Definitions

  • the present invention relates to dust collectors, particularly to dust collectors for use in cyclone electric vacuum cleaners, and to electric vacuum cleaners using the collectors.
  • a dust collector installed in a conventional cyclone-type electric vacuum cleaner is such that air suctioned together with dust from a suction tool is swirled in a cyclone chamber located above a cylindrical dust-collecting part.
  • the dust mixed with the air is separated from the air by utilizing a centrifugal force, and then the separated dust is collected in a dust collection chamber located below the cylindrical dust-collecting part.
  • the air separated from the dust is suctioned by an electric blower toward the suction side thereof.
  • Patent Literature 1 Japanese Patent Unexamined Publication No. 2000-135184
  • the present invention is intended to provide a dust collector and an electric vacuum cleaner which are capable of remarkably improving a dust collection effect, in a cyclone-type dust collector.
  • the improvement is obtained by minimizing whirling and returning of collected dust toward a suction side and is by preventing entanglement of pet hairs of such as cats and dogs and human hairs, which are included in the dust, with a primary filter.
  • the dust collector includes a dust box body that is substantially cylindrical, and a primary filter that is substantially cylindrical and disposed in the dust box body, concentrically with respect to the dust box body. Moreover, the dust collector includes a cyclone space that is formed between the inner peripheral surface of the dust box body and the outer peripheral surface of the primary filter, and a dust accumulation space that is substantially cylindrical and disposed below the cyclone space. Furthermore, the dust collector includes an umbrella-like extension part that extends toward the dust accumulation space and is disposed in the lower part of the primary filter, and a wall part that is substantially cylindrical and is disposed inside the extension part.
  • the electric vacuum cleaner according to the present invention is equipped with the dust collector described above.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating a general configuration of electric vacuum cleaner 50 equipped with dust collector 7 according to the first embodiment of the invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating an appearance of the dust collector 7, as viewed from a diagonal front direction.
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating an appearance of dust collector 7, as viewed from a diagonal back direction.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating an internal construction of dust collector 7.
  • FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of dust collector 7.
  • FIG. 6 is a view illustrating a cross-sectional construction of dust collector 7.
  • FIG. 7 is a view illustrating a cross-sectional construction of a lower part of dust collector 7, as viewed from a lower surface.
  • Electric vacuum cleaner 50 includes vacuum cleaner body 1, hose 2 one end of which is coupled with suction port 1a disposed at the front of vacuum cleaner body 1, connection pipe 3 disposed at the other end of hose 2, extension pipe 4 coupled with connection pipe 3, and suction tool 5 having an opening to suction dust, with the suction tool being disposed at the front end of extension pipe 4.
  • Vacuum cleaner body 1 accommodates electric blower 6 to suction the dust and dust collector 7 to collect the dust.
  • the periphery of dust collector 7 is configured including dust box body 8 that is substantially cylindrical, cover 11 configured to close the upper surface of dust box body 8, handle 10 attached to cover 11, and lid 9 disposed to close the lower surface of dust box body 8.
  • lid 9 is rotatable by means of hinge 13 disposed to dust box body 8, and is locked to dust box body 8 with clasp 18. Moreover, lid 9 provides airtight (hermetic) closing of dust box body 8, through the use of gasket D 29 attached to lid 9.
  • lid 9 is configured to be openable/closeable when it is unlocked by rotating clasp 18.
  • slider 47 descends to open clasp 18, which releases lid 9 (see FIGS. 3 and 6 ).
  • Cover 11 is engaged with dust box body 8 by means of buckle 15 and claw part 14 (see FIG. 2 ).
  • substantially-cylindrical primary filter 21 is disposed to primary-filter attaching frame 57, concentrically with respect to dust box body 8.
  • umbrella-like extension part 22 that extends toward dust accumulation space 52 is attached to primary-filter attaching frame 57 by means of fitting with claws or of welding.
  • Extension part 22 includes inclined surface 58 and flange 59 that extends downward in a perpendicular direction from inclined surface 58.
