Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cable lug which is arranged around a stripped electrical conductor of a cable and a method for its attachment to the stripped conductor of the cable.
  • the cable lug which has a cable-side receiving portion for arrangement around the electrical conductor and a contact portion arranged thereon, accommodates a conductor in its receiving portion, or is fastened by its receiving portion to a conductor and subsequently insulated by an insulating sleeve pushed over the receiving portion.
  • the contact section is used for contacting and is fixed in particular by clamping on a mating contact.
  • the receiving portion of the cable lug may be a crimpable tab, a compression sleeve or a ferrule.
  • the contact portion may e.g. an eyelet, fork or a flat plug.
  • the cable lug is in one piece and made of metal, for example of a stamped sheet, which forms the receiving portion and the contact portion.
  • Conventional lugs have a contact portion which can be electrically connected in a clamping connection, and a receiving portion, in which an electrical conductor is arranged.
  • an insulating sleeve with too large an inner diameter is arranged around this receiving portion and there reduced by reducing the inner diameter, e.g. fixed by shrinking.
  • the EP 1988604 A2 a round plug, which can be clamped to a wire and has a stop for a shrink sleeve. This stop extends annularly over the outer circumference of the plug.
  • the DE 29707491 U1 describes a cable lug whose terminal lug has a surface with uneven cross-section, which has a spring action when clamping a conductor.
  • the US 2,350,765 describes a cable lug which has between the receiving portion for a conductor and the contact portion having a bore for passing a clamping screw, a shoulder which allows a space-saving arrangement of two cable lugs whose shoulders are mirror images of each other.
  • the receiving portion has parallel to the shoulder on a stop against which the shoulder of a second cable lug can be arranged.
  • the US 2010/0197179 A1 describes a two-piece cable lug without insulating sleeve, which can be clamped against rotation by means of a clamping portion against a second cable lug.
  • the invention has the object of providing an alternative cable lug which is arranged around a stripped electrical conductor of a cable and to provide a method for fastening the cable lug to the electrical conductor, wherein the receiving portion of the cable lug is subsequently isolated circumferentially.
  • the invention solves the problem with the features of the claims and in particular with a cable lug, which avoids the postponement of an insulating sleeve on the contact portion.
  • the cable lug according to the invention is preferably in one piece and has or consists of a receiving section for arrangement on or around an electrical conductor, a contact section connected to the receiving section and a stop carrier which forms a stop which faces the first end of the receiving section adjoining the contact section is and extends over the outer radius of the receiving portion.
  • the stop is preferably arranged approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion, for example, the stop form a plane which inclined 70 to 110 °, preferably 85 to 95 °, in particular 88 to 92 ° to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion or arranged in the receiving portion conductor is.
  • the stop serves to limit the sliding of an insulating sleeve on the receiving portion.
  • the stopper carrier may be disposed on the contact portion or on a connecting piece connecting the first end of the receiving portion with the contact portion. Cable lugs according to the invention have, in addition to the complete contact section, a stop carrier which forms a stop facing the receiving section, which extends at a distance from the contact section.
  • the stop carrier extends over the distance between the contact portion and stop, so that the contact portion facing away from the edge of the stop carrier forms the stop.
  • the stop carrier is integrally formed with the contact portion and / or integral with the receiving portion.
  • the stop carrier extends in the plane in which the contact portion extends to form a flat cable lug.
  • the stop carrier and the stop formed by this have preferably the same extent perpendicular to the plane in which they extend, or the stop carrier has a maximum extent, which occupies the contact portion, so that the stop member is flat and extends in the same plane as the contact portion and the same or has a smaller extension or width.
  • the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion is the longitudinal axis of the recess formed by the receiving portion for attachment of a conductor and equivalent to the longitudinal axis of the conductor which is fixed in the recess.
  • the cable lug comprises a contact section, a stop carrier, a receiving section arranged on the stop carrier by means of an optional connecting piece, wherein the stop carrier forms a stop extending on one or both sides of the receiving section, which extends approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving section, preferably the Width of the contact portion has, or a smaller width than the contact portion.
  • contact portion which integrally formed with this stop carrier, an optional connector and the receiving portion arranged in a common plane and more preferably consist of a one-piece metal sheet.
  • a cable with a cable lug according to the invention has a conductor fastened in the receiving section and an insulating sleeve which is arranged around the receiving section, exposing the contact section, in particular in that the insulating sleeve with an end face abuts against the stop formed by the stop carrier, which is approximately perpendicular to Longitudinal axis of the conductor extends.
  • the receiving portion may be connected at its first end directly to the stop carrier or by a connecting piece which is arranged between the stop carrier and the contact portion.
  • receiving portion, stop carrier, the optional connector and the contact portion are integral, and more preferably contact portion and stop carrier are arranged in a common plane or in parallel planes, wherein the stop carrier has the same width as the contact portion or a smaller width than this.
  • the stop extends perpendicular to the axis of the receiving portion beyond its outer radius, preferably to a distance over the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion, in which the contact portion via the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion extends. In this way, the stop limits the outer surface of the receiving portion at its first end, so that an insulating sleeve, which is pushed from the opposite second end of the receiving portion on this, is displaceable up to the maximum stop.
  • the stop may extend on one or both sides of the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion in the plane in which the contact portion or the receiving portion extends, preferably in the plane in which the contact portion and the receiving portion extend.
  • the stop may be limited to the plane and cross section over which the contact portion extends.
  • the abutment may consist of a single piece with the contact portion and have at most the cross section of the contact portion perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion, and optionally preferably extend to the same distance from the axis of the receiving portion, in which the contact portion extends.
