Definitions
- the invention relates to an oil pump and vacuum pump module for internal combustion engines.
- Internal combustion engines such as gasoline and diesel engines, have an oil pump for lubricant delivery.
- the oil pump is driven by an output shaft of the internal combustion engine, which is usually connected to the crankshaft.
- the oil pump is located within the crankshaft housing or flanged to this.
- Vacuum pumps are provided for operating vacuum units.
- the drive of the vacuum pump also takes place via an output shaft of the internal combustion engine, which is usually connected to the camshaft.
- Vacuum pumps are usually arranged in the region of the cylinder head and flanged to the engine housing in this area.
- JP 61222857 A discloses a combined oil pump and vacuum pump module which is mounted to a motor housing with a separate retainer.
- the invention has for its object to simplify the use of oil pumps and vacuum pumps in internal combustion engines and in particular to reduce their assembly costs.
- a module which comprises both the oil pump and the vacuum pump.
- the housing parts in particular the housing halves, in such a way that they complement each other.
- a rotating oil delivery element of the oil pump and a rotating air conveying element of the vacuum pump on a common drive shaft, in particular rotationally fixed are arranged. Both pumps are thus driven by a common shaft. This has the advantage that a drive shaft is eliminated and in particular only the common drive shaft must be stored.
- One of the two pump housings in particular the first pump housing, has a mounting surface. This runs radially to the axis of the drive shaft.
- the second pump housing which is in particular the vacuum pump housing, mountable.
- the mounting surface is not only used for mounting the second pump housing, but also for mounting the entire module, for example on the crankshaft housing. This has the advantage that a single mounting surface is used for two assemblies. As a result, the manufacturing cost can be reduced because only one mounting surface must be edited.
- the module comprises a first and a second pump housing or two housing halves.
- the oil pump is arranged in each case one pump housing and the vacuum pump in the other.
- a first pump housing which is preferably the oil pump housing, has two opposing openings. From these openings protrudes the drive shaft, wherein one of the drive shafts with a drive element, such as a gear, and the other end is connected to a conveying element, in particular the air conveying element of the vacuum pump.
- the drive shaft is preferably formed integrally.
- the module can be arranged on the motor housing. It is particularly preferable to arrange the entire module within the motor housing, in particular within the crankshaft housing.
- a particular cylindrically shaped recess may be provided into which the second pump housing is inserted.
- a corresponding mounting surface is provided, against which the mounting surface of the module according to the invention is applied.
- the module according to the invention can thus be extremely space-saving, in particular within the crankshaft housing, are arranged.
- the second pump housing is open exclusively in the direction of the mounting surface.
- the corresponding connections for the pump arranged in the second pump housing, in particular the vacuum pump are thus formed by the first pump housing. This has the advantage that the second pump housing can be made extremely simple. It is particularly preferred to provide a pot-shaped housing, which is produced in particular from a sheet metal, as the second pump housing.
- the oil pump and the vacuum pump are combined to form a module, it is possible in a simple manner to supply the vacuum pump with lubricant.
- the two pumps are connected to each other in a preferred embodiment via a lubricant channel. This is promoted by the oil pump lubricant to the vacuum pump. In particular, due to the small distance between the two pumps lubrication of the vacuum pump is ensured in a simple manner.
- the oil pump and vacuum pump module has a first housing 10, which is the oil pump housing in the illustrated embodiment.
- a second, cup-shaped housing 12 is formed as a vacuum pump housing.
- a common drive shaft 14 is rotatably connected to an oil delivery element 16 and an air conveyor element 18.
- the oil delivery element 16 cooperates with a second delivery element 20 of the oil pump, wherein the oil pump in the illustrated embodiment is a gerotor pump which conveys oil from an oil inlet 22 in the direction of an oil outlet 24.
- the oil pump housing 10 has two openings 26, 27 from which protrude the two ends of the drive shaft.
- the opening 26 is closed by a housing cover 28, wherein the drive shaft 14 is slidably mounted in a bearing 30 of the lid 38 and projects through the housing cover 28 therethrough.
- a drive element 34 is arranged in the form of a sprocket and rotatably connected to the drive shaft 14.
- the drive element 34 is connected to a motor output shaft, for example via a further gear or a chain.
- the oil pump 11 is thus arranged completely within the housing 10 closed by the housing cover 28.
- the vacuum pump 13 which is in particular a rotary vane pump, is arranged substantially inside the cup-shaped housing 12, which is preferably a housing made of sheet metal. In the illustrated embodiment, the vacuum pump housing 2 has no connections of the vacuum pump.
- the port 36 ( Fig. 1 ) for the vacuum pump is disposed in the first housing 10, that is, in the oil pump housing.
- a delivery chamber 38 arranged in the vacuum pump housing 12 is connected to the outlet 36 via a channel 40.
- the first housing 10 has a mounting surface 42, which may be stepped if necessary.
- the second housing 12 is secured by screws 44. Since the mounting surface 42 according to the invention projects radially beyond the second housing 12, the entire module can be mounted on the remaining mounting surface on or in a crankcase.
- the assembly is in a crankcase, wherein the second pump housing 12 is inserted into a recess provided in the crankshaft housing recess, so that the remaining mounting surface 42 abuts against a corresponding provided within the crankshaft housing mounting surface.
- the module can then, for example, by means of screws which through openings 46 ( Fig. 1 ) are mounted by fastening the screws into threads disposed on the mounting surface provided in the crankcase,
- Another essential aspect of the invention is that in the mounting surface 42, the terminals 24 and 36 are provided for the oil pump 11 and the vacuum pump 13. This has the advantage that at the same time the connections are fluidly connected when mounting the module.
- the mounting surface 42 is preferably aligned radially to the axis 48 of the drive shaft 14.
- the mounting surface 42 further represents the parting plane between the two housing halves 10, 12 and the first housing 10 and the second housing 12.
Description
- In
US 4,497,618 undWO2004/092588 A1 .
- Fig. 1
- eine schematische perspektivische Ansicht des erfindungsgemäßen Moduls,
- Fig. 2
- eine schematische Seitenansicht des Moduls, und
- Fig. 3
- einen schematischen Längsschnitt des in
Fig. 2 dargestellten Moduls.
Fig. 3 linken Seite einen zweiten Deckel auf.
