Abstract
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von (1-Alkoxy-2-methyl-1-oxopropan-2-yl)-(meth)acrylat, z.B. (1-Methoxy-2-methyl-1-oxopropan-2-yl)-(meth)acrylat, durch Umesterung von a-Hydroxyisobuttersäurealkylestern. Durch Copolymerisation solcher Monomere bei der Herstellung von Poly(meth)acrylat basierten Formmassen wird deren Wärmeformbeständigkeit verbessert.
Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung von (l-Alkoxy-2-methyl-l- oxopropan-2-yl) - (meth) acrylat
Gebiet der Erfindung
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von (l-Alkoxy-2-methyl-l-oxopropan-2-yl) - (meth) acrylat, z.B. ( l-Methoxy-2-methyl-l-oxopropan-2-yl ) - (meth) acrylat, durch Umesterung von -Hydroxy-isobuttersäure-alkylestern . Durch Copolymerisation solcher Monomere bei der Herstellung von Poly (meth) acrylat basierten Formmassen wird deren
Wärmeformbeständigkeit verbessert .
Unter (Meth) acrylaten bzw. Poly (meth) acrylaten werden im folgenden Derivate der Acrylsäure, der Methacrylsäure und Mischungen aus vorgenannten bzw. deren Polymere verstanden. Für die Bezeichnungen (l-Alkoxy-2-methyl-l-oxopropan-2-yl) - (meth) acrylat wird im Weiteren synonym auch (Meth) acryloyl- isobuttersäure-alkylester oder -Hydroxy-isobuttersäure- alkylester- (meth) acrylat oder die Abkürzung HIBSA-(M)A verwendet. Entsprechendes gilt für spezifische
Verbindungen. Insbesondere wird für ( l-Methoxy-2-methyl-l- oxopropan-2-yl) -methacrylat im Weiteren synonym
Methacryloyl-isobuttersäure-methylester oder -Hydroxy- isobuttersäure-methylester-methacrylat bzw. die Abkürzung HIBSM-MA verwendet.
Stand der Technik
In JP 11 222 460 werden tricyclische, ungesättigte
Verbindungen mit einem schwach säuremodifizierten
Polymethacrylat umgesetzt. Diese Gruppen können nach einer Verarbeitung des Polymers, bei der die Säuregruppen stören würden, durch Anwendung hochenergetischer Strahlung
abgespalten werden. Dieses Verfahren ist in Bezug auf seine Anwendbarkeit jedoch aus verschiedenen Gründen auf wenige Felder wie z.B. Laser-Lithographie beschränkt. Zudem werden die funktionellen Gruppen ausschließlich polymeranalog angebracht .
Einen guten Überblick über weitere, durch Anwendung
hochenergetischer Strahlung entfernbare Gruppen, die als Abspaltprodukt Säuren bilden, findet sich in JP 2000 347 410. Dabei handelt es sich um fünf Arten von Alkoholen, die vor der Polymerisation mit der Methacrylsäure verestert werden: monocylcische, heterocyclische, höhercyclische wie z.B. di- oder tricyclische Gruppen, Ether, die eine Cl- Brücke zur Estergruppe aufweisen und Verbindungen, die über einen tertiären Alkohol verestert sind. Letztere Gruppe umfasst ausschließlich reine Alkyl- bzw.
halogensubstituierte Alkylgruppen . Diese Methacrylate lassen sich mit anderen Methacrylaten copolymerisieren . Für alle Verbindungen sind nach der Polymerisation
ausschließlich Aktivierungen mittels energetischer
Strahlung, und nicht mittels thermischer Behandlung
beschrieben .
