- the Fugue 12 is arranged between two adjacent sections of the cover layer 20.
- an open-pored asphalt may be provided to form the cover layer 20.
- Fig. 2 concerning the detail I can be seen, arranged in particular in the upper region of the barrier layer, a barrier layer above which in the direction of a slope of the road surface 2 water W runs.
- Fig. 2 now shows the detail I according to Fig. 1 , wherein particularly well the arrangement of the barrier layer 4 in the upper region of the binder layer 6 can be seen.
- Fig. 2 the basic structure of the joint 12 with opposite joint flanks 14 and 16 and a joint bottom 18 are removed, wherein in the joint 12, an inventive system 10, consisting of a solidified potting material 22 and the element 24 with a base body 26 is disposed.
- Fig. 3 shows in a cross section, the joint 12 with a first embodiment of the erfindunlicen element 24 in a system 10, which forms an already cured, waterproof potting material 22, which forms a connection to the upper part of the two cover layer sections 20.1 and 20.2, which are permeable to water, and the element 24, which has a trapezoidal in cross-section base body 26 comprises, wherein in a first, upper part 28 of the element 24 two contact elements 30.1 and 30.2 are arranged, which bear sealingly against the joint flanks 14 and 16.
- the filled cold or hot-processable potting material 22 does not reach the lower region of the joint 12 and, in particular, the joint bottom 18 and thus constitute a barrier to drainage.
- the first, upper part 28 of the element 24 is thus formed by the abutment elements 30.1 and 30.2 and the upper side of the main body 26, which faces the potting material.
- the upper side possibly also reaching into a certain depth into the base body 26, is impermeable to the potting material 22 like the contact elements 30.1 and 30.2. This can be achieved, for example, by impregnating with a bitumen material, this bituminous material having different physicochemical properties than the bituminous material which would optionally be used in a hot-workable grout 22.
- the remaining part of the main body 26 is in the embodiment according to Fig. 3 permeable to water.
- the base body 26 of the element 24 is formed from an open-pored plastic or for example from a lattice structure, in which water via side surfaces 34.1 and 34.2 or via a bottom 40 from the main body 26 of the element 24 emerge or enter into this and also can drain again. If necessary, you can additionally in a lower part 36 of the element 24, and preferably at the bottom 40 of the base body 26, Tarstellelemente be arranged 38.1 and 38.2, by means of which a non-full surface support of the base body 26 and thus of the element 24 is achieved on the joint bottom 18. As a result, a water discharge in the region of the joint 12 is further improved.
- the contact elements 30.1 and 30.2 are flexible and also articulated insofar as they can be used even at smaller joint widths, in which case the contact elements 30.1 and 30.2 can create slightly higher up against the joint flanks 14 and 16 of the joint 12, such as indicated by an arrow 32 in Fig. 3 ,
- the upper part 28 of the element 24 unlike the first, in the Fig. 3 embodiment shown also not integrally connected to the main body or the contact elements 30.1 and 30.2.
- the upper part 28 of the element 24 may also represent an insert film, or be, for example, a thin extruded profile made of a heat-resistant plastic material, which applies sealingly against the joint flanks 14 and 16 of the joint 12.
- Fig. 4 shows a second embodiment of the element 24 according to the invention, wherein now the element 24 is formed as a round profile and is arranged directly on the joint bottom 18 of the joint 12.
- the element 24 is made for example of an open-cell plastic, which is permeable to water.
- the element 24 has a main body 26, which has in an upper part 28 of the element 24 abutment elements 30.1 and 30.2, which bear sealingly against the joint flanks 14 and 16 respectively.
- these abutment elements 30.1 and 30.2 could also be omitted, as far as by the cross-section of the element 14 selected by a person skilled in the art, the latter abuts sufficiently against the joint flanks 14 and 16.
- the element 24 would then consist of the base body 26 with a first, upper part 28, wherein the upper part 28 may be for example a directly applied to the base body 26 protective layer, which is impermeable to potting material 22, and for example of a bituminous Material can be formed.
- the upper part 28 may also be formed, for example, from a film which prevents seepage of the potting material 22 in the direction of the joint bottom 18.
