stretched over the frame, said fabric having a face with a mirror effect.
- Such a non-reflecting wall tile is for example known from US2005/150616 A1 which discloses a wall tile comprising a frame having at least one side edge and an attached canvas stretched over the side edge of the frame so as to cover a face of said frame and having a rear face, the wall tile further comprising at least one tension reinforcing profile positioned between the rear face of said fabric and the side edge of said frame.
- wall tiles for suspended ceilings or wall walls are formed from a fabric, usually made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), fixed to a rigid metal frame.
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- the latter have the disadvantage of giving the canvas a certain rigidity so that the tensioning of the canvas on the frame is made more difficult.
- the image reflected on the canvas presents distortions.
- the defects and deformations present on the surface of the canvas are all the more visible to the back of the neck when the canvas is not tightly stretched, thus harming the desired mirror effect.
- the invention aims to remedy these problems by proposing a wall slab with a mirror effect having an optimal tension of the canvas on the frame.
- the invention proposes a wall slab according to claim 1.
- Front side means the side of the fabric visible from inside the room in which the wall slab is installed, and conversely, by “rear side", the side of the fabric not visible from inside the room in which the wall slab is installed.
- flat also denotes a part having a profile of rectangular section and of low thickness.
- tension reinforcement flat(s) ensures the tensioning of the canvas on the frame. Furthermore, when the canvas is stretched over the frame, the latter exerts compression and bending forces on the frame. The presence of tension reinforcing flat(s) then makes it possible to distribute the forces thus exerted by the fabric uniformly along the side edge(s) of the frame.
- the wall slab, the tension of the fabric of which is ensured due to the presence of reinforcing flat(s) thus has a reflective front face that is flat at all points, thus providing in return a mirror image devoid of distortion.
- tension reinforcement flat will be referred to interchangeably below as “reinforcement flat” or “flat”.
- the reinforcing flat has a thickness greater than 0.5 millimeters.
- the reinforcing flat is fixed to the side edge of the frame by means of a first adhesive layer and to the canvas by means of a second adhesive layer, the first and second adhesive layers being located at a given height of the canvas. .
- the invention also relates to a method for producing a wall slab according to claim 4.
- the reflective outer face is coated with a protective film, preferably peelable.
- the reinforcing flat is fixed to the fabric by means of a first adhesive layer applied to one face of the flat so as to reserve a longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive, the flat being placed on the fabric so that the edge longitudinal of the flat bordering the longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive or in contact with the longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive (7) of the side edge of the frame.
- the reinforcing flat is fixed to the side edge of the frame by means of a second adhesive layer applied to the side edge of the frame so as to reserve a longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive.
- the canvas is cut along a cutting line delimited by the reinforcing flat and the frame.
- the method comprises a step of heating the canvas once the latter has been stretched over the frame.
- a wall slab 1 comprising a frame 2 of substantially parallelepipedal shape and a fabric 3 mounted taut on said frame.
- the frame 2 preferably metal, is formed of four sections 2a to 2d, preferably aluminum, having, in section, the shape of a right square, one of the branches constitutes one of the side edges 20a to 20d of the frame 2 , the other branch constituting the rear face of the wall slab.
- the fabric 3 advantageously made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), comprises a first face called the "front face” 30 coated with a reflective metallized material and a second face called the “rear face” 31.
- the front and rear faces are defined 30, 31 depending on position of canvas 3 relative to frame 2.
- the canvas 3 is fixed to the frame 2 by means of reinforcing flats 4a to 4d.
- the wall slab 1 comprises four flats 4a to 4d, each flat being arranged between a side edge of one of the sections 2a to 2d and the internal face of a fabric flap folded over the side edge in question.
- the reinforcing flats 4a to 4d are arranged with the frame 2 and the canvas 3 to ensure the tensioning of the canvas on the frame.
- each flat 4a to 4d advantageously has dimensions identical to the dimensions of the associated side edge 20a, 20d of the frame 2. It also has a thickness greater than 0.5 millimeter. According to a preferred embodiment, the flats 4a to 4d have a thickness substantially equal to that of the branches of the sections constituting the side edges of the frame.
- each flat 4a to 4d is fixed by a first adhesive layer 6 on the canvas 2 and by a second adhesive layer 5 on one of the side edges 20a, 20d of the frame 2.
- the adhesive layers 5 have dimensions identical to those of the adhesive layers 6.
- the adhesive layers 5 and 6 consist of double-sided adhesive strips.
- the adhesive strips are dimensioned to extend over the entire length of the side edges of the frame 2 as well as over the entire length of the flats. On the other hand, they have a width less than that of the side edges and the flats. As will be seen below, this dimensional difference will ensure the tensioning of the canvas (2).
- the wall slab 1 according to the invention is made according to the following steps ( figures 3A to 3D ).
- the first step consists in coating the outer side edge 20a to 20d of each section 2a to 2d forming the frame 2 as well as one of the surfaces of each flat 4a to 4d with an adhesive strip 5, 6 double-sided.