Weitere, unter Abspaltung zu Säuren umsetzbare Gruppen, die zusammen mit tricyclischen Gruppen in Polymethacrylaten für Anwendungen in der Laser-Lithographie eingebaut werden
können, sind in JP 11 024 274 beschrieben. Dazu kann unter anderem folgende, nicht näher konkretisierte, Art von
Monomeren copolymerisiert werden:
Dabei ist die Zahl n = 0 oder 1 und bei den Resten R handelt es sich um Wasserstoff, Standardalkylreste oder ähnliches, ohne dass die Gruppen näher spezifiziert werden. R4 wird nur als Cl-, C2- oder C3-Rest eingesetzt. Die
Aktivierung dieser Bausteine erfolgt wieder nur mittels energiereicher Strahlung und somit passend zur Anwendung Laser-Lithographie nur oberflächlich. Problematisch sind, wie in den zuvor beschriebenen Beispielen, die
Nebenprodukte, die störend im Produkt verbleiben oder aufwendig entfernt werden müssen. Letzteres ist bei einer nach der Verarbeitung durchgeführten Strahlenaktivierung gar nicht oder bestenfalls nur an der Oberfläche möglich. Ein Verfahren zur Synthese dieser Bausteine wird darüber hinaus nicht konkretisiert.
In Kricheldorf et al . (J. Pol. Sei.: Part A: Pol. Chem.,
46, S. 6229-6237, 2008) werden Substanzen der Form
als Nebenprodukt einer Polykondensation von -Hydroxy- isobuttersäure-anhydrosulfit zu Polyhydoxy-isobuttersäure nachgewiesen. Diese Substanzen werden jedoch weder
isoliert, noch einer Polymerisation des Methacrylats unterzogen. Ferner sind die an dieser Stelle nachgewiesenen Substanzen mit R3 = Methyl oder Benzoyl aufgrund des hohen Kondensationsgrades mit einem n von mindestens 20 als Monomer gänzlich ungeeignet.
Aufgabe
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, neuartige, thermisch aktivierbare Monomere zur Verfügung zu stellen. Darüber hinaus ist es Aufgabe, Monomere, die einfach mit Poly (meth) acrylaten copolymerisierbar sind und sich
beispielsweise in PMMA-Formmassen einbauen lassen, zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Darüber hinaus ist es Aufgabe, ein Verfahren zur
Herstellung von Monomeren, die vielfältig, in
unterschiedlichen Funktionen verwendbar sind, zur Verfügung zu stellen
Ein Aspekt ist es, Monomere zur Verfügung zu stellen, die die Steigerung der Wärmeformbeständigkeit von Formmassen ermöglichen .
Ein anderer Aspekt ist es, Monomere zur Verfügung zu stellen, die die Haftungseigenschaften von
Lackbindemitteln, insbesondere gegenüber Metalloberflächen, verbessern .
Ein dritter Aspekt ist es, Monomere zur Verfügung zu stellen, die dazu geeignet sind, Poly (meth) acrylate mit besonders hohen Säurezahlen über ein dazu an sich nicht geeignetes Polymerisationsverfahren, wie die
Lösungspolymerisation in unpolaren Lösungsmitteln oder eine ATRP (atom transfer polymerization) , zur Verfügung zu stellen .
Weitere nicht explizit genannte Aufgaben ergeben sich aus dem GesamtZusammenhang der nachfolgenden Beschreibung, Ansprüche und Beispiele.
Lösung
Die Aufgaben werden gelöst durch ein neuartiges Verfahren zur Herstellung neuartiger funktioneller Monomere auf
(Meth) acrylatbasis . Insbesondere betrifft das Verfahren die Synthese eines Monomers (I) der allgemeinen Formel
wobei es sich bei R um Wasserstoff oder eine Methylgruppe, bei R2 um Wasserstoff oder eine Alkylgruppe, bestehend 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen, und bei m um eine Zahl zwischen 0 und 10, bevorzugt zwischen 0 und 5, besonders bevorzugt zwischen 0 und 2 handelt. Da es sich bei dem Produkt des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens auch um eine Mischung
verschiedener Monomere (I) handeln kann, kann m
gleichzeitig und unabhängig mit mehreren Werten in diesem Bereich vorliegen.
R kann eine lineare, verzweigte oder cyclische Struktur aufweisen. Bevorzugt handelt es sich bei R2 um eine einfach Alkylgruppe wie tert-Butyl, n-Butyl, iso-Propyl, Propyl, Ethyl oder Methyl. Ganz besonders bevorzugt handelt es sich um eine Methylgruppe und insgesamt somit um -Hydroxy-
isobuttersäure-methylester- (meth) acrylat . Alternativ kann es sich bei R2 auch um Aromaten mit 6 bis 10
Kohlenstoffatomen, wie eine Phenyl- oder Benzylgruppe, handeln .
