The set of jaws 46 to 49 is raised (by 50 - 80 mm) and out of the working area of the four-jaw forging machine ( Fig. 4 ) extended. The manipulator 51 with the fork 50 displaces the entire jaw set and places it on the special stand 52, where the jaw set is changed by means of a crane ( Fig. 5 ).

Claims (1)

  1. An apparatus for changing jaws in four-jaw forging devices, having a frame which is embodied to be adjustable in height by means of levers of equal height that are connected in articulated fashion and two parallel supports that are connected in articulated fashion to the levers,
    characterized in that
    - it has two parallel frames (A and B) ;
    - that each of the frames (A and B) comprises two

    - shaped supports (1 and 2, 3 and 4), which are connected in pairs to one another in articulated fashion on each side by means of four articulated levers (5-20) and in articulated fashion in pairs (5 and 6, 7 and 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12, 13 and 14, 15 and 16, 17 and 18, 19 and 20);
    - that two pairs (21 and 22, 23 and 24) of adjusting levers (21-24) of equal size are secured in articulated fashion to the supports (1-4), the adjusting levers (21-24) in each of the pairs (21 and 22, 23 and 24) being likewise connected in articulated fashion;
    - that the pairs (21 and 22, 23 and 24) of adjusting levers (21-24) are connected to one another by means of a setting screw (27), which passes through the articulated connections of the adjusting levers (21-24), a handle (28) being located on one end of the setting screw (27);
    - that bolts (29-44) are located on the supports (1-4) and at the locations of the articulated connection of the articulated levers (5-20), specifically in such a way that they can be introduced into transportation holes in the jaws (46-49); and
    - that the lower supports (2, 4) of the frames (A and B) are connected to one another by means of a coupling (45).