  • secondary filter 23 formed in a pleat-like form is disposed above primary filter 21, secondary filter 23 formed in a pleat-like form is disposed above secondary filter 23, dust removing part 24 is disposed which removes the dust accumulated in secondary filter 23 by means of vibration or the like, and motor 25 is disposed which serves as a means for providing the vibration for dust removing part 24 (see FIGS. 4 and 6 ).
  • Primary filter 21 is configured with a metal material, the surface of which has no projections and depressions formed of resin or the like. With this configuration, a swirling flow flows smoothly around primary filter 21, which allows a reduction in entanglement of the dust or the like with primary filter 21 as well as an improvement in separation efficiency of the dust. Note that polishing treatment of the surface of primary filter 21 allows a further improvement in the above effects. Moreover antibacterial treatment of primary filter 21 allows it to be kept clean.
  • suction port B 17 the side, in which suction port B 17 is disposed, is referred to as the rear side of dust collector 7.
  • the air suctioned from suction port B 17 flows into cyclone space 31 that is formed between the outer peripheral surface of primary filter 21 and the inner peripheral surface of outside wall 54 of dust box body 8. Then the air is centrifugally separated by the swirling flow occurring in the cyclone space, into dust that mainly contains cotton-like dust and air that contains fine dust (see FIG. 5 ).
  • the dust mainly containing cotton-like dust passes through dust collection passage 32 that is formed between the outer peripheral surface of inclined surface 58 of extension part 22 and the inner peripheral surface of inclined part 53 of dust box body 8. Then, the dust is accumulated in substantially-cylindrical dust accumulation space 52 disposed below extension part 22.
  • width L1 of cyclone space 31 is wider than width L2 of dust collection passage 32.
  • inside diameter R4 of dust accumulation space 52 i.e. the inside diameter of lower-part outside wall 71 of dust box body 8
  • inside diameter R3 of the cyclone space i.e. the inside diameter of outside wall 54, at a middle part of dust box body 8 constricted with a smaller diameter.
  • dust box body 8 has inclined part 53 that expands following the shape of extension part 22.
  • the upper end of extension part 22 is located at a higher position than the upper end of inclined part 53, while the lower end of extension part 22 is located at a lower position than the lower end of inclined part 53.
  • a pressing force occurs which can prevent the dust accumulated in dust accumulation space 52 from whirling up to cyclone space 31.
  • the lower end of extension part 22 is located at the lower position than the lower end of inclined part 53; however, the advantages described above can be achieved even in the case where the lower end of extension part 22 is located at a position in the middle of inclined part 53. This is because the case as well causes the path to be narrower.
  • the configuration when viewed from the lid 9 side (the lower side), the configuration is such that the upper ceiling is covered with extension part 22 and inclined part 53 of dust box body 8 (that is, cyclone space 31 is difficult to view from dust accumulation space 52). Therefore, the dust mainly containing the cotton-like dust accumulated in dust accumulation space 52 is less prone to whirl and return to cyclone space 31, resulting in an improvement in the dust collection effect.
  • dust collector 7 it is configured that the outer peripheral surface of inclined surface 58 of extension part 22 is in substantially parallel with the inner peripheral surface of inclined part 53 of dust box body 8. With this configuration, it is possible to reduce turbulence of the swirling flow and to prevent the dust from clogging in dust collection passage 32 as well as from whirling and returning from dust accumulation space 52 to cyclone space 31. Note that it is possible to adjust width L2 of dust collection passage 32 by changing the position of extension part 22, in the up-and-down direction, with the substantial parallelism of the extension part remaining unchanged.
  • width L2 of dust collection passage 32 it is also possible to make width L2 of dust collection passage 32 gradually wider or narrower toward a lower place. If the configuration is made such that width L2 of dust collection passage 32 becomes wider toward dust accumulation space 52, the inclination of inclined part 53 of FIG. 5 can be made gentle. This allows a smaller height dimension of dust collector 7, resulting in a compact configuration. In contrast, if the configuration is made such that width L2 of dust collection passage 32 becomes gradually narrower toward dust accumulation space 52, the pressing force becomes larger which presses the dust in the direction toward accumulation space 52. This allows more suppression of the whirling and returning of the dust, from accumulation space 52 to cyclone space 31.
