Definitions

  • the present invention is a modification of the patent no. 1007169 filed in OBI on 23/2/2010 with application no. 20100100102 .
  • the said invention relates to a heat/sound-insulating roof tile having an inner side made of wood and an intermediate insulation, which constitutes an integrated solution for the roofs of houses and other buildings.
  • the three layers in the finally produced product provide better insulation, an aesthetically perfect result and is ecological.
  • metal roofs in the form of roof tiles were adopted since they provide a similar aesthetic effect to the conventional roof tiles, however their cost is lower and their weight smaller.
  • metal roofs in the form of roof tiles were developed, wherein the outer side consists of iron sheet, copper, aluminum or other suitable metal, in the form of roof tiles, in the middle a suitable insulating material is positioned, which may be polyurethane foam, mineral wool, or even swollen polystyrene, and finally on the inner side, towards the house, a layer consisting again of iron sheet or other suitable material, the product painted and shaped as desired.
  • the disadvantages of such a product relate both to its technical aspect and its aesthetic one.
  • the present invention provides a technically and aesthetically perfect product which covers all the needs of a house or building.
  • the said roof tile allows the formation of a roof presenting a perfect result, mimicking a conventional ceramic roof, while in parallel it is more ecological than the already available system with better heat-insulation and sound-insulation properties.
  • a "warmer” environment is created, while heat bridges are obviated, which constitute one of the more significant problems of the metal roofs.
  • Other significant advantages regard the reduction in the production time of the final product and the flexibility regarding the desired dimensions depending on the customer's needs.
  • Figure 1 shows in perspective view the produced heat/sound-insulating roof tile with an inner wooden layer.
  • the invention relates to a new type of heat/sound-insulating roof tile, which has on the outer side iron sheet, aluminum or other suitable metal, consisting of three layers.
  • the outer layer, figure 1 consists of a metal cover (1) shaped in the form of a roof tile.
  • the material employed is mainly iron sheet, but also copper, aluminum or other metal or material may be used.
  • the shape may be the conventional Dutch roof tile, or even Roman, French or any other type, depending on the requirements and desires of the customer.
  • the inner side of the iron sheet is covered with a primer, so that a foamed insulating material (2), which is the intermediate layer, is adhered.
  • the purpose of this material is the effective insulation of the buildings from the side of the roof both against heat and against sound.
  • insulating material polyurethane foam, mineral wool, which is heavier and has poor heat-insulation properties but better sound-insulation properties and fire resistance, swollen polystyrene or any other type of insulating material.
  • the inner side contrary to the current system which consisted of painted iron sheet or other metal, or a wooden layer on the inner iron sheet was used, consists of wood (3) directly adhered on the insulating material.
  • the selection of the inner surface is from a group of materials, such as planed timber, chipboard, MDF, OSB, plywood, plasterboard or any other suitable material.
  • the wooden inner surface provides various advantages, since apart from the aesthetic result, the whole product is more ecological, whereas the absence of an inner metal joint to the iron sheet eliminates heat bridges, i.e. the parts of the housing of the building which are poorly insulated or non-insulated, thus presenting a reduced resistance to heat flow. The space is thus “warmer” and comfortable, while if an increased sound insulation is required, grooves of a specific depth are formed on the wood, which do not affect its mechanical strength and contribute to the intended purpose.
  • rods of specific dimensions may be arranged, so that on one hand they block the flow of the insulating material outwards, on the other hand they increase the rigidity of the heat-insulating roof tile.
  • the system is further sealed with suitable materials, so that diffusion of material is prevented and in parallel the heat insulation and the rigidity of the system is increased.
  • plywood, marine plywood, plastic, aluminum, metal strap, paper or even polyamide providing additional heat insulation and rigidity.
  • the production of the system is in continuous flow and the obtained sheets are cut to predetermined sizes.
  • the production of the specific final product may also be effected manually on a press for lower quantities.
  • the parts can be connected with the respective overlaps and the suitable connection arrangement.