- the adhesive strips 5 are glued to the side edges of the frame 2 while being positioned at the edge of the edges of the angled shape of the sections, thus preserving a non-adhesive longitudinal zone 7 (or zone longitudinally devoid of adhesive 7).
- the adhesive strips 6 are glued to one of the faces of each of the flats while being positioned along one of the longitudinal edges of the flats, thus preserving a non-adhesive longitudinal zone 8 (or longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive 8).
- the frame 2 is positioned on the rear face 31 of the canvas 3, the non-adhesive zone 7 of the frame 2 being arranged on the side of the fabric 2 ( Figure 3A ).
- each reinforcing flat 4a to 4d is placed on the fabric 3 by positioning on the one hand the longitudinal edge located on the side of the non-adherent zone 8 of each flat adjacent to the side edge of the corresponding profile and on the other hand the face of each flat 4a to 4d bearing a double adhesive strip 6 on the fabric side 3 as illustrated in the Figure 3B .
- care will have been taken to remove the protection covering the adhesive of the double-sided adhesive tape.
- the longitudinal edge of each flat bordering the non-adherent longitudinal zone of the flat is in contact with the non-adherent longitudinal zone of the associated lateral edge of frame 2.
- each reinforced canvas flap 3a to 3d is then folded over the associated side edge 20a to 20d of the frame 2, the protective sheet of the double-sided adhesive tape having been removed beforehand.
- each reinforcing flat 4a to 4d will tilt around the junction line XX between the longitudinal edge of the flat and the non-adhesive longitudinal zone of the associated side edge of the frame, thus causing the tensioning of the fabric 3 on the frame 2.
- the operation of fixing the reinforcing flats when folding down the reinforced canvas flaps is not limited to the technique of gluing, any other appropriate means and technique known to those skilled in the art being able be implemented without departing from the scope of the invention.
- the second reinforced flap to be fixed to the frame 2 will be the canvas flap opposite the first reinforced flap of the fixed canvas.
- the first reinforced flap is flap 3b as illustrated in the 3d figure
- the second shutter to be fixed on the frame 2 will be the shutter associated with section 2a (not shown), the third flap being one of the two remaining flaps (flaps 3c or the flap corresponding to profile 2d).
- the fabric 3 then being stretched over the frame 2, the latter is heated in order to remove any possible deformations produced during the construction of the wall slab and likely to generate marks visible to the naked eye on the wall slab.
- the heating is carried out by the rear face 31 or the front face 30 of the canvas 3 depending on whether the reflecting face of the canvas is covered with a protective film (heating then being carried out from the rear) or not (heating which can be then carried out from the front of the canvas). It should be noted that in the case where the canvas has a protective film covering its reflective face, it should be removed once the heating step has been completed.
- the adhesive layers are in the form of double-sided adhesive strips.
- the adhesive layer could take a form other than that of a double-sided adhesive tape, such as for example a directly active adhesive layer, ie. without a protective layer.
- the application of the adhesive layer will have to be done at very specific times during the production of the wall slab.
- the application of the adhesive layer on each flat will be applied before their respective installation on the canvas while that applied on the side edges of the frame will be carried out after the installation of the frame on the back side of the canvas, previous or next the step of placing the flats on the canvas.
- the adhesive is applied in the form of strips. It can, however, also be applied in the form of discontinuous strips.
- the canvas is fixed to the frame by gluing, and more particularly by gluing the flats on the canvas and on the side edges of the frame. It is understood that the invention is not limited to this type of fixing means, said fabric being able to be fixed by any other appropriate means and technique known to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention, such as for example by riveting the elements together (canvas, flat and frame), by clipping, etc.
- the frame is formed of four separate sections. It is of course possible for the frame to consist of a single profiled element, said frame being produced by folding and cutting said profiled element.
- the frame 2 is substantially parallelepipedic in shape. It is understood that the invention is not limited to such a shape of frame, the slab possibly comprising a frame having a different shape, such as for example a triangular shape (in this case, the wall slab will comprise three reinforcing flats placed each between one of the side edges of the frame and a portion of fabric covering the side edge in question) or circular (in this case, the wall slab will include one or more reinforcing flats extending between the perimeter of the frame and the portion of fabric covering the circumference in question).
- a triangular shape in this case, the wall slab will comprise three reinforcing flats placed each between one of the side edges of the frame and a portion of fabric covering the side edge in question
- the wall slab will include one or more reinforcing flats extending between the perimeter of the frame and the portion of fabric covering the circumference in question).
- the reinforced canvas flaps are fixed flat against the side edges of the frame.

Description
The invention relates to the field of wall slabs intended in particular to form a suspended ceiling or a wall wall.
The invention relates more particularly to a wall slab consisting of a frame and a fabric stretched over the frame, said fabric having a face with a mirror effect.