- the present invention thus provides an element with which joints can be closed in outer layers, in particular made of open-pored asphalt, without running the risk that due to the material introduced into the joint it to an at least partial interruption of the water flow along a slope of a Road surface comes and thereby the drainage of a top layer is at least partially inhibited.
- the element according to the invention is easy to install in a system consisting at least of the potting material and the insert element, as far as integrally connected to this, the first, upper part, which is impermeable to the potting material substantially.
- substantially impermeable in the context of the present invention means that potting material can not significantly affect the insert element so in its function as a means of maintaining dewatering in outer layers, that is always a water permeability in the region of a joint Is made available.
- the system can furthermore also have, for example, a primer, in particular for the potting compound, and it can also be provided that the element is designed in several parts in that at least the first, upper part is designed as a film or otherwise formed protective layer or protective barrier, which is not directly connected in particular with the main body of the insert element.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an element for road construction for sealing joints with joint edges and a joint bottom.
For sealing joints in road construction in particular joint tapes are known, which are used for the production of seams and connections. Seams occur in a composite of adjacent installation strips of mix with comparable properties, while connections are called compounds of one-way webs of mix with different properties. An example of this is a connection of rolled asphalt to mastic asphalt and vice versa. Connections are formed especially in a building "new" against "old", since there is a difference in the characteristics of the introduced to the new installation track or the cover material used for this purpose alone by the service life of the old installation track. Such building old against new takes place not only in a fundamental rehabilitation of paving, but also in the context of minor or major repairs of paving or when closing trenches. It can also be provided that not be produced in one operation installation rails are divided into several smaller sections, in turn, then there is the need for a particular sealing connection of the installation track of the new cover layer material to the existing installation track. But also in the adaptation of internals such as covers of sewage connections such as manhole covers or slide valves and edge borders arise connections that need to be closed.
Apart from joint tapes, the use of casting compounds that can be processed cold or hot is also known for sealing seams in particular. The joint tapes as well as the potting compounds predominantly have a bituminous base, but it is also possible to use those which do not comprise bitumen, in particular in the case of casting compounds which can be cold worked.
By means of the joint tapes and potting compounds known from the prior art, a region extending over the entire joint depth is created, which is essentially impermeable to water. At most, cracks, which may result from improper processing, allow the unwanted passage of water, but possibly also of other liquids, such as gasoline or motor oils spilled in accidents.
However, if the known from the prior art joint tapes or potting materials used for the production of seams or connections in water-permeable paving, which are known under the terms drain asphalt or whisper asphalt and from open-pore outer layer materials (open-pored asphalt (OPA)) can be created in the worst Case by means of the techniques known from the prior art, in particular at a sufficient joint depth, prevents water drainage due to the barrier formed by joint tapes or potting materials. Road surfaces with water-permeable installation strips comprise a water-permeable cover layer, under which a binder layer is arranged, the surface of which is essentially impermeable to water for the purpose of discharging water along the road, for example, a roadway. Because of this barrier layer and the existing gradient, therefore, the water-permeable cover layers can be dewatered.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a solution by means of which joints in road construction especially when using water-permeable road construction materials drainage is possible.
This object is achieved by an element for road construction for sealing joints with joint flanks and a joint bottom, comprising a main body and a first part facing the potting material, which is substantially impermeable to the potting material. This first part of the element serves to prevent a complete backfilling of a joint with the potting material further encompassed by the system according to the invention, which would then ultimately restore a completely water-impermeable barrier. Furthermore, a free space of any kind is created by this first part of the element with a suitable design of the same, through which water can drain, so that no barrier is created in a cover layer for water, and this rather run in the direction of the gradient above the barrier layer and so that the road can be drained, and the element allows the outflow of water. According to the invention, the element in the first part of each of the joint edges associated with at least one contact element. This contact element can preferably be designed to be flexible, and is in particular also designed to be able to adjust so different joint widths. A certain flexibility of the contact element is preferred. The contact element may be, for example, dovetailed, based on the cross section, formed. But everyone else, the expert immediately catchy Cross-section of such a contact element is included in the subject matter of the present invention. The abutment elements are arranged, for example, starting from the upper side or the upper region of the side surfaces of the main body of the element. The first, impermeable to the potting material part can be formed in such a configuration by the surface area of the body and preferably arranged on this and the joint edges associated conditioning elements. The contact elements attach themselves to the joint edges over the entire length of the element. Alternatively, training is possible, with only one contact element is used. For example, by the main body itself a sealing contact with a joint edge can be achieved, whereas a sealing contact with the opposing joint flank is provided by a contact element. The contact element as well as the first part prevents seepage of the potting material, and is preferably also impermeable to water.
