Definitions

  • the invention relates to a pipette for actuating a syringe.
  • the pipettes used here for actuating a syringe serve to dispense liquid received in the syringe in several steps. They are also referred to as dispensers or repeating pipettes. These pipettes have at the lower end of a rod-shaped housing a receptacle for a flange of a cylinder of the syringe and in the housing a displaceable receiving body with a piston receptacle for the upper end portion of a piston rod of a piston of the syringe.
  • the syringe can be used with the flange and the end portion of the piston rod through axially directed openings of the receptacles.
  • the flange and the end portion are held in the receptacles by means for detachable holding, which are designed, for example, as spring-loaded gripping levers.
  • the pipette comprises means for displacing the receiving body, which allow a partial withdrawal of the piston from the cylinder for the suction of liquid into the syringe and a stepwise depression of the piston into the cylinder for the stepwise discharge of liquid.
  • the DE 29 26 691 C2 and the US 4,406,170 A describe means for displacing the receiving body in the housing. These include an elevator lever connected to the receiving body and projecting out of the housing through a straight-line slot for drawing fluid into the syringe by displacing the receiving body away from the receptacle. In addition, they include a rack-pawl means for gradually advancing the piston by a reciprocating metering lever. At the metering a pivoting pawl is mounted. The rack is connected to the receiving body and arranged in the pivoting range of the pawl. An adjustable sliding cover covers the row of teeth on the rack more or less to limit the engagement of the pawl in the rack when pivoting the metering lever.
  • the sliding cover is displaceable by means of a rotary knob, which is arranged on the pipette housing.
  • the knob is designed with an eccentric guide curve in which engages a guide pin of the sliding cover.
  • the rack is designed with a lofty approach, through which in the advanced position of the piston, the cover of the rack is displaced away, so that it prevents the pawl from engaging in the uncovered teeth of the rack. This Resthubsperre prevents that a residual amount is discharged from the syringe, which is smaller than the dispensed at each dosing dose (dispensing volume).
  • the EP 0 657 216 B1 and US 5,620,661 , A describes such a pipette with a sensor for sensing protrusions and depressions on the syringe flange of the syringes and correspondingly configured syringes.
  • the sensor is used to determine the size of the syringe used.
  • electronics determines the amount of fluid dispensed at each dispensing step. This is displayed on a display.
  • a repeating pipette has a constant stepper, which is the width of the first step to move of the receiving body for the operating portion of the syringe plunger for cylinder intake for the syringe cylinder sets to a constant value, which is independent of the setting of the subsequent step sizes.
  • the cover has an elongated sleeve made of plastic, in which a threaded rod is displaceably arranged.
  • a metal sleeve is glued in the lower end of the plastic sleeve.
  • the metal sleeve protrudes from the lower end of the plastic sleeve and has an incidence edge below, below which the thread is exposed for engaging the pawl.
  • the pawl first slides over the metal sleeve, which prevents the pawl from engaging in the thread of the threaded rod. As soon as the pawl passes the incidence edge during the dosing step, it falls into the thread.
  • the pawl meets a flank or the apex of the thread, which is arranged below the thread root, too little part of the pivoting movement of the metering lever for used the displacement of the threaded rod and thus the piston. Also in this case too little liquid is dispensed. It may even happen that the pawl slips off the flank or the apex of the thread and falls further down into the thread root or several times slipped over the thread, which leads to an increased dosing error or no liquid is discharged.
  • the dosing error can be overcome by adjusting the threaded rod.
  • the threaded rod is screwed into a setting thread in the receiving body for the upper end of the piston rod and provided with a transverse bore.
  • the adjustment of the volume of liquid to be dispensed at each step is also carried out by means of a rotary knob.
  • the engagement of the pawl in the rack by means of the knob is adjustable.
  • the knob on two knob parts whose angular position is adjustable to each other via a transmission.
  • a rotary knob part has markings for adjusting the dosing volume.
