Definitions
- the invention relates to a burner for particulate fuel, in particular from biomass, with a primary tube and a core tube arranged in the primary tube, wherein the primary tube and the core tube form a primary tube gap and wherein the primary tube gap for guiding a flow of particulate fuel and gaseous combustion agent from an inlet end is formed to an exit-side opening of the primary tube.
- Burners for the combustion of particulate fuels, in particular coal, in a combustion chamber have been known for some time. This is also referred to as dust firing.
- Such a burner is for example in the EP 0 571 704 A2 described.
- the burner has a core tube, which flows through air and has a burner lance for igniting the particulate fuel.
- a primary tube Concentric with the core tube, a primary tube is arranged, which forms with the core tube an annular gap which is connected at its rear end with a dust line.
- a mixture of carbon particles and primary combustion agent (primary air) is fed to the burner.
- the mixture of carbon particles and combustion agent is set in rotation via a swirl body arranged in the annular gap, so that the carbon particles concentrate in the outer region of the annular gap.
- a secondary tube and a tertiary tube Concentric with the primary tube, a secondary tube and a tertiary tube are additionally provided, which define a secondary and a tertiary annular gap with the respective inner tube, through which secondary and tertiary combustion means (secondary air and tertiary air) flow.
- Swirl bodies are also provided in the secondary and tertiary annular gaps in order to impart a twist to the combustion agent.
- conical extensions are provided in the wall of the furnace.
- a so-called flame holder is provided, which has a radially inwardly directed edge, which leads to a stall and turbulence of the carbon particles. This results in a flow directed into the combustion chamber with high turbulence and coal particle concentration. This flow is “edged” by the flows emerging from the core tube, the secondary annular gap and the tertiary annular gap. Due to the high turbulence of the particle-rich flow, the volatile components are expelled very quickly from the coal particles. Due to the high particle concentration, the air ratio is strongly substoichiometric, resulting in less nitrogen oxides (NOx) being formed.
- NOx nitrogen oxides
- the burners of the type mentioned can in principle also be used for the combustion of particulate fuels other than coal, for example biomass.
- the biomass must be very finely ground, which is more common because of the usually fibrous and tough structure Biomasses associated with increased equipment and energy costs.
- the fine milling of biomass often entails a high degree of wear of the apparatuses used for this purpose. Therefore, biomass is usually not ground as finely as coal.
- the particle size is typically 90% smaller than 90 ⁇ m and for lignite 90% smaller than 200 ⁇ m.
- a mean particle size of about 1 mm is desired.
- the volatile components of the biomass particles are expelled even slower due to their size, which can affect a stable combustion of the biomass.
- a correspondingly larger amount of air, the so-called carrying air must be used in order to transport the larger biomass particles free of deposits from the comminution through the burner into the combustion chamber.
- the larger, the annular gap between the primary tube and core tube flowing through the carrying air amount, together with a delayed release of volatile components can lead to a local excess air during combustion. As a result, more nitrogen oxides are formed.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to prevent or at least reduce the disadvantages associated with the use of coarse-grained particles, preferably biomass, as fuel for the dust firing, without having to accept increased expenditure on equipment and / or additional energy losses ,
- the invention has recognized that the disadvantage of increased carrying air volume and larger particle diameter in the Incineration of coarse-grained fuels, such as biomass, can be compensated in any case partially by a fluidic deflection of a portion of the primary air in the direction of the core zone of the burner port.
- the deflection makes it possible to guide a part of the primary air around the flame holder or to pass it centrally through it, without this part of the primary air getting into the turbulent particle flow zone adjoining the flame holder. This occurs only at a later time, when the turbulent particle flow zone has expanded and the volatile components of the fuel particles have exited to a greater extent.
- the particle concentration is consequently high in the particle flow downstream of the flame retainer. Consequently, the flame of the burner can be stabilized despite a delayed escape of volatile components.
- the oxygen concentration in the downstream of the flame retardant particle flow is clearly substoichiometric, which counteracts the formation of nitrogen oxides.
- the deflection of a portion of the primary air in a central region of the burner is made possible by the swirl of the primary air in the primary annular gap, which concentrates the fuel particles in the outer region of the primary annular gap and feeds it to the flame holder.
- the concentration of the fuel particles in the outer region of the primary annular gap is associated with a depletion of particles in the interior Range of primary air flow.