  • outside diameter R3 (the inside diameter of outside wall 54) of cyclone space 31 is larger than maximum outside diameter R2 (the outside diameter of flange 59) of extension part 22.
  • each of dust box body 8 and extension part 22 is configured with a transparent material.
  • extension part 22 is equipped with flange 59 that extends downward in the perpendicular direction from the lower end of inclined surface 58.
  • substantially-cylindrical wall part 60 is disposed in the inside of extension part 22 that is disposed in the lower part of primary filter 21.
  • the presence of wall part 60 allows the additional formation of inner dust accumulation space 52a that is located inside wall part 60 and outside inner cylinder 33.
  • the dust suctioned into dust accumulation space 52 is first held and accumulated in inner dust accumulation space 52a, i.e. the inner space.
  • inner dust accumulation space 52a i.e. the inner space.
  • outer dust accumulation space 52b that is located in the outside of wall part 60 and in the inside of extension part 22.
  • notch parts 61 are disposed in a part of cylindrical wall part 60.
  • FIG. 8 is a perspective view illustrating a configuration of notch parts 61 disposed in wall part 60 of dust collector 7 according to the first embodiment of the invention.
  • four of notch parts 61 are disposed at equal spacings.
  • the number of notch parts 61 is not limited to four.
  • notch part 61 helps the dust to easily enter inner dust accumulation space 52a inside wall part 60, via the portion of notch part 61.
  • pressure of the air of inner dust accumulation space 52a inside wall part 60 can be released.
  • the pressure of inner dust accumulation space 52a can be reduced to help the dust to be easily held and accumulated in inner dust accumulation space 52a. Therefore, it is possible to further prevent the dust accumulated in inner dust accumulation space 52a from whirling and returning to outer dust accumulation space 52b, and further to the region of cyclone space 31.
  • the dust collector can be used without impairment of the appearance thereof, with the dust collector being accommodated in vacuum cleaner body 1.
  • the pressure of the air of inner dust accumulation space 52a can be dispersed and released via the plurality of notch parts 61.
  • the hairs or the like contained in the dust about to return to cyclone space 31 can be snagged on the plurality of notch parts 61, which further enhances the effect of preventing the hairs or the like from being pulled any further. Therefore, it is possible to further enhance the effect of preventing the hairs or the like from whirling and returning to the region of cyclone space 31 and from being entangled with primary filter 21.
  • each of the plurality of notch parts 61 is located higher than the lower end portion of extension part 22. That is, the upper end portion of each of notch parts 61 does not protrude from the lower end portion of extension part 22.
  • Notch parts 61 play a role of a flow passage that can conduct the dust and air in the inside of inner dust accumulation space 52a into outer dust accumulation space 52b located in the outer side. Therefore, if the upper end portion of each of notch parts 61 protrudes from the lower end portion of extension part 22, it is difficult to effectively conduct the dust in inner dust accumulation space 52a. In some cases, there is a possibility that the dust in inner dust accumulation space 52a leaks to the outside of extension part 22, and then whirls and returns to cyclone space 31.
  • notch part 61 disposed at a position in the rear side of dust collector 7 is one that has the largest opening with the largest depth.
  • notch part 61a with the largest depth serves as a flow passage that can conduct the air and dust in inner dust accumulation space 52a into outer dust accumulation space 52b and further into cyclone space 31.
  • notch part 61a with the largest opening is disposed at a position in the rear side of dust collector 7. Therefore, the dust collector can be used without impairment of the appearance thereof, with the dust collector being accommodated in vacuum cleaner body 1. Moreover, since notch part 61a with the largest opening is disposed in the rear side of dust collector 7, it is possible to easily accumulate the dust starting from the rear side if dust collector 7 is inclined and disposed with the rear side thereof down.
  • the lower end of wall part 60 that is formed in the inside of umbrella-like extension part 22, is formed at a lower position than the lower end of umbrella-like extension part 22. That is, the lower end of wall part 60 protrudes from the lower end of extension part 22.
  • This configuration allows a smooth flow of the air and dust from inner dust accumulation space 52a to outer dust accumulation space 52b.
