The longitudinal axis of this pressure vessel is arranged approximately normal to the support surface.
  • Each cell is individually controllable via at least one actuatable by a control valve.
  • Each cell is bendable on itself in at least one normal plane on the support surface.
  • an air mattress with a pressure control system is known.
  • This air mattress also has a plurality of air chambers and a control unit which opens and closes the valves associated with the air chambers.
  • the control unit can be connected to an external remote control via a radio transceiver.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a reclining device in which the setting of a desired mattress profile is simplified.
  • the advantages of the invention are, in particular, that a user who himself is the owner of a lying device according to the invention, has the ability to wirelessly transmit the valve control data of a personally preferred mattress profile to a data carrier or a mobile communication device and this or to carry this with you.
  • This allows him, for example, in hotel accommodation, hospital stays, spa stays and private visits, provided there deck devices that are also provided with the features of the invention, quickly and easily enter the valve control data of him personally preferred mattress profile. This gives him a considerable time savings, since a tedious, time-consuming manual adjustment of the mattress profile is not necessary.
  • FIG. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a mattress used in the reclining device according to the invention.
  • the illustrated mattress 1 has a multiplicity of lattice-shaped air chambers 2.
  • Each of these air chambers has a square, rectangular or round base.
  • each air chamber has a length and a width in the range of 4 to 10 cm.
  • the height of each air chamber can be adjusted depending on the amount of air supplied, for example in the range between 6 and 12 cm.
  • the entire length of the mattress is for example 200 cm, its width 100 cm.
  • Each of the air chambers 2 of the mattress 1 can be individually inflated with air, so that the prevailing air pressure and the height are individually adjustable for each of the air chambers.
  • This individual inflation of an air chamber is associated with the FIG. 2 1 which shows a diagram for explaining the operation of a reclining device according to the invention.
  • the air chamber 2 shown there contains an air connection 6, which is connected via a valve 3 to a compressed air source 7.
  • the valve 3 is opened and closed by control signals provided by a control unit 4.
  • the control unit 4 which includes a processor, generates said control signals in response to valve control data stored in a mattress profile memory 12, with additional consideration of sensor output signals applied thereto.
  • the in the FIG. 2 illustrated air chamber 2, like all other air chambers of the mattress on a pressure sensor 8, a height sensor 9 and a position sensor 10.
  • the output signals of said sensors are supplied to the control unit 4 and taken into account by the processor in the determination of the valve control data supplied to the valves.
  • the valve control data opens or closes the valves, making them permeable or blocked.
  • the air pressure prevailing in the respective air chamber can be monitored to see whether it corresponds to a desired mattress profile or not. Furthermore, by evaluating the output signals of the pressure sensor 8, the air pressure in the respective air chamber can be monitored to the extent that it does not exceed a predetermined permissible maximum pressure. This ensures that an air chamber can not burst in an undesirable manner and endanger the person lying on the mattress.
  • the pressure relief valve is integrated, for example, in the line connection plate for the air chamber supply lines. Additionally or alternatively, one of the control unit 4 controlled electrical safety valve 24 (see FIG. 4 ) be provided.
  • the height of the respective air chamber can be monitored to see whether it corresponds to the currently set mattress profile or must be adjusted.
  • the height measurement takes place, for example, in that a reflective layer is applied to the underside of the upper boundary wall of the air chamber and the distance of the reflective layer from the height sensor 9 is detected.
  • the position sensors 10 By evaluating the control signals supplied by the position sensors 10, it can be determined whether the person lying on the mattress lies on his stomach, on his back or on his side and a mattress profile belonging to the respective lying position is set. For this location determination, for example, in the area of the upper edge of the pajama pants of a person sleeping on the mattress, various signal transmitters are attached, for example sewn.
  • a first donor is located in the area of the back, a second donor in the area of the abdomen, a third donor on the left side and a fourth donor on the right side.
  • the respective position sensor emits a respective characteristic identification signal to the control unit 4, by means of which the control unit recognizes, using data stored in a couch profile memory, whether the person lying on the mattress is lying on the mattress Belly, on the back, the left side or the right side lies. If the person lies, for example, on his back, then only causes the arranged in the back of the signal generator via the proximity sensor 10 arranged near a message to the control unit 4. All other signal transmitters are so far away from the nearest respective position sensor that the other position sensors do not give a signal. Consequently, in this case, the control unit 4 sets a mattress profile corresponding to a person sleeping on the back. For this purpose, the control unit 4 uses data stored in a mattress profile memory.
