Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cartridge-mounted training ammunition from a projectile and this bullet receiving cartridge case, the cartridge from bullet and cartridge case into a barrel weapon, in particular with medium caliber such. B. 40 mm can be used.
  • the projectile has a projectile body with a bullet tip and a bullet bottom; in the cartridge case, a drive chamber is provided with a pyrotechnic propellant charge, which is ignitable via a pyrotechnic ignition device.
  • the projectile and the cartridge case are mechanically interconnected z. B. screwed, squeezed, etc., and this connection can also be designed as a predetermined breaking point.
  • the propellant gases developed in this way in the pressure chamber generate a high pressure acting on the floor of the projectile; at a certain pressure, the mechanical connection between the cartridge shell and projectile breaks, so that the projectile is expelled from the cartridge case.
  • a patronized training ammunition according to the preamble of claim 1 is in the AU 747 154 B2 disclosed.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a construction for a patronized training ammunition of the type in question, with the production of ammunition is significantly simplified.
  • Another object is to design the design for the cartridged ammunition so that the properties of the ammunition at launch and also the flight characteristics of the projectile during the flight are not degraded compared to more expensive variants of a cartridgeed ammunition according to the prior art.
  • the bullet for the patronized practice ammunition comprises a cylindrical central block with two end faces, wherein the one, lower end face forms the floor of the bullet. Furthermore, a one-piece projectile nose z. B. provided in the form of a hood which merges at its lower, facing the central block end in a resilient collar, which is provided at the lower open end with an inwardly facing circumferential first locking element.
  • the projectile nose is pushed with the collar on the opposite side of the projectile floor on the circumference of the central block, wherein the first locking element of the collar of the projectile nose engages in a corresponding second catch element of the central block and locks the central block with the projectile nose.
  • the cartridge case is in one piece and designed as an approximately cylindrical cup whose upwardly open, facing the central block side wall in the upper region merges into a resilient collar, which is provided at the upper edge with an inwardly facing first locking element.
  • the cartridge case is slid onto the central block with the detent member of the cartridge case engaging a corresponding second detent member of the central block so that the central block and the cartridge case are locked together.
  • This lock forms the mechanical connection between bullet and cartridge case.
  • the mentioned first latching elements on the collars are preferably edge beads
  • the second latching elements in the central block are preferably corresponding latching grooves
  • the cartridge case has at its bottom nor a central inwardly pointing approximately cylindrical projection with a central opening into which a housing is used, in which the propellant charge and the pyrotechnic ignition device are added to the propellant charge.
  • the drive chamber for expelling the projectile is here the space between the bottom of the central block and the space between the side wall of the cartridge case and the walls of the central projection.
  • the main body of the cartridged ammunition is thus composed of only three parts, namely the central block, the one-piece projectile nose and the likewise one-piece cartridge case.
  • Cartridge and projectile nose are preferably plastic parts and are either deep-drawn or formed as a plastic die-cast, so easy and cheap to manufacture.
  • the central block may be made of a plastic material, which plastic material should have a high specific gravity to obtain a location of the center of gravity and the aerodynamic pressure point similar to a sharp projectile and to give the training bullet good flight characteristics similar to a sharp bullet.
  • plastic material should have a high specific gravity to obtain a location of the center of gravity and the aerodynamic pressure point similar to a sharp projectile and to give the training bullet good flight characteristics similar to a sharp bullet.
  • composite materials made of plastic and a metal, preferably bronze, which can be processed like plastic. Other materials such as aluminum etc. are possible.
  • the central block may be a solid or a hollow cylinder.
  • a color powder that is released upon impact of the projectile on a target when bursting the projectile nose and indicates the point of impact.
  • a bursting on impact on the target container may be arranged, which contains chemical substances in two compartments, which are mixed together when bursting the container and produce by chemiluminescence light, so that the point of impact of the projectile on a target is also visible at night.
  • the central block may still have a peripheral projection in the circumferential direction, which is located between the circumferential grooves, in which engage the Rastwülste of hood and cartridge case; this projection serves as a guide or swirl band when the practice bullet is fired from a weapon with a drawn barrel.
  • the resilient collar of the cartridge case is preferably formed so that it does not bear directly on the barrel of the weapon, at least in its upper region, but has a small distance thereto. If the propellant propellant gases act on the floor of the projectile, the collar is pressed against the barrel at a certain pressure, without the projectile being released. This has the advantage that when burning the propellant gases they can not escape backwards between the collar of the cartridge case and the launch tube, so that no gas loss occurs in this direction. If the pressure in the chamber continues to increase, the locking collar of the cartridge shell is sheared off at the latching groove of the projectile at a certain pressure, whereby the connection between latching bead and circumferential groove is broken and the projectile is released and expelled from the cartridge shell.
