  • the invention further relates to a method for adapting a rotary conveying device to a conveying of articles of the tobacco processing industry with different format.
  • Rotary conveying devices of the type mentioned can be, for example, suction rollers, conveyor drums or other, essentially cylindrical conveyor devices which convey articles of the tobacco-processing industry in a direction of rotation.
  • Rotary conveying devices of the type mentioned are used in drum machines of the tobacco processing industry, in particular in Filteransetzmaschinen and Multifilterherstellmaschinen.
  • Articles of the tobacco processing industry to be conveyed may be, for example, rod-shaped articles such as tobacco sticks, filter rods or cigarettes with or without filters, or sheet-like articles such as filter paper sections, filter paper webs, tipping paper sections or tipping paper webs.
  • the EP 1 447 016 A1 discloses a conveyor drum for articles of the tobacco processing industry with a lifting means with a predetermined longitudinal axial stroke for longitudinally aligned with each other and conveyed in at least one row queraxial the conveyor drum article.
  • a lifting means at least one magnetic lifting device is provided.
  • the WO 2010/012420 A1 relates to a conveyor drum of the tobacco processing industry with recordings for articles of the tobacco processing industry, in which various types of recordings are provided.
  • the DE 33 10 126 A discloses a cutting apparatus for dividing a continuous web into a plurality of discrete segments, particularly bands, for connecting filters to cigarettes, such that the end portion of the web is supported on a rotating support drum and the segments are supported by the end portion of the web be cut on the support drum by means of a Bahnsehneidmesser.
  • the cutting blade is cyclically moved in a plane transverse to the web and substantially parallel to the axis of the rotary drum so that a transverse progressive cut is made on the web from one longitudinal edge to its opposite longitudinal edge.
  • On the support drum a plurality of Bahnschneidmesser parallel to the axis of the drum are movably mounted at the same angular distance along the circumference of the support drum.
  • These cutting knives are urged to cycle at the angular location or at a fraction of the orbital angle of the support drum where the cut is to be made, an extension or cutting stroke through the web from a laterally retracted home position to a side edge of the web opposite side edge of the web and then make a retraction movement back to the starting position.

  • the film is releasably secured to the shell with fasteners, d. H. the film can be removed from the rotary conveyor and replaced with another film. This other film can then also be releasably secured back on the jacket and is also designed to promote on its side facing away from the jacket articles of the tobacco processing industry; however, unlike the first film, such a second film is preferably adapted to articles of a different format.
  • the invention also allows easier maintenance or repair, in particular cleaning the rotary conveyor: By loosening the attachment of the film on the jacket and removing the film from the rotary conveyor, the film, for example of glue residues, cleaned or otherwise serviced if necessary or replaced with increasing and critical wear or damage by another similar film.
  • the vacuum pockets in the drum shell can be cleaned more easily.
  • Another advantage of the rotary conveyor according to the invention results from the fact that as a replacement or replacement part only films must be kept, which are significantly more space-saving in storage than rotary conveyors as a whole.
  • rotary conveyor device can also interact with other components of a machine of the tobacco processing industry as known from the prior art rotary conveyor devices. Therefore, it is possible to exchange in existing machines of the tobacco processing industry rotary conveyors according to the prior art by inventive rotary conveyors and in this way to be able to use the advantages of the rotary conveyors according to the invention in already existing machines of the tobacco processing industry.