  • the other knob part has the guide cam engaged by the pin projecting from the cover. Turn the knob to move the cover along the rack.
  • the present invention seeks to provide a pipette, in which with reduced effort an optimal collapse of the pawl can be achieved in the rack.
  • the pipette according to the invention is based on the finding that a non-optimal collapse of the pawl in the toothing of the rack is significantly based on the manufacturing tolerance of the cover, which is arranged on the rack and limits the engagement of the pawl in the teeth.
  • Decisive for the error is the distance of the incidence edge of the pin or another coupling element, via which the cover is coupled to the dial. Therefore, according to the invention, the cover has a first cover part, on which the pin or another coupling element for coupling with a dial or another adjustment element is arranged, and a second cover part, which has the incidence edge. The first and the second cover part are displaceable relative to each other in the longitudinal direction of the rack.
  • the cover comprises means for positioning, which make it possible to fix the first and the second cover part in a certain setting with respect to each other.
  • the means for positioning thus ensure that the distance of the incidence edge from the coupling element is not changed unintentionally.
  • the adjustment of the first and second cover parts relative to each other and the determination of the first and second cover parts in the set position can basically be done before installing the cover in the pipette. It is sufficient to adjust the cover so that a predetermined distance between the incidence edge and the coupling element is maintained. This adjustment of the cover is easily carried out by hand and automated.
  • the receiving body is displaced between an upper position and a lower position.
  • the upper position is determined by an upper stop at a fixed position in the housing, against which the first means for displacing the receiving body or the receiving body itself meet at the end of the displacement in the housing of the recording away.
  • the lower position is determined by a lower stop at a fixed position in the housing against which the second means for displacing the receiving body or the receiving body itself meet at the end of the displacement of the receiving body for the first recording.
  • the adjustment of the cover is preferably carried out in the upper position of the receiving body, the starting position of the receiving body immediately before dispensing.
  • the first cover part is arranged on the toothed rack and the second cover part is held on the first cover part.
  • the second cover part is arranged on the side facing the pawl of the first cover part.
  • the first cover part has the coupling element and the second cover part has the incidence edge.
  • the first cover part is a carrier for the second cover part.
  • the second cover part is arranged on the toothed rack and the first cover part is held on the second cover part.
  • the first cover part is on the Pawl facing side of the second cover part arranged.
  • the second cover part has the incidence edge and the first cover part has the coupling element. By displacing the first cover part on the second cover part, the distance between the incidence edge and the coupling element is adjustable.
  • the cover has means for axially guiding the second with respect to the first cover part and the first and the second cover part are guided by the means for axially guiding parallel to the rack.
  • the means for axially guiding the second cover part on the edge overarching guide structures of the first cover part is slidable during assembly under the guide structures or snaps under this. Thereafter, the second cover part is secured to the first cover part. As a result, the assembly is facilitated and simultaneously achieved the axial guidance parallel to the rack.
  • the guide structures are preferably designed as a guide hook.
  • the second cover part is a thin-walled metal part, preferably a metal sheet or a metal sleeve.
  • the pawl can be guided at a short distance from the rack, so that it falls directly into the toothing after passing the incidence edge.
  • the first cover part is a guided on the rack hollow body and / or the second cover part strip-shaped.
  • the first Cover member forms a stable support for the second cover part.
  • the hollow body can be manufactured with low error tolerances of plastic, in particular by injection molding.
  • the first cover part is preferably box-shaped with a channel on one side, which receives the rack.
  • the strip-shaped, second cover part can be produced from a sheet metal. In the execution of the second cover part made of metal, the distance between the pawl and toothing and the friction between the pawl and cover can be kept particularly low.
  • the second cover part is resilient. A resilient design of the second cover part favors the achievement of a Resthubsperre which prevents the discharge of a residual amount of liquid from the syringe, if this is less than the set dosage.
