- Method for producing a sealing strip roll (2) employing the following steps:Preparing a length of open-cell cellular material (4);Impregnating (20) the cellular material (4) in order to prevent the cellular material (4) from reverting to its original shape after being released from compression;Rolling up (22) the length of cellular material into a wide roll and cutting (24) this wide roll into narrow sealing strip rolls, whereby each sealing strip has a rectangular cross-section, together with an upper side, a lower side and two side ends, which form the side ends of the sealing strip roll:characterised by:Unrolling (26) each sealing strip from the sealing strip roll and attaching it together with the complete adherence (28) of a thin closed layer (8) of a flexible or film type coating of 0.002 mm to 0.5 mm onto at least one side of the cellular material (4) while the latter in not in a compressed state; andrewinding (30) the strip of cellulose material (4) containing the thin, closed layer (8) into a sealing strip roll (2), in which the cellular material (4) is in a partially compressed state.
- Method according to Claim 1 above characterised in that the step of applying and adhering (28) the thin, closed layer (8) incorporates the thermal application of a hot adhesive film.
- Method according to Claim 1 above characterised in that the step of applying and adhering (28) the thin, closed layer (8) incorporates the adhesion of a layer of plastic film or of a closed-cell cellular material.
- Method according to Claim 2 above characterised in that the step of applying and adhering (28) the thin, closed layer (8) incorporates the application of a self-adhesive film that is sticky at least on the side facing the cellular material (4).
- Method according to Claim 1 above characterised in that the step of applying and adhering (28) the thin, closed layer (8) incorporates spraying a polyurethane compound, which on hardening, firmly bonds with the cellular material (4).
- Method according to Claim 5 above characterised in that the step of spraying the closed layer of polyurethane compound consists in spraying the polyurethane compound in an area mass density of between 20 g/m2 and 150 g/m2 on the side of the cellular material (4), thus dispensing with the need for an expansion agent.
