Definitions
- the present invention relates to a mounting device for a recessed or surface-mounted ceiling light.
- the present invention relates to a mounting device for installing a so-called downlight in the ceiling.
- Mounting devices of this type are already known and are manufactured and offered in a wide variety of embodiments. They are used to make the installation of lights in suspended ceilings easier or more comfortable.
- 10 shows a system for ceiling installation, as is currently being sold by the applicant. In this case, a built-in light in the form of a so-called downlight 100 is to be installed in the opening 111 of a suspended ceiling 110 .
- the assembly is made possible by an annular mounting frame 101 which is first inserted into the opening 111 of the ceiling 110 .
- the frame 101 has an outwardly facing flange 102 which abuts the underside of the ceiling 110 .
- These clamping elements 105 each have a support arm 106 which can be pivoted outwards and comes into contact with the upper side of the ceiling 110 in a final assembly position.
- the support arm 106 is slightly flexible, so that the built-in frame 101 is fixed to the ceiling due to the resulting spring force.
- the lamp 100 can then be inserted into the frame 101 and locked there, for example by means of a bayonet catch.
- the assembly device essentially consists of an installation frame and a plurality of tensioning or spring elements located thereon, with the spring elements each being rotatably held on the installation frame.
- Each spring element consists of a first part in the form of a flexible tongue and a second part in the form of a retaining element.
- This retaining element has snap hooks which, in a final assembly position of the spring element, into which it is brought by rotation, interact with corresponding latching elements of the installation frame. After inserting the mounting frame in the opening of a suspended ceiling, the spring elements must be turned into the mounting position and snapped in there.
- a mounting device for a recessed ceiling light which has a mounting frame and a holding element with a support body which rests on the ceiling in a mounting position and thereby fixes the mounting frame in the ceiling.
- the holding member further includes a holding plate, and a moving member which is moved up and down relative to the holding plate by means of a screw; the support body is pivotably mounted on the moving element.
- a holding device for fastening recessed ceiling lights in which the light housing is supported on a support profile with a height-adjustable swivel arm.
- the swivel arm is attached to a carriage that can be moved towards the lower edge of the housing.
- a device for fastening a built-in light in which the light housing is clamped to a ceiling support with a swivel bracket.
- a problem with the previously known mounting devices for the installation of recessed or surface-mounted ceiling lights is that with different ceiling thicknesses, the force with which the mounting frame is held on the ceiling changes. Differences in ceiling thicknesses can only be compensated to a limited extent, which means that the luminaire cannot be optimally installed in all installation situations. Furthermore, the known clamping elements of such assembly devices are designed to be relatively large.
- a mounting device is from EP 0 870 982 A2 famous.
- the object of the present invention is to further develop known solutions for the installation of recessed or surface-mounted ceiling lights.
- the system should consist of as few parts as possible in order to avoid the loss of individual parts during assembly on a construction site or during transport.
- the solution according to the invention is in turn based on the idea of using clamping elements for fixing the mounting frame to the ceiling, which have a pivotable support arm which rests at least partially on the ceiling in an assembly position.
- the support arm can be brought into the mounting position in at least two different height positions and locked there.
- a mounting device for a recessed ceiling light or a surface-mounted ceiling light is accordingly proposed with an installation frame for insertion into the opening of a Ceiling is intended and has means for holding the lamp, and at least one clamping element which has a pivotable support arm, the support arm resting at least partially on the ceiling in a mounting position and thereby fixed the mounting frame in the ceiling. It is provided according to the invention that the support arm can be brought into the assembly position in at least two different height positions.
- the tensioning element has a holding element which is to be fastened to the mounting frame, the support arm being pivotable relative to this holding element. Furthermore, the tensioning element has a fixing element which is mounted on the holding element such that it can pivot about an axis and forms a holder and a guide for the support arm. The fixing element is locked in the mounting position of the support arm with the holding element.
- the support arm can now be adjusted between two different positions along the fixing element, with the fixing element preferably being latched to the support arm in a first position.
- this latching between the support arm and the fixing element is automatically released if the support arm comes into contact with the ceiling before reaching the assembly position.
- the various components of the assembly device according to the invention are preferably made of metal.
- the mounting device according to the invention consists, as already mentioned, essentially of two different components, an annular installation frame 2 and clamping elements 10 fixing the frame 2 in a ceiling opening 1 only a single tensioning element 10 is shown, but the installation frame 2 is usually fixed with the aid of several, for example three, tensioning elements 10.
- the present invention is not limited to the ring-shaped installation frame shown. Frames of a different design, for example square or rectangular frames, could also be fixed to a ceiling with the aid of the clamping elements 10 .
- the mounting frame 2 itself has, in a known manner, a peripheral and outwardly pointing flange 3 which is intended to rest against the underside of a ceiling.
- a peripheral wall 4 extends from the inside of the flange 3 to the top, which protrudes into the installation opening of a ceiling and has a plurality of recesses 5 which are provided, for example, for inserting the clamping elements 10 or other add-on elements.
- guide tracks 6 and stops 7 are also formed on the inside of the peripheral wall 4, with the aid of which a bayonet connection can be achieved with the lamp to be fastened to the frame 2.
- a clamping element 10 according to the invention is shown in a delivery state. In this position, a support arm 20 of the clamping element 10 intended to rest against the ceiling does not protrude beyond the outer circumference of the mounting frame 2, so that the frame 2 with the clamping elements 10 located thereon can be easily inserted from the underside into the opening in the ceiling can.
