Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hair styling device with a number of first and second radiation sources. This can be used for temporary and permanent hair shaping, in particular for hair straightening or curling.
  • Conventional hair styling devices are, for example, plate-style hair straighteners or round curling irons, in which the hairs are each transformed by the application of heat.
  • heat When hair is transformed by means of heat, hydrogen bonds are usually dissolved in the hair structure and re-formed after the heat has been released.
  • this type of hair shaping is called a temporary hair shaping, as this is usually reversible after a short time or little external environmental influences such as heat or moisture.
  • Alternative conventional hair dressings are also made chemically, e.g. in a conventional permanent wave treatment performed.
  • chemical hair reshaping disulfide bonds of keratin are broken and then re-formed with new binding partners, e.g. mechanically held new shape.
  • the chemical process is multi-stage and the shaping of the hair is called durable, because the new hair shape less responsive to environmental influences than a purely hydrogen-bonded temporary hair transfusion.
  • WO 2010 096598 A2 are applied to the hair particles, such as tourmaline particles, excited by means of electromagnetic radiation, which in turn emit radiation to the hair.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a hair styling device with which the hair can optionally be temporarily or permanently reshaped.
  • the hair styling device according to the invention for the application for temporary or permanent hair shaping comprises a number of first radiation sources for a temporary hair shaping, i. Radiation sources having a radiation power for breaking up substantially hydrogen bonds in the hair structure.
  • the hair styling device according to the invention comprises a number of second radiation sources for permanent hair shaping.
  • a radiation source is understood to mean an electromagnetic radiation source which emits radiation, preferably in specific wavelength ranges, to hair strands in a treatment section of the device.
  • the radiation is thereby adapted to the molecular bonds or bonds existing between two molecules, so that a splitting and subsequent rearrangement (i.e., formation with respectively new binding partners) of hydrogen bonds and / or disulfide bonds of the keratin is made possible.
  • the radiation source may e.g. be an electrical resistance that heats up at current flow, or other radiation-emitting sources (e.g., LED, OLED) that provide photons of the desired energy and, if possible, in sufficient quantity for the particular temporary or permanent hair-shaping process. Therefore, by the special adaptation of the device to the respective desired Haarumformungslui, the time required for hair shaping, especially for the permanent hair shaping, compared to the conventional devices can be reduced.
  • the hair styling device comprises a control device for controlling the radiation output of the first radiation source for the temporary hair shaping and the second radiation source for the permanent hair shaping on a hair treatment section in the hair styling device.
  • Control device may be a switch or regulator, with which the radiation output is adjustable so that it can be switched between a temporary and a permanent Haarumformung the hair in a treatment section.
  • a switch may be used to turn on or off one or more radiation sources of the first and / or second radiation sources.
  • a regulator may regulate the power of a radiation source to vary the power, or the type of radiation (ie, wavelength, frequency, emission spectrum, etc.) of the controlled radiation sources.
  • the process of hair-shaping can thus be controlled in a very targeted manner, since the power of the radiation sources can be varied quickly as required (eg rapid switching on / off of the radiation sources or rapid change of the radiation power). This option allows you to correct short-term changes in the taste of the user with a single device.
  • the hair styling device comprises only one type of first or second radiation sources which can be switched over by the control device over a specific treatment period in such a way that they serve as the respective other radiation source. That is, the control device can switch the radiation output of one or more of the first radiation sources over a specific treatment period such that they serve as second radiation sources for permanent hair shaping or vice versa.
  • the radiation sources can thus be controlled in such a way that they can be switched over from a radiation source with a type of radiation for the temporary hair transformation into a radiation source for a type of radiation for permanent hair reshaping.
  • both radiation sources, i. the first and second radiation sources are replaced by a radiation source of variable radiation type. This simplifies the overall structure of the hair styling device.
  • the switching can be controlled by a change in the emitted wavelength or the emission spectrum of the radiation source, for example an LED, OLED, laser.
  • a change in the emitted wavelength or the emission spectrum of the radiation source for example an LED, OLED, laser.
  • these can Switches are also combined with an upstream circuit of one or more filter elements (frequency doubler, notch filters, etc.) which allow additional variation of the transmitted wavelength spectrum. By using one or two such filter elements, the corresponding wavelength band for a temporary or permanent hair transformation can then be changed without changing the radiation source.
  • the control device controls the corresponding selection of the filter elements.
  • the control device can adapt the power of one or more first and / or second radiation sources to the desired hair shaping.
  • the power variation of the radiation can be done in different ways. For example, instead of one, several equivalent or differently powered radiation sources may be used. Depending on the performance required for operation, different numbers of these radiation sources can be activated.
  • the radiation power is varied by clocking one or more radiation sources the same or different. Depending on the type of radiation source, the applied voltage can be varied to adjust the emission power of the radiation source accordingly.