Das neuartige Monomer aus dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren wird aus (Meth) acrylaten bzw. (Meth) acrylsäure und - Hydroxy-isobuttersäure bzw. einem -Hydroxy-isobuttersäure- alkylester gewonnen. Genauer kann das Monomer durch
Umesterung aus einem (Meth) acrylat oder durch Veresterung aus (Meth) acrylsäure gewonnen werden.
Die Schreibweisen (Meth) acrylat steht stellvertretend für Ester der Acryl- oder der Methacrylsäure . (Meth) acrylsäure steht entsprechend für Acryl- oder Methacrylsäure.
Das erfindungsgemäß hergestellte Monomer wird als Gemisch mehrerer Monomere (I) erhalten. Diese unterscheiden sich im Kondensationsgrad, also der Zahl m. Insgesamt hat dieses Gemisch nach der Synthese und vor der Aufarbeitung einen Anteil an den Monomeren (I) von mindestens 40 Gew%, bevorzugt von mindestens 55 Gew% .
Alternativ kann das Monomerengemisch nach dem
Syntheseschritt destillativ aufgereinigt werden, um
entweder den Anteil an den Monomeren (I) zu erhöhen, oder einzelne Monomerspezies , bei denen z.B. m zwischen 0 und 2 sein kann, zu isolieren. Ein solches Destillat hat einen Anteil an Monomeren (I) von mindestens 70 Gew%, bevorzugt mindestens 90 Gew% . Der Anteil kann durch zusätzliche
Destillationen oder Verwendung mehrstufiger
Destillationskolonnen noch gesteigert werden.
Auf diese Weise sind beispielsweise Monomer (II) mit m = 0 oder Monomer (III) mit m = 1 erhältlich.
Die Synthese bzw. die Isolierung der Monomere (II) und (III) ist genauso neu wie die Synthese von Monomeren (I) mit R1 = H, also Acrylaten oder Monomeren (I), einen Rest R2 aufweisend, der maximal aus 10 Kohlenstoffatomen
besteht .
Besonders bevorzugt sind Methacrylsäureester des -Hydroxy- isobuttersäure-methylesters , also Monomere (IIa) bzw.
(lila), mit R1 und R2 jeweils als Methylgruppe.
(Ha) (lila)
Die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Monomere, insbesondere die Monomere (I) mit einem Rest R2 bestehend aus 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt aus 1 bis 3 Kohlenstoffatomen und ganz besonders bevorzugt die Monomere (II) oder (III) sind dazu verwendbar, Polymere mit hohem Säuregehalt herzustellen. Dazu wird das Monomer mit anderen Monomeren in einem Polymerisationsverfahren zu einem Polymer mit Ester-Seitengruppen copolymerisiert . Anschließend wird durch Temperaturzufuhr eine Substanz (V) der Formel
polymeranalog abgespaltet. Auf diese Weise werden am
Polymer Säuregruppen gebildet. Da das erfindungsgemäße Monomer Estergruppen, erhalten durch die Veresterung tertiärer OH-Funktionen, werden diese Estergruppen leichter abgespalten als die Esterfunktionen der optional mit verwendeten Comonomeren.
Dieses Verfahren ist vielseitig einsetzbar. So kann es sich bei dem Polymer um eine wärmeformbeständige Formmasse handeln. Dazu erfolgt die polymeranaloge Abspaltung der Substanz (V) bevorzugt in einem Extruder oder Kneter. In diesem Extruder bzw. Kneter kann auch die Entfernung der Restmonomere und/oder der verbleibenden freigesetzten
Substanz (V) erfolgen. Im Falle, dass es sich bei Monomer (I) um -Hydroxy-isobuttersäure-methylester- (meth) acrylat handelt, wird bei der erfindungsgemäßen thermischen
Abspaltung Methylmethacrylat (MMA) freigesetzt.
