Claims (19)
- Capsule (1) consisting of a preferably rotationally symmetrical capsule body (2) having a side wall (3) and having a base (4) which is realized in particular integrally with said side wall, as well as having a lid (5) which covers the capsule body (2) for forming a closed chamber (6) which contains a substance (7) for the preparation of a foodstuff, wherein the capsule body (2) comprises at least one slot (5) for the passage of a liquid through the capsule (1), said slot being formed substantially without material removal, and wherein the slot (8) is formed in the capsule body (2) prior to the intended use of the capsule (1) in an apparatus for producing a foodstuff, characterized in that the slot (8) is closed with a substantially hermetic layer (10), in particular on the side of the capsule body (2) which is remote from and/or facing the chamber (6).
- Capsule (1) according to Claim 1, characterized in that the layer (10) is applied on at least one of the opposite edges (9) of the slot (8).
- Capsule (1) according to either of Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the layer (10) consists at least of a dissolvable and food-safe material, of aluminum or a dissolvable polymer which melts in particular at temperatures in excess of 50 °C, or arbitrary combinations thereof.
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the slot (8) is openable from a position of rest (15) into an open position (16) by means of an action of force, in particular a mechanical and/or hydraulic action of force and in that the slot (8) is closable in a substantially reversible manner once the action of force has been removed and returns substantially into the position of rest (15).
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the capsule body (2) is produced in particular from a polymer by means of a deep-drawing process, in a preferred manner with a wall thickness within the range of between 0.05 mm and 0.4 mm, in a particularly preferred manner within the range of between 0.06 mm and 0.3 mm and in a quite particularly preferred manner within the range of between 0.07 mm and 0.25 mm.
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the capsule body (2) comprises at least two slots (8), especially at least three slots (8) and further especially at least four slots (8), which are arranged in the base (4).
- Capsule (1), in particular according to one of Claims 1 to 6, consisting of a preferably rotationally symmetrical capsule body (2) which consists, in particular, of a polymer, having a side wall (3) and having a base (4) which is realized in particular integrally with said side wall, as well as having a lid (5) which covers the capsule body (2) for forming a closed chamber (6) which contains a substance (7) for the preparation of a foodstuff, wherein the capsule body (2) comprises at least one opening (20), in particular a slot (5), for the passage of a liquid through the capsule (1), characterized in that a substantially hermetic, in particular aroma-tight membrane (26) is arranged and in particular is fastened between the substance (7) and the opening (20) for sealing the closed chamber (6) in relation to the opening (20).
- Capsule (1) according to Claim 7, characterized in that the membrane (26) is arranged at least in the region of the at least one opening (20) at a spacing from the side wall (3) and/or the base (4), in particular from the entire base (4).
- Capsule (1) according to either one of Claims 7 or 8, characterized in that the capsule body (2) comprises at least two openings (20), wherein all of the openings (20) are arranged on the side of the membrane (26) remote from the substance (7).
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 7 to 9, characterized in that the membrane (26) is arranged in such a manner that, when used as intended, it is penetratable in operation by a penetrating device (18) of the apparatus for the preparation of the foodstuff.
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 7 to 10, characterized in that the membrane (26) is produced from aluminum and/or a laminate which is in particular substantially plastically deformable.
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 7 to 11, characterized in that the capsule body (2) and the lid (5) are produced from a substantially hermetic, in particular aroma-tight material.
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 7 to 12, characterized in that all of the openings (20) are arranged in the base (4).
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 13, wherein at least the base (4) is penetratable at a penetration region (23) of the base (4) by way of a penetrating device (18) which is arranged outside the capsule (1) for the passage of the liquid through the closed chamber (6), wherein the base (4) comprises a reinforcement region (24), and wherein in particular a central region of the base (4) is realized as the penetration region (23), characterized in that the reinforcement region (24) is arranged in particular in a rotationally symmetrical manner around the penetration region (23), wherein the reinforcement region (24) is realized in the base (4) as at least one portion-wise indentation (25) substantially in the circumferential direction.
- Capsule (1) according to Claim 14, characterized in that the indentation (25) comprises at least two wall portions which are inclined toward one another.
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 15, characterized in that the slot (5) can be produced or is produced using a blade or using a laser.
- Capsule body (2) for a capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 16.
- Method for producing a capsule body (2), in particular according to Claim 17, including a deep-drawing of the capsule body (2) with following and/or simultaneous cutting of at least one slot (8), in such a manner that substantially no material is removed, wherein in particular the opposite edges (9) of the slot (8) contact one another at least in portions, in a preferred manner along at least 90%, in a particularly preferred manner along at least 95% and in a quite especially preferred manner along 100% of a length (1) of the slot (8).
- System (11) including a capsule (1) which is filled with a substance (7) according to one of Claims 1 to 16 and a beverage producing apparatus (12), wherein the beverage producing apparatus (12) comprises a capsule holder (13) for receiving the capsule (1), as well as a device (14) for supplying a liquid into the capsule (1) for extracting the substance (7) for producing a beverage, wherein the beverage is removable through a lid (5) of the capsule (1) or that the beverage producing apparatus additionally comprises a penetrating device.