  • the rack on the side facing the cover on a protruding cam the first cover part has a longitudinal slot, from which the cam in the displacement of the receiving body for the second attachment portion of the syringe to the first receptacle for the first attachment portion of the syringe towards the outlet and the second cover part has an angled portion and a spring tongue connected therewith, on which the cam strikes the first receptacle at the end of the displacement of the receiving body, whereby the spring tongue is deflected and the latch is prevented from further engagement with the rack by the spring tongue becomes.
  • the second cover part is preferably formed overall as a thin-walled metal part, preferably made of sheet metal. This is advantageous for the formation of the bend and the spring tongue as integral parts of the metal part and for holding the pawl at only a small distance from the teeth. Dimensional tolerances of the first cover part and the Second cover part and tolerances due to the assembly of the first and the second cover part are advantageously compensated by the adjustability of the relative position of the first and second cover part according to the invention.
  • the means for positioning on means for adjusting the position of the second cover part relative to the first cover part in the longitudinal direction of the rack.
  • the means for positioning can be used in this embodiment for the adjustment of the second cover part relative to the first cover part.
  • the means for positioning an eccentric part with a shaft, an eccentric on the shaft and a tool engagement at one end of the shaft wherein the shaft is mounted at one end in a bearing bore of the first cover part or the second cover part and the Exzenter engages in an eccentric receiving the second cover part or the first cover part, so that by rotating the shaft via the eccentric, the second cover part is displaceable relative to the first cover part.
  • This configuration makes it possible to adjust the relative position of the first and second cover parts by simply rotating the shaft.
  • the shaft can be rotated by attaching a tool to the tool bit and turning the tool. In the set position, the first and second cover parts are secured by the means for positioning.
  • the shaft has a friction with respect to the first and / or the second cover part, which prevents the shaft from rotating inadvertently.
  • a disc is arranged at one end of the shaft, which rests on the outside of the second cover part or the first cover part and / or the shaft has at one end a latching projection which has an edge of the bearing bore of the first cover part or of the second Cover part engages behind.

  • the means for positioning comprise a first holder on the first cover part and a second holder on the second cover part, a parallel to the rack bore or a rack parallel to the other adjustment thread in the first holder and a rack parallel to the further adjustment thread or a rack parallel bore in the second holder, one screwed into the bore of the first or second holder and in the further adjustment thread of the second or first holder further adjusting screw and another spring element between the first cover part and second cover part, which is effective against the screwing of the other adjusting screw
  • the further spring element is a helical spring which is guided on the further adjusting screw and is supported at one end on the first holder and at the other end on the second holder.
  • the cover parts By screwing the other adjustment against the action of the other spring element, the cover parts can be displaced relative to each other in one direction and by unscrewing the other adjusting screw and the action of the other spring element they are displaced in the other direction relative to each other.
  • the means for positioning enable adjusting the position of the second cover part with respect to the first cover part in an adjustment range corresponding to the distance between two valleys on different sides of a tooth of the toothing. This makes it possible to set the distance of the incidence edge of the coupling element exactly so that the pawl optimally falls into the toothing when passing the incidence edge.
  • the means for positioning enable adjusting the position of the second cover part with respect to the first cover part in an adjustment range that is +/- 0.25 mm.
  • This adjustment range is adjusted on a toothed rack at a distance from tooth to tooth or from valley to valley of 0.5 mm. This pitch of the rack has been found to be advantageous for adjusting dosing levels that are often required in the laboratory.
  • the adjustment range makes it possible to adjust the first and second cover parts always so that the pawl optimally falls into the teeth.
  • These means are, for example, means for clamping the first cover part on the second cover part.
  • These may for example be formed by a screw which is screwed into a threaded bore of the first cover part and engages in a slot of the second cover part, which is aligned parallel to the rack. When the screw is released, the relative position of the first and second cover part can be adjusted. By tightening the screw, the first and second cover parts are clamped together so that they maintain the set relative position.
  • Screws of the aforementioned type can also form the axial guidance of the two cover parts in the longitudinal direction of the rack.
