Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hair styling device according to claim 1 comprising a housing having hingedly connected arms and a number of treatment elements integrated in the arms with heat sources, the arms and the treatment elements defining a treatment section delimited on at least two sides.
  • the hair styling device can be used for temporary hair shaping, in particular for hair straightening or curling.
  • Conventional hair styling devices are, for example, hair straighteners with plates as treatment elements or substantially round curling irons in which the hairs are respectively transformed by means of heat supply and under tension.
  • the DE 201 19 133 U1 describes a conventional hair styler with an optionally integrated steam generator for steam assisted hair styling.
  • a water tank can be attached, which contains the necessary for the steam generation liquid. Water vapor is transferred to the strands of hair via steam outlet openings integrated into heat plates, in order to allow more uniform hair shaping or hair straightening.
  • the document EP2397045 A1 discloses a hair styling device according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a hair styling device with which a gentle hair shaping is achieved.
  • the hair styling device according to the invention for use in hair shaping includes, inter alia, a moisture retention device for moisture regulation, ie in particular for Reduction of water loss of the hair.
  • a moisture retention device for moisture regulation, ie in particular for Reduction of water loss of the hair.
  • the process of hair-shaping requires a certain amount of interaction time during which the hair-strands sections placed in the hair-transformation area of the device are in contact with the hot contact surfaces. This leads to loss of water due to evaporation of water molecules absorbed in the hair.
  • the regularly occurring, in conventional hair styling devices often drastic water loss is prevented according to the invention by the moisture retention device.
  • the invention thus turns away from providing separate water tank for moistening the hair. Rather, it pursues the principle of preventing the escape of moisture from the treatment section, or at least some of the moisture removed from the hair during hair shaping. For a much lower technical effort is operated than in conventional hair shapers and the operation of the hair styling device is simplified.
  • the treatment section is formed as a substantially closed space. It is not completely complete because the treated strand of hair reaches through and creates a certain connection to the environment with a certain exchange of air. According to the invention, however, the air exchange is largely, although not completely prevented.
  • the water vapor removed from the hair accumulates as the treatment progresses. As saturation with water vapor increases, the rate of evaporation decreases and, with time, less and less moisture is removed from the hair. As a result, the hair dries less and the natural moisture content of the hair can advantageously be better maintained. Because hair with more moisture is more elastic and less prone to breakage and split ends.
  • the moisture retention device at least on one side of the gap comprises it to the outside final flexible rubber lips as moisture retention elements. They are arranged substantially perpendicular to the surface of the treatment elements. Since the strands of hair are generally perpendicular to the treatment elements arranged in the arms of the housing, the moisture retention elements, which are also arranged perpendicular thereto, can largely close this gap. Termination means that water vapor is largely prevented from leaking out of the gap and past the moisture retention elements.
  • the moisture retention elements may be attached to only one arm or to both arms so that the strands of hair come to rest between the moisture retention elements. If they are only attached to one side of the device, then preferably to that at which the treated strand of hair leaves the treatment section.
  • the moisture retention device comprises a number of flexible rubber lips substantially circulating the treatment section as moisture retaining elements. Circumferential means that in a rectangular treatment section moisture retention elements are provided on all four sides of the treatment section. They are expediently formed in full length of the respective sides and abut at the corners of the respectively adjacent moisture retaining element or are staggered and overlap or overlap themselves ..
  • the moisture retaining elements may consist of individual sub-elements or represent a continuous element. The partial elements of a moisture retention element can better the different movements of the hair strands, such. B. adjust deformation by grasping the hair or while pulling through the hair during hair shaping.
  • the moisture retention elements are flexible in themselves. Flexible means that they can be compressible and / or bend elastically. They can form a kind of curtain than flexible rubber lips. Flexible elements are comfortable for the user, as they adapt well to the shape of the hair strands and at the same time effectively close the gap. Examples of suitable materials for this purpose are fluorine-containing rubber, ethylene and / or propylene-containing rubbers such as ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) be used. In addition, rigid, but pivotally mounted or rotatably mounted moisture retaining elements can be used, for. B. roller elements, lip-like (eg rubber lips) or comb-like separation elements. The more or less rigid elements can adapt to differently thick strands of hair and also form an effective separation of the treatment space with a good retention effect. In addition, they may be formed of heat-resistant and abrasion-resistant materials such as plastics or the like.
  • the hair styling device can not only manage moisture regulation during hair styling by retaining the moisture in the treatment section, but it can also return some of the moisture emitted during hair shaping to the hair.
  • a first temperature zone and a second temperature zone can be provided in the treatment section for a return of water delivered.
  • the first temperature zone comprises the treatment elements and has a higher temperature than the second temperature zone.
  • water is removed from the hair.
  • the second, cooler temperature zone serves to condense and collect the extracted water and, for the most part, to return it to the hair after the hair has been transformed.
  • a type of condensation surface may be formed in the treatment section, at which the water vapor is deposited.
  • the distance between the heatable treatment elements and the condensation surfaces can be configured in such a way, d. H. be far enough that they have a significant temperature difference.
  • a part of this second temperature zone can be formed, for example, by the moisture retention elements.
  • the temperature of the treatment elements is preferably more than 50 ° C, more preferably more than 80 ° C, in particular about 90 to 180 ° C.
