Description

We know from the Japanese patent application published under the number JP-07-214968 a writing instrument comprising an ink reservoir, a roller, a passage connecting the reservoir to the roller, as well as a valve mounted movable between a position closed in which it closes the passage and an open position in which it communicates the reservoir with the roller. A porous element is interposed in the passage between the roller and the valve, which is pierced with a hole which, in the open position, allows the ink to flow from the reservoir to the porous element, which soaks turn the roller. This type of writing instrument can give satisfaction, but it has however a certain number of drawbacks. First, as can be seen in Figures 1 and 2 of the aforementioned application, the roller is partly received in the passage provided for the flow of the ink. In order to allow free rotation of the roller, it is understood that it is necessary to provide a clearance between the roller and the passage. This results in a risk that an ink that is too liquid gets into this game and overflows from the contact zone between the roller and the support against which the roller is applied, which generates stains and burrs. Then, it may happen that the valve and / or the porous element get stuck in the passage, either in the closed position (in which case the ink no longer flows), or in the open position (in this case, the instrument flows continuously), all to the detriment of proper functioning of the writing instrument. The invention aims to solve in particular the aforementioned drawbacks, by proposing a writing instrument having reliability and precision. increased writing. To this end, the invention provides a writing instrument comprising: - a body provided with an ink reservoir, - an ink element mounted on the body, and - a supply device comprising: - a conduit connecting the reservoir to the ink element and opening into the reservoir through an opening, this conduit having an internal wall, and - a valve comprising a leg received in said conduit, and extended by a head, this valve being slidably mounted between a closed position in wherein said head is applied against a shoulder bordering said opening to prevent the flow of ink, and an open position in which the head is at least partly spaced from the shoulder to allow the flow of ink through the opening, characterized in that a gap is formed between the jamb and the internal wall of the conduit, and in that the jamb projects from the conduit on the side of the ink element. In this way, the ink flows by capillarity from the valve onto the ink element. This results in a reduction of the risk that the ink overflows from the ink element, to the benefit of writing precision. Furthermore, the gap between the valve and the conduit reduces the risk of the first being trapped in the second, to the benefit of the reliability of the writing instrument. The valve is preferably made in or coated with a hydrophobic material, such as silicone. Furthermore, the duct is for example of rectangular section, while the jamb is pyramidal. According to one embodiment, the supply device comprises a sleeve in which said opening is made, which comes to fit on a tubing of the reservoir and in which the valve is mounted. As for the valve, it can be provided with through holes made in the head in the vicinity of the j ambage. According to one embodiment, these holes are in the form of slots having parallel edges, the valve having a peripheral part fixed relative to the body and a central part comprising the valve leg, said central part being movable between a closed position in which the edges of each slot coincide, and an open position in which the edges of the slots are offset to allow the ink to flow. The ink element, in permanent contact with the valve leg, is preferably movable between a writing position in which it urges the valve towards its open position to allow the flow of ink, and a rest position in which allows the valve to occupy its closed position. The ink element is for example fixed on a support mounted to slide relative to the body between a writing position in which the ink element biases the valve towards its open position to allow the flow of the ink, and a position of rest in which the inking element allows the valve to occupy its closed position. According to one embodiment, the support is biased towards its rest position by a return spring, which for example comprises an elastic strip integrated in the support, which bears on a wall fixed relative to the body. The body of the instrument extending along an axis main, the ink element is for example a roller rotatably mounted about an axis perpendicular to the main axis of the body. According to one embodiment, the ink element is in peripheral contact with a writing roller mounted for rotation about an axis parallel to that of the intermediate roller, and capable of coming into contact with a writing medium. Furthermore, the diameter of the intermediate roller is preferably less than the diameter of the writing roller. Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent in the light of the description given below with reference to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a writing instrument according to the invention, closed by a cap; Figure 2 is a view of the writing instrument of Figure 1, without the cap; Figure 3 is a perspective view illustrating a part of the body of the writing instrument of the previous figures; Figure 4 is an exploded perspective view, partially broken away, illustrating the writing instrument of Figure 2; - Figure 5 is an elevational view in partial section illustrating the writing instrument of Figure 2; Figure 6 is an exploded perspective view showing a detail of the writing instrument of Figure 4; Figure 7 is a plan view of a valve for a writing instrument as illustrated in Figure 4; Figure 8 is a sectional elevation detail view illustrating the writing instrument with the valve in a closed position; Figure 9 is a view similar to Figure 8, where the valve is in the open position. In Figures 1 to 4 is shown a writing instrument 1 comprising a body 2 elongated along a main axis X and provided with a reservoir 3 containing a liquid ink 4 which can be seen in particular in Figure 4, part of the tank 3 being torn off. As shown in Figures 3 to 5, the tank 3 is in the form of a removable and replaceable cartridge, which is fitted between a front part 5 and a rear part 6 of the body 3, so that the surfaces of the tank 3 and of these front 5 and rear 6 parts are flush when the body 2 is assembled (FIG. 2). As can be seen in FIG. 4 in particular, the front part 5 has, on the side opposite to the rear part 6, a front end 7 shaped as a yoke comprising two parallel arms 8, 9 each provided on an internal face 10, d 'a groove 11 parallel to the main axis X. The instrument 1, which is in this case a marker or a highlighter, also comprises a writing device 12 comprising a support 13 having two longitudinal members 14, 15 which s' extend substantially parallel to the main axis X and between which are rotatably mounted an ink roller 16 and a writing roller 17 both cylindrical. The ink roller 16 and the writing roller 17 are respectively mounted for rotation about a first axis A1 and a second axis A2, substantially parallel to each other and perpendicular to the main axis X. As can be seen on the Figures 5 and 6, the diameter of the ink roller 16 is less than the diameter of the writing roller 17. The side members 14, 15 each have a rib 18 projecting, which extends parallel to the main axis X. Once assembled, the device 12 is mounted at the front end 7 of the body 2, the support 13 being fitted into the yoke 7 and the ribs 18 received in the corresponding grooves 11. The latter have a length greater than that of the ribs 18, so as to provide an axial clearance to the device 12, for reasons which will appear below. The writing instrument 1 further comprises a supply device 19 comprising a sleeve 20 which fits onto a tube 21 with which the reservoir 3 is provided, and a valve 22 fitted into the sleeve 20. The sleeve 20 has a hollow parallelepipedic body 23, open at a rear end 24 by which it fits on the pipe 21, and closed, opposite this rear end 24, by a bottom wall 25. The sleeve 20 also has a chimney 26 which projects in relation to the bottom wall 25, opposite the rear end 24. This chimney 26 is pierced with a conduit 27 passing through, of rectangular section. The conduit 27 has an internal wall 28 and opens, on the side of the reservoir 3, through an opening 29 bordered by a shoulder ent formed by a face 30 of the bottom wall 25, facing the reservoir 3. The valve 22 has as for it has a T-shaped profile and comprises a substantially flat head 31 which extends perpendicular to the main axis X, extended by a leg 32 which projects in relation to the head 31 and parallel to the main axis X, jamb 32 which ends, opposite the head 31, by one end 33. The valve 22 is fitted into the sleeve 20 with, on the one hand, its jamb 32 received in the conduit 27 and, on the other part, its head 31 taken between the bottom wall 25 and a front end 34 of the pipe 21. The respective sections of the leg 32 and of the conduit 27 are chosen so that there is formed between them a gap 35 where the ink 4 can flow, as we will see below. If the section of the duct 27 is constant, the jamb 32 has, as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, a truncated pyramidal shape, its section, taken perpendicular to the main axis X, becoming thinner from its junction with the head 31 towards its end 33, so that the width of the interstice 35 increases as one moves away from the reservoir 3. At its end 33, the leg 32 has a width L which is less than or equal to the width of the ink roller 16 (measured parallel to its axis of rotation A1). In addition, the respective lengths of the chimney 26 and the leg 32 are chosen so that the leg 32 protrudes