- the present invention relates to a control method for controlling a tumble laundry drier for drying wool laundry.
- Drying woollens poses serious difficulties, on account of the tendency of woollens to felt, thus resulting in irreparable damage. Felting of woollens is caused by overheating the wool, and by the woollens rubbing against the inner surface of the drum or against other woollens.
- Felting of woollens caused by overheating can be prevented by simply reducing and accurately controlling heating of the woollens during the drying process.

- Figure 2 shows a graph of rotation speed n of revolving drum 3 during the wool drying cycle. As shown in Figure 2 , during the wool drying cycle, rotation speed n is kept substantially constant at rotation speed n 1 greater than rotation speed n 2 , and drum 3 is stopped cyclically.

- Wool drying cycle as described above has numerous advantages, by being cheap and easy to implement in a standard tumble drier (no additional components, other than those normally featured in a modern tumble drier are required), and by enabling careful (i.e. felt-free) but nevertheless effective drying of wool laundry. More specifically, determining the end of the drying cycle on the basis of the measured humidity (i.e. electric resistance/conductivity) of the laundry to be dried, the wool drying cycle as described above minimizes mechanical stress of the wool laundry (i.e. eliminates undue mechanical stress caused by a longer than necessary drying cycle), is effective (i.e. at the end of the drying cycle, the wool laundry is as dry as necessary), and is efficient (i.e. the drying cycle wastes no electric energy) regardless of variations in the weight and initial humidity of the wool laundry to be dried.

Claims (13)
- Procédé de commande pour commander un sèche-linge à culbutage (1) pour sécher une lessive de laine (5) ; le procédé de commande comprenant les étapes consistant à :charger la lessive de laine (5) dans un tambour (3) du sèche-linge à culbutage (1) ;fournir un flux d'air de séchage dans le tambour (3) ; etfaire tourner le tambour (3) autour d'un axe de rotation (6), à une vitesse de rotation (n) variable ;le procédé de commande comprenant les étapes consistant à :faire tourner le tambour (3) à une première vitesse de rotation (n1), supérieure à une deuxième vitesse de rotation (n2) à laquelle l'accélération centrifuge de la surface intérieure du tambour (3) est égale à l'accélération due à la gravité, de manière que la lessive de laine (5) soit pressée, sous l'effet de la force centrifuge, contre la surface intérieure du tambour (3), au lieu de chuter à l'intérieur du tambour (3) :caractérisé en ce que le procédé comprend en outre l'étape d'arrêt cyclique de la rotation du tambour (3), par mise à zéro de la vitesse de rotation (n) et, ensuite, la réacccélération du tambour (3) pour revenir à la première vitesse de rotation (n1), pour réagencer la lessive de laine (5) à l'intérieur du tambour (3).
- Procédé de commande selon la revendication 1, dans lequel la première vitesse de rotation (n1) est dans la fourchette comprise entre 65 et 75 tours/minute, pour un tambour (3) d'un diamètre de 575 mm.
- Procédé de commande selon la revendication 2, dans lequel la première vitesse de rotation (n1) est d'à peu près 70 tours/minute, pour un tambour (3) d'un diamètre de 575 mm.
- Procédé de commande selon la revendication 1, 2 ou 3, dans lequel, à chaque arrêt cyclique de la rotation du tambour (3), la vitesse de rotation (n) du tambour (3) est diminuée/augmentée avec une décélération/accélération d'à peu près 20 à 35 tours/seconde2.
- Procédé de commande selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, dans lequel la rotation du tambour (3) est stoppée cycliquement toutes les 5 à 15 minutes.
- Procédé de commande selon la revendication 5, dans lequel la rotation du tambour (3) est stoppée cycliquement toutes les 10 minutes.
- Procédé de commande selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 6, dans lequel, au stade de l'arrêt, le tambour est stoppé pendant à peu près 1 à 3 secondes.
- Procédé de commande selon la revendication 7, dans lequel, au stade de l'arrêt, le tambour est stoppé pendant à peu près 2 secondes.
- Procédé de commande selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 8, et comprenant les étapes supplémentaires consistant à :mesurer la résistance/conductivité électrique entre deux électrodes (14) mises en contact avec la lessive de laine (5) située dans le tambour (3) ; etstopper le cycle de séchage lorsque la résistance/conductivité électrique entre les deux électrodes (14) est supérieure/inférieure à une valeur seuil de résistance/conductivité.
- Procédé de commande selon la revendication 9, dans lequel, pour décider la mise à l'arrêt du cycle de séchage, la résistance/conductivité, mesurée entre les deux électrodes (14) immédiatement après un arrêt cyclique de la rotation du tambour (3), est comparée à la valeur seuil de résistance/conductivité.
- Procédé de commande selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 10, et comprenant les étapes supplémentaires consistant à :déterminer la position de la lessive de laine (5) à l'intérieur du tambour (3) ; etstopper le tambour (3) de manière que, lorsque le tambour (3) est stoppé, la lessive de laine (5) se trouve au fond du tambour.
- Procédé de commande selon la revendication 11, dans lequel le tambour (3) comprend une pluralité de moyens de levage (15), chacun muni d'un capteur (16) pour détecter la présence de la lessive de laine (5) ; et le procédé de commande comprend les étapes supplémentaires consistant à ;
déterminer quels sont le ou les moyen(s) de levage (15) en contact avec la lessive de laine (5) ; et
stopper le tambour (3) de manière que, lorsque le tambour (3) est stoppé, le/les moyen(s) de levage (15) en contact avec la lessive de laine (5) se trouve(nt) en position basse. - Procédé de commande selon la revendication 12, et comprenant l'étape supplémentaire de commencement de la mise à l'arrêt du tambour (3) lorsque le ou les moyen(s) de levage (15) en contact avec la lessive de laine (5) est/sont à peu près 120° en amont de leur position la plus basse.