  • the dust is first held and accumulated in inner dust accumulation space 52a located inside. Then, after inner dust accumulation space 52a has been fully filled, the dust is held and accumulated in outer dust accumulation space 52b located outside.
  • the lower end portion of substantially-cylindrical wall part 60 is made lower than the lower end portion of umbrella-like extension part 22, it is possible to prevent the dust accumulated in inner dust accumulation space 52a from passing over outer dust accumulation space 52b to enter cyclone space 31 directly. Then, the dust coming from inner dust accumulation space 52a is reliably held and accumulated in outer dust accumulation space 52b, which allows further prevention of the dust from whirling and returning to cyclone space 31.
  • the air containing the fine dust which is separated in cyclone space 31, passes through primary filter 21.
  • the fine dust is then filtered out with secondary filter 23.
  • only the air without the fine dust passes through secondary filter 23, and then passes through suction port A 16 (see FIG. 3 ) to be suctioned by electric blower 6.
  • the fine dust accumulated in secondary filter 23 is subjected to vibration during halts of the operation of electric blower 6, with the vibration being provided by motor 25 of dust removing part 24 that is disposed above secondary filter 23 (see FIGS. 5 and 6 ). This causes the fine dust to be removed from secondary filter 23. Then, the thus-removed fine dust passes through a space inside primary-filter attaching frame 57, and is accumulated in the inside of inner cylinder 33 that is disposed below primary filter 21 and inside extension part 22.
  • inner cylinder 33 serves as a rotation center for rotating the air and dust in dust accumulation space 52.
  • the presence of inner cylinder 33 allows their smooth rotation.
  • the upper part of inner cylinder 33 has an inclined shape for easier introduction of the removed fine dust into a bottom part of inner cylinder 33.
  • non-return part 55 is disposed that can prevent the fine dust accumulated at the bottom part of inner cylinder 33 from returning again to the secondary filter 23 side and from adhering again to the filter, even if dust collector 7 is placed upside down.
  • Inner cylinder 33 communicates with primary filter 21.
  • gasket E 30 disposed in the rear surface of lid 9, which isolates the inside of inner cylinder 33 from dust accumulation space 52.
  • the diameter of primary-filter attaching frame 57 is larger than outside diameter R1 of the primary filter and is larger than inside diameter R3 of outside wall 54 of dust box body 8 that forms cyclone space 31.
  • Primary-filter attaching frame 57 is inserted from above dust box body 8, and held to holding rib 56 by pressure-welding using gasket B 27.
  • Secondary filter 23 is disposed above primary filter 21.
  • the outer periphery of secondary filter 23 is equipped with gasket A 26 and gasket B 27 which play roles of vibration isolation and airtight sealing for primary-filter attaching frame 57, respectively.
  • the outside diameter of secondary filter 23 is larger than outside diameter R1 of primary filter 21, which provides the configuration in which air flow resistance is minimized. Therefore, the outside diameter of the upper part of dust box body 8 is larger than inside diameter R3 of outside wall 54 of cyclone space 31. That is, dust box body 8 has a constricted shape, as a whole.
  • dust removing part 24 is configured such that shaft 43 couples dust removing plate 44 with rail 41 by using a coupling means such as a screw.
  • Motor 25 is such that crankshaft 37 attached to the rotary shaft of motor 40 is coupled with linear vibrator 39 via connecting rod 38.
  • These members are enclosed with motor cover 35 and motor case 36, and are attached to case body 46 by using a coupling means such as a screw.
  • Motor 40 is coupled with electric board 49 that is attached to case body 46.
  • Capacitor 48 disposed on electric board 49 is charged via terminals 19 (see FIG. 3 ) by a charging means (not shown) disposed in the vacuum cleaner body 1 side.
  • the current stored in capacitor 48 is discharged to rotate motor 40, which causes linear vibrator 39 to vibrate.
  • Linear vibrator 39 is coupled with rail 41 and transmits the vibration (the vibration in the right-to-left direction, indicated by the arrow in FIG. 5 ) to dust removing plate 44, which provides the vibration for secondary filter 23. With this configuration, the fine dust accumulated in secondary filter 23 can be removed therefrom.
  • Case body 46 is coupled, together with inner wall 45, with cover 11 by using a coupling means such as a screw.