- the fuel particles are transported through an air flow through the primary pipe gap, even if this is cost-effective. It could be used instead of air, another known per se combustion agent. It would even be conceivable to use an oxygen-free gas if the oxygen needed for the combustion is otherwise provided. For the sake of simplicity, however, the term primary air is used below.
- the core tube can be traversed by an oxygen-containing gas or an oxygen-free gas, which may be useful in particular for cooling the core tube.
- an oxygen-containing gas or an oxygen-free gas which may be useful in particular for cooling the core tube.
- a burner lance for providing a support or pilot flame.
- core tubes can be provided which are constructed in a manner known per se. As a result of the deflection of a portion of the primary air flow may be necessary to dispense with a flow through the core tube. This can also be the redirecting of the primary air in the favor the central area of the burner behind the core tube.
- the core tube and the primary tube preferably have circular cross sections and are arranged concentrically to one another, since this is favored in terms of flow. Then, the core tube and the primary tube form a primary tube gap in the form of a symmetrical annular gap. In principle, it would be possible to deviate from both circular cross sections of core tube and primary tube and / or a concentric arrangement of these tubes, even if this is generally less preferred. However, in the present case, for the sake of simplicity, only the terms core tube and primary tube are used instead of the core channel and the primary channel, without this necessarily being restrictive.
- the core tube ends in the longitudinal direction of the burner seen in front of the primary tube.
- the inner part of the primary air can thus reach in good time before the flame holder in a central region of the burner and there uninfluenced by the flame holder in a laminar flow as possible bypass this.
- a sufficient distance must be provided between the exit-side end of the core tube and the exit-side end of the primary tube or the flame holder, if present , In the longitudinal direction of the primary tube, this distance should be at least 50% of the average radial width of the primary tube gap. It is cheaper However, fluidic view, if this distance is at least 75%, in particular at least 100%.
- the core near the flow in the primary gap can tear off there and expand the turbulent area after the flame retainer. Thus, no partial flow of the primary air flow around the flame holder and the subsequent turbulent region of particle-rich flow are routed around.
- the core tube may be tapered towards its exit end.
- the tapering of the tailpipe has the advantage over an abrupt end of the core tube that the flow can be guided more uniformly. Stalls and turbulences can be avoided in the region of the inner part of the primary air flow. It is particularly preferred if a tapering of the core tube is accompanied by a longitudinal spacing of the flame holder or opening of the primary tube on the one hand and the exit-side end of the core tube on the other hand.
- the core tube may be continuously tapered towards its exit end.
- the rejuvenation can be even or uneven. It is favorable in terms of flow technology if the taper to the exit-side end decreases in order to avoid stalls before the end of the core tube.
- a deflection device for deflecting the core tube near in the primary tube gap out flow.
- the deflection device preferably projects into the primary tube gap, in particular into the primary air flow.
- the deflection device can be designed to divert from about 30% by volume to 70% by volume of the air flow in the primary tube gap. It makes sense if the deflection device extends approximately, preferably radially, to over 30% to 70% of the width of the primary tube gap in this. Particularly good results are achieved if the deflection device is designed to divert from about 40% by volume to 60% by volume of the air flow in the primary tube gap and / or extends into the latter over more than 40% to 60% of the gap width of the primary tube gap.
- a flow channel is preferably provided, through which the deflected primary air flow is passed. It is particularly preferred from a fluid engineering point of view if the free flow cross section in the flow channel of the deflection device remains constant. An energetically unfavorable variation of the flow velocity can thus be avoided.
- At least one flow straightener may be provided in the primary tube gap for influencing the twist of a core tube-near part of the flow guided in the primary tube gap.
- influencing the twist of at least the core tube near flow for example, a widening of the primary air flow after leaving the primary pipe gap can be counteracted, which favors the centering of the core tube near partial flow of the primary air.
- the at least one flow straightener can be aligned in the longitudinal direction of the primary tube.
- the swirl of at least one core tube near part of the primary air flow is thereby at least mitigated, which can have a favorable effect on the flow conditions.
- the at least one flow straightener In order to direct the flow but not disturbing it permanently, should be much wider in the longitudinal direction than in the circumferential direction of the primary tube gap.
- the at least one flow straightener may alternatively be transverse to the longitudinal direction, i. partially aligned in the circumferential direction of the primary tube.
