- Such screening devices are known, they are used for example on roll crushers, which are used for the comminution of garbage, bulky waste, waste wood and so on.
- the roller shredders have teeth which work against a counter-comb and thereby shred the material.
- baskets with a specific perforation are placed under the crushing roller. These baskets are usually rigidly arranged. With the size and type of perforation, the grain size of the final material is determined. By using the rigid baskets, the shredders become susceptible to interfering substances such as stones, iron pieces and so on. Large parts that have not been crushed and do not fall through the basket are repeatedly taken around the roller and can thereby destroy the cutting unit or the cutting tools or the basket. For fine grinders with a basket perforation of 20 mm to about 80 mm and a speed of the roller of about 100 revolutions per minute, it is therefore absolutely necessary to feed the input material to the comminution free of contaminants. This means that this material must be pretreated.