A system comprises at least one potting material and at least one of the elements according to the invention, which can be arranged at the joint bottom. The potting material can be a cold, but also hot processed potting material. Preferably, the potting material is one with a bituminous base, wherein preferably polymer-modified bitumen is used, ie a bitumen, which has been adjusted by the addition of plastics. However, it is also possible to use a pure bitumen, also mixtures of at least one bitumen with at least one polyurethane, also emulsions, but also in particular mixtures of different bitumen and in particular mixtures of polymer-modified bitumen. The bituminous material used may in particular also comprise fillers, such as mineral rock minerals or fibers. The potting material preferably has a cone penetration [1/10 mm] according to BS2499-3 (TP2.4.6) in a range of 50 to 300, preferably 50 to 220, still more preferably 50 to 100. Furthermore, the potting material preferably has a softening point RuK according to DIN EN 1427 of at least about 70 ° C, more preferably at least about 75 ° C, even more preferably at least about 80 ° C. Hot-processable grouts can be used in all types of traffic areas, ie those made of concrete and / or asphalt. Cold applied joint compounds can also be used, but are preferably used in traffic areas made of concrete. Cold-processable joint compounds in the context of the present invention are reactive, without heat input installable one- or two-component system with predominantly elastic properties, with particular preference being given to polyurethane-based. These preferably have a tensile and adhesive strength (elongation span) according to DIN EN 28340 at 23 ° C. of at least about 0.15 N / mm 2 , more preferably at least about 0.2 N / mm 2 . Preferably, cold workable joint compounds have a resilience according to DIN EN 27389 of at least about 70%, preferably at least 80%.
The potting material or the mixture of potting materials which are used in the system, form a practically impermeable to water production impermeable connection or seam.
The system may further comprise in particular a primer, which is distributed before the introduction of the joint material, possibly also before introduction of the element, on the joint edges and possibly on the bottom of the joint. However, in order to provide a preferred two-sided adhesion, an application of a primer, also known as a primer / adhesive, preferably takes place only on one or both joint flanks.
The element according to the invention comprises, in addition to the first part facing the potting material, a second part facing the joint bottom. The first and the second part can together form the entire height of the element, but even between these still another area can be created. The first and the second part can in particular also be completely accommodated in the base body, but also adjoin or extend beyond it. It is preferably provided that the first part is at least partially formed by the top of the body, more preferably, the first part can extend over a thickness of up to 10%, based on the total height of the basic body of the element. The first part may preferably be formed of bituminous material, but it can also be made of any other, a flow through the potting material preventing material. Preferably, when bituminous material is used for the first part of the element, it differs from a bituminous material used in the potting compound. Preferably, the bituminous material used for the first part has a softening point RuK according to DIN EN 1427 of at least about 90 ° C and a cone penetration according to BS2499-3 of 20 to 50 1/10 mm.
Particularly preferably, the element according to the invention is designed as an extruded profile. In this case, the insert element may be formed as a solid profile, for example as a round profile, or as an open profile, but particularly preferably as a hollow chamber profile. However, the present invention also covers such embodiments in which the element is inserted in several sections in a joint. In particular, from the The present invention also encompasses an embodiment of the system in which a plurality of elements are arranged in a joint spaced apart from one another, so that an at least partially water-permeable joint closure is provided.
The outflow of water can be done in different ways. Once in a design of the element such that this only partially covers the joint bottom, a water permeability can be achieved. In this case, the element would have whatever openings, which allow water to pass in the direction of the gradient. However, the element may also be designed in such a way that it is itself permeable to water, in which case, for example, water could be discharged via pores and channels, which are accommodated in the element, in the direction of the bottom of the joint so that drainage of the road surface takes place. But combinations of the aforementioned possibilities are preferred.
