Der Banknotensammelspule 2 als auch der Transportbandvorratsspule 3 ist jeweils ein eigenständiger Antriebsmotor 9, 10 zugeordnet. Eine Ansteuerung der Antriebsmotoren 9, 10 erfolgt unter Vermittlung einer nicht näher dargestellten, einen Mikrocomputer umfassenden Steuereinheit 11. Mittels einer nicht näher dargestellten Sensoreinheit in der Zuführeinrichtung 7 wird erkannt, dass im der Zuführeinrichtung 7 sich eine Banknote 8 befindet. Die Steuereinheit 11 aktiviert zur Entgegennahme der Banknote 8 den Antriebsmotor 9 der Banknotensammelspule 2 mit dem maximal zulässigen Strom und der Antriebsmotor 10 der Transportbandvorratsspule 3 wird derart bestromt, dass seine Leistung kleiner ist als die des Antriebs der Banknotensammelspule 2.
