Definitions

  • the invention relates to a chair or armchair, in particular an office chair or chair with tilting backrest.
  • the chair can be arranged on a flat floor surface.
  • the plane bottom surface is defined by the two orthogonal direction vectors of the x and y direction of a Cartesian coordinate system.
  • the x-direction coincides substantially with the viewing direction of a user of the chair, ie, the x-direction points to the front.
  • the y-direction is perpendicular to the x-direction and is essentially to the left as seen by the user. To the right, so perpendicular to the bottom surface, the z-direction extends upward, ie opposite to the direction of gravity.
  • Extent and / or displacement direction (s) can be given in relation to the orthogonal Cartesian coordinate system thus defined.
  • the term “substantially” means that the direction to be indicated is less than about ⁇ 20 degrees, preferably less than about ⁇ 15 degrees, of the referenced direction differs by less than about ⁇ 10 degrees, and more preferably by less than about ⁇ 5 degrees, in particular by less than about ⁇ 2 degrees.
  • the term “substantially” may in particular describe a slight deviation from a desired value, in particular a deviation within the manufacturing accuracy and / or in the context of the necessary accuracy, so that an effect is maintained as it is present at the desired value.
  • the term “substantially” may therefore include a deviation of less than about 30%, less than about 20%, less than about 10%, less than about 5%, less than about 2%, preferably less than about 1% of a desired value or set position, etc. include.

  • positions and directions are exemplary and serve in particular as a reference for describing eg sides and extensions of the chair and / or for the determination of directions, for example, to specify clearly definable or determinable coordinates. If necessary, other positions or a different coordinate system can also be used.
  • a seat carrier extends substantially parallel to the bottom surface.
  • the longitudinal extension S of a seat support is essentially the spatial extent in the direction of the chair user, ie oriented substantially along the x-direction.
  • the transverse extension is oriented, which extends substantially from the chair user from right to left, that extends substantially along the y-direction.

  • first position describes, for example, the state or the position of one or more components, in particular of the seat support and the backrest.
  • first position particularly describes that position when the backrest is in an upright position. In other words, the first position corresponds to the position in which the chair is located when a user wishes to sit upright on it.
  • second position as used in the context of the present invention describes, for example, a state different from the aforementioned state or the aforementioned position or position of the aforementioned components, in particular the backrest.
  • the backrest In contrast to the first position, in the second position, the backrest is inclined further to the rear, ie inclined in the opposite direction to the x-direction.
  • the second position can be achieved by applying a force against the x direction on the backrest. Due to the applied force, in particular, the backrest moves, for example, from the first to the second position.
  • the components in particular the backrest, can be brought into any intermediate position between the first and the second position and preferably fixed in this intermediate position.

  • the distance of the seat coupling axis is reduced to the bottom surface when the seat support or the seat and / or the backrest is tilted backwards.
  • the distance between the seat front edge and the bottom surface remains substantially constant, so that when reclining the chair user, the area of the lower thigh and the knee area is not raised substantially by the front seat.
