Definitions
- the present invention relates to an extension table comprising a base formed by a frame with stand elements, a frame mounted on the table top, which is equipped with a parting line which divides the table top into two parts, which parts along guides from a collapsed position in an extended position can be brought and in the extended position in the resulting gap between the two parts extension pieces are used.
- extension tables are known in many ways. Particularly well-known are extending tables whose table top is provided centrally with a parting line, so that the two tabletop halves can be pulled apart along guides in one direction. In the resulting gap rectangular extension pieces can be used, and depending on the length of the pull-out one or more such extensions can be used.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to provide an extension table, which does not have the above-mentioned disadvantage and which can be pulled out differently depending on the use only in the longitudinal direction.
- the solution of this object is achieved in that the table top has the shape of a parallelogram with two parallel aligned first side edges and two parallel aligned second side edges and the parting line extends diagonally, that first guide means in parallel are arranged to the first side edges and a part of the table top with respect to the other part along the first guide means in a first extended position is extendable, and that second guide means are arranged parallel to the second side edges and one part of the table top with respect to the other part along the second guide means in a second extended position is extendable.
- two extension pieces are provided for insertion into the gap, which are identical and each having two parallel longitudinal sides and two end faces, and which are respectively inserted into the gap, that in each case one of the two parallel longitudinal sides at the diagonal edge of the one part or at the diagonal edge of the other part of the table top comes to rest, and the one end face of the respective extension piece is aligned parallel to the first side edge, while the other end face of the respective extension piece is aligned parallel to the second side edge.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the frame is composed of profiles which form the guide means, wherein in each case a pair of profiles is arranged per side of the frame, which are equipped with longitudinal guide surfaces which cooperate in each case and allow a longitudinal displacement of the profiles , As a result, a very simple construction of the extension table is achieved.
- locking devices are attached to the profiles, with which the corresponding longitudinal displacement can be blocked. This allows, for example, block the one pull-out, if you want to take off the table in the other direction. In addition, the extended position can be locked, an unintentional movement is impossible.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that are arranged on the underside of the two parts of the table top along the diagonal edges support platelets, which are above the respective diagonal edge.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that on the underside of each part of the table top two carriers are arranged, which are each equipped with a parallel to the table top aligned leg, on each of which an extension piece can be accommodated. When not extended position and if the extension pieces are not needed, they can be supplied in an optimal and not disturbing way below the table top.
- the diagonal edges of the parts of the table top and the parallel longitudinal sides of the extension pieces are each provided with mutually cooperating guide elements. This ensures that the extension pieces are optimally aligned in the position inserted into the gap with respect to the table top and at the same level.
- the extending table 1 which in the present embodiment is rectangular in shape, consists of a frame 2, at the corner regions of which in each case a leg 3 is attached.
- the table top 4 Placed on the frame 2 is the table top 4, which is attached to the frame 2, as will be described later.
- This table top 4 has two first side edges 5 and 6 and two second side edges 7 and 8.
- the table top 4 is divided by a parting line 9 into two parts 10 and 11.
- the extension table 1 can be pulled out from the collapsed position shown in FIG. 1 into a first extended position.
- first guide means 12 are provided which, as will be described later, are accommodated in the frame 2 and which are aligned parallel to the first side edges 5 and 6.
- two extension pieces 14 and 15 are used, which completely fill the gap 13.
- These two extension pieces 14 and 15 have an identical shape.
- Each of these extension pieces 14 and 15 comprises two parallel longitudinal sides 16 and 17 and two end faces 18 and 19. In the inserted state in the gap 13, as shown in Figure 2, the one longitudinal side 16 of the extension piece 14 and the other longitudinal side 17 of Extension piece 15 at the diagonal edge 20 of the part 10th to the plant.
- the longitudinal side 17 of the extension piece 14 and the longitudinal side 16 of the extension piece 15 comes to the diagonal edge 21 of the part 11 to the plant.
- the two end faces 18 of the extension pieces 14 and 15 are aligned with the first side edges 5 and 6 of the table top 4th
- the extending table 1 shown in the collapsed position in FIG. 1 can be pulled out along second guide means 22, which second guide means 22 are also accommodated in the frame 2, and which second guide means 22 are parallel to the second side edges 7 and 8 the table top 4 are aligned.
- the two extension pieces 14 and 15 are inserted, the mutual position was, however, replaced in comparison to the extract position shown in Figure 2.
