  • Drying woollens poses serious difficulties, on account of the tendency of woollens to felt, thus resulting in irreparable damage. Felting of woollens is caused by overheating the wool, and by the woollens rubbing against the inner surface of the drum or against other woollens.

  • Figure 2 shows a graph of rotation speed n of revolving drum 3 during the wool drying cycle. As shown in Figure 2 , during the wool drying cycle, rotation speed n is kept substantially constant at rotation speed n 1 greater than rotation speed n 2 , and drum 3 is stopped cyclically.
  • Electronic control unit 12 is connected to a humidity sensor 13 to measure the relative humidity of wool laundry 5 during the wool drying cycle.

More specifically, determining the end of the drying cycle on the basis of the measured humidity (i.e. electric resistance/conductivity) of the laundry to be dried, the wool drying cycle as described above minimizes mechanical stress of the wool laundry (i.e. eliminates undue mechanical stress caused by a longer than necessary drying cycle), is effective (i.e. at the end of the drying cycle, the wool laundry is as dry as necessary), and is efficient (i.e. the drying cycle wastes no electric energy) regardless of variations in the weight and initial humidity of the wool laundry to be dried.

Claims (13)

  1. Steuerungsverfahren zur Steuerung eines Wäschetrockners (1) zum Trocknen von Wollwäsche (5); wobei das Steuerungsverfahren folgende Schritte umfasst:
    Laden der Wollwäsche (5) in eine Trommel (3) des Wäschetrockners (1);
    Zuführen eines Trockenluftstroms in die Trommel (3); und
    Rotieren der Trommel (3) um eine Rotationsachse (6) mit variabler Drehzahl (n);
    wobei das Steuerungsverfahren folgende Schritte umfasst:
    Rotieren der Trommel (3) mit einer ersten Drehzahl (n1), die höher ist als eine zweite Drehzahl (n2), bei der die Zentrifugalbeschleunigung der Innenoberfläche der Trommel (3) der Erdbeschleunigung entspricht, so dass die Wollwäsche (5) per Zentrifugalkraft gegen die Innenoberfläche der Trommel (3) gedrückt wird, anstatt in der Trommel (3) herab zu fallen;
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Verfahren ferner den Schritt des zyklischen Anhaltens der Rotation der Trommel (3) durch Nullung der Drehzahl (n) und der anschließenden Wiederbeschleunigung der Trommel (3) auf die erste Drehzahl (n1) umfasst, um die Wollwäsche (5) in der Trommel (3) neu anzuordnen.
  2. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei die erste Drehzahl (n1) zwischen 65 und 75 UpM für eine Trommel (3) mit einem Durchmesser von 575 mm beträgt.
  3. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß Anspruch 2, wobei die erste Drehzahl (n1) etwa 70 UpM für eine Trommel (3) mit einem Durchmesser von 575 mm beträgt.
  4. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß Anspruch 1, 2 oder 3, wobei die Drehzahl (n) der Trommel (3) bei jedem zyklischen Anhalten der Rotation der Trommel (3) mit einer Verlangsamung/Beschleunigung von etwa 20-35 Umdrehungen/Sekunde2 verringert/erhöht wird.
  5. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, wobei die Rotation der Trommel (3) alle 5-15 Minuten zyklisch angehalten wird.
  6. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß Anspruch 5, wobei die Rotation der Trommel (3) alle 10 Minuten zyklisch angehalten wird.
  7. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, wobei die Trommel (3) in der Anhaltephase etwa 1 bis 3 Sekunden lang angehalten wird.
  8. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß Anspruch 7, wobei die Trommel (3) in der Anhaltephase etwa 2 Sekunden lang angehalten wird.
  9. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, das ferner folgende Schritte umfasst:
    Messen des elektrischen Widerstands/der Leitfähigkeit zwischen zwei Elektroden (14), welche die Wollwäsche (5) in der Trommel (3) kontaktieren; und
    Anhalten des Trocknungszyklus', wenn der elektrische Widerstand/die Leitfähigkeit zwischen den zwei Elektroden (14) über/unter einem Widerstands-/Leitfähigkeits-Schwellwert liegt.
  10. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß Anspruch 9, wobei für die Entscheidung über das Anhalten des Trocknungszyklus der zwischen den Elektroden (14) unmittelbar nach einem zyklischen Anhalten der Rotation der Trommel (3) gemessene Widerstand/die Leitfähigkeit mit dem Widerstands-/Leitfähigkeits-Schwellwert verglichen wird.
  11. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, das ferner folgende Schritte umfasst:
    Feststellen der Position der Wollwäsche (5) in der Trommel (3); und
    Anhalten der Trommel (3), so dass, wenn die Trommel (3) angehalten ist, die Wollwäsche (5) am Boden der Trommel (3) liegt.
  12. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß Anspruch 11, wobei die Trommel (3) eine Anzahl an Heberelementen (15) aufweist, die jeweils mit einem Sensor (16) ausgestattet sind, um die Anwesenheit der Wollwäsche (5) festzustellen; und wobei das Steuerungsverfahren folgende weitere Schritte umfasst:
    Bestimmen des/der Heberelements/e (15), welche die Wollwäsche (5) kontaktieren; und
    Anhalten der Trommel (3), so dass, wenn die Trommel (3) angehalten ist, das/die die Wollwäsche kontaktierende(n) Heberelement(e) in einer tiefen Position ist/sind.
  13. Steuerungsverfahren gemäß Anspruch 12, das ferner den Schritt des Beginnens des Anhaltens der Trommel (3) umfasst, wenn das/die die Wollwäsche (5) kontaktierende(n) Heberelement(e) (15) etwa 120° stromaufwärts seiner/ihrer tiefsten Position ist/sind.
