Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an autonomous protection device for temporarily obstructing a passage such as a corridor, a door or a window.
  • Roller shutter type systems have also been proposed, particularly in FR2 360 073 , WO 94/20723 and FR 2 814 230 .
  • these systems also require mechanical fastening methods on the boards of the bays to be closed.
  • the present invention relates more particularly to a protective device for security personnel, such as law enforcement, police, gendarmerie or army, including groups of rapid interventions.
  • the purpose of the present invention is to provide a device for temporarily obstructing a passage such as a bay or a corridor to prevent or delay the crossing of this passage by consenting or non-consenting persons and / or to prevent the projection of objects through said device, in particular from the outside to the inside or from the inside to the outside when the device is placed against a door or window. More specifically, this type of device aims to prevent suicidal defenestration during the arrest of madmen, but also aims to channeling people by temporarily blocking certain passages, such as corridors, during demonstrations or crowds in public or private places.
  • an object of the present invention is to provide an autonomous protection device of this type which is easy and especially quick to fix and remove by the intervention personnel (hereinafter referred to as "operator”), this in order to reduce to a minimum the exposure time of the intervention personnel to the risks of projections and / or aggression during this installation of the device.
  • the present invention provides an autonomous protection device for temporarily blocking a passage such as a corridor, a door or a window characterized in that it comprises at least one longitudinally extendable bar, preferably a telescopic bar, actuable extension by a jack, said bar being adapted to be removably locked in extension between two wall surfaces defining said passage referred to as locking surfaces, said extensible bar supporting one or preferably a plurality of element (s) d ' obstruction to form a protective screen obstructing at said passage, preferably the one or more obstruction elements being removably attached thereto.

  • the device can be adapted to the existing walls without adaptation or transformation thereof.
  • blocking surfaces is understood here to mean surfaces which can be included in partitions or walls facing each other (parallel) forming a corridor delimiting a said passage or surfaces of frame uprights or door or window frames or preferably in the thickness portion of the wall or masonry surfaces of a frame of said door frame or window located outside the bay (usually called “table").
  • obstruction screen means a solid or preferably perforated surface, but whose openings do not allow the passage of an individual and / or reduce the risk of crossing said screen by projectiles of given dimensions, suitable for be thrown by hand, through said obstruction element and / or where appropriate between the various obstruction elements, including projectiles of the type launched by the demonstrators against the police.
  • said screen is formed by a single obstruction element made of foldable, preferably perforated, flexible material or a plurality of rigid obstruction elements which are solid but spaced from one another so as to form a perforated screen.
  • said screen will be constituted by a plurality of obstruction elements consisting of spaced rigid slats, preferably arranged parallel to each other and preferably perpendicular to said bar.
  • said screen will be made of a net or a solid sheet material, flexible, anti-ballistic property of the bulletproof textile complex type.
  • a perforated screen has a double advantage. First of all, its weight is reduced, its size of conditioning before use is reduced, and its wind resistance is reduced making it easy to pose outdoors in windy conditions. Second, it allows not to completely obscure the passage and therefore maintain a possibility of visual inspection of the situation by the operator on the other side of the screen.
  • said expandable bar may be positioned horizontally or vertically in the frame or the passage to be closed, and said one or more obstruction elements may be arranged transversely, perpendicularly to said bar.
  • the device according to the invention can be installed by positioning the said extensible bars or bars between the two blocking surfaces, then realizing the locking by extension of the longitudinal ends of the said bar or bars against said blocking surfaces.
  • the obstruction element or elements can be prefixed on said bar or bars in the case where it is a flexible material element such as a net or a complex textile material mentioned above which can be conditioned under folded form.

  • the device according to the invention in the form of a kit or set of elements ready to mount can be packaged with a small footprint which also contributes to facilitate its movement on site and its installation by the staff of 'intervention.
  • the device comprises a plurality of said obstruction elements consisting of rigid slats preferably of two to five slats.
  • said rigid slats are arranged parallel to each other and preferably perpendicularly to said bar.
  • said expandable bar is disposed along a transverse median axis of said obstruction element (s).
  • This type of single bar device requires a laying on a facade having a wall portion forming abutment wall located above and / or below said bar if it is disposed horizontally, or laterally if said bar is arranged vertically, so that the bar and the slats are prevented from pivoting because said slats abut at their end against said abutment wall.
  • this single bar device can be juxtaposed to a second single bar device with slats whose ends can be fixed, or preferably only fit into the ends of the slats of the first device.
  • This nesting constituting an obstacle to a pivoting said slats and bars of the two devices.
  • the two devices are arranged one above the other in the case of obstruction of a corridor between two vertical locking surfaces or one next to the other in the case where the two said locking surfaces are arranged horizontally one above the other.
