Definitions
- the invention relates to an axle assembly for two-wheelers, in particular for bicycles, wherein the axle assembly comprises a quick-release axle with an insertable in the end of a fork, a rocker, a rear end or the like holder support shaft as a support member for a hub and wherein the axis is a threaded end and on other end has a quick release with a clamping lever.
- the invention also relates to a clamping holder with a quick release, an axle and a lock nut, wherein the axis has a threaded end and at the other end the quick release with a clamping lever, in particular for an axle assembly for two-wheelers, especially for bicycles.
- Such clamping brackets are known, for example, in the case of quick-release axles but also in the case of clamped fasteners, for example the seatpost.
- Quick-release axles have the advantage that they can be mounted and removed without tools, in each case only the clamping lever is to be operated.
- a fail-safe is prescribed at least for front wheels, which prevents the front wheel from the fork when the quick release is open.
- the advantages of the quick release axles in favor of safety are partially lifted.
- the lock nut of the quick release must be held with one hand, so that with the other hand, the axis of the quick release on the lever something can be unscrewed further.
- Object of the present invention is to provide an axle assembly for two-wheelers of the type mentioned, in which the handling during disassembly and assembly of the quick-release axle or the wheel is simplified, while a correct positioning of the axle assembly and a secure connection with the fork, a rocker, a rear end or the like holder are possible.
- one of the Receiving ends of the fork, the rocker, the rear end or the like holder or connectable to the receiving end intermediate carrier part has a screw thread for screwing a threaded end of the axle.
- This can be screwed in the mounting of the wheel after insertion of the hub with the quick-release axle in the receiving ends of the fork, the rocker, the rear end or the like holder, the screwed end of the axle in the screw, this can be done with one hand, while the other hand is available for holding the two-wheeler in a suitable, aligned position.
- the correct, correct positioning of the axis in the receiving ends of the fork is thereby substantially simplified.
- a sliding limit is expediently provided for the hub cross-axis, preferably an attached to the axis, located within the hub stop.
- an adjusting ring can be mounted on the axle, which is arranged so that the axle can move out of the hub far enough that the screwed-in end of the axle can be screwed out of the screw-in thread.
- the stop on the side facing the quick release is inside of the hub.
- the stopper is designed so that the quick-release axle rotates in the hub and can be moved axially within a certain range.
- a particularly advantageous further development of the invention provides that the screw-in thread of the receiving end or into the screw-in thread of the intermediate carrier part connected to the dropout, an adjustable stop, is provided for limiting the screw-in depth of the axis thread end m. This contributes significantly to the fact that the attachment of the quick release axle is repeated with the appropriate tension and thus a secure connection is created. The correct position for the quick release must therefore not be sought by trying and more or less screwing the axis m the screw thread, but the quick release is simply screwed in until the stop once set and the clamping lever is then transferred to fix the wheel.
- the stop for limiting the depth of engagement of the axle threaded end m the screw thread is suitably formed by a stop screw, which is preferably screwed into the screw thread for screwing in the axle threaded end or m an axially subsequent thread.
- an intermediate carrier part with a screw thread for the axle Be provided threaded end instead of the screw thread directly in the receiving end of the fork, the rocker, the rear end or the like bracket, an intermediate carrier part with a screw thread for the axle Be provided threaded end.
- the intermediate carrier part may in particular be a threaded bush with internal and external threads or a stepped bush with an internal thread.
- the internal threads in each case form the screw thread for the axle-threaded end, while the external thread or the gradation is used to connect to the receiving end.
- an adapter part may be provided, which serves for receiving the axle-Gewmdeendes or the intermediate carrier part and on the other hand is connectable to the receiving end.
- the adapter part thus has connection means for connection to an intermediate carrier part or a screw-in thread for the axle-end of the trunk and also connecting means for fixing to the receiving end of the fork, the rocker, the rear construction or the like holder.
- the adapter part is provided directly with a screw-in thread for the axle-threaded end, the adapter part also forms an intermediate carrier part.
- the adapter part can be screwed, glued or otherwise fastened on the outside at the receiving end.
- the adapter part can also be a modified lock nut with mounting option at the receiving end.
