This is due to the fact that when the fuel flow rate goes beyond an optimal range that depends on the material, from the specific passage area (rate between the passage area and the wall area) and from the resistance to the diffuser flow, there occur flame instability problems that impair the proper burner operation.
  • Such phenomenon of detachment of the flame from the diffuser is particularly important at the diffuser ends that are connected to the frame due to temperature that, in such areas, is unavoidably lower.