Wiederholungseinheiten aus Bausteinen der (Meth) acrylsäure, bevorzugt aus denen der Methacrylsäure, tragen zu einer deutlich verbesserten Wärmeformbeständigkeit von Formmassen und den aus diesen Formmassen hergestellten Formkörpern bei. Mit dem Säureanteil steigt die Glastemperatur, und damit die Wärmeformbeständigkeit der Formmasse.
Eine Besonderheit des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens ist, dass es sich bei Substanz (V) um Methacrylsäure oder einen Ester der Methacrylsäure handelt. Vorteil der Freisetzung solcher, den zuvor zur Herstellung der Formmasse
eingesetzten Monomeren analogen oder sogar identischen Verbindungen ist, dass sie nach der Freisetzung entweder in bestehende oder neue Polymerketten eingebaut werden oder
aber aus dem System zusammen mit den Restmonomeren
destillativ entfernt und, im Gegensatz zu anderen
Abspaltprodukten, erneut für die Monomersynthese bzw. für die Polymerherstellung verwendet werden können.
Zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Monomere (I) kommen neben einer Veresterung bevorzugt auch eine Umesterung z.B. von MMA oder tert-Butyl (meth) acrylat oder die Umsetzung mit einem Säurehalogenid wie (Meth) acrylsäurechlorid oder die Umsetzung mit (Meth) acrylsäureanhydrid in Frage.
Überraschend wurde gefunden, dass die dazu verwendeten Katalysatoren, wenn sie im Produkt verbleiben, in der
Abspaltungsreaktion bei höheren Temperaturen die Verseifung der Esterseitengruppen des Polymeren begünstigen. Zu diesem Zweck können solche Umesterungskatalysatoren auch den
Polymeren, die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Monomere enthaltend, vor der Temperaturzufuhr zugesetzt werden. Die polymeranaloge Abspaltung der Substanz (V) kann somit optional durch Zugabe oder Vorliegen eines
Umesterungskatalysators beschleunigt werden.
Als Umesterungskatalysatoren können a.) Br0nstedsäuren, wie beispielsweise Schwefelsäure, para-Toluolsulfonsäure, saure Ionenaustauscher oder eine Kombination dieser mit Metallen wie Zinkoxid; b.) Basen, wie insbesondere Metallalkoholate, insbesondere Alkoholate des Lithiums, Natriums oder
Kaliums, wie L1OCH3, NaOCH3, KOCH3, die entsprechenden
Acetate, Propionate oder Butanolate; aber auch
Aluminiumverbindungen, wie Aluminiumisopropionat ;
Carbonate, wie K2CO3; Hydroxyde wie LiOH, NaOH, Ca (OH) 2;
basische Oxide, wie CaO; basische Ionenaustauscher;
Ammoniak; Metallamide, wie Li H2 oder a H2," Amine wie
primäre, sekundäre oder tertiäre Amine, wie Triethylamin, Diisopropylethylamin; bzw. besonders starke Amine, wie 4- (Dimethylamino) pyridin (DMAP) oder 1,8- Diazabicyclo [ 5.4.0 ] undec-7-en (DBU; zusammen mit LiBr einzusetzen); und c.) Lewis-Säuren bzw. Metalloxide, insbesondere Titan-, Zirkonium- oder Zinn-Katalysatoren, wie Isopropyltitanat , Isobutyltitanat , Titanthydroxid, Titandioxid, Dioctylzinnoxid, Dibutylzinnoxid,
Tributylzinnalkoholate, Dibutylzinndialkoholate ;
Dibutylzinndichlorid; Titantetraalkoholate,
Titantetrachlorid oder Mischformen, wie Ti(OEt)4, Ti(OEt)4- n(OMe)n, Ti(Oi-Pr)3Cl oder Ti (Oi-Pr) 2C12 ; aber auch andere Metallverbindungen, wie i-PrOCu (PPh) 3, Palladium- Katalysatoren, eingesetzt werden. Alternativ können auch dazu geeignete Enzyme zur Umesterung eingesetzt werden. Eine gute Übersicht über eine Vielzahl verwendbarer
Umesterungskatalysatoren und Methoden zur Umesterung findet sich bei Otera (Chem.Rev., 93, 1993, S.1449-70).