- the orientation of the at least one flow straightener can deviate from an orientation in the longitudinal direction of the primary tube in such a way that the swirl of the primary air flow through the at least one flow straightener is intensified, at least for a part of the primary air flow close to the core tube.
- the at least one flow straightener can also reduce the swirl of the primary air flow.
- the at least one flow straightener can also be oriented counter to the swirl direction of the primary air flow.
- this can lead to the swirl direction of the primary air flow being reversed, at least for a part of the primary air flow that is close to the core tube.
- it may be appropriate to tilt the at least one flow straightener by 35 ° to 45 ° relative to the longitudinal direction of the primary tube.
- it may be favorable to incline the at least one flow straightener by less than 25 °, in particular less than 15 °, with respect to the longitudinal direction of the primary tube.
- each of these orientations of the at least one flow straightener can bring about positive effects. Basically, a fluidic separation of these parts can be achieved by a different strong or differently directed swirl of parts of the primary air flow, since these fluidically different properties exhibit.
- the at least one flow straightener can be designed to be variable in terms of its orientation, ie inclination relative to the core tube.
- the at least one flow straightener has a varying inclination in the longitudinal direction of the primary tube, in order to achieve a gradual change in the twisting direction of the core tube near part of the primary air flow.
- a plurality of flow straighteners or groups of flow straighteners distributed over the circumference of the core tube can also be provided one after the other.
- the inclination changes relative to the longitudinal direction of the primary tube from flow strainer to flow straightener or from one group of flow straighteners to the next group of flow straighteners in the longitudinal direction of the primary tube.
- the swirl of the outer flow in the primary tube gap remains unaffected by the at least one flow straightener in order not to impair the flame stability.
- the flow straightener will not be provided in the last outer 20% of the primary pipe gap. If the outer 30% or even 40% of the primary pipe gap can be kept free of flow straighteners, this is favorable in terms of flow.
- the enlargement of the outer, flow-straightener-free region can be realized, for example, by increasing the number of circumferentially arranged flow straighteners.
- the at least one flow straightener in the flow direction of the primary air flow of a swirl device for impressing a twist downstream of the primary air flow may be provided in particular in the primary pipe gap, even if the flow can in principle already be set in rotation by the supply to the primary pipe gap.
- the impingement of the swirl on the primary air flow can be effected by spin bodies, for example in the form of guide vanes or baffles. These may preferably be inclined by 20 ° to 30 °, in particular approximately 25 °, with respect to the longitudinal direction of the primary tube.
- the at least one flow straightener is preferably provided in the flow direction in front of a deflection device, so that the primary air flow of the deflection device can be supplied in a suitable manner.
- the flow straightener may, if necessary, be provided immediately before the deflection device. It can even be provided that the flow straightener and the deflection device are connected to one another in order to preclude any possible impairment of the flow in the intermediate space.
- wear-resistant materials such as hard welding or ceramic, for the flow straightener can be used.
- a flame holder projecting inwards into the flow of the primary tube is provided to stabilize the flame.
- the preferably radially inwardly facing edge of the flame holder may be continuous or interrupted. It is also a toothed edge conceivable that can produce a high turbulence.

- the core tube 2 is arranged concentrically to a primary tube 3, so that a circumferential concentric primary tube gap 4 is provided between the core tube 2 and the primary tube 3.
- This is supplied via devices, not shown, a mixture of particulate biomass and combustion medium, the primary air.
- a swirling device 5 is provided in the form of against the longitudinal extent of the primary tube by about 25 ° annealed vanes, which sets the primary air flow in rotation.
- a flame holder 7 is provided, which defines the outlet opening 8 of the primary tube 3.
- a radially inwardly facing, toothed edge 9 is provided, which comes into contact with the primary air flow and the biomass particles and subsequently ensures: a turbulence of the flow, which in Fig. 1 is indicated by the strongly curved arrows A.
- a secondary pipe 10 Concentric with the primary pipe 3, a secondary pipe 10 is provided which forms a secondary pipe gap 11 with the primary pipe 3.
- the secondary pipe gap 11 is traversed by secondary air, which is impressed by means of swirl devices 12 in the form of employed against the longitudinal extent of the primary pipe guide vanes in the secondary pipe gap 11 a twist.
