Definitions

  • the invention relates to a tool for mounting a locking ring, preferably for retaining rings with a diameter of greater than 400 mm, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Circlips are machine parts that are predominantly used to secure the position of bolts in holes, or components, such as bearings on a shaft or axle or in an inner bore. They belong to the standard parts, at least in the diameter range up to 400 mm.
  • the rings encountered in mechanical engineering are standardized according to DIN 471 for shaft grooves and DIN 472 for bore grooves, these embodiments are punched as a flat ring and ground and have two holes for disassembly and assembly by means of a special circlip pliers.
  • Circlip pliers or circlip pliers are known from the prior art for mounting circlips or snap rings on shafts or in bores.
  • the front ends (pins) of the circlip pliers, which are inserted into the holes of the circlip, are generally round in cross-section and can have grooves in the longitudinal direction.
  • U1 From the DE 295 19 915 U1 is a pliers for external retaining rings with a diameter greater than 300 mm known.
  • the pliers are equipped with a rack lock against the spring back tensioned rings.
  • the clamp ends are split apart in parallel.
  • the forceps tips extend in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the forceps and have a groove-shaped incision in the pressure direction to the mounting holes of the locking ring.
  • the leverage of the pliers is not enough to apply the necessary forces for spreading the rings. Due to the necessary length of the hand lever of the pliers can be used only conditionally for the installation of inner circlips.
  • the DE 201 02 624 U1 describes a forceps-like device for mounting and dismounting of retaining rings with a diameter greater than 400 mm.
  • the device has two scissor joint-like crossing arms whose drive ends are displaceable to change the distance of the pins by a spindle drive.
  • the end of the spindle has a polygonal profile, to which a wrench can be attached to rotate the spindle.
  • the tool is held with one hand on a handle on one of the arms and with the other hand, the wrench is operated.
  • handling is not straightforward.
  • the tool is already very heavy (over 3kg), which must be held with one hand, while the other hand presses the screw bowl at the end of the spindle. This causes additional complications, especially with heavy circlips.
  • the pins extend in the direction of the tool longitudinal axis, which in turn causes difficulties in the assembly of inner circlips.
  • the GB 1 190 946 A shows a collet for retaining rings, which is also designed in the manner of a compass.
  • a tool for mounting a retaining ring comprising two mutually movable jaws, one of which is attached to a handle. Between the jaws, which are connected by a hinge, a spindle drive for adjusting the jaws is arranged.
  • the tool should be suitable without structural changes both for the assembly of outer and inner retaining rings alike.
  • the tool comprises two adjusting legs, which are connected to each other by means of a rotary joint at their ends. At the free ends of the adjusting leg gripping means are provided for engagement in a mounting hole (eyelet or perforation) of the locking ring.
  • a spindle drive for the displacement of the adjusting leg is drivingly connected to the adjusting legs between the rotary joint and the free ends of the adjusting legs.
  • the advantages of the invention are to be seen in particular in that the tool is relatively small and lightweight and is easy to handle. Nevertheless, great forces can be on the Circlip can be transferred, so that even very large rings can be safely stretched and mounted on components.
  • At least one of the two adjusting legs has two partial legs, which are angled away from one another.
  • the adjusting legs or at least one of them can also be arcuately curved.
  • a particularly wide adjustment range can be achieved overall. This is particularly advantageous for clamping outer rings, in which the gripping means for clamping must be close to each other.
  • control legs can be made in one or more parts.
  • the spindle drive is arranged, for example, in each case on the part of the gripping means facing the gripping means.
  • the angle between the legs is in a preferred embodiment 90 °, but can also be made larger.
  • the spindle drive is preferably formed by an adjusting spindle which is rotatably and pivotally mounted in the adjusting legs, wherein a threaded bushing is provided in at least one of the adjusting legs, which is drive-connected with the adjusting spindle.
  • the spindle drive is preferably designed to be self-locking in order to prevent an unwanted change in position of the adjusting leg by the train or pressure of the tensioned locking ring. It is also possible to provide further securing mechanisms which prevent unintentional actuation of the spindle drive.
  • the spindle drive can also have in a known manner two opposing threaded portions which are mounted in a respective threaded bush in each one of the adjusting legs. Then, when turning the threaded spindle, both legs are moved relative to each other and fewer revolutions of the threaded spindle are required than with a threaded portion in order to achieve the same change in distance of the adjusting legs.
  • an angular gear is arranged on the threaded spindle, preferably between the adjusting legs, for rotating the threaded spindle.
  • the angular gear allows a favorable attitude of both operator hands when clamping the retaining ring.
  • the angle gear is preferably connected in a first gear stage with an adjusting screw, so that a change in position of the adjusting legs to each other is achieved by turning the screw. By choosing a favorable transmission ratio of the angular gear, a slight manual operation can be achieved.
  • the angle gear on a second gear stage which by means of an engagement point, an operation of the spindle drive by means of a motor-driven tool, such as a cordless screwdriver allowed.
  • the engagement point can be designed as a hexagon socket, internal round (Torx) or as a hexagon or the like.
  • the operator can then select the desired operating mode and gear stage.
  • a freewheel can be provided between the two gear stages to prevent unwanted actuation of the other gear stage.
  • the second gear stage can advantageously work with a relation to the first gear stage modified transmission ratio.
  • the gripping means are preferably designed in a known manner as pins, which are available in straight or particularly preferably in angled form and are preferably mounted interchangeably on the adjusting legs.
  • pins which are available in straight or particularly preferably in angled form and are preferably mounted interchangeably on the adjusting legs.
  • different types of pins can be provided for different circlip types.
  • the pins are rotated by 90 ° to the position of the adjusting legs, i. Angled to the main extension plane of the tool. It is particularly expedient if the angled pins extend in the direction of a pivot axis of the rotary joint about which the adjusting legs are pivoted. As a result, the pins always remain in a parallel position to each other in a simple manner, so that the clamping ring remains in its natural plane position during clamping and no stresses occur in other directions. As a result, the risk of jumping of the rings is prevented, which must be realized in the prior art by the relatively complex parallel guide.
  • the pins can in all embodiments all known features for securing the position of the retaining rings, such as groove-shaped incisions, eccentric top plates or the like.
  • FIG. 1 to 3 an inventive tool for mounting or dismounting a security ring, not shown, is shown.
  • the tool comprises two adjusting legs 01, 02, which are hinged together in a rotary joint 03.
  • the rotary joint 03 is provided at the first ends of the adjusting leg.
  • the adjusting legs 01, 02 carry at their second, free ends gripping means 04 for receiving the in mounting to exciting locking ring.
  • the gripping means 04 comprise in the illustrated embodiment in each case one in the image plane ( Fig. 1 and 2 ) into an angled pin 06 for receiving the retaining ring in its mounting holes.
  • the pins 06 thus extend at right angles to the main extension plane of the tool.
