Definitions

  • the invention relates to a conveying device for the transfer and transfer of printed products, with a feed conveyor, with the occasional printed products are successively transportable in a transfer area and with an intermediate conveyor with which the printed products from the transfer area are transportable to a transfer area and along an endless circulating path a plurality of conveying elements, with which the printed products are taken in each case and transportable from the transfer area to the transfer area and can be transferred to a transport device.
  • the printed products can be injected directly into the containers, such as bags or channels, without an intermediate conveyor. At higher speeds, however, the printed products may curl or rebound during insertion and thereby disturb the further course. Thick products or product stacks strike the containers because of their high mass and high speed.
  • a conveyor device of this kind is for example from the EP-A-1 234 791 known.
  • the intermediate conveyor has a plurality of circulating compartments which can be displaced into an open position and for further transport of the printed products into a closed position in a proximity region of the feed conveyor.
  • the infeed conveyor is a conveyor with hanging clamps which are opened in the mentioned proximity area. In the transfer area, the compartments of the intermediate conveyor are opened, so that the printed products fall in free fall into pocket-like receiving elements of a plug-in machine.
  • a conveyor has become known in which the printed products are removed with a pulling member of a stack and fed to a plug-in machine having a plurality of pockets.
  • the tension member has pairs of cooperating rollers, between which the printed products are caught and delivered in a transfer area to the pockets.
  • the feed conveyor also has a plurality of grippers which are opened in a transfer area.
  • the intermediate conveyor is designed as a wheel and has a plurality of compartments on the periphery, which are opened in the transfer area, so that the products fall in free fall into the pockets of a Einsteckmaschine.
  • the problem is that the printed products at very high power are delivered rudely into the containers, which can lead to curling of the printed products and to a delayed and poor positioning of these printed products in the containers.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a conveyor device of the type mentioned, which avoids the disadvantages mentioned.
  • the conveyor should thus allow even at higher powers a gentle delivery of the printed products or pre-collected product stack for further processing.
  • the object is achieved in a generic conveyor device in that the conveying elements for aligning the printed products in the transfer area are each controlled to pivot about a substantially transverse to the direction of transport axis.
  • the conveyor device according to the invention which is defined in the appended claims, it is possible, due to the pivotability of the individual elements, to track the movement of the containers with optimum orientation of the printed products in the transfer area and to deliver them to the containers with optimum orientation and speed.
  • the device according to the invention it can be achieved that the printed products follow the containers very precisely during insertion. Basically, the smaller the angle between the velocity vectors of the containers and the supplied printed products, and the smaller the speed difference, the smoother the printed products are inserted.
  • the feed conveyor is a belt conveyor. This promotes the printed products at a certain distance from each other or in the scale flow. In the transfer area, these printed products are each transferred to a conveyor element, which takes over onward transport. Instead of the belt conveyor but in principle also another conveyor device, such as those with grippers can be used.
  • the feed conveyor runs at least substantially tangentially to the intermediate conveyor in the transfer area.
  • the transport direction in the transfer area is preferably vertical from top to bottom. In principle, however, a transport device in the transfer area from bottom to top or, for example, also a horizontal or inclined transport direction is possible.
  • the conveying elements each have a transport member with which the printed products can be transported on the corresponding conveying element.
  • This can be compensated in particular a differential speed between the feed conveyor and the intermediate conveyor.
  • the printed products can thus be braked or accelerated on the individual conveyor elements. If the printed products are supplied to the intermediate conveyor, for example in a preferably slightly overlapping scale flow, then the scale flow on the intermediate conveyor can be pulled apart by appropriate transport on the individual conveying elements. On the other hand, a distance be reduced between the individual printed products on the intermediate conveyor.
  • a particularly safe and structurally comparatively simple drive of the transport organs arises when, according to a development, the intermediate conveyor has at least one drive cam, which is in engagement with the transport organs in each case in the transfer area and thereby the corresponding printed products are moved on the conveying member.
  • the intermediate conveyor has at least one second drive curve, which is in each case in the transfer area with the transport organs in order to transport away the printed products in each case from the corresponding conveyor member and thus transfer.
  • the printed products can be injected, for example, in pockets, which is possible even at high speeds.
  • the transport members each have at least one transport roller on which rest the pressure applied to the corresponding conveyor element printed products. By appropriately rotating the transport rollers in one or the other direction, the printed products can be accelerated or decelerated.
  • a first drive curve in the transfer area and a second buoyancy curve in the transfer area is provided. This makes it possible to accelerate or decelerate the printed products in both areas. This results in a particularly high flexibility and optimal transfer of the printed products.
  • the conveying elements each have at least one gripping member with which the printed products can each be clamped against a bearing surface of the corresponding conveying element.
  • the gripping members are pivotally arranged on a conveying element according to a further development. By swiveling in and out, the printed products can be clamped or released accordingly.
  • a spring element may for example be arranged so that the gripping member is pivoted and the printed products are clamped. With a control cam, which counteracts the spring force, the gripping member can be opened again and the printed products are released.