In a preferred embodiment, the element applies at least partially to the joint edges. Preferably, a sealing contact takes place on the joint flanks. This can for example be made possible by the element, which is preferably flexible and elastic, for example, in such a dimensioning formed as a round profile in a joint and placed on the bottom of the joint, so that the element with its outer surfaces at the joint edges sealing applies, with quite a prior compression of the element can be done. The first, the casting material facing part of the element is preferably not only impermeable to the potting material, but also impermeable to water. The first part may also be formed, for example, in an embodiment of the element in the form of a round profile of an open-pore plastic by a placement of the element in a joint introduced blocking position, which can be introduced solid or liquid. Element and first part can thus be present in one or two parts and, if appropriate, be connected to one another, or else present separately from one another. When using a liquid coatable barrier layer, the potting material is then poured only after curing. An essential prerequisite when using a liquid barrier material, which forms the first, the casting material facing part, is that this at least not penetrate the element itself so strong that a water drainage would be prevented. Thus, the first part encompassed by the element may also be in two parts, in particular when the first part is designed as a barrier layer, for example in the form of a foil or an inserted cross-section, for example double T-like trained profile band, be formed. Preferably, however, the first part is integrated into the element, and preferably at least partially in the main body thereof.
In a preferred embodiment, the main body of the element is at least partially permeable to water, more preferably completely permeable to water. This is also to be understood as an embodiment in which the surface region of the base body which faces the potting material comprises a first part which is substantially impermeable to the potting material, regardless of the nature of this part. Even with a one-piece design with the first part can be permeable to water in the context of the present invention, the body.
Advantageously, the base body is formed from lattice structures, open-pore plastics, woven fabrics, braids, nonwovens and / or rod-shaped structures. Such rod-like structures are preferably in the installed position to a cover layer of vertical elements, such as pins or the like. In the context of the present invention, the base body is particularly preferably formed from lattice structures, pin-like structures and / or coarsely porous foam. As already mentioned above, in this case, the base body can be integrally connected to the first, impermeable to the casting material in an integral training, or this first part may also protrude into the body, so that a part of the apertures providing structure of the body through the filled first part and thus the openings are closed in order to prevent flow through the potting material when installing the same.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, at least the side surfaces of the base body are formed water-impermeable, at least partially. In a further preferred embodiment, at least partially permeable to water is formed on the bottom of the base body. Preferably, the second part of the element, which faces the bottom of the joint, preferably in contrast to the first part is water-permeable. As already described above, while the first and the second part may be part of the body, but also not be associated with this. The present invention thus also includes such embodiments in which the second part of the element is permeable to water, and is not integrated into the main body of the element.
In a further preferred embodiment, the element comprises at least one positioning element for installation of the element on the joint bottom. As a result, advantageously no complete coverage of the joint bottom by the element, so that an improved water drainage is ensured. The positioning element can in turn be designed to be flexible, optionally also compressible, and can have any possible cross-section, for example once again dovetail-shaped or trapezoidal with respect to the cross-section.
Finally, the present invention also relates to the use of the element according to the invention for road construction for sealing joints in cover layers.

The present invention thus provides an element with which joints can be closed in outer layers, in particular made of open-pored asphalt, without running the risk that due to the material introduced into the joint it to an at least partial interruption of the water flow along a slope of a Road surface comes and thereby the drainage of a top layer is at least partially inhibited. The element according to the invention is easy to install in a system consisting at least of the potting material and the insert element, as far as integrally connected to this, the first, upper part, which is impermeable to the potting material substantially. It should be noted at this point that substantially impermeable in the context of the present invention means that potting material can not significantly affect the insert element so in its function as a means of maintaining dewatering in outer layers, that is always a water permeability in the region of a joint Is made available. The system can furthermore also have, for example, a primer, in particular for the potting compound, and it can also be provided that the element is designed in several parts in that at least the first, upper part is designed as a film or otherwise formed protective layer or protective barrier, which is not directly connected in particular with the main body of the insert element.