- the secondary air does not have to be air in the true sense.
- a secondary groove 14 is provided which represents a conical extension of the secondary tube 10 and deflects the secondary air flow radially outward.
- an outwardly facing primary throat 15 in the form of a conical enlargement is provided, which contributes to the deflection of the secondary air flow to the outside and leads to a stall on the flame holder 7.
- This stall facilitates the formation of the turbulent turbulence of the biomass particles after the flame holder 7, as indicated by arrows B in FIG Fig. 1 is shown.
- a tertiary tube 16 Concentric with the secondary tube 10, a tertiary tube 16 is provided which forms a tertiary tube gap 17 with the secondary tube 10.
- the tertiary air is passed to the combustion chamber F, which need not be air in the classical sense, which is rotated by means of swirl devices 18 in Tertiärrohrspalt 17 in rotation.
- the tertiary tube 16 has at its outlet end 19 a conical enlargement, which is also referred to as a muffle 20 and preferably has a greater inclination angle than the secondary groove 14.

- the secondary groove 14 could also be aligned with the muffle 20, in particular flush with the wall W of the firebox F, be formed.
- the exit-side end 21 of the core tube 2 not only ends clearly in front of the flame holder 7.
- the core tube 2 also has a conical taper 22 at the outlet-side end 21.
- the axial distance D between the core tube 2 and the flame holder 7 is at least equal to, if not greater, than the radial distance R between the core tube 2 and the primary tube 3, ie the width of the primary tube gap 4 in the illustrated preferred burner 1.
- the outer diameter of the core tube 2 decreases in the region of the outlet-side end 21 with increasing proximity to the outlet-side end 21 in the longitudinal direction.

- Fig. 3 is a detail of a burner 30 in a longitudinal section corresponding to Fig. 1 and 2 shown. Identical components are assigned the same reference numerals.
- the main difference between the in Fig. 1 and Fig. 3 illustrated burners 1.30 is based on the fact that the core tube 2 circumferentially on its outer circumferential surface 31 has a plurality of flow straighteners 32 which are formed thin in the circumferential direction.
- the flow straighteners 32 extend parallel to the longitudinal extent of the burner 30 and of the core tube 2 and therefore divert a portion of the primary air in the axial direction.
- the flow straighteners could be tilted to the left or right, i. extend both in the longitudinal and transverse to the longitudinal direction of the primary tube, similar to the case of the swirl devices.
- the twist of the core tube near part of the primary air flow is amplified or attenuated.
- An inclination greater than 45 ° to 90 ° is generally less preferred, since the primary air flow would be so clearly braked.

- the outer, adjacent to the primary tube 3, primary air flow through the flow straightener 32 is not affected. This primary air flow thus remains in rotation.
- the radial extent of the flow straightener 32 in the illustrated preferred burner 30 corresponds to only about 40% of the radial distance R between the core tube 2 and the primary tube 3.
- the substantially axial core flow in the primary tube gap 4 is deflected by the conical region 22 of the core tube 2 and the axial distance D to the flame holder 7 particularly well in a central region of the burner 1, as indicated by the arrow C in Fig. 3 is indicated.
- a deflection device 41 has.
- the deflection device 41 is assigned to the exit-side end 21 of the core tube 2 and forms a concentric annular gap adjacent to the core tube 2.
- the deflection device 41 covers the conically tapering section 22 of the core tube 2, which in this embodiment is reduced the material thickness of the core tube 2 is formed.
- the deflection device 41 forms an inlet region 42, in which the flow is aligned substantially axially, but not radially.
- the inlet region 42 can be formed by a concentric tube sleeve.
- the deflection device 41 in the illustrated and so far preferred burner a with the same inclination angle ⁇ as the core tube 2 tapered section on. So that the flow cross-section in the deflection device 41 does not decrease too much, the conical section of the deflection device 41 can, if necessary, also be slightly less inclined than the conical section 22 of the core tube 2, so that, for example, a constant flow cross-section is provided in the deflection device 41.
- the deflection device 41 is preferably designed as an axially encircling component which ends in the same plane as the core tube 2.

Description
US 5 431 114 A beschrieben.

Fig. 1 dargestellt ist.
Diese Primärluftteilströmung bleibt also weiter in Rotation.
Fig. 3 angedeutet ist.