- the respectively provided attachment and support of the threaded part on the outside at the receiving end serves to fix the position, ie keeps the adapter part in the intended position and secures it to rotate when screwing in the axle end of the trunk or an intermediate carrier part.
- a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the intermediate carrier part is designed as a simple lock nut, the lock nut a central Screw-in thread for the axle threaded end and a stop screw is screwed directly into the central screw thread.
- means are provided for securing and / or complicating a rotational movement of the stop screw in the lock nut. The once set stop position remains thereby safe.
- an intermediate bushing part which can be screwed into a receiving thread of the receiving part or of the adapter part, which has an external fastening thread and an internal thread as a screw-in thread for screwing in the axle threaded end.
- the threaded bushing can be dimensioned so that on the one hand a sufficient screwing depth for the axis thread end is present and on the other hand so that from the outside of the stop for limiting the depth of engagement of the axle threaded end can be screwed.
- the adapter part can have a receiving thread for the threaded bush having an outside fastening thread which has the screw-in thread for screwing in the axle threaded end.
- the threaded bushing is screwed into the adapter part, into which in turn the axial thread end and a stop screw can be screwed.
- the rotational position of the quick release lever is adjustable.
- the quick-release lever In its closed position, the quick-release lever should always point backwards or forwards in relation to the direction of travel, so that this lever does not get stuck in the scrub, for example, and then there is a risk that it will be unintentionally opened while driving.
- the fastening thread of the intermediate carrier part or the threaded bushing in the same direction and m its slope may be different or opposite directions and optionally in its pitch different from the screw thread for the axle-threaded end.
- both the rotational position of the clamping lever and the clamping force of the quick release can be adjusted.
- the quick release at m the threaded bush screwed axle-threaded end can be rotated so far until a suitable position with respect to the rotational position of the clamping lever is set.
- the threaded bushing can be rotated until the axial position of the axle fits for an intended clamping force of the quick-release.
- a stop screw which can be screwed into the threaded bushing and which can be designed as a threaded pin this screwing depth of the axle threaded end is then determined.
- the set parts can be secured, so that the system can then be operated very easily with one hand.
- a particularly advantageous embodiment provides an intermediate carrier part which is designed to m axial tensile direction of the axis form-fitting, rotatable in the direction of rotation connecting or holding with the receiving end or the adapter part and has at least one arrival or shaping.
- the intermediate carrier part is designed as a stepped bushing, which has an externally applied to the receiving end or the adapter part stop collar as a formation or shaping and the screw thread for the clamping axis.
- the clamping lever of the quick release against a predetermined holding torque can be rotatably connected to the axis.

- Fig. 6 is an enlarged detail view of FIG. 5 in the region of the screwed-in axle threaded end.
- a m the figures shown axis assembly 1,1a, 1b has a quick-release axle or clamping bracket 2, which is inserted into the dropouts 3, 4 of a fork 5 of a bicycle, especially a bicycle.
- This axle assembly can m both a fork 5 for a front wheel and on a rocker or on the rear for a rear wheel of a bicycle or the like two-wheeler can be used.
- the axle assembly is described 1,1a, 1b in conjunction with the fork for a front wheel.
- the receiving ends of a fork for a front wheel are called dropouts.
- the quick-release axle 2 has an axle 6 as a carrier part for a rotatable hub 7.
- the axis 6 has at one end a thread 8 and at the other end a quick release 9 with a clamping lever 10.
- the clamping lever 10 is located in the representations m clamping position and can be pivoted to release the quick-release axle.
- the other dropout 4 is connected via a screw with the axis 6.
- a threaded bushing 13 is provided, which has an external fastening thread 14 and an internal thread as screw-in thread 15 for screwing in the axle threaded end 16.
- the threaded bushing 13 is screwed with its outer fastening thread 14 m provided in the dropout 4 receiving thread 17.
- connection region of the axis 6 with the dropout 4 in an enlarged view m Fig. 2 can be seen.
- stop screw 19 is screwed in the screw thread 15 of the threaded bushing 13 .
