Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for removing long fibers from a pulp suspension.
- the invention also relates to a device for removing long fibers from a pulp suspension with a rotor having rotor blades, in particular for carrying out the method.
- the fibers When a new pulp suspension is prepared from wood or when recovered paper is converted to a pulp suspension, the fibers generally have very different lengths. It may then be advantageous to separate the short cellulose fibers from long cellulose fibers, especially to be able to produce paper sheets with different qualities.
- the recovery of a long fiber fraction containing long fibers and, for example, free of mineral contents may also be of interest.
- the US 4,427,541 again, describes a method for removing long fibers from a pulp suspension, wherein a jet of the pulp suspension is directed onto a rotor disk and the jet direction with the axis of rotation forms an angle of less than 45 °.
- pulp suspension also extends to fibers containing process or wastewater, in which the recovery of the fibers is in the foreground.
- the object of the invention is therefore to make the sorting of long fibers as simple and efficient as possible.
- this object is achieved in that a jet of pulp suspension is directed to the rotor blades of a rotor, wherein the jet direction with the rotation axis forms an angle of less than 45 ° and longer fibers adhering to the rotor blades are thrown off the rotor blades due to the centrifugal force and are collected separately.
- the process according to the invention for separating a long fiber fraction from a pulp suspension hardly causes any risk of clogging. Therefore, the invention is also suitable for the treatment of pulp suspensions with fabric densities up to 3.5%, preferably up to 3.5%.
- the method is very efficient, since predominantly only the long fibers stick to the rotor blades, collect, slide radially outward on the rotor blades and are thrown off from there.
- the beam direction of the pulp suspension jet should be approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor.
- the jet of pulp suspension is accelerated before striking the rotor blades. This acceleration causes alignment of the fibers in the flow direction, which assists in capturing the long fibers by the rotor blades.
- the speed of the pulp suspension jet when hitting the rotor blades is between 3 and 20 m / s and / or the peripheral speed of the rotor blades is between 10 and 70, preferably between 20 and 40 m / s. In this way it is ensured that as far as possible only the long fibers adhere to the rotor blades, wherein the proportion of removed long fibers can be increased by increasing the peripheral speed.
- the pulp suspension jet should at least predominantly, preferably exclusively extend only over a radially inner region of the rotor blades.
- a comprehensive use of the rotor blades can be achieved, in particular, if the pulp suspension jet has an annular cross-section enclosing the axis of rotation of the rotor. It is advantageous if the annular pulp suspension jet has a ring thickness between 1 and 5 mm.
- the device according to the invention is essential that a jet of pulp suspension is directed to the rotor blades of the rotor, the jet direction with the rotation axis forms an angle of less than 45 °, the rotor blades have a pointing in the direction of rotation vane edge and in the centrifugal region of the rotor blade collecting chambers for arranged by the rotor blades thrown, longer fibers are arranged.
- the wing edge should support the collection, collection and centrifuging of the long fiber fraction into the catchment chambers. Therefore, it is advantageous if the wing edge has a thickness between 0.2 and 2 mm.
- the rotor blades In order to ensure that the short fibers and fillers of the pulp suspension flow past the rotor blades as easily as possible, it is advantageous for the rotor blades to have a flat profile, preferably running in the direction of rotation, or to have a wedge-shaped cross section in the direction of rotation, the wedge tip pointing in the direction of rotation and forms the wing edge or are formed as wires or flexible threads.
- the radial sliding out of the long fibers to the spin along the wing edge can be assisted by the fact that the wing edge extends radially outwardly at least in one, preferably at least the outermost portion with respect to the radial inclined towards the rotational direction, wherein the angle between this inclined section and the radial should be between 30 ° and 70 °.
- the effect of the rotor blades can be further increased if the leading edges are not sharp, but have a certain rounding, as can be generated, for example, by electropolishing.
- the beam direction of the pulp suspension jet should be approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor. This makes it possible that the pulp suspension jet is annular and is guided coaxially with the rotor.
- the jet should be directed at the rotor blades via a jet accelerating jet. It is advantageous if the distance between the nozzle and the rotor blades is less than 20 mm, preferably less than 10 and in particular less than 5 mm.
- the small distance between the nozzle outlet and the rotor blades ensures that the orientation of the fibers in the direction of flow, which is increased as a result of the jet acceleration in the nozzle, remains as extensive as possible until it hits the rotor blades.
- the rotor blades have a length between 5 and 30 mm, preferably between 10 and 20 mm and / or the rotor with the rotor blades sweeps a circular area with a diameter between 300 and 1,500 mm.
- annular pulp suspension jet 1 is formed and directed to the rotor blades 2 of a rotor.
- the molded body 8 causes an increase in the flow rate of the pulp suspension 1 and thereby an increased orientation of the fibers in the flow direction which supports the detection of long fibers by the rotor blades 2. So that an orientation of the fibers is not lost too much, the distance between the exit of the jet from the nozzle and the rotor blades 2 is only 5 mm.
- the rotor is driven here by a motor 9 arranged below.
- the jet direction of the pulp suspension jet 1 coincides with the rotor axis 3 of the rotor, wherein the velocity of the pulp suspension jet 1 when impinging on the rotor blades 2 is between 3 and 20 m / s and the peripheral speed of the rotor blades 2 is between 20 and 40 m / s. If the proportion of long fibers separated off via the rotor blades 2 is to be increased, then the peripheral speed of the rotor blades 2 is to be increased for this purpose.
- the centrifuging is not affected by the pulp suspension jet 1, the pulp suspension jet 1 is directed only to the radially inner part of the rotor blades 2, wherein the ring thickness is between 1 and 5 mm and the rotor blades 2 have a length between 10 and 20 mm.
- the rotor with the rotor blades 2 sweeps over a circular area with a diameter between 300 and 1,500 mm, which ensures sufficient capacity even with an annular pulp suspension jet 1 in conjunction with the desired flow rate.
- annular pulp suspension jet 1 Since the annular pulp suspension jet 1 is arranged coaxially to the axis of rotation 3, results in an optimal and uniform effect.
- the rotor blades 2 In order to assist the capture of the long fibers when cutting through the pulp suspension jet 1, the rotor blades 2 have an electropolished surface and a vane edge 5 with a thickness with respect to the beam direction between 0.2 and 2 mm.
- the rotor blades 2 according to FIG. 2 are formed by wires which, although straight here, are inclined with respect to the radials counter to the direction of rotation 4 at an angle 12. Due to the inclination of the wing edge 5, the adherent, long fibers on the same easier to slide radially outward and fly from there into the collecting chamber 6.
- FIG. 3 shows the possibility that the rotor blades 2 are connected to each other via their radially inner ends and a radially inner rotor ring 11.
- the rotor blades 2 together with the Rotor ring 11 are relatively inexpensively made of a metal sheet, wherein the sheet thickness between 0.2 and 2 mm and the width of the rotor blades 2 in the direction of rotation 4 is between 1 and 5 mm.
- the rotor blades 2, as in FIG. 5 shown, have a flat and extending in the direction of rotation 4 cross-sectional profile.
- the rotor blades 2 accordingly FIG. 4 have a wedge-shaped cross section in the direction of rotation 4, wherein the wedge tip points in the direction of rotation 4 and the wing edge 5 forms.
- This cross-section also facilitates the shorter fibers passing through the rotor blades 2.
- a plurality of sorting devices according to the invention can also use a common axis of rotation and thus also a common drive 9.
- the sorting devices can be operated in series or in parallel.