Bevorzugt werden Basen, besonders bevorzugt
Metallalkoholate und ganz besonders bevorzugt Methanolate, Ethanolate, Propionate, iso-Propionate, Butanolate oder iso-Butanolate des Lithiums, Natriums oder Kaliums als Umesterungskatalysatoren verwendet .
Zur Ausbeutenverbesserung können zusätzlich weitere
Hilfsmittel, wie Molekularsiebe, verwendet werden. Auch können die freigesetzten Alkohole während der
Umesterungsreaktion destillativ entfernt werden.
Darüber hinaus ist dieses Verfahren jedoch auch in anderen Bereichen der Polymerchemie einsetzbar. So können nach Stand der Technik Poly (meth) acrylate mit hohem Säuregehalt gar nicht oder nur sehr aufwendig mittels einer
Lösungspolymerisation, insbesondere in organischen oder gar unpolaren Lösungsmitteln hergestellt werden. Durch eine optional katalysierte, thermische Nachbehandlung ist es mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren dagegen durchaus möglich, auch diese Polymerisationsmethoden zur Synthese von
Poly (meth) acrylaten mit hoher Säurezahl einzusetzen.
Dieser Aspekt spielt insbesondere eine Rolle in Bezug auf eine kontrollierte radikalische Polymerisation, mit deren Hilfe Polymerarchitekturen wie Block-, Stern- oder
Graftcopolymere, z.B. in Form amphihpiler Blockcopolymere, wie sie in der Membrantechnik Einsatz finden, hergestellt werden. Beispiele für solche Polymerisationsmethoden sind die NMP (Nitroxide Mediated Polymerization) und die RAFT (Reversible Additition Fragmentation Chain Transfer
Polymerization) .
Zusätzliche Bedeutung hat das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren bei Verwendung einer anionischen Polymerisation oder einer weiteren kontrollierten radikalischen
Polymerisationsverfahren, der ATRP (Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization) , die beide unter Vorliegen von Säuren, aufgrund einer Deaktivierung der Initiatoren bzw.
Katalysatoren, nicht durchführbar sind.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren hat aber auch bezüglich der Herstellung von Monomeren (IV) große Bedeutung.
Die Monomere (IV) zeichnen sich insbesondere dadurch aus, dass zwischen der (Meth) acrylgruppe, bzw. - nach der
Polymerisation - der Polymerkette, und der Säuregruppe sich gegenüber (Meth) acrylsäure eine längere Brücke befindet. Man spricht von einer gespacerten Säure. Es hat sich anwendungstechnisch gezeigt, dass solche Säuren gegenüber (Meth) acrylsäure besser zur Haftung auf Untergründen wie insbesondere Metallen beitragen. Dieses birgt insbesondere Vorteile bei der Herstellung eines Lackbindemittels. Die thermische Stabilität der aus den Monomeren (IV)
hergestellten (Co)polymere ist für eine solche
Lackanwendung, bei der die Aushärtung in der Regel bei Raumtemperatur erfolgt, ausreichend.
Monomere der Formeln (I), (II), (III) oder (IV) können auch als Comonomer verwendet werden. Insbesondere die
Copolymerisation mit (Meth) acrylaten und/oder mit mit
(Meth) acrylaten copolymerisierbaren Monomeren ist eine mögliche Verwendung der erfindungsgemäß hergestellten
Monomere .
Die erfindungsgemäßen Monomeren können zur Herstellung von
Polymeren, wie Formmassen oder Lackbindemitteln, mit einer
Reihe von Monomeren copolymerisiert werden. Beispielsweise können Methyl (meth) acrylat, Ethyl (meth) acrylat ,
Propyl (meth) acrylat, iso-Propyl (meth) acrylat,
Butyl (meth) acrylat , iso-Butyl (meth) acrylat , tert.-
Butyl (meth) acrylat, Hexyl (meth) acrylat,
Heptyl (meth) acrylat, 2-Ethylhexyl (meth) acrylat,
Cyclohexyl (meth) acrylat , Octyl (meth) acrylat , iso-
Octyl (meth) acrylat, Decyl (meth) acrylat,
Benzyl (meth) acrylat, Tetrahydrofurfuryl (meth) acrylat,
Octadecyl (meth) acrylat, Dodecyl (meth) acrylat,
Tetradecyl (meth) acrylat, Oleyl (meth) acrylat,
4-Methylphenyl (meth) acrylat, Benzyl (meth) acrylat,
Furfuryl (meth) acrylat, Cetyl (meth) acrylat,
2-Phenylethyl (meth) acrylat, Isobornyl (meth) acrylat,
Neopentyl (meth) acrylat, Vinylmethacrylat ,
Hydroxyethylmethacrylat , Methacrylamid, n-
Isopropylmethacrylamid oder Mischungen zweier bzw. mehrerer der aufgezählten Monomere eingesetzt werden.