  • the case body is held by means of sandwiching rail 41 between case body 46 and rail holding part 42 disposed in inner wall 45.
  • dust box body 8 and extension part 22 have a substantially cylindrical shape.
  • the substantially shape includes one in which a part of the shape is not formed to be cylindrical for reasons in relation to other parts, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 , and the one can bring about the same action and effects as those with cylindrical one.
  • FIG. 9 is a rear-elevation view illustrating another example of extension part 22 of dust collector 7 according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
  • slit 81 may be disposed in a portion of flange 59 of extension part 22.
  • the presence of slit 81 allows that the pressure of the air in dust accumulation space 52 inside extension part 22 is released via slit 81.
  • slits 81 are formed in flange 59 that extends perpendicularly from the lower end of extension part 22, the airflow is released toward the outer periphery of umbrella-like extension part 22, which secures a smooth flow without interfering with the flow of the whirling airflow in cyclone space 31.

  • the periphery of dust collector 107 is configured including dust box body 108 that is substantially cylindrical, cover 111 configured to close the upper surface of dust box body 108, handle 110 attached to cover 111, and lid 109 disposed to close the lower surface of dust box body 108.
  • lid 109 is rotatable by means of hinge 113 disposed at dust box body 108, and is locked to dust box body 108 with clasp 118. Moreover, lid 109 provides airtight (hermetic) closing of dust box body 108, through the use of gasket D 129 attached to lid 109.
  • lid 109 is configured to be openable/closeable when it is unlocked by rotating clasp 118.
  • slider 147 descends to open clasp 118, which releases lid 109 (see FIGS. 12 and 15 ).
  • Cover 111 is engaged with dust box body 108 by means of buckle 115 and claw part 114 (see FIG. 11 ).
  • substantially-cylindrical primary filter 121 is disposed to primary-filter attaching frame 157, concentrically with respect to dust box body 108.
  • umbrella-like extension part 122 that extends toward dust accumulation space 152 is attached to primary-filter attaching frame 157 by means of fitting with claws or of welding.
  • Extension part 122 includes inclined surface 158 and flange 159 that extends downward in a perpendicular direction from inclined surface 158.
  • secondary filter 123 formed in a pleat-like form is disposed above primary filter 121.
  • dust removing part 124 is disposed which removes the dust accumulated in secondary filter 123 by means of vibration or the like, and motor 125 is disposed which serves as a means for providing the vibration for dust removing part 124 (see FIGS. 13 and 15 ).
  • Primary filter 121 is configured with a metal material, the surface of which has no projections and depressions formed of resin or the like. With this configuration, a swirling flow flows smoothly around primary filter 121, which allows a reduction in entanglement of the dust or the like with primary filter 121 as well as an improvement in separation efficiency of the dust. Note that polishing treatment of the surface of primary filter 121 allows a further improvement in the above effects. Moreover antibacterial treatment of primary filter 121 allows it to be kept clean.
  • suction port B 117 is disposed in dust box body 108, via suction port 101a disposed in the front of vacuum cleaner body 101 (see FIG. 12 ).
  • the side in which suction port B 117 is disposed is referred to as the rear side of dust collector 107.
  • the air suctioned from suction port B 117 flows into cyclone space 131 that is formed between the outer peripheral surface of primary filter 121 and the inner peripheral surface of outside wall 154 of dust box body 108. Then the air is centrifugally separated by the swirling flow, which occurs in the cyclone space, into dust that mainly contains cotton-like dust and air that contains fine dust (see FIG. 14 ).
  • the dust mainly containing cotton-like dust passes through dust collection passage 132 that is formed between the outer peripheral surface of inclined surface 158 of extension part 122 and the inner peripheral surface of dust box body 108. Then the dust is accumulated in substantially-cylindrical dust accumulation space 152 disposed below extension part 122.
  • width L1 of cyclone space 131 is wider than width L2 of dust collection passage 132.
  • inside diameter R4 of dust accumulation space 152 i.e. the inside diameter of lower-part outside wall 171 of dust box body 108 is larger than inside diameter R3 of cyclone space 131 (i.e. the inside diameter of outside wall 154, at a middle part of dust box body 108 constricted with a smaller diameter).
