Definitions

  • the present invention generally relates to jewelery of generally curved or annular shape, and which comprise a movable part.
  • the present invention particularly relates to rings and bracelets having a movable part, and especially the watch straps having a movable part.
  • Ring-shaped jewels are already known which comprise a movable part.
  • the document FR 565 patent 768 describes a ring which can also be used as a fastening loop of a bracelet.
  • the kitten of the ring is constituted by a watch, and the circle is formed by two rings articulated parallel on the watch so that they can at will be oriented perpendicularly to the plane of the watch or parallel to this plane.
  • the two rings are oriented perpendicular to the plane of the watch, they are juxtaposed to form a single circle that can be threaded on a finger.
  • the two rings are spaced parallel to the plane of the watch, it is possible to pass a belt through the two rings.
  • the two rings do not pivot about a single axis common to the two rings, but pivot respectively about two parallel axes located on the watch.
  • U.S. Patent Nos. 1,830,929 and 1,936,604 both disclose a ring having two concentric rings of different diameters. These rings are assembled to one another with two pins arranged diametrically opposite each other. These pivots are provided to allow the rings to pivot relative to one another between an inclined position, in which the outer surface of the smaller ring is visible, and a nested position, in which the ring most large covers and masks the outer surface of the smaller ring. These two rings are both still equipped with closure means provided to maintain them in the nested position.
  • the figures 1 and 2 of the patent document DE 71 43'314 U describe a jewel that can be a ring or a bracelet, and which has three interlocking rings of different diameters.
  • the intermediate ring and the smaller ring are assembled to one another with two first pins arranged diametrically opposite each other.
  • the intermediate ring and the largest ring are assembled to one another with two second pins which are diametrically opposed along an axis perpendicular to the axis of the first two pivots.
  • This double articulation between the three rings forms what is called a cardan joint.
  • the jewel described can be worn at will with the rings fitted into each other or with the rings inclined relative to each other.
  • the document does not mention any means provided to prevent the rings from closing spontaneously.
  • FR 2'715'806 discloses a ring-shaped jewel which is intended to be worn in two different positions.
  • This jewel has an annular inner part and an outer ring-shaped part.
  • the two parts are assembled by two pivots arranged on a common axis and provided to allow the outer part to rotate.
  • the jewel further comprises an elastic element, integral with one of the parts, and provided to cooperate in abutment in one or other of two housings made in the other room. This arrangement selectively maintains the outer part in a first position in which the two parts are nested or in a second position in which they are inclined.
  • the jewel described in this fifth prior document has certain disadvantages. Indeed, for the elastic element to have the possibility of cooperating in abutment in a housing of the other room, the document teaches that the room inside and the outer part must remain at least partially overlapping. Under these conditions, the outer surface of the inner part is never visible in all its width. On the other hand, the use of a deformable element integral with one of the parts, and likely to be compressed between the two parts, makes relatively complicated the realization of the jewel.
  • An object of the present invention is therefore to provide a jewelery article comprising at least two rings, or portions of rings, nestable, capable of changing configuration by pivoting relative to each other about an axis common to two rings, and which does not suffer from the limitations just mentioned.
  • the present invention achieves this goal by providing a jewelery device according to claim 1.
  • a pin integral with a first ring cooperates with an edge of an opening in a second ring.
  • the wristwatch shown on the Figures 1a, 1b and 1c has three interlocking concentric rings. In the rest of the description, these rings will be called the inner ring 2, the intermediate ring 3 and the outer ring 4.
  • the three rings are assembled at two hinge zones, of which only one (referenced 9) is visible on Figures 1a, 1b and 1c .
  • the second zone of articulation between the rings is located diametrically opposite to the zone 9.
  • the rings are designed to be pivotable relative to each other about an axis of rotation passing through the two articulation zones mentioned above. .
  • a watch 5 comprising a dial 6 and hour and minute hands 8a, 8b, is integrated in the inner ring 2, so that the watch glass 7 is flush with the outer surface of the ring.
  • the dial and the indication of the time are thus visible through the outer surface of the inner ring 2.
  • the watch 5 occupies, on the inner ring 2, a position substantially midway between the two zones of articulation 9.
  • the figure 1b represents the same wristwatch with these rings in a second configuration.
  • the outer ring 4 is thus rotated by 30 ° with respect to the other two rings which are superimposed.