- the clamping element 10 consists of three assembled parts, a support arm 20, a fixing element 30 and a holding element 40.
- the support arm 20 is formed angled into three sections 21, 22 and 23, with the first and the third section 21, 23 enclosing an obtuse angle between them.
- the first section 21 is intended to rest against the top of the ceiling and has corresponding bearing projections 21a and 21b. It has a certain flexibility in order to be able to hold the mounting frame 2 in the ceiling with a corresponding clamping force.
- bends 24 and free punchings 25 are formed, the function of which will be explained in more detail later.
- the fixing element 30 is essentially flat and has a somewhat widened end region 31, which is adjoined by an elongated, somewhat narrower region 32 which—as explained later—forms a guide bar.
- Three openings 33, 34 and 35 of different shapes and sizes are formed in the fixing element 30 over the entire length, with a substantially triangular tab 36 projecting towards the top being formed adjacent to the first opening 33.
- the holding element 40 is intended for use in the previously mentioned recesses 5 in the peripheral wall 4 of the installation frame 2 . It is also used for the pivotable mounting of the fixing element 30 and the support arm 20 arranged thereon and is designed to latch with the fixing element 30 in the assembly positions that will be explained in more detail later.
- an angled latching tongue 41 is formed, which also has an approximately square free punching 42 .
- Another free punching 43 with a laterally protruding tongue 44 is formed in the lower central area, via which clamping and thus reliable retention in the recess 5 of the installation frame 2 is achieved.
- the holding element 40 has arms 45 that protrude laterally and are angled at their end regions, as well as lateral feet 46 in each case.
- a bent tab 47 is formed on the underside of the holding element 40, via which a pivotable mounting of the fixing element 30 is achieved.
- these three elements 20, 30 and 40 are, as already mentioned, to the in the Figures 2a to 2c configuration shown.
- the tab 47 of the holding element 40 reaches through the opening 35 of the fixing element 30, so that this - as indicated by the double arrow in Figure 2b indicated - relative to the holding element 40 by the in Figure 2a Axis A shown can be pivoted.
- the fixing element 30 is arranged at a right angle to the holding element 40 .
- the bends 24 and free punchings 25 formed at the end of the third section 23 of the support arm 20 are now designed in such a way that the narrower section 32 of the fixing element 30, which forms the guide web, can be guided through the free punchings 25.
- the guide bar 32 thereby forms a guide along which the support arm 20 can be moved between two end positions.
- the guidance is further improved in that the tab 36 protrudes into an angled recess 26 of the support arm 20 .
- the support arm 20 In the delivery state of the clamping element, which is in the 1 and 2a to 2c is shown, the support arm 20 is in a first position with respect to the fixing element 30 , which is defined by a tongue 27 of the support arm 20 formed in the area of the punched-out area 25 protruding into the opening 34 of the fixing element 30 . The support arm 20 is thus latched to the fixing element 30 in this position.
- This first position of the support arm 20 also corresponds to a position that is suitable for ceiling installation with ceiling thicknesses in the range of up to about 12.5 mm.
- This dimension corresponds to the standard dimension for so-called suspended ceilings made of plasterboard or Rigips.
- the mounting frame 2 provided with the clamping elements 10 located thereon is then first inserted from the underside into the opening 111 of the ceiling 110 .
- the fixing element 30 with the support arm 20 located on it and locked in the first position is pushed into the in 4 mounting position shown pivoted, wherein the Figures 5a to 5c show the clamping element 10 on its own.
- first guide edges 48 are formed on the feet 46 of the holding element 40 and serve as guide aids for the support arm 20 . These guide edges 48 work in particular with laterally protruding foot segments 28 of the third section 23 of the support arm 20 together.
- the first section 21 of the support arm 20 is in 4 mounting position shown on the top of the ceiling 110 or a force acts on it, so that the mounting frame 2 is fixed in the ceiling 110.
- the height position of the support arm 20 is such that the force exerted by the arm 20 on the top of the Cover 110 corresponds to a desired clamping force.
- the support arm 20 can be moved to a second position in the Figures 6 and 7a to 7c is shown. Again, the assembly position, in which the fixing element 30 is latched to the retaining element 40, is shown, the latching between the two parts 30, 40 also taking place via the tabs 36 and 41 in this case. However, the support arm 20 is now in a somewhat higher position, in which the foot segments 28 are in the area of a further, upper guide aid 49 which is formed by the lower edge of the arms 45 . The bends 24 of the support arm 20 are also in contact with shoulder surfaces 37 of the fixing element 30 (see FIG Figure 7b ) and thereby limit further displacement of the support arm 20. In this second position, the support arm 20 is accordingly fully extended and it is possible to securely and reliably fix the mounting frame 2 with ceiling thicknesses of up to 25 mm.
- the tongue 27 of the support arm 20 is pushed back with the aid of a tool in order to release the securing device between the support arm 20 and the fixing element 30 that is effective in the first position.
- the support arm 20 can then be manually pulled into the upper or second position.
- the fixing element 30 together with the support arm 20 can also be pivoted until the first section 21, as shown in FIG 8 comes to rest on the top of the ceiling. If the fixing element 30 is now pivoted further in the direction of the holding element 40 or is pressed with force, the tongue 27 automatically releases from the latching with the opening 34 of the fixing element 30. The arm 20 is then positioned as shown in FIG 9 automatically shifted to the second position and the fixing element 30 can finally be brought into the assembly position and locked with the holding element 40, as already shown in 6 was shown. In this case, therefore, the appropriate position of the arm 20 with regard to the thickness of the ceiling is automatically set.
- the present invention thus opens up the possibility of optimally fixing mounting frames for mounting recessed or surface-mounted ceiling lights, even with ceilings of different thicknesses.
- the assembly work to be carried out here can be carried out with little effort.

