Definitions
- the invention relates to a printed circuit board connector for direct plug-in connection of printed circuit boards, consisting of an insulating plug housing and disposed therein disk-shaped modules in which electrical contact elements are arranged, wherein signal contacts having modules with Ableaide having modules are arranged alternately side by side.
- Such a printed circuit board connector is required to transfer differential signal voltages by means of a high number of electrical contacts from one printed circuit board to another printed circuit board, wherein paired shielded contacts are provided, which ensure a low crosstalk between the cable pairs.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to form a printed circuit board connector of the type mentioned in that for the transmission of differential signals in each case a two-pole signal routing is provided, being provided for shielding between the signal-carrying line pairs appropriately designed shielding.
- This object is achieved in that two, a differential pair forming signal contacts are at least partially separated by a arranged between the signal pairs shield contact.
- the PCB connector is used to connect two circuit boards, which are arranged at right angles to each other. By a corresponding design of the connection contacts can also be realized, based on the circuit boards “straight" 180 ° connection.
- high performance connectors are required to provide both sufficient signal density and signal integrity. Differential signals are inherently largely immune to common mode noise, since the logic information is transmitted as a voltage difference between the respective line pair. However, it must be provided for a corresponding shielding of the line pairs. For the connectors designed for this purpose, this is achieved through integrated and specially designed shielding plates.
- the advantages achieved by the invention are in particular that by means of the printed circuit board connector according to the invention, a number juxtaposed, differential signal pairs are separated radiated beam, in which between the pairs of adjacent signal modules in which signal contacts are embedded, modules are inserted, which is designed as a shroud Have disc.
- the modules are arranged as signal or shielding module in a certain pattern next to each other inserted in the plug housing, wherein two adjacent signal modules are each interrupted by a shielding.
- the shielding modules in a variant as sheet metal discs in the plug housing or in a further variant as with an insulating material coated modules.
- an angled terminal end pointing from the shielding module to the printed circuit board is advantageously arranged in each case between the two differential signal contacts.
- Two individual contacts arranged side by side in two modules each form a differential signal pair.
- Which in turn is arranged opposite a differential signal pair. So that on each side of an inserted printed circuit board two adjacent interconnects form a differential signal pair, which are separated by a further serving for shielding conductor.
- the printed circuit board connector consists of a plug housing 2 with a plug-in slot 4 on the plug-in side, for inserting a printed circuit board between the disk-shaped modules 10, 20 shown in the sectioned area, which are arranged between the longitudinal sides 3 of the plug housing in a specific sequence.

- two signal modules 10, which contain signal contacts 11, are arranged next to one another continuously by a shielding module 20 with a shielding contact 21 embedded therein.
- an area in the plug housing 2 is shown, from which the modules 10, 20 are removed, so that from the two opposite longitudinal sides 3 in the housing interior projecting, molded webs 5 can be seen.
- each two signal modules 10 are inserted. While in the vertical clear space 7 between the webs 5, the shielding modules 20 are used. Furthermore, a mounting post 9 is provided for mechanically stable mounting of the housing on a corresponding circuit board.
- Fig. 3 shows a variant of the plug-in housing 2, in which instead of the webs 5 insertion slots 8 are provided on both sides within the longitudinal sides 3.
- the shielding modules 20 ' which are inserted into these insertion slots, are merely made of a flat shielding plate 21 without an enveloping insulating body. Otherwise, the arrangement of the signal and the shield modules remains the same as already shown in Fig. 2.
- a bore 9 ' is provided for receiving an external fastening means, not shown here.
- FIG. 4 shows a signal module 10 in a perspective view.
- the disk-shaped, consisting of an electrically non-conductive insulating 14 module surrounds here two independently embedded electrical signal contacts 11, which have two mutually facing, resilient plug contacts 12 and two terminal ends 13, which are designed here as press-fit. Furthermore, in the module on the side of the terminal ends 13, an approximately centrally disposed of the insulator slot 18 is provided, into which protrudes in the assembly of the connector, the angled terminal end 23 of the adjacent shielding module 20.
- FIGS. 5 ad A variant of the signal module 10 shown in FIG. 4 is shown in FIGS. 5 ad.
- Fig. 5a shows the two signal contacts 11 with the plug contacts 12 and the terminal ends 13, which are designed here as solder contacts.

- the shielding module is inserted in this variant in corresponding slots 8 in the longitudinal sides 3 of the plug housing.
- two signal modules 10 according to FIG. 4 are shown in a perspective view, one of which is rotated by 180 ° about its thru-axle. Placing the modules close together, the plug contacts 12, based on the insulating body 14 symmetrically embedded and evenly spaced next to each other.
- the plug contacts 12 are arranged uniformly in height for contacting with printed conductors on a printed circuit board.
- the terminal ends 13, however, are arranged at different heights, since they emerge from the insulating body in each case in the first and in the third quarter of the insulator height and in the 180 ° rotation shown here are each offset by a quarter in height. Abstract
