Abstract

The device has a pair of tongs (5) with two heatable arms (7, 7') connected together by a joint. Description

The invention relates to a heatable hair styling device with a pair of pliers with two heatable arms connected to each other via a hinge according to the preamble of claim 1, as for example from the generic EP 1 417 905 A1 as known.

For shaping hair hair styling devices (so-called multi-styling devices) are known, which allow on the one hand, the curls, on the other hand, the smoothing of hair. Such devices include a pair of pliers with two heatable arms connected to one another and pivotable relative to each other. The arms have on their mutually facing inner surfaces on a substantially flat heating surface; the outer surfaces of the arms are designed so that they form a cylindrical portion in the closed state of the pliers. From the CH 603 105 A5 a hair styling device is known which, in addition to a first handle portion, a rotatably mounted with respect to this second handle portion, and a holding member at the top of the device. From the US 4,695,704 A a curling iron is known, which has a relation to the hot rod thermally insulated gripping tip.

To facilitate the user's holding and guiding the hair styling device, the ends of the arms facing away from the forceps joint are provided with gripping tips, which are thermally insulated from the heatable arms. These gripper tips are immovably attached to the arms of the hair styling device. If the hair styling device is used as a curling iron, the hair styling device is rotated about the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical portion formed by the arms, resulting in a multiple handle change of the Gripping tip holding hand requires. According to the invention, the gripping point comprises two halves, wherein in the open state of the pliers a gripper tip half is assigned to each of the two arms. 1. Heatable hairstyling appliance (1, 1'),