  • the release of the projectile takes place at well reproducible pressures, so that with each shot always the same release and flight characteristics are achieved for the projectile.
  • a cartridgeed training ammunition 1 has a central block 2, which is designed as a solid cylinder and consists of a heavy plastic, in particular a bronze reinforced plastic with high specific gravity.
  • the central block is designed as a solid cylinder and has two end faces, wherein the lower end face in the figure is provided with a central relatively wide cylindrical recess 3, whereas, on the other hand, the upper end face is flat.
  • a circumferential projection 4 is provided, which has the function of a guide or swirl band.
  • a bullet tip 5 is pushed, which is preferably a one-piece deep-drawn part is made of plastic and has the shape of a first thin-walled hollow cylinder, which merges in the region of the tip in a spherical cap with a nearly hemispherical shape.
  • the projectile nose 5 is at its lower, the central block 2 facing the end in a resilient collar 6, which has at its lower end a circumferential locking bead 7, which pushes the projectile nose 5 on the circumference in the upper part of the central block, in a likewise circumferential locking groove 8 of the central block 2 engages, said locking groove z. B. is provided directly on the upper edge of the guide belt 4.
  • the space between the upper end face of the central block and the hood is filled with a resting on the upper end face support plate 9, which has a central container 10 in which an inner container 11 is provided.
  • a material is respectively 12 and 13, wherein the two materials, when they break up after breaking the container, react chemiluminescent, so that light is generated.
  • the remaining space between the support plate 9, the container 10 and the projectile nose is filled with a marker 14, z. B. filled in a red color powder.
  • the carrier plate 9 and the containers 10 and 11 may also be made of plastic.
  • the projectile described is inserted into a cartridge case 20, which is preferably also made of plastic and z. B. is an injection molded part.
  • the cartridge case 20 has the shape of a cup, wherein at the open end of the cup, the wall in its thickness is reduced so far that forms a resilient collar 21.
  • the resilient collar 21 has at its upper end as the projectile nose 5 a circumferential latching bead 22 which, pushes the cartridge case with the collar 21 via the lower end of the central block 2, in a circumferential locking groove 23 of the central block 2 snaps.
  • the locking groove 23 is disposed directly below the guide belt 4.
  • the cartridge case 20 has an approximately cylindrical centric projection 24 extending from its base, which has a central and substantially cylindrical receiving space 25 extending from the base, against which a discharge opening 26, which slightly penetrates the upper wall of the projection 24 and is slightly narrower than the receiving space 25 connects, which ends just below the recess 3 at the bottom of the central block 2.
  • a housing 27 can be inserted and secured there in which a pyrotechnic propellant charge 28 and a pyrotechnic Anzündhütchen 29 are added fitting.
  • the housing 27 has, at its, the outflow opening 26 facing the end openings 30, which communicate directly with the outflow opening 26.
  • the shown patrolled practice ammunition is made as follows:
  • the projectile nose 5 is supported with its curvature on a support, so that the open end with the collar 6 is up.
  • the color powder 14 is filled and the plate 9 is inserted with the attached thereto or one-piece container 10 in the projectile nose and supported there on a flange.
  • the like prepared bullet tip 5 is placed on the central block 2 and locked by means of the locking bead 7 and the locking groove 8.
  • the housing 27 is used with the propellant 28 and the primer 29 and secured accordingly, for. B. by means of a lock, a bond, etc. Then the cartridge case 20 is pushed with its elastic collar 21 from below over the central block 2 until the locking bead 22 snaps into the locking groove 23.
  • the cartridge 1 can now be used in a running weapon and fired the projectile.
  • the state during firing is for the area of the connection between the cartridge case 20 or its collar 21 and a merely indicated firing tube 40 in FIG FIG. 2 shown.
  • a small gap 41 is provided between the outer wall of the collar 21 and the inner wall of the launching tube 40, which slightly widens in the direction of the upper end of the collar 21.
  • propellant gases of the propellant 28 flow through the openings 30 and the outflow opening 26 in the drive chamber 31 and act on the bottom of the central block 2 and the recess 3 in the lower end face.
  • propellant gases also enter the space between the central block 2 and the collar 21 and bend the collar, as indicated by the small arrow P, toward the inner wall of the launch tube 40 until the collar 21 snugly abuts this inner wall rests. If the pressure continues increases, the circumferential locking bead 22 is sheared off, whereby the projectile is released and expelled from the barrel.
  • One advantage is that during the expulsion of the projectile no gas between the collar 21 and the inner wall of the launching tube 40 can escape to the rear, since the collar 21 is pressed during the entire ejection process of the projectile to the inner wall of the launching tube 40. Thus, no loss of gas occurs backwards towards the bottom of the cartridge case.