Zusätzlich zu den aufgezählten (Meth) acrylaten können die Polymere auch aus anderen nicht auf (Meth) acrylsäure basierenden, jedoch mit diesen copolymerisierbaren
Monomeren aufgebaut werden. Beispiele hierfür sind Styrol, -Methylstyrol , Norbornen, Cyclohexylmaleimid, Itaconsäure oder Maleinsäureanhydrid.
Beide Auflistungen, sowohl die der (Meth) acrylate, als auch die der mit (Meth) acrylaten copolymerisierbaren Monomere sind beispielhaft und in keiner Weise dazu geeignet, die vorliegende Erfindung in irgendeiner Art und Weise
einzuschränken .
Beispiele
Beispiel 1 (Monomersynthese)
Eine Mischung aus 885,8 g -Hydroxy-isobuttersäure- methylester (HIBSM) , 1.876,9 g Methylmethacrylat (MMA, Fa. Evonik Röhm) , 0,349 g Hydrochinonmonomethylether (Fa.
Merck) und 0,014 g 4-Hydroxy-2 , 2 , 6, 6-tetramethyl-piperidin- 1-oxyl (TEMPOL, Fa. Evonik Degussa) wird in einem 4L
Vierhalskolben mit Säbelrührer (Rührhülse, Rührmotor) , einem Thermometer, einem Einleitungsrohr für Pressluft, einer Silberspiegelkolonne (bestehend aus 8*8 Raschigringen und einem automatischen Kolonnenkopf) , einem
Intensivkühler, Destillationskühler, einem Thiele-Anschütz- Vorstoß, einem Ölbbad mit Temperaturregelung und einer Vakuumpumpe (mit Kühlfallen) vorgelegt. Die Mischung wird zum Sieden erhitzt und dabei enthaltendes Wasser azeotrop abgetrennt .
Nach Abkühlen auf 80 °C wird der Katalysator (27,93 g
Natriummethylat-Lsg . , 30 Gew%ig in Methanol, Fa. Evonik Degussa) zugesetzt. Anschließend wird für 15 h bei einer Ölbadtemperatur von ca. 130 °C refluxiert. Die
Kolbeninnentemperatur liegt dabei ganzzeitlich zwischen 105 °C und 108 °C.
Abschließend werden bei gleicher Außentemperatur unter Vakuum volatile Bestandteile entfernt. Als Rohprodukt werden nach einer Filtration 741,9 g einer trüben, braunen, leicht viskosen Flüssigkeit erhalten.

Beispiel 2 (Destillation des Rohproduktes aus Beispiel 1)
In einem 1 L Dreihalskolben mit Säbelrührer (Rührhülse, Rührmotor) , Siedekapillare, Thermometer,
Silberspiegelkolonne (20 cm, 6 mm Raschig-Ringe) ,
Übergangsthermometer, Destillationsbrücke, Thiele-Anschütz- Vorstoß, Ölbad mit Temperaturreglung, Kühlfallen,
Manometer und Oldrehschiebervakuumpumpe werden 668,0 g des Rohproduktes aus Beispiel 1 mit 0,334 g
Hydrochinonmonomethylether (Fa. Merck), 0,013 TEMPOL und 70,0 g des Wärmeübertragungsreagenz Malotherm SH (Fa.
Sasol) vorgelegt. Unter Vakuum wird fraktioniert
destilliert. Siehe dazu den Destillationsverlauf in Tabelle 2.
Bei allen Fraktionen handelt es sich um klare, farblose Flüssigkeiten. In den Fraktionen F und G bilden sich nach einigen Stunden weiße Kristalle. Der Destillationsrückstand stellt eine braune, trübe Flüssigkeit dar.