In a known manner, wall tiles for suspended ceilings or wall walls are formed from a fabric, usually made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), fixed to a rigid metal frame. In order to stretch the canvas on the frame, it is generally heated in order to expand it, the canvas then retracting during its cooling, thus ensuring its tension on the frame.
Faced with an increasing demand for decorative ceilings or wall panels, it is common practice to coat the faces of the wall tiles visible from the room in which they are installed, either with paint or with a decorative coating. Among the decorative coatings used, mirror effect coatings are offered.
However, the latter have the disadvantage of giving the canvas a certain rigidity so that the tensioning of the canvas on the frame is made more difficult. However, when it is not sufficiently stretched, the image reflected on the canvas presents distortions. Moreover, the defects and deformations present on the surface of the canvas are all the more visible to the back of the neck when the canvas is not tightly stretched, thus harming the desired mirror effect.
The invention aims to remedy these problems by proposing a wall slab with a mirror effect having an optimal tension of the canvas on the frame.
A cet effet, et selon un premier aspect, l'invention propose une dalle de paroi selon la revendication 1..To this end, and according to a first aspect, the invention proposes a wall slab according to claim 1.
The term "flat" also denotes a part having a profile of rectangular section and of low thickness.
The presence of tension reinforcement flat(s) ensures the tensioning of the canvas on the frame. Furthermore, when the canvas is stretched over the frame, the latter exerts compression and bending forces on the frame. The presence of tension reinforcing flat(s) then makes it possible to distribute the forces thus exerted by the fabric uniformly along the side edge(s) of the frame.
The wall slab, the tension of the fabric of which is ensured due to the presence of reinforcing flat(s) thus has a reflective front face that is flat at all points, thus providing in return a mirror image devoid of distortion.
Advantageously, the reinforcing flat has a thickness greater than 0.5 millimeters.
Advantageously, the reinforcing flat is fixed to the side edge of the frame by means of a first adhesive layer and to the canvas by means of a second adhesive layer, the first and second adhesive layers being located at a given height of the canvas. .
L'invention concerne également un procédé de réalisation d'une dalle de paroi selon la revendication 4.The invention also relates to a method for producing a wall slab according to
Advantageously, the reflective outer face is coated with a protective film, preferably peelable.
Advantageously, the reinforcing flat is fixed to the fabric by means of a first adhesive layer applied to one face of the flat so as to reserve a longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive, the flat being placed on the fabric so that the edge longitudinal of the flat bordering the longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive or in contact with the longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive (7) of the side edge of the frame.
Advantageously, the reinforcing flat is fixed to the side edge of the frame by means of a second adhesive layer applied to the side edge of the frame so as to reserve a longitudinal zone devoid of adhesive.
Advantageously, the canvas is cut along a cutting line delimited by the reinforcing flat and the frame.
Advantageously, the method comprises a step of heating the canvas once the latter has been stretched over the frame.

The
According to the invention, the
The flats are each in the form of an elongated plate, of rectangular section and of low thickness. Advantageously, each flat 4a to 4d advantageously has dimensions identical to the dimensions of the associated side edge 20a, 20d of the
The first step consists in coating the outer side edge 20a to 20d of each section 2a to 2d forming the
Each reinforced
Once the four reinforced
In the illustrated example, which is a preferred embodiment, the adhesive layers are in the form of double-sided adhesive strips. It is of course obvious that the adhesive layer could take a form other than that of a double-sided adhesive tape, such as for example a directly active adhesive layer, ie. without a protective layer. In this case, it will be understood that the application of the adhesive layer will have to be done at very specific times during the production of the wall slab. In particular, the application of the adhesive layer on each flat will be applied before their respective installation on the canvas while that applied on the side edges of the frame will be carried out after the installation of the frame on the back side of the canvas, previous or next the step of placing the flats on the canvas. Furthermore, in the embodiment described, the adhesive is applied in the form of strips. It can, however, also be applied in the form of discontinuous strips.
In the embodiment described above, the canvas is fixed to the frame by gluing, and more particularly by gluing the flats on the canvas and on the side edges of the frame. It is understood that the invention is not limited to this type of fixing means, said fabric being able to be fixed by any other appropriate means and technique known to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention, such as for example by riveting the elements together (canvas, flat and frame), by clipping, etc.
Similarly, in the example described above, the frame is formed of four separate sections. It is of course possible for the frame to consist of a single profiled element, said frame being produced by folding and cutting said profiled element.
Similarly, in the example described above, the reinforced canvas flaps are fixed flat against the side edges of the frame. According to a variant embodiment, provision is made to partially fold the canvas flaps over the side edges of the frame, the reinforced flaps thus having an inclined position with respect to the side edges of said frame. This configuration has the advantage of offering greater tensioning of the canvas on the frame, allowing even better tension.
The invention is described in the foregoing by way of example. It is understood that a person skilled in the art is able to produce different variant embodiments of the invention without departing from the scope of the appended claims.