  • FIG. 3 shows a schematic view illustrating a preferred embodiment of an air chamber.
  • This is realized in the form of a bellows, which consists of a soft plastic material.
  • the folds are stretched in the sense that the height of the air chamber is increased. If, on the other hand, air is released from the air chamber, the bellows sinks back together so that the height of the air chamber is reduced.
  • Adjacent bellows of the mattress 1 are - as by the in the FIG. 3 illustrated contact piece 2a is illustrated - connected to each other by a Vulkanisiervorgang. This connection of adjacent bellows is located in the middle or lower region of the respective bellows. As a result, the setting of the desired height of a bellows is not affected.
  • the sensors located in the air chamber 2 are in the FIG. 3 for reasons of Ülicht performancekeit not shown.
  • the air chambers can also be realized in the form of a telescopic piston-cylinder connection.
  • FIG. 4 shows a further illustration for explaining the operation of a reclining device according to the invention.
  • the control unit 4 and the air source 7 are shown in more detail.
  • the air source 7 has a piston housing 16, within which a piston 15 is movable up and down. at the upward movement of the piston 15, air is pressed in the direction of the valves 3 of the air chambers. If the respective valve is open, the air pressed through the valve is pumped into the respective air chamber. During the downward movement of the piston - if the respective valve is open - air can be discharged from the respectively associated air chamber.
  • the movement of the piston 15 is caused by a linear motor 14, which in turn is supplied with control signals which are supplied to it from the control unit 4 via a motor control line 21.
  • the control unit 4 ensures that a valve for pumping or discharging air during the up and down movement of the piston is only opened when the pressure in the respective air chamber coincides with the pressure prevailing in the pump chamber of the piston housing air pressure.
  • a pressure sensor 23 is provided in the region of the piston housing, the output signal of the control unit 4 is supplied via a line 22.
  • the advantage of such a design of the air source 7 is that the introduction of air into the air chambers of the mattress and the discharge of air from the air chambers of the mattress is silent. This is due to the fact that the piston 15 in the piston housing 16 has to move only very slowly, since a change in the air pressure in the air chambers should not be abrupt, but slowly. This has the advantage that for the person lying on the mattress, the change in the air pressure is inconspicuous.
  • control of the valves is - as already stated above - by control signals that are provided by the control unit 4 - for each of the valves and thus for each air chamber individually.
  • the control unit 4 has a processor 11, a mattress profile memory 12, a keyboard 13 as input means, a log memory 17 and a couch profile memory 20.
  • the processor 11 is connected to a display 5 and via an online connection 18 to a remote central processor 19. The latter is located for example in a hospital, in a doctor's office or in a sleep research institute.
  • the processor 11 is connected to the linear motor 14 via the motor control line 21.
  • the control unit 4 is connected via a line 30 to a data carrier receptacle 31.
  • this data carrier recording and reading means 32 are arranged, by means of which an inserted into the data carrier recording medium 33 is writable and by means of which an inserted into the data carrier recording medium 33 is readable.
  • the data carrier 33 is a memory card.
  • the device shown has several working modes, which can be introduced via the keyboard 13.
  • a first mode of operation is to select a desired mattress profile by means of the control keyboard 13 and set by means of the processor 11.
  • 12 valve control data were stored in advance in the mattress profile memory, which correspond to a variety of different mattress profiles.
  • Each of these data sets can be selected via the control buttons 13 in the sense of selecting a desired mattress profile.
  • the processor 11 in response to the input operator commands, addresses the mattress profile memory 12 such that the respective desired data set is read from the mattress profile memory 12 and controls the linear motor 14 and the valves of the air chambers to adjust the desired mattress profile.
  • the data sets mentioned contain valve control data or information about the pressure and the height with respect to each individual one of the air chambers.
  • the processor 11 monitors the maintenance of this setting, taking into account the input signals supplied to it, and if necessary initiates adjustments by a suitable control of the linear motor 14 and the valves 3 of the air chambers. Furthermore, the processor 11 monitors the pressure in each individual air chamber so that a permissible, predetermined maximum pressure is not exceeded. If the processor 11 detects that the air pressure in one of the chambers agrees with the maximum permissible pressure, then it opens the associated valve in order to release air from this chamber.