  • the stop has a stop surface or consists of a stop surface which is approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion or a conductor fixed therein.
  • the stop surface may be interrupted and is preferably arranged in a common plane with the contact portion.
  • the stop extends to a distance from the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion, which corresponds to the simple to double outer radius of an insulating sleeve, with which the insulating sleeve is pushed over the receiving portion and against the stop.
  • the abutment may extend over the fractional or complete circumference of the cable lug perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion, for example a proportionate surface which is symmetrical or asymmetrical to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion and is pin-shaped or cross-shaped, or a perforated or complete surface with a circular outer periphery forms around the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion.
  • the cable lug according to the invention has the advantage that when it is fastened to a stripped conductor of a cable by arranging the receiving section around the stripped cable Head is a subsequently slid around the receiving portion insulating sleeve to a maximum against the stop is displaceable, which is arranged at the first end of the receiving portion and projects beyond its outer surface, thereby preventing the stop a partial covering of the adjacent contact portion.
  • the spacing of the stop from the contact section through the stop carrier for example by 0.5 to 5 mm, preferably 1 to 2 mm, forms, in particular in the manual arrangement of the insulating sleeve in addition to the stop a structural element that prevents an insulating sleeve is pushed over the contact portion or extends.
  • the inventive method for fixing a cable lug therefore takes place using the cable lug according to the invention, wherein after arranging and fixing a conductor on or in the receiving portion of the lug an insulating sleeve is pushed over this receiving portion to the stop and then positively and / or non-positively around the receiving portion is fixed.
  • the insulating sleeve may be a permanently elastic hose, e.g. made of neoprene or PVC, or a shrink tube.
  • FIGS. 1 to 3 shown conventional cable lug has a receiving portion 2, which is arranged around a stripped conductor 3 and this holds positively and non-positively.
  • the cable lug has at the first end 1 of the receiving portion 2 an eyelet as a contact portion 5 on the in FIG. 1 shown, attached to a conductor 3 lug is in FIG. 2 shown with an insulating sleeve 6, which is shown in the pre-stretched state by its circumference in which it has a large inner diameter to be pushed over the receiving portion 2.
  • this can have such a large inner diameter by flattening that it is pushed easily over the contact portion 5.
  • an insulating sleeve 6 may be a shrink tube that is in the pre-stretched state prior to heating, or the insulating sleeve 6 may be a permanently elastic tube that is stretched to the pre-stretched state by expansion members, e.g. by inserted into the insulating tube elements, the insulating tube 6 to a larger. Inner diameter stretch than the diameter of the receiving portion. 2
  • FIG. 3 shows, in which the cable lug is shown after reducing the inner diameter of the insulating sleeve 6, the insulating sleeve 6 extends over the receiving portion 2 and still covers an adjoining part of the contact portion 5, which makes clear the disadvantage of this cable lug. Because the proportion of the contact portion 5, which is covered by the insulating sleeve 6, prevents a full-surface contact of the contact portion 5, for example, by two parallel planar mating contacts.
  • FIG. 4 shows a cable lug according to the invention with a contact portion 5, an adjoining stop support 8, which is integrally formed with the contact portion 5 and forms a stop 7.
  • the stop 7 has the same width, or extends up to the same radial distance from the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion 2 as the contact portion 5.
  • the stopper 7 is approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion 2, or perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion in the second fixed conductor 3.
  • the contact carrier 8 has an outer circumference or a width perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion, which is equal to the width of the stopper 7.
  • the stop carrier 8 has the stop 7 spaced from the contact section 5.
  • the insulating sleeve is shown here with reference to its circumference shown in the plan view.
  • the insulating sleeve in the prestressed state can project beyond the circumference of the receiving section 2 and is separated from the contact section 5 by the stop 7, which forms a discontinuity point, or is prevented from overlapping the contact section 5 by the stop 7.
  • FIG. 5 shows the cable lug with an insulating sleeve 6.
  • the receiving portion 2 at its first end 1 a stop support 8 which forms the stopper 7, while the conductor 3 projects from the opposite second end 4 in the receiving portion.
  • the receiving portion 2 is covered by an insulating sleeve 6, which adjoins the stop 7 with its end face.
  • At the contact portion 5 of the stop carrier 8 is fixed, which is connected to the first end 1 of the receiving portion 2.
  • the cross-sectional area of the stop carrier 8 forms the stop 7, which projects beyond the receiving section 2 and, according to a generally preferred embodiment, extends into the radial distance from the longitudinal axis of the receiving section 2 or the conductor 3, into which the contact section 5 extends.
  • the stop carrier 8 is as generally preferably integrally formed of sheet metal with the contact portion 5, wherein contact portion 5 and stop support 8 lie in a common plane, so that the stop surface 8 is a cross-sectional area of the contact portion which is approximately perpendicular to this common plane, and especially preferably approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion 2 stands.
  • the stopper 7 extends to the distance from the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion 2, in which the contact portion 5 extends.
  • the insulating sleeve 6 abuts when pushed onto the receiving portion 2 with one of its end faces against the stopper 7 and therefore can not cover the contact portion 5.
  • FIG. 6 shows a cable lug with cable connected thereto perpendicular to the plane in which the contact portion 5 extends.
  • the contact portion 5, the stop carrier 8 and arranged around the conductor 3 receiving portion 2 and the conductor 3 are in a common plane.
  • the insulating sleeve 6 abuts with an end face against the stop 7, of the cross section of the stop carrier. 8 is formed and extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the receiving portion 2 and the conductor 3.