  • the device comprises a single said expandable bar and a plurality of said obstruction elements consisting of rigid slats preferably of two to five slats arranged parallel to each other and perpendicular to said bar, said slats having an end with a female shape and the opposite end with a male complementary shape so that the male shape of the end of the slats of a first device can fit into the female form of a second identical device.
  • these rigid slats can be supported by a plurality of extensible bars, that is to say at least two extensible bars, arranged parallel to each other.
  • the device can be implemented without risk of pivoting slats even in the absence of upper or lower wall surface above or below the device, in particular the device can be implemented to obstruct a corridor .
  • said protective screen is a flexible material screen capable of being stretched with the aid of a tensioning element, on the one hand stretched between said tensioning element and said first stretchable bar and of on the other hand stretched between the 2 said locking surfaces, said screen being fixed on one of its sides to said bar and said tensioning element cooperating with the opposite end of said screen.
  • said screen made of flexible material consists of a net.
  • said tensioning element may be a rope or rope capable of being held by one or more operators.
  • said tensioning element is constituted by a second expandable bar.
  • said device comprises two said extensible bars and a flexible material screen capable of being stretched between the two said extensible bars to which two opposite sides of said screen are respectively fixed.
  • the passage to be obstructed requires the juxtaposition of several devices according to the invention, of the screen type of flexible material stretched between two said extensible bars, in particular for obstructing a corridor to a sufficient height, it implements a pre-mounted device with three extensible bars supporting two said screens, of the flexible material type, whose opposite sides of each screen are fixed to a said bar, with a median bar interposed between the adjacent sides of two superposed screens on which said middle bar said sides of the two superposed screens are fixed.
  • said expandable bar comprises a jack constituted by a tubular jack body and at least one telescopic jack rod extendable in the longitudinal direction of the tubular jack body, from the inside. outwardly of said cylinder body at one end of said cylinder body.
  • the jack may be a hydraulic cylinder, electric, or preferably a pneumatic cylinder given the qualities of lightness, small footprint and speed of action of a pneumatic actuation.
  • said stretchable bar comprises a pneumatic jack self powered by a compressed air cartridge, preferably at least 50 bar, adapted to allow the extension of said cylinder rod, preferably several times, more particularly two five times, said cartridge being rechargeable or replaceable.
  • the pressurization of the pneumatic cylinder can be done quickly by manual control such as pushing a button.
  • said telescopic bar is extensible by mechanical actuation, preferably manually and at least at one end pneumatically using a said cartridge.
  • the operator can perform a manual pre-adjustment of the extension of the cylinder rod or rods mechanically as a function of the approximate distance between the two locking surfaces by making an extension to a size smaller than the distance between the two. locking surfaces, before positioning the device between the two locking surfaces. Then, the operator can finalize the extension and locking of the cylinder rod or rods after placement of the device between the two blocking surfaces with a longitudinal end of the telescopic bar wedged against one of the two locking surfaces and blocking the second blocking surface by extending the extensible rod at the other end by implementing the cylinder pneumatically. It is therefore understood that the pneumatic cylinder serves only for the final blocking corresponding to an extension of relatively short length over a length of less than 10 cm or even less than 5 cm.
  • This embodiment has a double advantage.
  • the reduction of this exposure time is essential because it also corresponds to a time during which the operator is also positioned between the two blocking surfaces and can therefore be exposed to projectile jets and / or other endangerment by people located on the other side of the device and locking surfaces relative to the operator and wanting to oppose the establishment of the device is performed.
  • the second advantage is that the extension performed pneumatically being of relatively short length, it requires only a cartridge of less space. In practice, for a cylinder body about 5 to 10 cm in diameter and 80 to 110 cm, with a pneumatic extension of 5 to 10 cm, a Compressed air cartridge at 50 bar represents a footprint of 5 to 10 cm in length and 1 to 4 cm in diameter.
  • said pneumatic cylinder comprises a device for quick release of said bar, this quick release device comprising at least one purge valve whose opening allows to release compressed air injected into a first chamber inside said body cylinder from said cartridge.
  • said rapid release device comprises a second chamber inside the cylinder body and compressed air reserve in a third chamber, the release of the compressed air contained in said first chamber allowing the rapid retraction of at least one said cylinder rod caused by said reserve of compressed air contained in said third chamber and released in said second chamber because the pressure of the compressed air in said third chamber is greater than atmospheric pressure and lower at the pressure of the compressed air in said first chamber after injection of the compressed air contained in said cartridge before opening said purge valve.
  • said one or more obstruction elements are fixed on said removable bar removably and interchangeably.