from the conduit 27 on the side opposite to the reservoir 3, as shown in Figures 8 and 9. The valve 22 is also provided with through holes 36 made in the head 31 in the vicinity and on either side of the jamb 32. According to an embodiment illustrated in Figures 7 to 9, these holes 36 are in the form of slots having edges 37 , 38 parallels. These slots 36 delimit on the valve 22, on the one hand, a peripheral part 39, formed by a zone of the head 31 situated around the slots 36 and, on the other hand, a central part 40 situated between the slots 36 and comprising the leg 32. The valve 22 is movable along the main axis X, between - a closed position in which the edges 37, 38 of each slot 36 coincide, the part of the head 31 located in the vicinity of the leg 32 being applied against the shoulder 30 (FIG. 8), and - an open position in which the edges 37, 38 of the slots 36 are offset, the central part 40 being pushed towards the interior of the tank 3, the part of the head 31 located in the vicinity of the leg 32 being spaced from the shoulder 30 (FIG. 9). Whatever the position of the valve 22, the peripheral part 39, pinched between the bottom wall 25 and the end 34 of the tubing 21, is fixed relative to the body 2. Thus, the valve 22 passes from its closed position in its open position, and vice versa, by elastic deformation. In fact, the central part 40 of the valve 22 is permanently urged towards the closed position by the inherent elasticity of the material from which the valve 22 is made. The valve 22 is made in or coated with a hydrophobic material, for reasons which will appear below. According to a first embodiment, the valve 22 comprises a core made of a plastic material such as polypropylene, or an elastomer, as well as a silicone coating, the hydrophobic properties of which are well known. According to a second embodiment, the valve 22 is entirely made of silicone. Furthermore, as can be seen in FIG. 5, the writing device 12 is adjacent to the feeding device 19, the ink roller 16 being in contact with the leg 32 by a peripheral surface 41. More precisely, the writing device writing 12 is slidably mounted relative to the body 2 between: - a writing position, shown diagrammatically in FIG. 9, which it occupies when a user applies the instrument 1 against a writing medium (not shown), position in which the ink roller 16 urges the valve 22 towards its open position, and - a rest position, shown in FIGS. 5 and 8, in which the ink roller 16 allows the valve 22 to occupy its closed position. The writing device 12 is permanently biased towards its rest position by means of a return spring in the form of a pair of elastic strips 42 which extend in overhang at a rear end 43 of each beam 14, 15, and which are in permanent abutment against the bottom wall 25 on either side of the chimney 26. When the writing device 12 is in the rest position (as shown in the figure 5), the valve 22 is itself in the closed position and closes the conduit
On the other hand, when the writing device 12 is in the writing position, the ink roller 16 which moves back towards the reservoir 3 causes opening of the valve 22, the ink 4 being able to flow from the reservoir 3 towards the ink roller 16 by passing through slots 36 whose edges 37, 38 are spaced, then through the opening 29 and in the conduit 27. Given the hydrophobic nature of the coating of the valve 22 and the widening of the gap 35, the ink 4 peels off from the internal wall 28 of the conduit 27 to flow by capillarity against the flanks leg 32 (FIG. 9), then brush the surface 41 of the ink roller 16 which, in permanent peripheral contact with the writing roller 17, is rotated about its axis A1 in one direction opposed to this one. In addition, as the leg 32 protrudes from the conduit 27, the ink roller 16 is only in contact with the end 33 thereof, so that the spread of the ink 4 is located in the immediate vicinity of the end 33. Also the risk is minimal that the ink 4 overflows on the chimney 26 and flows in too large quantity on the ink roller 16. This risk is all the more limited as, as we indicated above, the width of the leg 32 at its end 33 is less than the width of the ink roller 16. This results in a high precision in spreading the ink 4 on the ink roller 16. The rotation of the ink roller 16 allows a uniform spreading of the ink 4 on its peripheral surface 41, and, by rotating contact with the writing roller 17, a uniform transfer of the ink 4 towards the latter. The presence of the ink roller 16, which forms an intermediate support for the ink 4 between the feed device 19 and the writing roller 17, makes it possible to limit the risks of ink overflowing 4. In addition, the fact that the diameter of the ink roller 16 is less than that of the writing roller 17 makes it possible to obtain a measured flow of ink from the ink roller 16 to the writing roller 17, and to minimize the risk of projection of ink (that is to say of ink) during the rotation of the rollers 16, 17.