- the longitudinal side 16 of the extension piece 15 and the longitudinal side 17 of the extension piece 14 in turn come to the diagonal edge 21 of the part 11 to the plant.
- the longitudinal side 17 of the extension piece 15 and the longitudinal side 16 of the extension piece 14 come to the diagonal edge 20 of the part 10 to the plant.
- the two end faces 18 of the two extension pieces 14 and 15, which are aligned parallel to the first side edges 5 and 6, abut each other, the two end faces 19 of the two extension pieces 14 and 15 are aligned with the two side edges 7 and 8 respectively.
- extension table While the basic shape of the extension table, as shown in FIG. 1, forms a rectangle, in the first extended position, as shown in FIG. 2, it can be converted into a rectangle with a greater width, while in the second extended position, represented in Figure 3, the original rectangle was extended. This gives you various options to adapt the extension table to the desired event.
- the embodiment shown here shows a rectangular shape, of course, can also serve any parallelogram instead of a rectangle.
- Figure 4 shows the extension table 1 in the first extended position, as shown in Figure 2.
- the resulting from the withdrawal along the first guide means 12 gap 13 is open.
- platelets 23 are arranged, which are above the respective diagonal edge 20 and 21 of the two parts 10 and 11 above.
- the two extension pieces can now be inserted into the gap 13, in this case they can be placed on the support plate 23. This avoids that these two extension pieces can fall out of the gap 13 during insertion into the gap 13 and the removal.
- the extension to the extended position by a certain amount can be greater than the width of the extension pieces to be used would be required.
- the two parts 10 and 11, which form the table top 4 are slightly pushed against each other until the gaps between part 10 and 11 and the extension pieces are closed.
- the mating sides of the extension pieces 14 and 15 and the parts 10 and 11 of the table top 4 can be provided with grooves 24 and springs 25. With these grooves 24 and springs 25 is an optimal positioning of the extension pieces 14 and 15 with respect to the two parts 10 and 11 with respect to the formation of a flat table surface achieved.
- Figure 7 shows a bottom view of the extension table 1 in its collapsed position.
- two carriers 26 are arranged in each case. These carriers 26 each have a leg 27 which is aligned parallel to the table top and forms a storage compartment. Between leg 27 and table top 4 can thus each insert part 10 and 11, respectively, an extension piece 14 or 15 insert and accommodate.
- the extension table 1, as shown in the collapsed position in FIG. 7, can now be brought into the second extended position, as can be seen in FIGS. 8 and 9.
- the frame of first profiles 28 and second profiles 29 is composed.
- the profiles 28 in this case run parallel to the second side edges 7 and 8, while the profiles 29 extend parallel to the first side edges 5 and 6.
- Per side are two profiles 28 and 29 on each other and have longitudinal guide surfaces, as will be described later.
- the superimposed two profiles 28 and 29 can thus be moved in the longitudinal direction against each other.
- Two profiles 28 and 29 are attached to a table leg 3 and form a corner of the frame second
- the locking devices 30, which will be described in detail later, are released on the profiles 28.
- the part 10 can now be moved relative to part 11 along the profiles 28 in the second extended position.
- the two extension pieces 14 and 15 can be removed from the carriers 26, to which the legs 27 can be pivoted, and can then be inserted into the fully opened gap 13, wherein they are supported on the support plate 23.
- the part 10 can be pushed back relative to the part 11 until all the gaps which have arisen between the extension pieces 14 and 15 and the parts 10 and 11, are closed. This position is in FIG. 9 shown, the previously released locking devices 30 can now be blocked again, accidental removal of the extension table is thus avoided.
- the locking devices 30 and 31 can be seen, which are each constructed in an identical manner.
- the frame 2 is composed of profiles 28 and 29 which are arranged in pairs.
- the profiles 28 are shown in section. These profiles 28 have guide surfaces 32, which are formed in the present embodiment, in which these profiles are formed for example of wood, as dovetail guides.
- the locking devices 30 and 31 include a threaded pin 33 equipped with a turret 34. This pin 33 is screwed into a nut 35.
- This nut 35 is housed in one of the profiles 28, the pin 33 is guided by a slot-shaped recess 36 which is mounted in the other profile 28.
- This slot-shaped recess 36 forms the end stops for fully extended or fully inserted position.
- profiles 28 and 29 may be formed of other materials, there are also other known longitudinal guides used.
- any suitable materials can be used for the table top, the extension pieces and the legs, for example wood, plastic or metal, depending on the intended use and which optical or aesthetic effect is to be achieved.
