Description
The invention relates to a method for operating an apparatus for receiving and dispensing paper currency in accordance with the preamble of patent claim 1.
From DE 101 35 54 2 B4 a method for controlling a storage roller, and a storage roller for storing sheet-form items, is of known art. The storage roller comprises a film drum and a winding drum. An independent drive motor is assigned to each drum. The sheet-form items received are stored on the winding drum, which is wound back and forth. The tension of the film is to be regulated to a prescribed design value; to this end the peripheral speed of the winding drum is regulated to a prescribed design value. For this purpose the physically coupled regulating circuits for the film tension and the peripheral speed of the winding drum are decoupled by means of a mathematical filter network. On the basis of the actual values determined for the film tension and the peripheral speed of the winding drum, the rotational speed of the film drum, the system parameters prescribed for the activation signals, and the activation signals for the drive motor of the winding drum and for the drive motor of the film drum, are calculated. Here the disadvantage is, however, that the actual value of the film tension must be recorded, e.g. with a strain gauge .
The object of the invention is to simplify the drive for an apparatus for receiving and dispensing paper currency, such that a dynamic regulation algorithm for driving the drive motors that are employed can be dispensed with.
This object is achieved with the features of patent claim 1.
Other advantageous configurations can be extracted from the subsidiary claims.
The inventive method has the advantage that drive motors of a lower power can be employed. During the receiving or dispensing of a banknote the drive motor for the banknote collecting reel, and also that for the conveyor belt supply reel, are respectively activated. The winding-up reel drive is respectively operated at its maximum power, and the reel drive for the unwinding reel drive is operated at a lower power. With the simultaneous supply of current to both actuating drives, for both the winding-up and unwinding processes, the drive motors can firstly be employed with a lower power, so that the related drive motors have a smaller build volume than if the drive motors had been designed such that only the winding-up reel drive is respectively activated.
The invention is elucidated with the aid of an example of embodiment, which is represented in the drawing.
In the drawing only the elements essential to the invention of an apparatus for receiving and dispensing paper currency are schematically represented. The apparatus 1 comprises a banknote collecting reel 2 and a conveyor belt supply reel 3. From the conveyor belt supply reel 3 the conveyor belt 4 leads to the banknote collecting reel 2 and in so doing partially encompasses a deflecting reel 5 assigned to the conveyor belt supply reel 3, and is subsequently deflected by a deflecting reel 6 assigned to the banknote collection reel 2 into the direction of the conveyor belt deflection reel. Between the two deflection reels 5, 6 is arranged a supply device 7 for banknotes 8. An independent drive motor 9, 10 is respectively assigned to the banknote collecting reel 2 and the conveyor belt supply reel 3. Activation of the drive motors 9, 10 takes place under the auspices of a control unit 11, not represented in any detail, comprising a microcomputer. By means of a sensor unit, not represented in any detail, in the supply device 7, it is detected that a banknote 8 is located in the supply device 7. For purposes of receiving the banknote 8, the control unit 11 activates the drive motor 9 of the banknote collecting reel 2 with the maximum permissible power, and the drive motor 10 of the conveyor belt supply reel 3 is supplied with current such that its power is less than that of the drive of the banknote collecting reel 2. The supply of current to the two drive motors 9, 10 takes place simultaneously.
By means of the inventive method for operating the drive motors 9, 10 of the apparatus 1 for receiving and dispensing paper currency" 8, the conveyor belt 4 can be configured so as to be particularly thin, so that as many banknotes 8 as possible can be wound onto the banknote collecting reel 2. Only by a simultaneous supply of current to the drive motors 9, 10 is it possible on the one hand to employ drive motors 9, 10 in each case with the lowest possible power, which has the advantage that the drive motors 9, 10 have a smaller build volume, and on the other hand is it possible for the conveyor belt 4 to be configured so as to be particularly thin, since the unwinding reel 2, 3 is also driven directly by the latter in each case. The immediate adjustment of the conveyor belt 4 by way of the drive of the conveyor belt supply reel 3 ensures that as low a tension as possible is present on the conveyor belt 4, and on the other hand that the necessary drive power is distributed between two drive motors 9,10. By this means each drive motor 9, 1G can be designed for a lower power, which has the consequence that its build becomes particularly compact.