Description
Downlights. The present invention relates to a mounting device for a recessed or surface-mounted ceiling light. In particular, the present invention relates to a mounting device for installing a so-called downlight in the ceiling.
The assembly is made possible by an

A problem with the previously known mounting devices for the installation of recessed or surface-mounted ceiling lights is that with different ceiling thicknesses, the force with which the mounting frame is held on the ceiling changes. Differences in ceiling thicknesses can only be compensated to a limited extent, which means that the luminaire cannot be optimally installed in all installation situations. Furthermore, the known clamping elements of such assembly devices are designed to be relatively large.

The object is achieved by a mounting device for a recessed or surface-mounted ceiling light with the features of
The solution according to the invention is in turn based on the idea of using clamping elements for fixing the mounting frame to the ceiling, which have a pivotable support arm which rests at least partially on the ceiling in an assembly position. In order to open up the possibility of achieving optimal mounting of the mounting frame with different ceiling thicknesses, it is provided that the support arm can be brought into the mounting position in at least two different height positions and locked there.
According to the invention, a mounting device for a recessed ceiling light or a surface-mounted ceiling light is accordingly proposed with an installation frame for insertion into the opening of a Ceiling is intended and has means for holding the lamp, and at least one clamping element which has a pivotable support arm, the support arm resting at least partially on the ceiling in a mounting position and thereby fixed the mounting frame in the ceiling. It is provided according to the invention that the support arm can be brought into the assembly position in at least two different height positions.
Due to the possibility of bringing the support arm into the mounting position in different positions, it is achieved that the clamping force exerted by the support arm is essentially retained even with different ceiling thicknesses. This simplifies the assembly of the lamp and also ensures that reliable mounting is guaranteed at all times.
In this case, the tensioning element has a holding element which is to be fastened to the mounting frame, the support arm being pivotable relative to this holding element. Furthermore, the tensioning element has a fixing element which is mounted on the holding element such that it can pivot about an axis and forms a holder and a guide for the support arm. The fixing element is locked in the mounting position of the support arm with the holding element.
The support arm can now be adjusted between two different positions along the fixing element, with the fixing element preferably being latched to the support arm in a first position. According to a particularly preferred exemplary embodiment, it is also provided that this latching between the support arm and the fixing element is automatically released if the support arm comes into contact with the ceiling before reaching the assembly position. As will be explained in detail later, this means that the clamping element automatically adapts to the thickness of the slab. Ultimately, a particularly simple and convenient installation of a recessed ceiling light or a surface-mounted ceiling light is achieved in this way.
The various components of the assembly device according to the invention, in particular the mounting frame and the individual elements of the clamping element are preferably made of metal.

In
The mounting
As can be seen from the illustrations, the clamping
The
In contrast, the fixing
The holding

The

In this first assembly position, the