- This stop screw 19 and the threaded bushing 13 each have a point of attack for rotating, wherein in the exemplary embodiment in each case externally accessible inner hexagonal edge 20, 21 for matching hexagon socket Keys are provided.
- the use of the threaded bush 13 has the advantage that not only the exact clamping position by means of the stop screw 19 is adjustable, but also the matching rotational position of the axis 6, m of the clamping lever 10 of the quick release 9 m reference to the direction of travel of the bicycle to the rear.
- the thread 8 of the axle 6 with associated screw thread 15 in the threaded bushing 13 are preferably designed as a right-hand thread, while the receiving thread 17 are formed in the dropout 4 with associated fastening thread 14 of the bushing 13 as left-hand thread.
- Adjusting the correct clamping position of the axis 6 and the matching rotational position with the rearwardly facing clamping lever 10 can then be made by first the axle 6 is screwed into the screwed into the dropout 4 threaded bushing 13. This screwing takes place into a position which corresponds approximately to the appropriate end position near the stop, the stop screw 19 does not come to rest against the front end 18 of the shaft 6. In this threaded position, the clamping lever 10 are already brought into the intended rotational position. To set the appropriate clamping position is then, if the voltage when moving the clamping lever 10 is not sufficient, the threaded bushing 13 is rotated clockwise, moving axially outwardly due to their left-hand thread. At the same time is also due to the rotational movement of the threaded bush
- Em sinkeit the clamping position of the axis 6 is provided, the rotational position of the axis 6 and thus the clamping lever 10, however, does not matter.
- the axis 6 is also screwed as far into the screw thread 15 of the dropout 4 until the appropriate clamping position is reached.
- the stop screw 19 is then screwed against the outer end face 18 of the shaft 6, so that then this matching clamping position is fixed.
- FIG. 5 and 6 show a further embodiment of an axle assembly 1b with a clamping bracket 2, in which instead of a threaded bushing 13 as an intermediate support part a stepped sleeve 22 or a lock nut is provided with a stop collar 28, which thereby inserted in the axial direction positively m the dropout 4 is and is rotatable m rotation direction.
- the lock nut in this case has a flat over the entire cross-section stop collar 28 and can be used in conjunction with a flat dropout.
- the step sleeve 22 or the lock nut has a screw thread 15 for the axis-threaded end 16, wherein here the stop screw 19 is screwed from the outside into the screw thread 15.
- both the setting of a clamping position for a correct clamping force and the adjustment of the rotational position of the quick release lever 10 is possible. It is particularly advantageous that completely independent of the correct rotational position of the lever initially only the clamping position can be adjusted and fixed by means of the stop screw 19. Subsequently, the axis 6 can then be adjusted in the direction of rotation by rotating the stepped sleeve 22 until the clamping lever 10 points in the correct position. The clamping position remains unaffected. Conveniently, the adjustment of the rotational position is made with open quick release 9.
- an O-ring 23 is provided in a groove 24 of the stepped sleeve 22, which has frictional contact with the fixed dropout 4.
- Comparable means for securing and / or complicating a rotational movement can also be provided in the threaded bushing 13 and the stop screw 19.
- the dropout 4 is either provided with a screw-in thread 15 (FIGS. 3 and 4) or a receiving thread 17 (FIGS. 1 and 2) or has special formations to be able to receive a stepped bushing 22.
- a not shown in the figures adapter part can be provided that is connectable to the dropout of the fork and on the other hand connecting means for connecting to a, for example by a threaded bushing 13 or a stepped sleeve 22 or The same formed intermediate carrier part or directly has a screw thread for the axle-threaded end 16.
- the adapter part thus creates the connection between the different screwing or attachment points of the axle-threaded end 16 and the dropout 4 remaining the fork 5.
- each hexagon edge provided for inserting a hexagon socket wrench is provided from the outside.
- a sliding limit 26 for the axis 6 can be seen, which may be formed by a fixed to the axis 6 stop, for example, a collar 27.
- This sliding limit 26 is positioned so that the axle-wedge end 16 can be retracted approximately to the lateral hub boundary, but does not fall out of the hub as a whole.
- stop position is the sliding limit 26 and the adjusting ring 27th inside on the hub 7 at.
