la fig. 1 représente une vue en perspective d'un panneau suivant l'invention;
la fig. 2 représente une coupe suivant la ligne II-II de la fig. 1, mais pour une variante d'exécution;
la fig. 3 représente schématiquement une coupe au travers d'un toit à pannes pourvue de panneaux sandwiches suivant l'invention;
la fig. 4 représente une vue en perspective d'une variante d'exécution du panneau sandwich de la fig. 1;
la fig. 5 représente une coupe suivant la ligne V-V de la fig. 4, mais pour une variante d'exécution;
;
la fig. 6 représente schématiquement une coupe transversale au travers d'un toit à fermes normal, pourvu des panneaux sandwiches conformes à l'invention;
la fig. 7 représente, à plus grande échelle, la partie de la fig. 6 indiquée par F7;
la fig. 8 représente schématiquement une coupe transversale d'une toiture à fermes où les panneaux sandwiches suivant l'invention sont posés de gouttières à faîte;

The present invention relates to a self-supporting sandwich panel which is suitable for the production of wall constructions, although such a sandwich panel according to the invention is particularly suitable for the production of roofs, in which case such self-supporting sandwich panels may be used in combination with all kinds of roof coverings such as tiles, slates, etc.
French patent N 2308500 discloses laminated panels with intermediate layers of rigid synthetic resin foam, comprising outer layers formed by wooden plates and at least one intermediate layer of rigid synthetic resin foam bonded over its entire surface with the layers outside.
The sandwich panel according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that it consists of a layer of insulating material, fixed between two plates of chipboard of agglomerated wood, one side of the panel thus formed being provided with wooden slats.
In order to better understand the characteristics of the sandwich panel according to the invention, a description is given below, by way of example, of some embodiments with reference to the appended drawings in which:
fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a panel according to the invention;
fig. 2 shows a section along line II-II of FIG. 1, but for an alternative embodiment;
fig. 3 schematically represents a section through a purlin roof provided with sandwich panels according to the invention;
fig. 4 shows a perspective view of an alternative embodiment of the sandwich panel of FIG. 1;
fig. 5 shows a section along the line V-V of FIG. 4, but for an alternative embodiment;
;
fig. 6 schematically shows a cross section through a normal truss roof, provided with sandwich panels according to the invention;
fig. 7 shows, on a larger scale, the part of FIG. 6 indicated by F7;
fig. 8 schematically represents a cross section of a truss roof where the sandwich panels according to the invention are placed with ridge gutters;
fig. 9 is a section along the line IX-IX of FIG. 8.
In these figures, the insulating layer proper is indicated by 1, the chipboard panels agglomerated by 2-3 and the aforementioned slats by; 5, all of these parts preferably being connected by gluing.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, where the sandwich panel is intended to be used on a roof formed of purlins, the lateral edges which are directed along the inclination of the roof consist of edges, respectively 6-7, and grooves, respectively 8 -9, in which said edges fit, these edges and these grooves being provided directly in parts 12-3 in the case of execution according to FIG. 1, while, in the execution according to FIG. 2, slats 10-11 are provided in which the ridges and grooves are made.
In the execution according to fig. 4 and 5, where the sandwich panel is intended to be used on a roof made up of normal trusses, said edges 6-7 and said grooves 8-9 are formed in the lateral edges directed transversely to the inclination of the roof, these edges and these grooves being in this case also provided in parts 1-2-3 (fig. 4) or in slats 10-11 (fig. 5).
In fig. 6 and 7, it is indicated that, in the case of a normal roof with trusses, the panels are superposed on each other, while joints 12 of elastic material are placed in the junctions between panels.
In the case of a truss roof, where these are of greater thickness (figs. 8 and 9), the panels will also be placed between gutter and ridge, as in the case of a purlin roof.
Finally, the upper and lower edges of the panels are preferably provided with a closure strip, in order to prevent the insulating layer from being devoured by rodents and at the same time to offer a means for fixing other elements. construction against the panel.
The agglomerated wood chip plates used in the sandwich panels according to the invention will preferably have the following characteristics:
Tensile strength after 2 hours of cooking (in water): minimum 2 kg / cm2.
Resistance to folding: minimum 200 kg / cm2.
Swelling after 24 h of immersion: maximum 15%.
Specific weight: minimum 700 kg / cm3.
The sandwich panel according to the invention can of course be combined with any additional arrangement, such as for example that which consists in providing on the internal face of the sandwich panels a decorative layer in the form of paint, etc.
It is obvious that such self-supporting sandwich panels according to the invention are particularly suitable for use as roofing elements, since they do not require any special roofing structure. In the case where a roof is made by means of purlins, we can use sandwich panels for an inclined roof, from the ridge to the gutter, placed directly on the purlins. In the case of a truss roof, the sandwich panels will however be placed transversely to the trusses, as long as they are normal trusses, in other words thin trusses (of the order of magnitude for example 3.5 to 4 cm), either from gutter to ridge, in the case of thick trusses, for example of the order of 8 cm.
We always obtain, in this way, an easy and fast assembly, which influences very favorably the cost price of the construction of the roof, and allows,
in the case of a purlin roof, to save even the actual structure of the roof, the insulation of the roof being automatically ensured in all cases.
Such self-supporting sandwich panels can of course be executed in all dimensions, the dimension of the constituent parts with respect to each other being able to be modified in accordance with the requirements set, and this more particularly with regard to the thermal insulation of the sandwich panel, the bearing capacity of the sandwich panel and the required spans.
Such a sandwich panel will also be provided on its upper face with slats directed according to the inclination of the roof, on which it is possible to fix battens or the like, both so that it is created between the panels sandwiches and the roof covering a movable layer of air, so that this space will be permanently dried and can be used for the evacuation of water, for example when it enters between the tiles in the case of driving rain.
The above slats will preferably be treated with a moisture repellant and anti-mold product.
Yet another advantage of the sandwich panels according to the invention is that their specific weight can be very low, in particular of the order of 8 to 9 kg / m2, which also has a favorable effect on the cost price of the supporting structure. of the roof and hence of the construction of the roof.
A sandwich panel according to the invention therefore simultaneously constitutes an appropriate insulating and resistant panel, on which it is possible, in most cases, to directly apply any roof covering by means of battens or the like.
Because the insulating layer of very low resistance is effectively incorporated between two rigid plates, it is obtained that this insulating layer is perfectly protected against any possible damage, so that the thermal insulation is guaranteed effective and durable.
In a particular embodiment, at least two opposite edges of the sandwich panel will be provided over their entire length with at least one protuberance or edge, on the one hand, and at least one notch or groove, on the other hand, so that the panels can be connected to each other; in the case of a purlin roof, these profiled edges will preferably be directed according to the inclination of the roof, whereas, in the case of a truss roof, the profiled edges may be placed either transversely to, or along the inclination of the roof.
In yet another embodiment, the profiled edge or not will be manufactured by means of a wooden slat, which will then enclose the actual insulation of the panel.
Because, as specified above, such sandwich panels according to the invention participate in the resistance of the roof or similar construction, it is obtained that the actual structure of the roof can be executed in a much lighter manner than during the use of conventional materials.
Finally, the layer of insulating material can consist of a polystyrene or polyurethane foam, glass fibers or other similar materials.