  • said slat-shaped obstruction elements are themselves extensible in length in the longitudinal direction of the slats.
  • the slats consist of two slats of different lengths fixed and sliding against each other. It is understood that one can thus change the batten of greater length and adapt on the batten of smaller length of the large slats of different sizes from those they replace.
  • the said slats or solid panels or perforated massive can be made of various materials such as plastic, carbon, preferably Kevlar type, wood, metal, preferably aluminum.
  • the protection device represented on the Figure 1A , comprises a single extensible bar 2 on which are fixed, removably by clips (not shown), three rigid slats 4 disposed perpendicular to said expandable bar 2, substantially in their median portions.
  • the spacing 5-1 between the three slats 4 allows to open the screen 5a constituted by all three rigid slats 4.
  • the distance 5-1 between two successive slats is less than or equal to the width of a slat .
  • Each slat 4 is formed of two complementary slat elements 4a, 4b, nested one inside the other and sliding longitudinally one in the other.
  • the male element 4b protrudes from the female element 4a at both ends thereof.
  • the user can have several lengths of male elements 4b, so as to adapt them according to the dimensions of the opening of the passage to be obstructed with the device according to the invention.
  • the male element 4b protrudes only on one side, so that the batten comprises two distinct ends, a male upper end 4-1 and a lower female end 4-2. Given the height of the window on the board of which is installed the device on the Figure 1B a male element 4b protruding only on one side is sufficient.
  • this embodiment makes it possible to couple, in a juxtaposed manner, two devices one above the other to obstruct a corridor 10-2, as shown in FIG. figure 1C , by fitting the upper male ends 4-1 of the slats of the lower device 1b in the lower female ends 4-2 of the same upper device 1a according to the invention disposed above the device 1b.
  • the expandable bar 2 of the device is positioned, substantially halfway up the window table or nearby, in the outer thickness of the outer wall to the window 10-1.
  • the adjustment of the length of the slats 4 is necessary so that, as shown on the Figure 1B , the ends 4-1 and 4-2 of each batten 4 abut on an upper abutment wall 10c and, respectively, on a bottom abutment wall 10d, corresponding to the front portions located above and below the table of window 10-1.
  • These extensions slats above and below the table of the window can prevent the pivoting of the entire device, following manipulation by a person seeking to oppose this obstruction and trying to rotate the laths in rotation around the extensible bar 2 despite the blockages of end stops 5 against the lateral blocking surfaces 10a, 10b of the window panel.
  • the extensible bar 2 as shown on the figure 3 comprises a hollow tubular longitudinal body 3-1, enclosing two extensible rods 2-1 and 3-2, respectively at each end.
  • the first rod 2-1 at the left end is expandable and retractable by a mechanical device consisting of the combination of a manual actuating element 2-7 of a lug 2-8 cooperating with a plurality of notches or orifices 2-9, spaced along the length of the rod so as to adjust the extension length of the rod 2-1 and lock it to a given extension length.
  • a mechanical device consisting of the combination of a manual actuating element 2-7 of a lug 2-8 cooperating with a plurality of notches or orifices 2-9, spaced along the length of the rod so as to adjust the extension length of the rod 2-1 and lock it to a given extension length.
  • This first mechanical adjustment of the first rod 2-1 is manual and allows to preset the length of the expandable bar before the intervention, depending on the size of the table of the window 10-1 or the corridor 10-2 to be obstructed.
  • the second rod 3-2 at the other end of said bar which constitutes a pneumatic cylinder rod actuated by an onboard power supply consisting of a compressed air cartridge 3-3 fixed on said bar, may complete the extension. of the bar and ensure the blocking thereof against the two lateral blocking surfaces 10a and 10b of the table, under the effect of pneumatic pressure.
  • the tubular body 3-1 has at its end a closure 3-9, which has an orifice through which the second cylinder rod 3-2 can slide sealingly through O-rings 3-11 during the extension and retracting said second cylinder rod.
  • the internal cylindrical cavity of the tubular body 3-1 comprises a first fixed block 3-4 within it.
  • Said second cylinder rod 3-2 has at its inner end a second block 3-5 integral with said second cylinder rod and sliding therewith.
  • the first block 3-4 and the second block 3-5 delimit with the cylindrical wall of the tubular body of cylinder 3-1 a first chamber 2-3 of variable volume according to the position of the second block 3-5.
  • the second block 3-5 secured to the inner end of the second cylinder rod 3-2 defines, with the fixed closure block 3-9, a second chamber 2-4 of volume that varies inversely with that of the first chamber 2- 3 when the second block 3-5 slides inside the cylinder body 3-1.