  • the bracelet is worn with its rings in this second configuration, its appearance is very different from that of the bracelet of the figure 1a .
  • the configuration shown in figure 1b does not allow to see the indication of the time.
  • the watch shown in this example is intended to be worn also in another configuration similar to that just described, but in which the ring inclined by 30 ° is the intermediate ring 3, while the The rings that mask the time display is the outer ring 4.
  • the outer ring 4 and the intermediate ring 3 are both inclined by 30 ° relative to the inner ring 2. It can be seen that the outer ring and the intermediate ring occupy positions which are symmetrical relative to the inner ring 2. It is also seen that in this configuration, the portion of the inner ring 2 which carries the watch is completely visible.
  • the rings may still have, for example, different widths or present a cut giving the jewel a particular aesthetic appearance.
  • Figures 5a, 5b and 5c represent a wristwatch that has this last feature.
  • the wristwatch of the present example comprises three rings 102, 103 and 104 which are represented in a nested position in the figure 5a . It is seen in this figure that the outer ring 104 has a cutout 131 of rounded shape in one of its sides. This cutout may possibly be in itself a decorative pattern.
  • the figure 5b shows the bracelet in a first inclined configuration in which the intermediate ring 103 and the outer ring 104 occupies symmetrical positions inclined by 15 ° relative to the inner ring bearing the watch. It can be seen in this view that the intermediate ring 103 also has a cutout (referenced 132) similar to that presented by the outer ring. It can also be seen that the cuts 103 and 104 have complementary shapes and that, in the configuration represented by the figure 5b they combine to draw a decorative pattern. In the present example, the decorative pattern is a heart whose contours are drawn by the edges of the opening between the rings 103 and 104. In this configuration, the dial of the watch is partially covered by each of the rings 103 and 104.
  • each ring is pierced with three openings at the location corresponding to the hinge zone 9.
  • these three openings are circular holes.
  • the intermediate ring 3 also has three openings, an axial opening 10b and two lateral openings 11b and 12b.
  • these last two openings are not circular, but of a more complex shape.
  • the outer ring 4 has openings 10c, 11c and 12c quite similar to those of the intermediate ring.
  • a depression 13 of generally circular shape is formed in the outer surface of the intermediate ring 3, at the hinge area 9.
  • the openings 10b, 11b and 12b are arranged in the flat bottom of the depression 13.
  • a second similar depression 14 is formed in the outer surface of the outer ring 4.
  • the openings 10c, 11c and 12c of the outer ring are disposed in this depression 14.
  • Two other flat bottom depressions are respectively arranged in the intermediate ring 3 and in the outer ring 4 at the second hinge region located diametrically opposite the region 9.
  • the circular openings 20a, 21a and 22a which are arranged in the inner ring 2 at the location corresponding to the second hinge zone.
  • buttons 15 and 16 comprises a head 24 having the general shape of a disc and three rods 25, 26 and 27 substantially parallel.
  • the head 24 is dimensioned so as to fit into one of the circular depressions 14 which are arranged on the surface of the outer ring 4.
  • the central rod 25 of the button 15 is provided to extend through the circular openings 10c and 10b of the rings 4 and 3 and to be driven into the opening 10a of the inner ring 2.
  • the central rod of the button 16 is provided to pass through the rings 4 and 3 and to have its end driven into the opening 20a of the ring 2.
  • the outer ring 4 and the intermediate ring 3 are provided for able to pivot about the two central rods 25 of the buttons 15 and 16. It will be understood that the two central rods have an axis of rotation function for the outer ring 4 and the intermediate ring 3. These central rods 25 therefore form articulation means for pivoting the rings relative to each other. On the other hand, as each of the rods 25 is secured to the inner ring 2 at one end, and ends in a head 24 at the other end, the three rings 2, 3 and 4 are held together. In particular, the mobile rings 3 and 4 are not likely to disengage the axes of rotation. Because of the above, the central rods 25 of the buttons 15 and 16 will be called "assembly axes" in the following description.
  • buttons 15 and 16 still carry two lateral rods respectively referenced 26 and 27 which are arranged on either side of the assembly axis 25.
  • the lateral rods 26 and 27 of the button 15 are respectively provided to extend through the openings 11c and 12c of the outer ring 4 and through the openings 11b and 12b of the intermediate ring 3 before being driven by their end into the openings 11a and 12a of the inner ring 2.