  • dust box body 108 has inclined part 153 that expands following the shape of extension part 122.
  • the upper end of extension part 122 is located at a higher position than the upper end of inclined part 153, while the lower end of extension part 122 is located at a lower position than the lower end of inclined part 153.
  • a pressing force occurs which can prevent the dust accumulated in dust accumulation space 152 from whirling up to cyclone space 131.
  • the lower end of extension part 122 is located at the lower position than the lower end of inclined part 153; however, the advantages described above can be achieved even in the case where the lower end of extension part 122 is located at a position in the middle of inclined part 153. This is because the case as well causes the path to be narrower.
  • the configuration when viewed from the lid 109 side (the lower side), the configuration is such that the upper ceiling is covered with extension part 122 and inclined part 153 of dust box body 108 (that is, cyclone space 131 is difficult to view from dust accumulation space 152). Therefore, the dust mainly containing the cotton-like dust accumulated in dust accumulation space 152 is less prone to whirl and return to cyclone space 131, resulting in an improvement in the dust collection effect.
  • the outer peripheral surface of inclined surface 158 of extension part 122 is in substantially parallel with the inner peripheral surface of inclined part 153 of dust box body 108.
  • width L2 of dust collection passage 132 it is possible to adjust width L2 of dust collection passage 132 by changing the position of extension part 122, in the up-and-down direction, with the substantial parallelism of the extension part remaining unchanged.
  • width L2 of dust collection passage 132 it is also possible to make width L2 of dust collection passage 132 gradually wider or narrower toward a lower place. If the configuration is made such that width L2 of dust collection passage 132 becomes wider toward dust accumulation space 152, the inclination of inclined part 153 of FIG. 14 can be made gentle. This allows a smaller height dimension of dust collector 107, resulting in a compact configuration. In contrast, if the configuration is made such that width L2 of dust collection passage 132 becomes gradually narrower toward dust accumulation space 152, the pressing force becomes larger which presses the dust in the direction toward accumulation space 152. This allows more suppression of the whirling and returning of the dust, from accumulation space 152 to cyclone space 131.
  • outside diameter R3 (the inside diameter of outside wall 154) of cyclone space 131 is larger than maximum outside diameter R2 (the outside diameter of flange 159) of extension part 122.
  • each of dust box body 108 and extension part 122 is configured with a transparent material.
  • extension part 122 is equipped with flange 159 that extends downward in the perpendicular direction from the lower end of inclined surface 158.
  • slit 90 is formed in a part of the lower end of extension part 122 disposed below primary filter 121.
  • the presence of slit 90 allows that the pressure of the air in dust accumulation space 152 inside extension part 122 is released via slit 90.
  • the pressure of the air of dust accumulation space 152 inside extension part 122 can be dispersed and released via the plurality of slits 90.
  • the hairs or the like contained in the dust about to return to cyclone space 131 can be snagged on the plurality of slits 90, which further enhances the effect of preventing the hairs or the like from being pulled upward any further. Therefore, it is possible to further enhance the effect of preventing the hairs or the like from whirling and returning to cyclone space 131 and from being entangled with primary filter 121.
  • slits 90 are formed in flange 159 that extends perpendicularly from the lower end of extension part 122, the airflow is released toward the outer periphery of umbrella-like extension part 122, which secures a smooth flow without interfering with the flow of the whirling airflow in cyclone space 131.
  • slit 90 in the lower end of extension part 122 such that the slit is formed to be inclined in the direction along a tangent vector direction of the whirling airflow in cyclone space 131.
  • the airflow is easy to release toward the tangent vector direction of the whirling airflow, which can secure the smooth flow without interfering with the flow of the whirling airflow into cyclone space 131.
  • the dust collector can be used without impairment of the appearance thereof, with the dust collector being accommodated in vacuum cleaner body 101.
  • the air containing the fine dust which is separated in cyclone space 131, passes through primary filter 121.
  • the fine dust is then filtered out with secondary filter 123.
  • only the air without the fine dust passes through secondary filter 123, and then passes through suction port A 116 (see FIG. 12 ) to be suctioned by electric blower 106.
