Description

The present invention relates to a sink, in particular household sink, with at least one sink and a peripheral at the upper end of the sink rinse edge, which has at least partially a substantially flat area between the sink and the sink edge.

The sink according to the invention is a sink, in particular household sink, with at least one sink and a peripheral edge of the sink rinsing edge, which at least partially has a substantially planar area between the sink and the sink edge, wherein in the area a recess is provided, the is formed sufficiently deep for receiving at least one substantially standing-upright household dishwashing brush and optionally other cleaning items.

The sink according to the invention provides that said flat area between sink and sink edge is lowered relative to the latter. In this way, embodiments of the sink according to the invention can be realized in which it is possible to dispense entirely with an otherwise regularly required overflow opening in the region of the sink, since overflowing rinse water due to the lowered area first reaches the depression before it can rise above the sink rim.

In this context, it is then further provided that in the bottom region of the recess, an overflow opening for draining from the sink overflowing rinse water is arranged. Preferably, the overflow opening is dimensioned such that it ensures a sufficient overflow flow of preferably 12 l / min.

In order that, in particular, an overflow opening arranged in the bottom area of the depression can not be blocked by a domestic dishwashing brush and optionally further cleaning appliances stored in the recess, another development of the sink according to the invention provides that a sieve element (drainage sieve) is arranged in front of the overflow opening. This should be designed to ensure a sufficient overflow flow of preferably 12 l / min, even when housed in the depression cleaning items.

The sink according to the invention provides that the overflow opening is fluidly connected to a drain of the sink. In this context, "drainage of the sink" is understood to mean, in particular, that flushing sequence which is in fluidic connection with a drain opening arranged at the bottom of the sink.

The sink according to the invention provides that an edge of the recess is increased at least in sections relative to the flat area between the sink rim and sink. Such a recess edge can serve for placing a cover element which closes the recess opening in an aesthetically pleasing manner, in particular if cleaning objects are mounted in the depression.

In order to ensure this operation safely, the sink according to the invention provides that the edge of the lid element defines a covering surface which has an excess over a surface defined by the outer edge of the recess edge. Thus, it is not possible that the lid member fully rests with its edge sealingly against the outer edge of the recess edge and thereby closes the fluid connection between the sink and overflow opening.

In order additionally to avoid such a disadvantageous effect, another development of the sink according to the invention provides that the lid element has a centering structure which cooperates with the depression, preferably with its inner edge, for centering the lid element. By means of said centering structure it is ensured that the cover element can be placed on the depression opening only in such a way that sufficient space remains between the edge of the depression and the edge of the cover for a flushing water overflowing through it.

A particularly preferred development of the sink according to the invention provides that the depression is designed in the form of a container which is preferably attached from below to the sink and is open on one side. In this context, the sink in the said flat area between the sink and sink edge has an opening whose dimensions substantially correspond to the container opening. The container may be permanently or removably attached to the actual sink in the region of the opening.

Alternatively, however, the depression may also be formed in one piece or in one piece with the rest of the sink, in particular in the same material as the rest of the sink, which, however, under certain circumstances adversely affects the production costs.

If the depression is designed in the form of a container attached in the above-mentioned manner to the rest of the sink, this container is preferably made of a plastic material. In addition, this plastic material may have antibacterial finish to prevent excessive growth of harmful or unsightly bacterial cultures when storing regularly wet cleaning articles.

In addition, or instead of the addressed cover element, a suspension bowl, a hanging screen or the like can be arranged in the region of the depression, so that the mentioned depression gains an additional useful value.

FIG. 1 shows a sink according to the invention, which is designated in its entirety by the reference numeral 1, in the installed state.