Die Fraktionen B und C zeigen, dass sich Monomer (IIa) mit einer Destillation zu über 88 Fl . % (GC, entspricht ungefähr auch dem Masseanteil) Reinheit gewonnen wird. Aus Fraktion G erkennt man, dass sich auch Monomer (lila) zu einem
Gehalt von über 50 Fl . % gewinnen lässt.
Weiterhin erkennt man, dass der Gesamtgehalt
erfindungsgemäßer Monomere in den Fraktionen B und C über 90 Fl.%, in der Fraktion D über 85 Fl . % und in den
Fraktionen A und E über 70 Fl.% liegt. So lassen sich mit nur einer, nicht optimierten Destillation bereits Monomere
in hohen Reinheiten, ohne störende Bestandteile wie MAS, gewinnen .

Claims
PATENTANSPRÜCHE
1. Verfahren zur Synthese eines Monomeren (I) oder
Monomerengemischs bestehend aus verschiedenen Monomeren (I), dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Monomer (I) bzw. das Monomerengemisch aus einem (Meth) acrylat bzw. (Meth) acrylsäure und -Hydroxy- isobuttersäure bzw. einem -Hydroxy-isobuttersäure- alkylester gewonnen wird und folgende Formel aufweist :
wobei es sich bei R1 um Wasserstoff oder eine Methylgruppe, bei R2 um Wasserstoff oder eine Alkylgruppe, bestehend aus 1 bis 10
Kohlenstoffatomen, und bei m um eine Zahl zwischen 0 und 10 handelt, und dass das Monomerengemisch einen Anteil an Monomer (I) von mindestens 80 Gew% aufweist .
2. Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Monomer (I) durch Veresterung aus
(Meth) acrylsäure gewonnen wird.
3. Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Monomer (I) durch Umesterung aus einem (Meth) acrylat gewonnen wird.
4. Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Umesterungskatalysatoren Basen,
Br0nstedsäuren, Lewis-Säuren oder Enzyme verwendet werden .
5. Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Umesterungskatalysatoren
Alkalimetallalkoholate, bevorzugt Methanolate, Ethanolate, Propionate, iso-Propionate, Butanolate oder iso-Butanolate des Lithiums, Natriums oder Kaliums verwendet werden.
6. Verfahren gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Monomer oder Monomerengemisch (I) nach dem Syntheseschritt destillativ aufgereinigt wird.
7. Verfahren gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das
Monomerengemisch einen Anteil an Monomer (I) von mindestens 90 Gew% aufweist. Monomer, erhältlich aus einem Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das
Monomer eine der folgenden Formeln aufweist:
oder
wobei es sich bei R um Wasserstoff oder eine Methylgruppe, bei R2 um eine Alkylgruppe, bestehend aus 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen, und bei m um eine Zahl zwischen 0 und 10 handelt.
Monomer gemäß Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass es sich bei R1 und R2 jeweils um Methylgruppen handelt .
Verwendung eines Monomeren gemäß Anspruch 8 oder 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ein Monomer der Formel (II) und/oder (III) mit anderen Monomeren in einem Polymerisationsverfahren zu einem Polymer copolymerisiert , anschließend durch
Temperaturzufuhr eine Substanz (V) der Formel
polymeranalog abgespalten wird und am Polymer so Säuregruppen gebildet werden.
11. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 10, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, dass die polymeranaloge Abspaltung der Substanz in einem Extruder oder Kneter erfolgt.
12. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 10 oder 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die polymeranaloge Abspaltung durch Zugabe oder Vorliegen eines
Umesterungskatalysators beschleunigt wird.
13. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 10, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, dass es sich bei dem
Polymerisationsverfahren um eine anionische oder kontrolliert-radikalische Polymerisation handelt.
14. Verwendung eines Monomeren gemäß Anspruch 8 zur Copolymerisation mit (Meth) acrylaten und/oder mit mit (Meth) acrylaten copolymerisierbaren Monomeren.
15. Verwendung eines Monomeren (IV) gemäß Anspruch 8 zur Herstellung eines Lackbindemittels.