  • the at least one gripping member is designed such that the retained printed products are each movable on an outer side of the conveying element in the transport direction or against it.
  • the gripping members are provided for this purpose, for example, with rollers which allow the said movements.
  • the printed products are thus each held on the conveyor element with said at least one gripping member, but can be moved in the transport direction or against the transport direction on the conveyor member.
  • the printed products both in the transfer area and in the transfer area can be accelerated or decelerated as mentioned above, but are guided safely.
  • the intermediate conveyor for pivoting the conveying elements has a curve and that the conveying elements have a cam roller which is at least partially engaged with the curve. This allows a particularly secure pivoting of the conveying elements in the transfer area. By appropriately adjusting the curve, the pivoting movement can be set exactly and also changed.
  • the intermediate conveyor is designed as a wheel and that the conveying elements are arranged on the circumference of the wheel.
  • the endless path of the conveying elements is thus here preferably a circular path. In principle, however, another path, for example an oval path, is also conceivable.
  • the conveying elements each have an outer bearing surface for the printed products and that these bearing surfaces each form a lateral surface of the wheel in a basic position of the corresponding conveying element.
  • these contact surfaces in the transfer area form a circular area on which the printed products can preferably be applied tangentially and thus accepted. Subsequent to this transfer area then the conveying elements can be pivoted with a front edge to the outside or inwards.
  • the printed products are transferred to a transport device which has pockets into which the printed products are inserted from above and, in particular, inserted.
  • the bags can be the pockets of a plug-in. You can for example be formed as a ring, as in the EP-A-1 234 791 is shown. Instead of the pockets but other containers or for example brackets or the like may be provided.
  • the in the FIGS. 1 and 2 shown conveyor device 1 has a feed conveyor 2, are transferred to the printed products 6 in a transfer area A to an intermediate conveyor 8 rotating about an axis 8.
  • the intermediate conveyor 3 is driven by a drive not shown here and rotates in the FIGS. 1 and 2 clockwise.
  • the transferred to the intermediate conveyor 3 printed products 6 are transferred from the intermediate conveyor 3 to a transport device 34 which in FIG. 2 the recorded printed products 6 promotes from left to right.
  • the printed products 6 are each stored in a pocket 14 or in another similar container or gripper.
  • printed products 6 according FIG. 2 taken over in three-clock position and delivered in about six o'clock position to the transport device 34. But both for the acquisition and for the transfer other positions are possible.
  • the printed products 6 are transported one behind the other in the feed conveyor 2 at a distance.
  • the printed products 6 could also be transported in a scale flow from the feed conveyor 2.
  • the printed products 6 are, for example, individual printed sheets, stacks of printing blocks, magazines, newspapers and the like.
  • the feed conveyor 2 is in the illustrated embodiment, a belt conveyor, but this could also be replaced by another suitable transport device, such as those with grippers.
  • the transport direction of the printed products 6 in the transfer area A runs tangentially to the circumference of the intermediate conveyor 3.
  • the feed conveyor 2 takes over the printed products 6 from a device, not shown here and promotes this between two conveyor belts 4 and 5, of which in the FIG. 1 only sections are shown. These conveyor belts 4 and 5 are endless belts which are driven and guided around corresponding deflection rollers.
  • the transport of the printed products 6 takes place in the FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially vertically from top to bottom.
  • printed products 6 are transferred to the intermediate conveyor 3.
  • the FIG. 1 shows a printed product 6 ', which already engages in the region of the intermediate conveyor 3.
  • a printed product 6 is already transferred to the intermediate conveyor 3.
  • Another printed product 6 ''' is delivered by the intermediate conveyor 3 and inserted into one of the pockets 14.
  • the intermediate conveyor 3 has a wheel 7 with two spaced-apart star-shaped plates 35 and 36 (FIG. Fig. 6 ), which is mounted in a machine frame, not shown here, at the ends of the axle 8.
  • the plates 35 and 36 each have a plurality of substantially radially outwardly projecting bearing parts 39 (FIGS. Fig. 1 ), between each of which a recess 40 is arranged.
  • a conveying element 9 is pivotally mounted in each case.
  • These conveying elements 9 have according to FIG. 3 in each case a front edge 41 and a rear edge 42, which run parallel to one another and parallel to a pivot axis 27. This pivot axis 27 is located substantially between the two edges 41 and 42, as the FIG.
  • the conveying elements 9 are distributed at the same distance from each other around the circumference of the wheel 7 and can be pivoted similar to the slats of a blind. Between the edges 41 and 42 extends a surface 32 which is bent straight or in accordance with the peripheral surface of the wheel 7 to the outside and forms an investment or support surface for each printed product 6.
  • the printed products 6 can each be detected and transported by the conveying elements 9, these each have two gripping members 10, which according to FIG. 3 are each pivotable about a pivot axis 43 and which are connected to a main body 35 of a conveying element 9.