For example, determine the length and width of the treatment section in which an interaction of the radiation with the hair structure, the appropriate power output to this treatment section. The person skilled in the art can likewise determine the optimum ranges of the wavelengths used and the services provided for hair shaping for the amount of hair treatable in the treatment section. These predetermined values can either be predetermined or variably adjustable for the user in a certain application area on the hair styling device during use.

  • the type of hair it is also possible to distinguish what condition the hair is in (for example, healthy or very stressed). This allows conclusions to be drawn on the number of existing bonds in the hair and thus the necessary power for the desired degree of deformation can be provided.
  • the radiation necessary to break down the second weakest binding of keratin, namely the SC bond, is about 413 nm. Therefore, it can be achieved that the keratin, with the exception of the disulfide bonds, remains substantially intact when the minimum wavelength of the radiation is about 413 nm is limited.
  • another embodiment of the hair styling device of the present invention comprises a radiation source for permanent hair styling with a radiation emitter for radiation having a wavelength in the range of about 415 to 440 nm.
  • This is called visible radiation (VIS), which lies in an optical spectral range of about 380 to 780 nm wavelength.
  • VIS visible radiation
  • the advantage of this wavelength range is that selectively the weakest bonds of the hair structure, namely the disulfide bonds, can be split and re-formed after a restructuring of the hair. This leaves the hair structure in tact, but the hairstyle, ie the Hair itself, get a permanently changed outer shape or shape.
  • the limitation of the wavelength range can be carried out, for example, with the aid of radiation sources with a single wavelength or with a narrow emission spectrum or additionally with optical filters (eg so-called blocking filters). • the second radiation source preferably has a power in the range of at least 15 watts.
  • the power is preferably at a maximum of about 200 watts, more preferably about 100 watts and in particular at about 15 to 50 watts.
  • the radiation sources are more preferably further regulatable in their performance, so that they can also be operated in power ranges below 15 watts, for example in a range of about 1 watt to 15 watts ,
  • a further embodiment of the hair styling device comprises a radiation source for temporary hair shaping with a radiation emitter for radiation having a wavelength in the range of greater than 440 nm to about 10 microns, which also larger wavelength components may be present. More preferably, the radiation is about 3 to 10 microns.
  • the radiation in this wavelength range is generated for example by a black body radiator with a temperature of about 500 K.
  • the preferably used radiation is classified in the so-called "IR-C" wavelength range of infrared radiation.
  • IR-C wavelength range of infrared radiation.
  • the division into the different regions of infrared radiation is not clearly defined in the literature and is sometimes used inconsistently. Therefore, here the IR range is subdivided into “medium infrared radiation” (about 3-50 ⁇ m) and “far infrared radiation” (about 50-1000 ⁇ m) so that, according to the invention, medium infrared radiation is preferably used for the temporary hair shaping.
  • the power of the first radiation sources for temporary hair-shaping is preferably set in a range of at least 10 mW.
  • performances of less than 10 mW for example performances in a range of about 1-10 mW, preferably 5-10 mW, are applicable, especially if a gentler hair transformation is desired or a hair shaping with the breaking of less hydrogen bonds already for the desired effect sufficient.

  • the hair styling device is equipped with a control device (selector switch or similar device). If the user selects the temporary hair transformation, only the first radiation source is activated, which emits, for example, radiation in a wavelength range of approximately 3 to 10 ⁇ m. If, on the other hand, a permanent shaping of the hair is desired, either the second radiation source, which emits, for example, radiation in a wavelength range from about 415 to 440 nm, can be used alone or in conjunction with the first radiation source. So that the hair section to be treated can be kept in tension during the treatment, these are preferably arranged in the pulling direction (usually away from the head) of the device on the side of the treatment section facing away from the head. For example, in a forceps construction of the hair styling device having a treatment portion formed of two forceps ends, they may be disposed on the side of the forceps ends which is held away from the head.

  • Such tong-like housing forms are known to those skilled in the field of conventional hair straighteners.
  • the advantage of such an embodiment lies in the fact that the two radiation areas located opposite one another act on the hair from two sides of the hair strand guided therebetween. This increases the efficiency of the interaction of the radiation with the hair, so that the power of the individual radiation sources can be set lower. This makes it possible, with a smaller footprint, to reduce the power so far that, for example, a battery-independent battery operation is possible.
  • An exemplary variant for this embodiment is the combination of a conventional hair straightener with a conventional hot plate as the first radiation source for the temporary forming (preferably in the power range described above) in combination with a switchable or usable second radiation source (preferably 415-440 nm) for the permanent deformation of the hair.

Optionally, a pull on the hair strand can be exercised to support the forming process. This variant allows the production of hair curls, because the hair strand is guided around the fixed portion of the device during the treatment and thereby the strand is held in a curved shape during the hair shaping.