  • the two lateral rods of the button 16 pass through the rings 4 and 3, and have their ends driven into the opening 21a and into the opening 22a of the ring 2. It will be understood in particular from the foregoing that the buttons 15 and 16 are integral in rotation with the inner ring 2.
  • the figure 4 is a top view of the depression 14 which is arranged in the surface of the outer ring 4. It is seen on the figure 4 that, as already mentioned, the flat bottom of the depression 14 has three openings 10c, 11c and 12c.
  • the circular opening 10c is provided to receive the assembly axis 25, while the side openings 11c and 12c are provided to receive the lateral rods 26 and 27.
  • the opening 11c extends substantially in the shape of a U (an inverted U on the figure 4 ).
  • the two branches of the U (referenced 17 and 18) are parallel and extend in arcs.
  • the lateral rod (or pin) 26 penetrates frontally into the branch 17 of the opening 11c.
  • This branch 17 constitutes a slide in which the pin 26 can move transversely when the outer ring 4 pivots relative to the assembly axis 25.
  • the pin moves between the two positions identified by the reference numerals 26a and 26b which are separated by a 30 ° arc.
  • the branch 17 extends beyond the position 26a by a narrowed end portion.
  • the generally U-shaped shape of the opening 11c defines in the material of the outer ring 4 a long blade (referenced 30) which extends between the two arms of the U.
  • This blade 30 is shaped to present a certain radial elasticity, and it is provided to cooperate with the pin 26, somewhat like a spring-jumper.
  • the function of the blade 30 is to maintain the pin, either in the position 26a, or in the position 26b.
  • the opening 12c is the symmetrical pendant of the opening 11c.
  • the opening 12c constitutes a slide provided to receive the lateral rod (or pin) 27.
  • the pin 27 is retained in the position 27b.
  • the pin 27 is in the position 27a.
  • This arrangement has the advantage of substantially equalizing the force required to move from one position to another or vice versa.
  • the opening 12c could substantially substantially be rotated 180 ° relative to the opening 11c. It is also possible to use buttons 15 and 16 which comprise only one pin 26 or 27. Under these conditions, it would also be possible to delete the corresponding opening (either the opening 11c or the opening 12). .
  • the figure 4 represents the depression 14 in which the button 15 is inserted. However, it will be recalled that another depression intended to receive the button 16 is arranged in a diametrically opposite position on the outer ring 4. In the present embodiment, the openings made in FIG. in this second depression are quite similar to those represented by the figure 4 . The only thing that distinguishes them is that they are the symmetrical image of the openings of the depression 14 with respect to the plane of the inner ring 2. However, the person skilled in the art will understand that another possible choice and for example, to provide only the button 15 with pins. Under these conditions, the button 16 carries only the rod Central 25 and the U-shaped openings provided to receive the rods 26 and 27 of the button 16 are no longer necessary.
  • the surface of the intermediate ring 3 also has two depressions (one referenced 13 on the figure 2 ) which carries openings 10b, 11b and 12b which are similar in shape to the openings in the outer ring 4. Indeed, like the openings 11c and 12c of the outer ring, the openings 11b and 12b are provided to cooperate with pins 26 and 27 for holding the intermediate ring in one of two angular positions 30 ° apart.
  • the shape of the openings in the depression 13 is symmetrical with the shape of that formed in the depression 14 .
  • the figure 6 is a top view of one of the two depressions 114 which are arranged in the surface of the outer ring 104 of the wristwatch shown in FIGS. Figures 5a, 5b and 5c .
  • the flat bottom of the depression 114 has only two openings 110c and 111c.
  • the circular opening 110c is provided to receive an assembly pin 25, while the single lateral opening 111c is provided to receive a pin 26.
  • the opening 111c extends substantially in the shape of a U.
  • the two branches of the U (referenced 117 and 118) are parallel and extend in arcs.
  • the pin 26 penetrates frontally into the branch 117 in which it can slide transversely.
  • the edges of the branch 117 are shaped so as to selectively hold the pin 26 in three different positions (respectively referenced 126a, 126b and 126c).
  • the positions 126a, 126b and 126c are separated from each other by two arcs of 15 °.
  • the U-shape of the opening 111c defines in the material of the outer ring 104 a long blade (referenced 130) which extends between the two arms of the U.
  • the function of the blade 130 is to maintain the pin selectively in one of positions 126a, 126b and 126c.