  • a limiting element may be provided in each air chamber. This limiting element causes a predetermined maximum permissible height of the air chambers is not exceeded. As a result, damage or even destruction of the air chambers are avoided. If the air chambers are realized as bellows, the limiting element can be, for example, a leash.
  • a pre-pressure is applied to each air chamber.
  • An adjustment to a desired mattress profile takes place only when another person is lying on the mattress.
  • a second mode of operation is to initiate the operation of a predetermined sequence of mattress profiles by means of the control keyboard.
  • This sequence of mattress profiles has been determined in advance and serves to repeatedly rearrange the mattress lying person. It can thereby be achieved that the spine of the person lying on the mattress is moved, for example, during sleep in a predetermined manner, so that said person after waking up has no back pain.
  • the repeated change of the mattress profile means that the pressure on certain parts of the body, for example the heel or shoulders, does not remain constant for a long time. As a result, an occurrence of decubitus can be avoided or at least delayed.
  • the input signals supplied to the processor 11 by the sensors are additionally taken into account in order to maintain the respectively desired mattress profile and to adapt it to the body of the person lying on the mattress.
  • a third mode of operation is to automatically set a mattress profile by an evaluation of the lying position of the person lying on the mattress, which is adapted to the detected lying position.
  • 12 data were stored in advance in the reclining profile storage, which correspond to mattress profiles that are adapted to the respective reclining position.
  • a possible lying position is the prone position
  • a second lying position is the supine position
  • a third lying position is a lying on the left side of the body
  • a fourth lying position is a lying on the right side of the body.
  • the respectively associated mattress profiles are such that the person lying on the mattress is in each case stored comfortably and in a way that is easy on the spinal column.
  • the detection of the reclining position is carried out by an evaluation of the output signals of the position sensors 10.
  • These interact with signal transmitters attached in the pajamas of the person lying on the mattress, for example, sewn, are. So is in the back area, in the abdominal area, on the left side and on the right Side of the pajama pants each provided such a signal generator, these sensors emit signals distinguishable from each other. These are, if the respective signal generator is close enough to one of the position sensors 10, detected by this and forwarded to the control unit 4. For example, if the person lying on the mattress lies on his back, then only the position sensor 10 positioned in the back area of the pajama pants is close enough to the signal generator so that only this position sensor forwards a signal to the control unit 4.
  • the Chinese profile memory 20 and the mattress profile memory 12 may possibly be realized as a single memory.
  • the aforesaid modes of operation may also be combined with one another, thereby further improving the adaptation of the mattress profile to the body of the person lying on the mattress.
  • valve control data corresponding to a mattress profile can be transmitted to the data carrier 33 and stored thereon. For example, after actuation of a key of the operating unit 13, a list is displayed on the display 5, which list offers several different mattress profiles for selection. The user can select one or more of the offered mattress profiles using the cursor keys of the control unit 13 and confirm the selection made by pressing an enter key. Thereafter, the processor 11 controls the transfer of the selected mattress profile or the selected mattress profiles corresponding valve control data via the line 30 to the data carrier 33, on which they are stored by means of the write / read means 32.
  • the user can then take the data carrier with the data stored thereon and, for example, in a hotel or hospital, in which there is also a reclining device with the features according to the invention, use the data stored on the data carrier in the mattress profile memory of the local Transfer couch device. This saves him time and effort, which would be necessary to set the individual mattress profile of the user in the hotel or hospital mentioned.

  • the user can select one or more of the offered mattress profiles using the cursor keys of the control unit 13 and confirm the selection made by pressing an enter key.
  • the processor 11 controls the reading of the valve control data corresponding to the selected mattress profile or the selected mattress profiles from the data carrier 33 and their transmission via the line 30 into the mattress profile memory 12.
  • a mattress profile can also be assigned a distinguishing criterion, for example a serial number or an alphanumeric identifier.
  • the mattress profile discriminating data associated with the discriminating criterion becomes stored together with the mattress profile corresponding valve control data on the disk.
  • a sequence of mattress profiles or associated valve control data can be stored on the data carrier and read from there again. After reading these data in the mattress profile memory of a reclining device, the said sequence of mattress profiles can be started, so that a person lying on the mattress is repeatedly rearranged in the sense of said sequence.
  • An advantageous embodiment of the invention is to represent the mattress profiles corresponding data in a suitable form on the display 5.
  • the user then has the opportunity to make targeted changes to the mattress profiles based on the display representation, which correspond to his individual ideas. This includes, for example, a massage and ventilation by a specific moving up and down of individual chambers.