  • the second block 3-5 abuts against the closure block 3-9 at the end of the cylinder body 3-1, when the second rod 3-2 is in maximum extension, the volume of the first chamber 2-3 being maximum while that of the second chamber 2-4 is zero.
  • the second block 3-5 abuts against the first block 3-4 when the second cylinder rod 3 is in maximum retraction, the volume of the second chamber 2-4 being maximum while that of the first chamber 2-3 is zero.
  • Said first block 3-4 also delimits a fourth chamber 2-2 between the end 2-1a of the rod 2-1 and said first block 3-4, which makes it possible to perform the first manual mechanical adjustment of the extension of the first rod 2-1.
  • V a , V c and V b are such that P b is 5 to 10 bar less than the pressure P a of the compressed air contained in the cartridge 3-3 injected into the first chamber 2-3, of the order from 50 to 150 bar
  • the cartridge 3-3 is actuated so as to inject compressed air into said first internal chamber 2-3 via an orifice 3-4a.
  • the increase of the pneumatic pressure in said first internal chamber 2-3 causes the sliding of the second block 3-5 and thus of the cylinder rod 3-2 in maximum extension.
  • this jack makes it possible to obtain a pressurization of the ends of the bars against the wall surfaces (called “blocking surfaces”) delimiting the passage to be obstructed, with a force of about 30kN greater than those generated by manually operable spring mechanisms described in the two documents cited.
  • Locking by jack is not only simpler, but it allows use as an anti-burglary security device, or even to prevent a defenestration, which distinguishes it from the uses envisaged in the two documents mentioned above.
  • the quick release of the expandable bar 2, for removal of the device after use, is also pneumatically as follows.
  • a bleed valve 3-8 of the first chamber 2-3 is opened so as to reduce the pressure in the first chamber 2-3, causing the second block 3-5 to move slidably within the body. tubular 3-1 and, therefore, the displacement of the cylinder rod 3-2 to abut against the first block 3-4 inside the tubular cylinder body 3-1.
  • This retraction of the cylinder rod 3-2 towards the inside of the cylinder body 3-1 is made by the compressed air contained in the internal reserve 3-6 of the cylinder rod 3-2 which via the openings 3-7 is introduced into the second chamber 2-4, disposed between the second block 3-5 and said end closure 3-9, at the end of the cylinder body 3-1.
  • the compressed air introduced into the second chamber 2-4 expels the second block 3-5 inwardly of the cylinder body 3-1 and thus causes the cylinder rod 3-2, which is secured thereto, to the inside. of the cylinder body 3-1, since the terminal closing block 3-9, through which slides the cylinder rod 3-2, is fixedly mounted.
  • the second block 3-5 slides sealingly through its O-rings 3-10 within the cylinder-wall cylinder body 3-1.
  • This self-locking and pneumatic locking system is both lighter, less cumbersome and faster to implement than mechanical systems, especially spring-loaded systems, not to mention the relatively low cost.
  • Cartridge 3-3 is sized to allow two to five extensions of the cylinder rod 3-2.
  • the extension stroke of the cylinder rod 3-2 is predetermined by the distance between the first block 3-4 and the closure block 3-9 at the end of the cylinder body 3-1. In general, this distance is provided over a length of a range of 5 to 10 cm.
  • the cylinder 3 consists of all the elements 3-1 to 3-11 mentioned above.
  • the set of extensions of the first rod 2-1 and the second rod 3-2 cylinder allows, in the model shown on the figure 3 , to increase the length of the expandable bar 2 by about 50% when the lug 2-8 cooperates with the first notch 2-9 (the notch 2-9 the leftmost on the figure 3 ).
  • the first rod 2-1 will be released, relative to the end of the body tubular 3-1, of a length identical to the maximum extension length of the cylinder rod 3-2 at the opposite end.
  • elastomer blocks 2-5 At the ends of the rods 2-1 and 3-2 are arranged elastomer blocks 2-5, with embossing elements 2-6 on their outer faces, so as to promote adhesion to the locking surfaces 10a, 10b. .
  • the operator descends from the roof of the building and arrives laterally at the window, above it, usually upside down. It positions the end of the first rod 2-1, previously set extension according to the width of the table, bearing against the surface 10b side of the table of the window 10-1. Then it realizes the locking of the bar 2 by extension of the cylinder rod 3-2 against the opposite blocking surface 10a of the window panel, releasing the compressed air contained in the cartridge 3-3 within said first room 2-3.
  • the device is pre-mounted with the slats 4 fixed on the expandable bar 2, so that the exposure time of the operator opposite the opening of the bay is reduced to maximum, especially in the case where it could be exposed to hostile aggressions on the other side of the window inside the building.

    - Verschlusselemente.