  • the fine dust accumulated in secondary filter 123 is subjected to vibration during halts of the operation of electric blower 106, with the vibration being provided by motor 125 of dust removing part 124 that is disposed above secondary filter 123 (see FIGS. 14 and 15 ). This causes the fine dust to be removed from secondary filter 123. Then, the thus-removed fine dust passes through a space inside primary-filter attaching frame 157, and is accumulated in the inside of inner cylinder 133 that is disposed below primary filter 121 and inside extension part 122.
  • inner cylinder 133 serves as a rotation center for rotating the air and dust in dust accumulation space 152.
  • the presence of inner cylinder 133 allows their smooth rotation.
  • the upper part of inner cylinder 133 has an inclined shape for easier introduction of the removed fine dust into a bottom part of inner cylinder 133.
  • non-return part 155 is disposed that can prevent the fine dust accumulated at the bottom part of inner cylinder 133 from returning again to the secondary filter 123 side and from adhering again to the filter, even if dust collector 107 is placed upside down.
  • Inner cylinder 133 communicates with primary filter 121.
  • gasket E 130 disposed in the rear surface of lid 109, which isolates the inside of inner cylinder 133 from dust accumulation space 152.
  • the diameter of primary-filter attaching frame 157 is larger than outside diameter R1 of the primary filter and is larger than inside diameter R3 of outside wall 154 of dust box body 108 that forms cyclone space 131.
  • Primary-filter attaching frame 157 is inserted from above dust box body 108, and held to holding rib 156 by pressure-welding using gasket B 127.
  • Secondary filter 123 is disposed above primary filter 121.
  • the outer periphery of secondary filter 123 is equipped with gasket A 126 and gasket B 127 which play roles of vibration isolation and airtight sealing for primary-filter attaching frame 157, respectively.
  • the outside diameter of secondary filter 123 is larger than outside diameter R1 of primary filter 121, which provides the configuration in which air flow resistance is minimized. Therefore, the outside diameter of the upper part of dust box body 108 is larger than inside diameter R3 of outside wall 154 of cyclone space 131. That is, dust box body 108 has a constricted shape, as a whole.
  • dust removing part 124 is configured such that shaft 143 couples dust removing plate 144 with rail 141 by using a coupling means such as a screw.
  • Motor 125 is such that crankshaft 137 attached to the rotary shaft of motor 140 is coupled with linear vibrator 39 via connecting rod 138.
  • These members are enclosed with motor cover 135 and motor case 136, and attached to case body 146 by using a coupling means such as a screw.
  • Motor 140 is coupled with electric board 149 that is attached to case body 146.
  • Capacitor 148 disposed on electric board 149 is charged via terminals 119 by a charging means (not shown) disposed in the vacuum cleaner body 101 side.
  • the current stored in capacitor 148 is discharged to rotate motor 140, which causes linear vibrator 139 to vibrate.
  • Linear vibrator 139 is coupled with rail 141 and transmits the vibration (the vibration in the right-to-left direction, indicated by the arrow in FIG. 14 ) to dust removing plate 144, which provides the vibration for secondary filter 123. With this configuration, the fine dust accumulated in secondary filter 123 can be removed therefrom.
  • Case body 146 is coupled, together with inner wall 145, with cover 111 by using a coupling means such as a screw.
  • the case body is held by means of sandwiching rail 141 between case body 146 and rail holding part 142 disposed in inner wall 145.
  • dust box body 108 and extension part 122 have a substantially cylindrical shape.
  • the shape includes one in which a part of the shape is not formed to be cylindrical for reasons in relation to other parts, as shown in FIGS. 15 and 16 , and the one can bring about the same action and effects as those with the cylindrical one.
  • the configuration in which electric vacuum cleaner 150 is equipped with dust collector 107 according to the embodiment can provide the electric vacuum cleaner with ease of use.
  • the dust collector according to the present invention is capable of preventing dust, pet hairs, human hairs, etc. accumulated in the dust accumulation space from whirling and returning to the cyclone space. Accordingly, the dust collector is useful for home-use and industrial dust collectors, and for electric vacuum cleaners equipped with the collector.