  • the temperature should preferably be limited to not higher than 230 ° C, preferably not higher than 200 ° C to avoid damage to the hair structure.
  • Healthy and native hair so such that is not yet treated chemically (eg, with coloring, permanent waving, relaxers, etc.) or excessive heat treatments, e.g. B. was subjected by hair dryer, flat iron and curling iron, has a water content of about 15% (for a representative standard sample) under the usual environmental conditions and indoor air conditions. The water content in the hair varies primarily depending on the humidity.
  • the hair styling device according to the invention allows by a Retention of moisture in the hair or by an optional return of the previously extracted moisture in the hair even with thin strands of hair a convenient heat transfer and short contact time.
  • the hair styling device according to the invention especially when both principles are used in combination, the moisture loss compared to conventional hair straighteners significantly reduced. If no additional water is added from the outside, the moisture losses are about 0 to 6%, preferably about 0 to 5%, more preferably less than 3%.
  • the second temperature zone can be arranged substantially parallel to the first temperature zone and in the treatment direction after the treatment element.
  • the second temperature zone is arranged in the hair treatment direction both before and after the first temperature zone.
  • the hair styling device according to the invention comprises a moisture return element which is formed separately or integrally with the moisture retention device. It may preferably be in the second temperature zone, for. B. when leaving the treatment section, be arranged.
  • the housing for.
  • additional condensation surfaces are arranged over which sweeps the hair after its treatment. Since this area of the housing is not heated, a natural temperature gradient is present, so that separates water on the cooler condensation surfaces. The passing hair can do that condensed water can be recycled back to the hair.
  • thermal bridges over the arm, ie the housing can be largely prevented.
  • thermal insulating or insulating elements for. B. of insulating wool or in the form of an air gap, be appropriate.
  • the second temperature zone may have a condensation surface with a special surface structure.
  • a condensation surface with a special surface structure.
  • the condensation surface is at the same height level as the heatable treatment surface.
  • contact with the passing hair can be ensured.
  • the same level means that the surface giving off the condensed water extends into the drawing path of the hair to be treated, where it receives the most uniform contact possible with the hair.
  • Special moisture-returning elements such as roll-like or sponge-like moisture retention elements, can prevent the water released by the hair from evaporating to the outside.
  • the elements can absorb condensed water and release it to the passing hair.
  • the rollers or sponges may be made of a closed or preferably open-cell foam material, which absorb water and can release it again by pressure when passing hair.
  • the pressure can be regulated either by the pressure exerted by the user during hair-shaping or by separate, eg spring-loaded rollers.
  • rolling is another advantage that always results in a certain temperature gradient through the constantly changing contact zone between the role and strand of hair due to the rotation of the role, which enhances the condensation effect.
  • rollers are used, they are preferably at least on the long sides of the Device, ie applied application before and / or after the treatment area on the housing. The rollers can at the same time fulfill the function of the moisture retention device in this section.
  • those materials may preferably be used in the condensation surfaces which, by themselves or by a special coating, have water-repellent, so-called hydrophobic, properties, since they cause a beading effect of the condensed water.
  • Hydrophobic surfaces can be produced for example by waxy and / or paraffin-like surface structures and in particular nanostructures. But also by a corresponding structuring of the surface of the material itself hydrophobically equipped moisture retaining elements can be produced. Due to the hydrophobic finish of the preferably flexible elements, the water droplets condensed on the elements slide toward the hair.
  • the surfaces of the moisture retention members may be hydrophilically finished to facilitate planar condensation of the water vapor on the members.
  • an additional moisture film can be provided on the surface.
  • the moisture film may cause substantially uniform wetting of the hairs passing through the elements after their treatment. This results in improved moisture regulation by recycling at least a portion of the evaporated water to the treated hair.
  • the hair styling device has a substantially flat treatment section, eg two smooth plates as treatment elements.
  • the treatment elements can be used as clamping elements, by means of which a tensile force expedient for hair-shaping can be exerted on the hair lying in the treatment section.
  • the hair styling device has a substantially curved treatment section.
  • the surface of the treatment section be smooth on both or at least on one side. This is particularly useful in the hair shaping of curly or curled hair in substantially smooth hair.
  • the treatment section may have a structured surface, in particular if curly and / or wavy hair transformations are desired.
  • the hair styling device may comprise a traction transmission device arranged in or substantially adjacent to the treatment section with a contact surface for transmitting tensile forces to the hair to be formed in the treatment section.
  • a traction transmission device arranged in or substantially adjacent to the treatment section with a contact surface for transmitting tensile forces to the hair to be formed in the treatment section.
  • the tensile force transmission device can be exercised on the hair to be reshaped appropriate for the hair transformation tensile force.
  • the tensile force is preferably used throughout the treatment time, i. the interaction time required for hair-shaping at a given temperature, applied to the strand of hair lying in the treatment section.
  • Exemplary applicable tensile forces between hair surface and a tensile force transmission device are between about 2 to 5 N, preferably between about 2 to 3 N.
  • the tensile force transmission can z.
  • Example via clamping lips (for example made of silicone, a high-temperature resistant plastic, a spring-mounted metal rail), which are preferably attached to one side of the device and between which the hair strand is trapped while pulling through.
