Abstract

L'invention concerne un système pour appliquer une masse de revêtement constituée d'une résine liquide et d'une matière abrasive à grains fins sur une bande de papier continue préimprégnée destinée à être utilisée pour produire des stratifiés résistant à l'usure. Ce système comprend un cylindre déflecteur sur lequel la bande de papier s'appuie au niveau d'une zone d'enroulement, un cylindre doseur disposé parallèlement au cylindre déflecteur, un interstice étroit étant formé entre ces deux cylindres, ainsi qu'une unité d'application. Les unités d'application connues présentent des buses à fentes à travers lesquelles la masse de traitement est injectée sur la bande de papier. Le problème de ces unités est qu'elles permettent difficilement d'obtenir une imprégnation totale de la bande de papier, un surplus important de masse de traitement étant par ailleurs injecté sur la bande de papier. L'objectif de l'invention est d'éliminer ces inconvénients. A cet effet, l'unité d'application selon l'invention comprend un élément de limitation qui est disposé en amont de l'interstice dans le sens d'avance de la bande et qui permet d'obtenir entre le cylindre déflecteur et l'élément de limitation un coin destiné à recevoir la masse de revêtement. Le système selon l'invention peut être utilisé pour imprégner du papier pour produire un stratifié résistant à l'usure.