  • An unillustrated spring element which could be, for example, a torsion spring mounted on the axle 43, acts to bring the gripping member 10 into the closed position.
  • the gripping members 10 each have a lever 21, on which at a distance from the axis 43 two spaced-apart rollers 19 are mounted.
  • the gripping members 10 each have a arranged on a lever 33 cam roller 20, each with a in the FIGS. 1 and 2 shown gripper curve 11 work together.
  • the gripper cam 11 counteracts the gripping member 10 closing spring force.
  • the gripping members 10 each between the in the Figures 3 and 6 shown clamping position and one in the FIGS. 1 and 2 pivoted open position shown.
  • the gripping members 10 are located in front of the transfer area A in the open position and then go in the transfer area B in the closed position.
  • the gripping members 10 are approximately in the two-clock position in the open position and approximately in the four-clock position in the clamping or closed position.
  • the gripping members 10 "are here already in the clamping or closed Position in which the corresponding printed product 6 '' is held on the conveyor element 9.
  • the lever 21 may be made of an elastic material to compensate for differences in thickness of printed products 6 or product stack 45.
  • the printed products 6 are respectively retained after the transfer area A on the conveyor elements 9 so that they can be transported on these.
  • the conveying elements 9 according to the Figures 3 and 5 a plurality of recesses 44 into which a transport roller 23 or further parallel rollers 24 protrude.
  • the gripper rollers 19 are in closed gripping members 10 respectively on an outer surface 37 of the transport roller 23 and on a roller 24 at. In the circumferential direction of the wheel 7, the printed products 6 can thus be moved between the gripper rollers 19 and the transport roller 23 or the rollers 24.
  • the transport roller 23 is according to FIG. 6 rotatably mounted on the two plates 35 and 36 and has at one end a drive member 26 which cooperates for the drive with a curve 30, 31.
  • the curve 30, 31 may be in one piece or as in FIG. 1 be formed in several parts. These curves 30 and 31 are stationary and can preferably be adjusted. With rotating wheel 7, the transport roller 23 is rotated in the intended area by engagement with the curve 30 or 31 about its longitudinal axis. The transport rollers 23 thus form with the curves 30 and 31 and the grippers 10 a transport member 22, can be transported with the printed products 6 in the desired area on the conveyor element 9. The transport is preferably carried out first in the transfer area A and subsequently in the transfer area B.
  • the transport member 22 may instead of the transport roller 23 and the gripper rollers 19 with other suitable elements, for example with Tapes or the like can be realized. For example, in each case around the two rollers 19 of a gripping member 10, a band are placed.
  • the first transport takes place according to FIG. 1 by the engagement of the drive member 26 on the curve 31, as the FIG. 1 shows.
  • the procedure is carried out according to FIG. 1 first approximately in the two-clock position, in which the printed product 6 'impinges on a conveying element 9 with a front end.
  • the transport of the printed product 6 'or 6 "serves primarily to compensate for a speed difference between the feed conveyor 2 and the intermediate conveyor 3. In this case, the distance between the printed products 6 can be reduced or even increased
  • the conveying speed with which the printed products 6 are transported on the conveying element can be influenced A smaller diameter of the drive part 26 results in a larger one Conveying speed on the conveying element 9.

  • the main body 25 For pivotal mounting of the main body 25 has according FIG. 4 on the inside a bearing pin 38. At a distance to this are on the main body 25 according to the Figures 3 and 4
  • Rolls 28 arranged according to the FIG. 6 work together with a curve 29.
  • the conveying elements 9 are pivoted in the transfer area B so that the trailing edge 42 are moved into a recess 40 and the leading edge 41 substantially radially outwards.
  • the corresponding printed products 6 are pivoted and aligned for storage in one of the pockets 14.
  • FIG. 1 is the printed product 6 "in a basic position and extends substantially parallel to the lateral surface of the wheel 7.
  • the printed product 6"' is now already pivoted and positioned obliquely downwards.
  • the pockets 14 are spared. These each have an inner side 15 and a further inner side 16 and a bottom 18.
  • the insertion of the printed products 6 takes place at an upper opening 17.
  • the inserted printed products 6 are finally on the inside 16, as the FIG. 2 lets recognize.
  • the printed products 6 leave the conveying element 9, if this is already largely immersed in the corresponding pocket 14, as the FIGS. 1 and 2 demonstrate.
  • the printed products 6 are held in the delivery to the transport device 34 with the two gripping members 10.
  • the printed products 6 are thus held and guided until complete delivery to the corresponding conveyor element 9.
  • the printed products 6 are inserted in the illustrated embodiment in empty pockets 14. Basically, these pockets 14 or other containers may already contain a printed product, which may also be open.
  • the inserted printed products 6 can thus be inserted, for example, as supplements in these other printed products become. Again, a gentle, smooth and timed delivery is essential. This can ensure that the printed products 6 are inserted exactly as supplements.
  • the exact and gentle transfer is also essential if the bags 14 are other containers or, for example, grippers.
