It has been found that such an alloy exhibits advantageous properties, such as good thermal conductivity, light weight, and appropriate strength and stiffness. Furthermore, it has surprisingly been found that it is possible to manufacture a substrate of such a soleplate made of such an alloy that maintains a good connection with the heating element it covers. Besides, the alloy is sufficiently corrosion resistant. However, in embodiments of the invention, the substrate of the soleplate may further be protected by layers of different materials like silicon based coatings, anodized layers, etc.

Claims (10)
- Grundplatte für ein Bügeleisen aufweisend ein elektrisches Heizelement, welches in einem Grundplattensubstrat eingebaut ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Substrat (2) der Grundplatte (15) aus einer Legierung hergestellt ist, welche Magnesium als Hauptelement aufweist und zusätzlich Aluminium umfasst.
- Grundplatte nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Substrat (2) der Grundplatte (15) aus der AZ91 D-Legierung hergestellt ist.
- Grundplatte nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Substrat (2) der Grundplatte (15) mit einer Bügelseite (1) aus einem verschiedenen Material versehen ist.
- Grundplatte nach Anspruch 3, in welcher die genannte Bügelseite (1) ein getrenntes Element ist, welches mit dem Substrat (2) durch Befestigungsmittel (4, 5, 6) verbunden ist.
- Grundplatte nach Anspruch 3, in welcher die genannte Bügelseite (1) eine Beschichtung ist, welche auf dem Substrat (2) vorgesehen ist.
- Bügeleisen umfassend eine Grundplatte nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche.
- Bügeleisen nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Grundplatte (15) einen integrierten Dampferzeuger (12) umfasst.
- Bügeleisen nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Bügeleisen zusätzlich einen getrennten Dampferzeuger (10) und ein getrenntes Heizelement (11) umfasst.
- Bügeleisen nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der genannte getrennte Dampferzeuger (10) aus einer Magnesiumlegierung hergestellt ist, wobei die genannte Legierung auch Aluminium umfasst.
- Bügeleisen nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der getrennte Dampferzeuger (10) aus der AZ91 D-Legierung hergestellt ist.
